Don't we all remember telling our girlfriends about our first kiss? The first time a guy copped a feel? And Lord the drama and trauma of sex? Imagine that all at once, and you can't even share it with anyone but the guy. As much as you love someone and want that all to be sacred, there's nothing like sharing the experience with someone who's already been there. Or bragging to your friends that you got the first kiss/hot guy/love letter/etc.  I certainly hope that Jinger and Jessa's closeness meant that Jessa whispered some little secrets and clued Jinger in on what to expect.

No doubt they're still all texting, calling, skyping, etc.

While I do thjnk it is great that Jinger is being partially deprogrammed, I feel like she is being programmed in another direction. Still somebody else controlling and deciding for a grown, intelligent, adult woman. She's transferring her dependency from her family to her husband.

I want to like Jeremy, because he looks so much like Mr Razz, and Jinger is wearing real clothes and looking happy, but I'm still side eyeing him. This six month ban sounds like partial isolation, which is a big red flag.

I agree with all of this. Even if Jeremy was leading her in a "good" direction, it's still him controlling her. It all boils down to Jinger being a blank slate, which is not a good thing. If Jeremy were leading her in the direction of prairie dresses, Jinger would be just as thrilled to go along with it. So, meh on all the performative positive changes.

Is the visitation restriction on travel to the TTH as well? Or was it to keep the Duggs from dropping in on them. It would be much easier for them to make a quick visit and leave when they choose, than to have the Duggs in never-ending rotation sleeping in the guest room.

Yeah, I really get the feeling that its purpose, if it actually exists of course, is to prevent a bus or a 10-seater airplane from rolling up the driveway and depositing a horde. They've certainly seen it happen to others. And given that no Duggar works a real job or attends school, unlike with most people it could happen at literally any time at all.

How many times did these people visit Jill and Dreck in DA first time around?  It seems as if there was a near-constant stream of Duggars in the DA house.  A stream of what felt like monthly social media posts on how a group of them was headed down there.  Oh and poor Anna...hundreds of miles away living in DC didn't save her from frequent visits by the locusts.

Spot on. You work for TLC? This must be from the cutting room floor.

Even then, don't count them out! Bin "attends school," but would bring his homework! ?

I like to think maybe Jessa made up the ban on behalf of Jinger, who just rolled with it.

It's like Jessa escaped and did the best she could, then used her leverage to fling Jinger up to greater heights.

Doubt it. Nice thought, but Jessa isn't going to fling anyone up to greater heights than herself. Not even her own kids.

I do think someone else thought up the ban and Jinger absolutely rolled with it.

I doubt Ben is "attending school" this semester. He took the entire fall semester off when Spurge was born well after midterms. At least this one was due closer to the beginning of the semester, so his haitus this time is a bit more justified. However, Ben, most men take a couple weeks off and go right back to whatever job they have. I get that you really can't do that with school....except that yours is already ONLINE!

Then again, maybe he IS going to school. He looks like HELL in the last couple of videos that they've released in the last couple of weeks. Even Jessa appeared without makeup. I wonder if Henry is a more difficult baby?

If he doesn't have live classes, nothing is stopping the Seewalds from hopping on a plane, other than HWS only being a month old. I'd bet the farm that JinJer have been to AR to see the baby. Other than the trip to LA to interview Banana Man and the Christmas trip back east, we haven't heard much about the whereabouts of the Vuolos.

I think that the so-called "ban" is just something that they came up with to talk about on the show. It's another FU Internet moment; "See, we DO understand the concept of boundaries! And we respect each other's right to privacy!"

I think most of what they say is made up for fake-drama purposes. This show is so boring, that they have to amp up the excitement.....such as the preview of the face Jinge made at the cooking lesson, which was totally stupid because everything was fine with the chef. And the trip to Laredo for Jessa to "redecorate"....another fakedy-fake episode....they probably all helped move the stuff back before they left.....well, maybe not the lazy Duggs......the crew probably did it.

Jinge looked adorable in all her new honeymoon clothes and in the recent shorts outfit. Nice legs, Jinge.....who knew? I think Babe is a fashionista and it probably didn't take much to convince Jinge to follow suit. Didn't I hear him mumble something about if she had on a new dress  as they were entering the rehearsal dinner place? She probably now gets to shop, thrift and otherwise, without JB making her feel guilty about it. I hate JB for that. She was thrift-shopping , for F's sake. Go, Jinge.

I think Babe is creepy in his THs, but seems perfectly normal when it's unscripted, like when he's talking to his buds. I will never listen to his, or anyone else's sermons..... but they're probably creepy because they're scripted.

Edited to add about having a  TV....one of the "date night" suggestions at her shower was a Movie Night and nobody flinched.

Remind me, does Jeremy have a TV?

If so, they did a good job shooting around it. Lots of experience doing same at both Boob's and Smuggar's places. They also don't shoot in the Seewald master. They may have a screen up on a wall in there; they have to watch those Arkansas games somewhere, and a bitty screen for two people? Doubt it.

  • Love 2

Wasn't there a time when they did shoot in JB and Mechelle's room and there was a tv mounted to the wall?  And they DO have that huge projection screen in the living room of the TTH.  Because Andy Griffith.

in this day and age it's not prudent to be TV-less.  Even if you only watch the news.  Hoping Jeremy understands this.

  • Love 1

I forget if the shot of the big screen in the  Boobchelle lovenest was a screenshot or a still shot. They have shown the big screen projector in recent years, but of course TLC will never show them watching it, even though there's evidence to the contrary The last election comes to mind...Forget who posted it to SM, but the proof that they use the thing was indisputable.

JinJer? I thought I saw a TV (maybe 32") when Boobchelle visited Laredo, but there was no sign of it in the decorating episode, but as I noted before, TLC could have shot around it, since the big issues were the bookcases, living room seating, and Jeremy's massive 90's throwback headboard.

Well, as long as you have a computer or even a smart phone of some variety you can access all the TV you really need. Now that my  husband has been working out of state for a while, my TV doesn't get switched on for weeks at a time (the fact that the wind blew the antenna on the roof askance a while ago and I can't actually get any channels at the moment doesn't bother me in the least). I get all the news I need on my laptop, and any shows I'm interested in also come in fine on that thanks to Netflix and Amazon.

  • Love 5

But, as is the case with the Duggars projection screen TV set-up, you have 20-ish sets of eyes to entertain, especially on election nights or when Arkansas is playing. Can't do that with a computer or smartphone unless every kid is glued to their own phone. That goes against everything Gothard teaches about family (and how it becomes insular). What's stopping Josiah from looking at porn on his phone while everyone else is watching the Arkansas game?

Honestly?  I don't think any of the Duggar children *know* how to look up porn.  They're THAT sheltered and cut-off from the real world.

They could, but I used that example just because fundies are so obsessed with it. He could, in reality, be checking his stock portfolio or something. :D

I've always suspected that Smuggar, as the firstborn, had more freedom than the later Duggarlings, and that Kim Jong Bob and Mullet cracked down hard on the younger ones after Smuggar turned out to be a pervert.

The Duggars have anti-search software on the "school" laptops. They've even advertised it on their FB page. Not sure if it can be installed in the kids' phones, but I imagine it must be. I've never looked into this possibility w/r/t smartphones.

IIRC Boob has stated that the boys' cell phones, and his own, do not have Internet access. He gave an interview about the evils of the internet. It made the Josh porn revelation ironic, yet hilarious. Thank Gothard we silly women would never, ever think about looking at Online porn. That is why the girls' have Internet on their phones.

  • Love 6

Oh the Duggars have TVs.  They just pretend they don't because then they would look stupid after 8 years of insisting they are better than we are for not having a TV.

I hate people like that...TV?  Oh, we don't watch one of THOSE THINGS.  Then their child is glued to their phone.

Just like they are going to have to eat shit now that Jinger was photographed wearing shorts.  So much for all the Nike whores out there...seems Jinger is pretty Nike too now! I'm gonna tell MY sons not to glance at YOUR daughter.

Jeremy probably planned the shorts photo just to piss off Jim Bob/

Jinger's shorts were a pawn in the power play between Jeremy and Jim Bob.  Poor Jinger...she can't even wear shorts without it being a whole issue between men.

So when that didn't work out, he looked to his father as role model and saw that there was another way to get people to stare in admiration and wonderment for an hour at a stretch. So now he's doing that.

There's also the attraction of "planting" a someday megachurch, in which one's lifestyle is subsidized by the taxpayers, it's possible to end up on TV again, and if one stays on the straight and narrow, one might see one's lifestyle and financial $ituation improve in a big way.

See Saddleback Church and whatever it is in Dallas, for starters.

I've always suspected that that idea was at least subconsciously lurking in the backs of Jer's, Der's and Bin's minds, vastly increasing the Dugg women's attractiveness, all through this marriage-of-the-Duggarlings' saga. Wouldn't surprise me if it's in the back of Kendra's father's mind as well. ...

I do kinda doubt that any of them openly admit this to themselves, though.

They think it's a deep, dark secret. Considering the fact that many of the megachurch leaders have fallen on hard times due to their own sinful decisions (oops. How did THAT happen?) or died (The Crouches come to mind) there are job openings!

Let's see if TLC is desperate enough to broadcast the inner workings of a church plant with 25 members, let alone a megachurch attended by thousands when it gets to that point. Most viewers will most likely be uninterested in the truth of how the sausage gets made. IMHO of course.

Is it possible that after the wedding day that Jeremy decided to take time getting to know Jinger and going slow and not consummating the marriage immediately?

No.

What the hell are they watching?

It looks like a pull-down projector screen showing a churchy sermon. Shoot me now. I wanna know what the blond girl with the dress-over-leggings, which is really a long top with pants, is doing. Looks so odd. Is she trying to wake up comatose Mullet?

I'm not entirely convinced P went in V night one if they took the time for any exploration,  but it definitely happened before they left Arkansas.  They were in the hotel three nights IIRC.

Jinger was way too happy and too subtly making/laughing at dirty innnuendo in Australia not to have been fully consummated.

He wouldn't do it in the same room?

Earlier when I said that the Duggar kids weren't smart enough to look up porn I forgot about Joshua.   But that was when he was an adult and had to work around real computers in the real world.  Jeremy was in the real world so that may be why he's at least a little more flexible about some things for Jinger.  As to the other kids, I don't know if they know what a search engine is.  Their extreme lack of education is what I was referring to.

Actually I believe that Josh was caught looking at porn while he was helping during an election as a teenager.

I think they all know a lot more about computers, social media and smart phones than most people would think.  They just don't know stupid stuff like basic English, math, science or history.

And I think they do, wear and watch a lot more diverse things than they will EVER allow to be filmed for TLC or allow to be shared with the public.  I think the younger ones see & check out magazines, books, music and videos when they go to places like Target and I honestly don't think they rat each other out to their parents that much.

I think they all toe the line when the cameras roll and spout the party politics, but are otherwise not as devout and Gothardized behind closed doors as they want the world to think.

I think Jing & Baaaaabe are just advertising their normalcy a bit more than the others.

But YMMV.
