Jill, Derick & the Kids: Moving On!!

Radio silence from Jill the Content Creator since Christmas Eve. If the Dillards celebrated Christmas with Miss Cathy, she waited a week to post a picture of her grandsons, or they got together during the week after Christmas. Interesting too, it just the grandsons and maybe the feet of the other DIL.

I find it odd Jill hasn't posted Christmas pics. It has me wondering if they celebrated at home alone and Jill doesn't want to contradict what played out on Jessa's IG feed.

Or maybe the Dillards had a big ole celebration and are smart enough not to post it. Since April influencers and other famous folks have been called out (rightly so) for their selfish and careless behaviors during the pandemic. Kirk Cameron's sister Candice has even had to defend her family because of Kirk's behavior.

But whatever the reason, Jill rarely goes 12 days without posting. I mean Derick made it a point to let us all know creating content for their SM is her job.

There's got to be a certain level of cognitive dissonance that she experiences when, on the one hand, she's following her headship, but on the other hand, following her headship contradicts her family of origin.

Nepali Milk Tea

Jan 4, 2021 | Recipes | 1 

When Derick lived in Nepal for two years before we were married, he had lots of this Nepali milk tea & Tibetan yak butter tea. Our Nepali friends here in Arkansas taught us how to make their famous Nepali milk tea and we had to share! It’s a version of chai with all the wonderful spices and flavor. We hope you can enjoy a cozy cup of tea during these cold winter days and maybe look up some Nepali videos or music on the internet to get the full experience! 

Makes 2 small cups of tea

2 t. loose black tea (or 2 black tea bags)

2 cups milk

4 T. sugar

1-2 whole cardamom (smash between fingers or with pestle) 

1/2 t. ground cinnamon 

1/4 t. ground cloves

1/4 t. ground black pepper

1 bay leaf, break up a little

Add all ingredients to small pot. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer 3-5 minutes while continuing to stir. Strain and serve!

Being a content creator is hard y'all when you have nothing to work with. Derick and Izzy go to school, no pics, no filming following them. everyone knows this already.

Jill stays home and tries to magically create "content" from nothing while also home pre schooling Sam.

there is nothing new under the sun for her to post these days. Husband, son in school, preschool age kid at home, same old recipes. They have exhausted the shock value of recommendations for sexy books and sex basket themed give aways.

now if Jill got an actual job outside the home, that might be newsworthy/post worthy

Jill did just an insta-story. She said she's back from the holidays. She and Derick were able to get away for a few days. She said it was very refreshing. There will be pictures and videos posted later.

Jill added a bunch of pictures to her story. They went to Branson. They stayed in a B&B. Watched the Razorbacks bowl game. Jer and Jana stopped by with gifts. They did FaceTime with the family on Christmas and Santa. They went swimming with the boys and Dan and Deena. Also had a double date with them. I took screen shots, but can't post them as it says there is a size limit. Couldn't even post 1. Not sure how you all can post several screen shots..lol.

Interesting how it's always Jer and Jana. You'd think James and Jenni would be allowed to tag along, since they were in Jill's buddy group. Makes me wonder if Boob deliberately selects the "disapproving" siblings, as they'd be more likely to give a full report upon return.

my first thought on the amount of food on Izzy and Sam's plates wasn't guessing what it was but figuring in would sadly be more than all 11 Rodrigues children combined had at a meal that same day.

Not sure what you mean about allowing them to use it. We've been to casinos with hotels and the pool is always open and people are using it all the time. We haven't as we don't use pools even without a pandemic.

I don’t know how Jill got the gifts to the TTH. It’s possible that she did mail them. However, I’m certain that in that link, where Jessa says the gifts were mailed, she was referring to Jinger and Jeremy. I believe that was edited to appear as though she was talking about Jill. I went to Jessa’s Instagram to confirm. There were two different questions posed to her. One, were Jill and Derick included. Answer, yes. And then, how were Jinger and Jeremy included. Answer, they mailed their gifts.

With both of the Dillard boys married with children, I could see at least one of them getting a hotel room.  From the pictures I have seen from Cathy's house, it does not look big enough to comfortably sleep 10.

Looks exactly like the "Marie Callender" frozen chicken pot pies that I buy.... Toss them in the oven for 45 minutes.

Pastry, chicken, peas, carrots and gravy.

I usually pair it with a nice salad and it's a decent meal on busy days.

My opinion here is that Jana is the watchdog when any of the single Duggar siblings visit Jill. She is the common denominator in those photos. JB depends on her to report to him any 'inappropriate conversation topics'. I think Jana is more of a bitch than we think.

Now that all of the siblings are grown and Jana is raising the others, why would it matter? I honestly don't think JB and Michelle care about Jill "leaving" as much as people think they do. I think they are pissed that Derick is trying to expose the grift. Jana is the one that is most exposed to the "real world". Of all the sisters, she's the one that has traveled the most and the one that is most often seen without any other Duggar around. I don't know what her and Laura get up to, but I don't think they sit around and worry about her adult siblings.

I agree. Jana keeps her mouth shut except for the mandatory THs on the show and insipid SM postings. And she's attractive although she hasn't trooped down the aisle for the TLC cameras to start a career of popping out Babies For Jesus. For those reasons I believe it's easy for people to project onto Jana their own fantasies that she's a secret rebel within the ranks. I don't think she is. If she hated her parents she'd have figured out how to get married and get out of their house. Her life hasn't followed the fundie daughter script of marrying and pumping out babies, but although they don't preach about it like some of the other creepy* fundie families do, she's following the Stay At Home Daughter script instead. 

*Even creepier than the Duggars. Yecch.

I think there's only four Duggars who give the Derick/JB situation any thought; JB, Jessa, Derick and Jill. And all for different reasons.

JB cares because Derick challenged him. Jessa cares because she needs to defend her parents and keep the show going. Derick cares because he's trying to repair his reputation and Jill cares because she still loves her parents. However, I don't think any of them perseverate over it (well maybe Jill). I'm guessing its only in their thoughts when something comes up.

I don't think JB is even aware of how Jill's gifts got to her. Jana was probably tasked with the duty, because she's they only female who drives and gifts are 'women's work'.

she goes nowhere alone - one or another Duggar brother/pilot flies Jana and Laura where they want to go. Probably stays with them the entire time. Jana and Laura went to Vegas for a home show and JB went with them. Jana bike rides and there are brothers and sisters along every single time. Jeer went with her to Jill's.

Lucky Jeer got his Pilot's license - the other pilots -John and Josiah, now married with kids, maybe don't want to cart Jana and Laura of to Magnolia or wherever. though if daddy tells them to they will.

way back it seems in TH on the show on schooling or something one kid said was about calling in Jana and then you were in trouble.

I believe Jana was always second in command at the TTH, and still is to this day

I don't think Jana has as much freedom as the Duggars try to insinuate, but I also think the "perks" she enjoys are because she is essentially one of the enforcers. I don't think Jim Bob would give her the allowances she does get if he didn't trust her absolutely. And I have no trouble believing that she is a mandatory presence from Jim Bob's perspective during Jill visits.

I feel your pain. I am a gourmet cook but I still sometimes crave (dolled up) boxed mac and cheese. It reads comfort to me, sometimes (child of the 60s/70s, not my fault). Sorry, we now return you to your regularly scheduled topic.

Jill has an IG story about dealing with anxiety. I wonder if she in fact has anxiety and gets counseling for it. As a longtime sufferer of anxiety I feel like it's one of those illnesses that's dismissed by people a lot.
