What was up with Alyssa's denim cut-off overalls? That's how she dresses for a meeting with Chris and Pastor Cal? She looked so childish without a hint of style or self-awareness about how utterly foolish she looked. I stopped counting how many times she said "like" after I reached 19 in under two minutes. And just for good times she left with the tag line for her experience "I'm a really Fu**#$ing good person." Dream on. Now that she's mercifully out of the way and not taking up any more space I thought the other couples are starting to show some real glimpses into where their relationships are headed. K & O and S & N are the couples that seem to feel comfortable around each other. I think the 2 vs 3 kids drama is made a bigger deal for the show's narrative as is the other supposed conflict "my wife has to make home cooked meals everyday or else." Mark and Lindsay do not respect each other and don't seem to even like each other. Michael and Jazmina do not like each other at all. They are biding their time, paying their dues until the 8 weeks is up. They never laugh with each other or seem to have any fun at all. We'll see, but it seems right now that two couples will say yes on decision day and two will not. A lot can happen from now until that point but that's what my gut is telling me after last night's episode. I think Lindsey really likes Mark, but is now in self-defense mode, given Mark's post-coital "Let's cool it" posturing. I also think that the Shark is going to have to beg a bit next time, heh. 😉 Chris served a Master Chef dish of cold revenge to Alyssa, and it was delicious to see! 13 Link to comment

Plus, Chris wanted out and wasn't going to take "No" for an answer. KateHearts February 17, 2022 Share February 17, 2022 (edited) Ohh, Pastor Cal - you had an opportunity to get straight to the point with Alyssa and you BLEW IT! Alyssa, here is a list of things to think about: -just being in the same geographical location (and not flying home) does NOT constitute "putting your all into it" -telling producers you hate your new husband and calling him an asshole is NOT trying hard. Nor is placing producers between you and asking them to speak on your behalf -Refusing to stay in a room with Chris, refusing to talk to him, and then accusing him of being unkind is all kinds of f*$&%ed up. -saying "I'm a nice person!" 50 times does NOT make you a nice person. Quite the opposite, as we have seen. The only thing- only thing! - she said that had any meat to it was that she saw he posted something about defunding the police, which she disagreed with. I get that; but hey- you didn't open a discussion about it or delve into anything regarding beliefs and morals, yet you decide that is a deal-breaker? Oh right- I forgot about his dog. Lindsey- she makes me nervous with her overbearing personality and showy virtuous behavior ("we gotta throw the Keurig away; too much plastic.") Mark looks as if he himself is being chased by a shark- his eyes are popping out of his head all the time. I don't know why he went around and around instead of saying "hey, I like to mull my problems over a bit and figure things out myself- can you give me some space and I'll let you know if I need your advice"? She was kind of right about the run-on sentence. He could have also told her that she showed aggressive behavior on the plane that made him uncomfortable. He kind of did- but I honestly think it didn't bother him that much until he discussed it with the guys, and realized that they thought she had been way out of line. The other 3 couples are boring to me. O wants a traditional wife, ok. Michael seems broody and apparently "yells" off camera. Noi insists on 3 children. Whatever. *PETTY ANNOYANCE OF THE WEEK*: ladies, please invest in some good waterproof makeup and stop the skyward eye rolls and dabbing underneath your eyes when you cry, which you inevitably will if you enroll in this nonsense. One of my best friends shared a house for a year with her sister and brother-in-law (like, all 3 were on the lease) but that’s not the same as living with a man, and she probably would have said she’d never lived with a man if someone had asked her that then. I got Jasmina’s point when she said Michael should have chimed in when she told him she had a male roommate, but I didn’t think it was that serious. No I think going to the apartment and helping wasn't overly motherly. She was being a trooper and helpmate however, they both need to be aware they have lived on there own for a long time. They have been making decisions for and by themselves without consulting with anyone. They need to give each other a wide berth. They made it this far in their lives without needing anyone else. It is harder for people mid 30's and on ward to share a life with someone. If they are serious they need to get a real home or bigger place. Her apartment will lead to a murder crime scene. If I was to stat that as they say there odds are at 30% they will say yes in 7 weeks. 10% they are still married by reunion. I've been surprised though. I recall Jamie telling his wife to shut up. I gave that one 20% chance. 6 Link to comment

First they had one, then two, now often both partners have at least 2 or 3 pets each. It's out of control. In my opinion, it's because more and more younger people are pursuing careers and seeking fun before settling down, which often puts them well into their 30s before they marry and consider children. I think the parenting instinct is strong and can be translated onto pets, both as a way to fulfill that instinct as well as to be a "practice" for the real thing. All of my kids have had pets that are like children to them: son had 2 dogs (now has 2 kids); daughter has 3 cats and a dog (expecting first baby), and son who has been in a committed relationship for a few years and- they just got a dog (not ready for marriage or kids yet). 1 4 Link to comment

DrewPaul2010 February 17, 2022 Share February 17, 2022 So my two cents about the Chris and Alyssa saga. I do feel bad for Chris. He was truly ready to be a married man. His moving into the apartment and her deciding not to co-habit was the final red line. There was no road map available to salvage anything. Apparently she was willing to drag it out but not because there was any chance. When she claimed she was willing to engage he should have said okay when are you moving and when can we go on dates like normal people? Ultimately she ended the marriage within hours of meeting him. I can't stand how she continues to redeem herself. Alyssa... you're not a nice person, you're not a good human being. You're not a decent human being. People in those categories who agreed to do this show would have compassion (if nothing else) for the person they led to this precipice. Can you get more shallow and callous than to judge a person by their teeth? That seemed to be the decision maker for you, from then on you looked for any other excuse. The camera didn't lie you looked like a jerk because you are a jerk. 14 Link to comment

The feeling I got was that she glommed onto another thing that someone else said (i.e. the groomsmen saying he liked to debate) as another reason for her to act like a turd. Seems like she was just looking for a reason to be a beast. While getting into the elevator after the wedding: A: "I rescue dogs." C: "Great, I have a rescue dog I just saved a couple of months ago." A: "I am allergic to dogs. Well to your dog, not my dog." A" (to producer) "God, I hate him so much! He is so threatening! I feel triggered. Did you see his hand gestures when he pressed the elevator button? No way I can stay in the same room with him. I was ROBBED." ETA; Chris - your teeth are fine, you are adorable as-is. More likely she will be asked one question that "triggers' her and she will be out faster than Chris. So I just got around to watching and... Good Lord, Apocalyssa couldn't even leave gracefully. Chris quietly ends things with "I wish you well" and she can't respond in kind. Then she can't find her phone and as Chris finds it on the sofa, I noticed that she left a used tissue on the sofa. She didn't leave the ring behind either but I doubt she wore it. Maybe she pawned it? When it comes to ACE's "allergies" and "rescue dogs" - I don't think she fosters dogs (which is fine except that I think she maybe allows people to think that she does). She mentioned a "rescue mission" in passing which made me think that maybe she works with an organization that rescues strays in other countries and has volunteers that fly over, pick up the dog, and fly back with it. I have a friend who works with an organization that works this way in Puerto Rico. I'd guess that Alyssa's interaction with the dog is pretty limited - pick up the dog (who is possibly crated), escort it to wherever it's going, and turn it over to whoever is going to care for it. Or maybe she does social media work for a rescue? In any event, all volunteer labor for rescues is valuable but I don't put it past ACE to lead people to believe that she is hand-feeding starving puppies and comforting them when nightmares wake them in the middle of the night and I don't think that's, in fact, what she is doing. What was really evident to me is that everyone kept talking about ACE's desire to "be here." That was never the issue. ACE wanted to "be here." She just didn't want to be married to Chris - or anywhere near him for that matter. She wanted exactly the husband she wanted and when she didn't get that (which she decided as soon as she came around the corner and went down the aisle), she wanted the vacation, the apartment, the group activities, and the girl gang. I'm glad she didn't get most of that. I will say that the season is going to be a little more boring with her gone, but I won't miss her. She is a pill. 11 Link to comment

Madding crowd February 18, 2022 Share February 18, 2022 So my general comments: I'm sure the producers took pity on Chris and were fine with his decision to end things but it bothered me that Pastor Cal wouldn't come out and tell Alyssa that he was aware of the hateful things she said about her husband, she made zero effort to get to know him and she has no idea if they are compatible or not. He kind of made it seem like they were just not matched well which is not really the issue! Lindsey is way too bossy and never shuts up and I don't know who could handle that 24/7. And it is nice she wants to be a mother bear but Mark is not a child and doesn't need her to run his life. And let her try to throw away my Keurig! (there are reusable K cups which are not plastic). That being said there is something kind of sneaky about Mark and I think he has things going on that will probably come up and cause problems between the two. Steve and Noi: if Steve does not want to sleep with her dog he shouldn't be forced to. I am not a dog person myself and would not want to sleep with one. Noi seems kind of childish and her insistence on having exactly 3 kids is kind of silly. In terms of Steve, he is entitled to do what he wants as far as working/not working but I am surprised someone who wants to have a free lifestyle would go on MAFS because it is more set up for traditional lifestyles and Noi may not be able to provide benefits and salary for their family. I think O and Katina are Ok and she will cure him of his "food on the table" ways. I think they really like each other and are both nice people so i wish them well. Jasmina and Michael don't seem to like each other enough to really put in the effort here. i do think he was being evasive saying i have never lived with a woman when he could have easily said, " I have women roommates but never lived romantically with a woman" Those two could make it if they worked with a therapist on communication but I don't think Jasmina is all that interested in him. 3 Link to comment

DrewPaul2010 February 18, 2022 Share February 18, 2022 Quote So my general comments: I'm sure the producers took pity on Chris and were fine with his decision to end things but it bothered me that Pastor Cal wouldn't come out and tell Alyssa that he was aware of the hateful things she said about her husband, she made zero effort to get to know him and she has no idea if they are compatible or not. He kind of made it seem like they were just not matched well which is not really the issue! I think he was throwing a hail Mary and see if there was the slightest blip of a terminally ill marriage. Reminding her how shitty she was wasn't going to help. Chris could have gone for the jugular but he has a lot of class. I'm sure his dating app is going crazy. 5 Link to comment
Lindz February 18, 2022 Share February 18, 2022 (edited) O said HE was the reason they hadn't had sex. WOW! PLOT TWIST! I didn't see that coming! 😅 WHY didn't PC ask Steve & Noi if they'd consummated their marriage??? Edited February 18, 2022 by Lindz 1 1 Link to comment

Pastor Cal didn't buy for a minute her attempts to paint herself as a victim, and I got the impression her mother didn't either. The whole 'allergic to dogs' story was bullshit. Chris deserves so much better than her. She's probably pro-Global Warming because she thinks it will allow her to keep a year-round tan. 10 hours ago, Jax7917 said: I feel like the very first question the experts should ask the participants is : "is not being attracted to someone off the bat a deal breaker?" And then go more into it. Because so far EVERY season, there has been one or more people who can't get past the looks aspect of their new spouse. It's to the point where it's ridiculous because if the person is willing to marry someone they've never seen before, they shouldn't put looks on such a pedastal. You go on tinder to find someone you think is hot, not an arranged marriage show. I get for the producers, it's good for the drama/ratings, but these poor people like Chris , Paige, Mindy, Kate etc. are wasting their time trusting that people have their best interest at heart when they clearly do not. So, this is my theory. The people who sign up for this show THINK that they are not superficial. The ones who are unhappy with their mate usually have a delusional sense of their own attractiveness and are insulted that they were paired with "someone that looks like that". I am specifically talking about Chris from Atlanta's Chris/Paige and of course, Alyssa from this season. I thought Chris and Paige were fairly evenly matched looks wise but he thought differently. In all honesty, I thought Alyssa was quite pretty when we first met her. I thought Chris was average but liked his personality. I think he is quite intelligent and would have found her limiting had she actually given him a chance. In other words, he dodged a bullet. 9 hours ago, Racj82 said: Totally fair. Obviously I'm not a pet person. But, I understand the love and closeness a lot of people have with their pets. While I think it can be a little to obsessive at times, I respect it. But, when you are as rigid as Noi is right now, I have a problem. I'm also sure that the pet really doesn't give a damn long term. Oh no they can't! They won't! You created this dynamic. It's fine when you are on your own but you aren't anymore. I will also have this same energy when it comes to how Steve handles his job situation. If he can't bend to her need for security, that's not good either. I have had 2 dogs when I was growing up that lived to 15 and 17. I like animals and appreciate how you articulated the disturbing trend of people collecting animals like designer purses. I was particularly worried about drunken Virginia who partied every night and passed out on couches all the time but had animals that depended on her at home. It was no surprise to me that her dog was not trained and she found that cute. If you can not properly take care of an animal then please do not have them. Also, again, why did the experts match a carefree man who does not like picking up doggy poo with a woman who is so attached to her dog? I forgot...the answer is always...DRAMA!!!! 10 Link to comment

YES! She LIED TO HIS FACE, saying she wasn't staying at her apartment to take space! Then tells the camera she's staying at her apartment to take space. WTF?!!! THAT'S MESSED UP!!! I think people who don't stay in their joint apartment don't seem to want to be married. Atl-Chris, Zach, Haley... 🤔 Not looking good. 1 Link to comment
JapMo February 18, 2022 Share February 18, 2022 I also just had a chance to watch the show. A few observations: Lindsey didn't hear ONE WORD that Pastor Cal was saying. She also didn't really listen to what Mark was saying. She's agreeing with everything but all she's thinking about is what she's going to say. Her 'take me as I am or go eff yourself' is such a defensive shield that she's protected herself with for so long that she can't drop it for even a second to hear some constructive criticism. Even though Mark could be the best thing that ever happened to her, this marriage is doomed due to her inability to consider making some changes to her personality. Mark still cannot articulate what he really wants to say. He wants to tell Lindsey that she can be a very mean person and say very mean things and he does not like that...at all. Instead he says she steamrolls over him. Which she does, but it's not nearly the problem that her vicious tongue is. I hated to see in the previews that he stooped to her level when she got mad and said 'go run to your Mommy' and he turned and said 'have another drink'. Not cool. Loved Pastor Cal's facial expressions as he listened to Alyssa's BS. And he conveyed to Chris without using any words that he knew Chris was the innocent party and he was sorry they hooked him up with that witch. The first thing I'll remember 10 years from now when someone mentions her is the dab-dab-dabbing of her fake tears. Soooooo annoying. The lies she told her mother about Chris have all been exposed. She's going to need some kind of rescue after this. What a hot mess. 9 Link to comment
Crashcourse February 18, 2022 Share February 18, 2022 I thought Mark articulated his feelings to Lindsey very well, and he also made it very clear to her that he didn't like her antics on the flight. 4 Link to comment

Yes, he did talk about those things, but I still think he's holding back. When he tells her they need to slow things down, I honestly think he's actually trying to tell her 'you need to slow down and check your personality'. But he never seems to get it out right. 4 Link to comment
