Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

The Politics Policy is still in effect. A participants social media is NOT an invitation to discuss their political view points. Consider if discussion of certain social media posts will cause you to violate the politics policy BEFORE you hit the "Submit Reply" button.

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

Maybe Nathan resisted her sales pitch enough so that all JillR could get out of him was an order for the merch.

Hopefully it was a one time purchase just to shut Jill up.

When I posted the post just above appeared.  I really hope they aren't stuck in something like that.

I can't imagine that Nurthan has that much disposible cash to be ordering Plexus on the regular.  I can see Jill conning Nurie into selling it though.

That has to be the goal. Florida is a whole new market for Jill. She doesn't care about Nurie's/Nathan's health or financial situation. Jill only cares about herself and her CASH AWARDS and new year's leaders' trip or cruise or whatever they do.

This is what a godly, homeschooling mother of 13 kids spends her time doing: face tuning. Both the nose and the chin lost length and width, and the chipmunk cheeks are gone. The rolls on her neck and the chipped polish need a little more work though.

Our memories are longer than theirs. I don't believe the Bateses have been isolating. They almost flaunt their disregard for public safety.

Tim Rod's podcast touches on Covid. He hints that Christians don't fear the virus while the rest of us hide in terror. He also talks about Covid and our "precious freedoms." I take that to mean the god-given right to hold super-spreader gatherings. When Tim keeps saying he's far from perfect, I agree, except that he doesn't mean it and I do. He's a champion humble bragger like his mother.

Up yours, Tim (said in a loving and grace-filled manner). This Christian has continued to isolate but also hasn’t missed a day of work  due to ABJECT TERROR BUT is wise enough to take some basic precautions. Use the brain God gave you, ding dong.

If anyone is interested in podcasts, The Dream is a really well done one whose first season is all about MLMs. The history, why they're not considered illegal pyramid schemes, the manipulation that goes into recruiting, etc but it does so without getting too judgmental about the people who get roped into them. Their 2nd season is about alternative health practices so somewhat tangentially related to Plexus even though I don't think that company is ever specifically addressed. Every time I see Jill's claims about making so much money with Plexus, I think of The Dream.

I would bet money that Jill is pushing Nurie to sign up to sell under her, and that Nathan suggested they try the products first instead as a compromise. Hopefully he can keep putting her off, but Jill is a force so who knows how long he and Nurie can hold out.

I have 2 separate thoughts over here. As far as Nurthan goes... Just. Say. No. Back away now before JillRod’s hooks are too deep into you.

And with the TimBit situation. If/when he gets fired over his stupid SM outburst, how long will it take for JillRod to spin it into a “it was very clear that Jesus was leading Timmay to a new direction and he left his health care job. Good luck, Bud!” situation? Because surely none of this nonsense was *their* fault...

I love The Dream! I am extremely anti-mlm, they prey on vulnerable, often financially challenged people who often end up with more debt and fewer friends. It's a horrible industry and it fits that Jill is part of it. I'm guessing she's grooming Nurthan to be part of her downline, as that is basically the only way to make any money in an mlm.

I agree. But I can't imagine that Florida isn't already full of Plexus "Ambassadors" who are scrambling and scratching like hell to generate income. And, where will Nurie find prospects to sell Plexus to? At church? I'd think she'd need more than a bit of JillR's pushy nature to have a hope in hell of selling Plexus junk to people. Would she be willing or able to venture out into the general public to push Plexus? I don't know how cloistered the Kellers are. Are they Duggar-like, as in, you hang around with family and have an accountability partner if you leave the house even to grocery shop? Or are they past that foolishness, and even if they aren't, do those rules apply to Nathan and Nurie?

Nurie seems sweet and until her marriage was totally under her mother's thumb. If Nathan's not by nature so domineering, she could have a chance to blossom a little bit within the limits of their cult. Certainly it seems that Nathan lets her eat better than she did before marriage. We can't really know if he's an abusive asshole in private, but I cherish hope that he is not.

Everyone is mask-less at the Severely Quadraplegic Sister's house, and why no nothing bad would ever happen if a quadraplegic woman gets COVID. Because of Reasons! Idiots.

I can't even randomly capitalize on purpose. Jill is insane.

How about encouraging people to wear mask, socially distance, and help bring an end to this pandemic, rather than having your precious in-person 'fellowships' and ignoring recommendations from doctors, nurses, and everyone else that is caring for all the Covid patients and witnessing death on a daily basis?

You all have to go to JillR's FB page and watch the Plexus unboxing videos.

Plexus porn trigger alert ...

The last two videos. She has to know that it looks like she's vigorously pleasuring that bottle by hand in the second to last one. And the last one, yup Jill and her large mouth are at it again.

Lastly, WTF is she filming in the bathroom? Oh I forgot, because, you know, she's doing Plexus porn.

Did anyone see the post on another site that said Jackson Duggar has been driven a couple of times to see a Rod girl? I'm not sure I'm allowed to mention the site.Since Jill hasn't mentioned it,it may not be a go,not yet anyway,if it's even true

I just read an article about a random family. The 36 year old mom was pregnant with their 10th child. No mention of their religious affiliation. The article doesn't mention how, but the entire family contracted covid. Mom and dad got more severe symptoms, the dad having pre-existing conditions, but not the mom. They did an emergency C-section and delivered the baby girl at 36(?) weeks. Sadly, mom later died.

IMO, the Duggars, Rods and others increase the risk of something like this happening, with their cavalier attitudes.

Like @iwantcookies said, how has no one become seriously ill or worse?

Because covid was allowed to run amok, there are two new prominent variations of covid circulating. They're thinking the strain circulating in Africa is more contagious and more deadly.

I still think Nurie hasn't conceived because she is underweight.

It could be due to her health, including malnutrition and lack of periods, but I don't think being thin alone is the cause. I'm 5'4" and weighed less than 100lbs and had no trouble conceiving.

Lack of basic reproductive knowledge doesn’t help. I’m sure all she knows is sex = babies if Jesus says ok. I get this information is easily available but given how she was raised I can see her being too fearful to even Google, lest she stumble onto porn.

For a man as fond of money as Boob is he has to know how batcrap crazy and what a leech Jill is. If anything Anna may be able to tell them that too if she communicates with her brother at all.

eta, the power play between those two could be really fun for us to watch play out though.

Same here.  She doesn't look as thin as I was when I conceived two of my kids.  Although the quality of her previous diet could affect things.  It could be, horror of horrors, that Nathan due to some of his siblings knows you don't have to have a dozen or more kids and don't have to have a pregnancy your first six months of marriage.

There are some very thin people, even ones with eating disorders, who still ovulate and can get pregnant.  I have had more than a couple of women who were battling ongoing eating disorders, severely underweight, and still managed to get pregnant.  Taking care of a woman who bursts into tears when she finds out she's gained a pound in a month of pregnancy is no fun.  One of the women actually ended up in liver failure a couple years later and needed a transplant due to years of depriving her body of nutrition.  Body fat is part of the equation, but it isn't the whole thing.

Jackson?  He's only 16 and an extremely immature 16 at that.  I can't see it.  Kaylee and Renee are too old and Tessie is not even 14 yet.

Also, somehow I can't see Jim Bob wanting anything to do with the Rods.

But stranger things have happened, I guess.  I never say never with these people because I have been proven wrong too many times.

How no one died from COVID a mystery

My late brother's first grandchild, Hunter, was born exactly 5 months ago today, 8/25.  I still haven't met him, and he only lives 1 county over from me.  And it hurts my heart.

Yet these yahoos' lives haven't been impacted at all, seemingly.  While the rest of have been SEVERELY impacted.  Like many here have said, I don't wish any illness on anyone, exactly, but I wouldn't be torn up if certain people were visited by COVID-19.  Ugh.

A couple with both people under 35 would need to go a whole year before they are diagnosed with infertility. Nurie and Nathan have been married 6 months. It's still too soon to call infertility.

I also think she could be pregnant and her mother doesn't want to announce it. Jill wants to be pregnant and not a grandmother.

While the technical definition of infertility in a couple under 35; most doctors would start to evaluate after 3-6 months if there was some obvious problem like a woman who does not have regular periods.  I just spoke to someone today who is 25 and has been trying for 6 mos but has only had 2 periods in that time.  I think she has polycystic ovaries and we're doing the bloodwork now.  I tell my patients with PCOS to let me know if they try for 3 mos without success.  There's not a lot of reason to wait a year if there is an obvious issue.  I work with someone who received chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant for leukemia as a teen.  Her periods are sporadic.  She saw a fertility specialist even before she got married and knew what she was facing.  Probably the first wedding I ever attended that the couple asked for money instead of gifts that didn't feel tacky.  She knew she could need as much as 30 grand for an egg donor and IVF and, so, that's what they wanted.  They've been married 2 years and she is 6 months pregnant having hit the jackpot first time out with IVF and a donor egg.

If Nurie isn't ovulating because she is underweight, most doctors would go ahead and work her up and start treating it.

We don't know that Nurie has obvious problems. For all we know, Nurie could be pregnant. I don't think there will be an immediate announcement, because Jill is hoping to be pregnant and has mixed emotions about becoming a grandmother.

Also I never asking for cash is tacky. It's a class/generational take maybe, but I have no problem with people saying they prefer cash.
