Duke2801 September 16, 2016 Share September 16, 2016 (edited) So. It appears that Panera will NOT let up with those awful commercials with the most g-damned annoying spokesperson EVAR. I can't find a link to their latest atrocity, but it's the one that declares that a person saying "let's get a sandwich or something" is as insulting and dismissive as saying "you graduated from medical school...or something." Beyond the grating voice, it makes NO damn sense. When I - and assumably most people - say "Hey lets go get a sandwich or something," I mean "Let's go get a sandwich... or soup... or salad." Something on the lighter side made quickly. And, yeah, these are all of the things that PANERA offers, MORONS. Ugh. I cannot reach for the remote fast enough when I hear her whiny horrid voice start yammering. Edited September 16, 2016 by Duke2801 17 Link to comment

Neurochick September 16, 2016 Share September 16, 2016 The Viagra ads don't bug me, and I'd rather kids watch them than watch the news showing images of war (as I did, growing up during Vietnam). My problem is they act as if Panera Bread came up with the concept of clean food, or soup and sandwich, when people have been eating soup and sandwiches for decades. 1 Link to comment

That commercial actually made me laugh, particularly the bit at the end. But then, I have a kid who tends to phrase well-meaning things awkwardly. (He's taken to prefacing every statement with "No offense ..." meant genuinely, and I don't have the heart to tell him adults find that phrase passive-aggressive.) It's impressive how the Panera narrator can put so much smugness and tweeness into every word. 2 Link to comment

AuntiePam September 17, 2016 Share September 17, 2016 We know that there are male and female versions of some designer perfumes, but that's not true for all of them. It'd be nice to know which gender an ad is aimed at. The Bleu ad seems to feature the man, but is the scent for him, or is it worn by the woman he's chasing? I guess perfume ads have to be aimed at both. I have yet to see a perfume ad featuring a same-sex attraction, even though same-sex couples have been in ads for years now.
