this apt looks much larger than i remember.  it looked small when she was dating adam.

I feel like they only filmed Carole on that couch .  But yes, it's a gorgeous place.  There were scenes where she was remodelling and she showed her kitchen and a few other places.  The banquette area, etc.

So, did any one of these women buy and bring home any apples, apple pies, apple cider or apple cider donuts?

They all seemed so excited about that until they heard there was free wine.

Jules had an enormous house where they were adding a built in pool.... .  Also Carole's apartment was amazing , before and after her redecorating.

Well, it’s a matter of opinion.  I agree that the aftermath of Carole’s renovation made the apartment nice.  I am going back to what I remember from the show, which was closer to:

84C5BA2A-2747-484E-92C5-9BF151A589D1.jpeg.a68996b698542b9b3f85e903b4b55b2e.jpeg

It wasn’t my taste, with the ripped couch and the books in the oven, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

This is what Cindy’s apartment looked like on the show, which is what I mean when I say it doesn’t have to be Bethenny-level, but I think they should bring the real estate:

0726AB32-3C9E-4F37-AF00-FC2163346525.jpeg.5790b0116a20703a5b880b634f7f6688.jpeg

It’s still white, and maybe kind of plain, but it’s very clearly expensive to live there.

I’m only going off their NYC apartments, because this is Real Housewives of New York City.    If it had been Real Housewives of The Hamptons and The Berkshires, I would judge them based on the homes located there.  If they don’t have a home in New York City at all, whether renting or otherwise, I think they should not be on the show.

I grew up outside of New York City, and I’ve spent a ton of time there, and Leah’s and Dorinda’s apartments are not as nice as some of the apartments that I’ve been to, and I didn’t “run with a fabulous circle of people” (sorry, had to go there with Jill’s old tagline) and I want to tune into a show that has real estate to which I wouldn’t necessarily have access.

From what I understand, housing prices in San Francisco can be steeper than NYC.  If there was a Real Housewives of San Francisco and they all lived in tiny shoebox apartments, but had fabulous vacation homes by Napa and Sacramento, it would have the same dissonance for me.  I want to see luxury in the city that is named in the title of the show.

New York City isn’t that much more expensive than LA, and I feel like the women on RHBH with small, non-aspirational homes get dogged and are often off the show before long.  If they can find rich women in California, they can find rich women in New York.

I feel like RHNYC has skated on “personalities” for a lot longer, but now that they’re just getting drunk and screaming, at least drink and scream while you’re rich!

I see no reason to excuse such cruel behavior on her part by blaming it on grief.

Re-read my post. I didn’t. I don’t like the way she behaved, and I do not condone it, but I also can’t hate her for it, because I have sympathy for what she is going through.

I can’t quite extend the same amount of sympathy to Tinsley because I think there is an element of opportunism and dishonestly underneath her candy shell. This season she is signed up to be the punching bag. That’s what they’re paying her for.

I so agree plus he gave her a gravitas she doesn't have naturally and she's trying pretend she still has it.

Nah, I still don’t think Bethenny has the highest net worth of the NY wives. She’s got a ton of overhead in mortgages and I think the bloom is off the Skinny Girl brand as a whole. The jeans are horrendous and her pre-mixed alcohol drinks are passé.

Speaking of, Beth was on HSN tonight w/her Skinny Girl clothing

I need Ramona to explain to the camera one thing Dorinda has done for John and he clearly dotes on her. Even managed to get her luggage delivered when her drunk ass left it in his driveway where she used to park her car to avoid parking costs in the city!

Probably it's his exposure on the show  which I'm sure has  helped his cleaning business.

Man, Dorinda needs some serious weed: edibles, a blunt, bong-hits, whatever....just toss that broad some of the good kush and let her just tune in/drop out, because her angry drunk mafiosa routine just ain’t cute no more; “Calm down, take a Xanax” indeed!!

I think Dor’s getting all menopausal and it’s making her extra cranky; she seems to be having a bit of a midlife crisis of sorts and is taking it out on easy targets like Tinsley or even formerly John.
And I also don’t think she’s grieving Richard so much as she’s still grieving the safety/security, companionship and respectable upscale lifestyle/identity he once provided her.

Maybe she’d once even thought after his death that she’d eventually find another man as amazing as Richard?
Yet she knows she can’t compete anymore with monied younger chicks like Tinsley and her seemingly carefree upscale lifestyle, so she’s taking all her aggressively lonely bitterness out on Tinz.

Methinks Tinsley triggers a longtime insecurity within Dorinda; Dor wasn’t born into money/good stock like Tinsley, but luckily married into it. I’m sure Dorinda has known a few similar Tinsley types over the years, but now that she’s getting older/more bitter and is forced to regularly interact with Tinsley, the old green-eyed monster is getting the best of her and she resents having to even be polite to Tinsley anymore, especially after the drinks go down.

I think she and Sonja share a similarly seething resentment/jealousy of Tinsley for the exact same reasons; Dorinda is just openly nastier and aggressive about it.

At the end of the day, D & T need to just let bygones be bygones and accept that they simply aren’t meant to be friends: Dor will always think Tinz is a shallow pampered princess, Tinz will always think Dor is a hypocritical old bitch, so just move on already.

Hell, they could learn something from Lu and Bethenny; those two were quite content to remain as frenemies over the seasons and had no problem admitting it.

Speaking of Lu, way to show off that snooty Cuntess entitlement we all love/hate her for at Leah’s apartment! Sheesh, she acted like the place was a hovel in Skid Row or something; and that was a niceassed place for Manhattan.

Problem is, Leah obviously can’t decorate for shit; her decor is a hodge-podge afterthought. No shame in that, but she certainly should’ve consulted an interior designer or something beforehand if she knew she was going to show her apartment on national television; she may not be the 1%, but I’d bet she at least had enough dough handy to spruce the place up a bit just for filming.

Most of us know that chic home decor can be achieved on a budget, btw; Leah proves that some people just don’t care all that much about home decor period(lest we forget Carrie Bradshaw’s infamous crappily-decorated-yet-still-niceassed Manhattan apartment).

Speaking of niceassed apartments, I always drooled over Carole’s West Village loft: even before she glammed it up it was stunning! That place is huge by NYC standards, ditto Kelly’s beautiful downtown loft. RIP Bethenny’s former Soho loft...I adored that joint about as much as her current place.

I too miss all the awesome home porn we used to get from this show...although apparently Scott’s Chicago penthouse is huge and gloriously modern, so I love that Tinsley gets the last laugh as his fiancée; wish we could finally see a tour of the place!

As for Sonja with the bladder as loose as her morals, let’s not forget that this is the same woman who openly bragged several seasons ago about wearing adult diapers while traveling so she wouldn’t have to make so many bathroom trips.
Apparently she only visits public restrooms when she needs to have sex on their sinks!

These women all need a few sessions with Martin the boxer. I was howling with him trying to counsel Dinsdale about her problems with Dorito and trying to keep her from punching him in the nuts.

I think Tinsley has a case of arrested development.  Maybe her life of privilege has resulted in her emotional immaturity. And I can understand how annoying that could be to engage with, but she is not a mean person.

I feel no sympathy for Dorinda anymore. She needs to climb off the pity pot and maybe put the wine glass down. She is an angry, mean bitter bully. My life sure hasn't turned out the way I had hoped, and neither has it for nearly everybody else I know, and none of us are whining about how unfair it is all.the.damn.time. Not always easy, but we just deal with it and get on with life.

I don't understand why Leah would give the master bedroom to her kid who is only there half the time.

I am not nearly as amused as Leah is by Turnip Sonja. She is a sloppy gross drunk. But I am not really a fan of Ms. Morgan, either.

And God bless Ramona for being a supportive and empathetic friend to Dorinda. Not sure why this Elyse is hanging around, but I don't hate her. She keeps it real.

We all have relatives and friends who have lost their spouse. And some of the posters here have shared that they have lost their spouse. My sincere sympathy to everyone who has gone through such a terrible loss.

However, of all the friends and relatives I have who have lost spouses, no one - not one - has treated people the way Dorinda does. And not to make comparisons, but my mom lost the love of her life (my dad) unexpectedly after 45 years of marriage. Over the next 11 years (not much different than the time Dorinda has been a widow) she developed breast cancer twice, suffered a stroke where she lost her ability to speak, developed other illnesses including seizure disorder, and died of pancreatic cancer. She lived those last 11 years with grace, kindness, and dignity. Because that is who she was.  Dorinda is a mean person because that is who she

Taking my somewhat emotional response to Small Talk . . .

Back to the snark - "Wealth whispers," Dorinda. Why don't you? And when did Ramona become the all-wise confidant?

I believe they are jealous of Yinsley, though I think it's because she is born into a life they married into and lost once their husband's were gone.

I also believecit when I see it, Tinsley and Scott marrying. I don't even know why she'd want to marry someone so unreliable.

And fuck you, snotty Countless. Leah earned that apartment you look down on, by herself. She didn't marry into wealth like you did, and then put up with an unwanted open marriage to try to cling on to said wealth.

Who goes into someone’s home and says they need a bigger coffee table?  What balls.  Leah is a single Mom on her own, and rents are high in the village.  La Countessa has no class or heart.

I'm really hoping that this is the season where everyone holds Dorinda's feet to the fire.  I think she's kind of skated through because her anger can sometimes be funny for viewers, and previous seasons had Sonja's depressing delusions, Bethenny's meltdowns, and Luann's high-handed arrogance.  But by now, everyone on and off the show has learned what happens when Dorinda gets drunk and vicious.

Tinsley's defense of herself this episode was perfectly coherent, and it's a shame that everyone dismissed her because her vocal pitch was "too high" for their liking.  Also interesting for Ramona to confirm that she's afraid of Dorinda.

What’s it going to take to get this maniac off my t.v.?  Enough is enough already.  One minute she’s crying hysterically, the next she’s laughing and joking like nothing happened.  Typical of a woman that needs help.

I think she is implying that the show helped his business because for them money is love . Even if it did, that's the kind of thing you do for someone you love--you give.   Dorinda only loves herself.  "What about ME!" is stamped on her forehead- like a tattoo.   Narcissism  seems to be a problem with almost all of them. I had to laugh when Dorinda and Sonja said they need to START focusing on themselves!  That is the ONLY thing they focus on already.  Then Sonja said yes: who needs to worry about where a man is when not around.   That's not a shift from caring for others and worrying about cheating is not loving.  No relationship could sustain such self involvement.  I think Dorinda beat John down and no matter what he did he could not win.  She insults him on TV and Ramona could not wait to break them up rubbing Dorinda's face in the fact that John likes the attention of other women who really make it "NICE".

Love you!

I'm good--not like Dorinda.  I think what she did last night was horrible.  But I also think that even if it is 11 years later, she should see a grief counselor and quit drinking.  She really, really needs a coping skill of some sort.

Because while society thinks there is a timetable to "get over it", you never do when it comes to the death of a child or the love of your life.  But you do need to learn how to cope with it, live with it and move forward.

Which Dorinda clearly hasn't done.

She hasn't always been this angry on the show.  I mean, what?  2/3 years ago, she was a show favorite.  It feels like last year, we started to see this over the top nasty version.

Quit drinking and find a good grief therapist.  Go back to making it nice.

IAlso, shifting the conversation to Tinsley makes it seem like she somehow deserves the treatment she's getting from Dorinda. She doesn't. One doesn't have to like her to see that Dorinda's targeting of her is perverse and wrong. Dorinda, the bully that she is, used the abuser's excuse in last night's episode - a version of "look what she made me do" - because that is who she is.

And even if somehow Tinsley's behavior justified Dorinda's cruelty, we have seen similar outbursts in the past focused on Lu, Beth, Barbara, and it looks like Ramona in next week's episode. The common denominator is Dorinda, not the behavior of the other women.

These women are paid to bring the drama. Bringing the drama is how they get a contract for another season. If any of you follow Southern Charm, three of their main cast members did not re-up because they did not want to be part of the drama the producers were planning for the forthcoming season. I think RHoNY is exactly the same. I don’t like the fighting at all and I don’t like the words they use. But I also don’t believe what I am watching on my screen is real. I agree it’s getting uncomfortable, and I don’t really like the storyline. But I’m not going to hate on Dorinda or Tinsley because of it. I think a lot of people confuse hating a character and hating a person and they want to condemn Dorinda for her bad behavior, when she’s pretty much being paid to act that way. They are paid to be awful, and that’s why we’re all in here talking about it and continuing to watch. As for Tinsley, I wish the producers would have her standing up for herself and using her words instead of 30 second bouts of screaming. That’s all I got. Not discussing it further.

I just remembered, there was a episode back when Carole was still on the show where her and Dorinda went to England to get Caroles husbands ashes. They both did a kind of mourning of both their husbands deaths because Dorinda and Richard had lived in England for a time.
So apparently Dorinda did not mourn Richard enough. She should go get counseling for sure.

She is using John/Richard  as a crutch to be able to drink and do these horrible things .... This is her get out of jail free card for being nasty... you try to stop her and her first response is MY HUSBAND DIED .... No sweaty that's not an excuse ..... you dont get to treat people like shit because of that .... at some point I'm gonna say it again she needs to be held accountable for this shit ...

The other thing about Dorinda is she really doesn’t feel bad about her behavior.  She’s still going after Tinsley today on Twitter.  I still cringe when I think back to her public takedown of Luanne.  And she’s gone after someone every year.  She went after Heather over nothing in her first season and she got really nasty.

We keep talking about Richard like somehow his death made her this way, but for all we know, she was always an asshole.

Gonna respond in Dorinda's thread.

Feeling sad or depressed is not license to emotionally attack someone. Dorinda is an entitled mean girl. Like, literally shame on her. If Richard was half the man she made him out to be, he would be mortified by Dorinda’s behavior.

This show has fallen into the deep end. Watching 2 women end their “sobriety “, and witnessing Dorinda losing her mind is not entertaining at all.

My Dorinda theory:

Dorinda became obsessed with Tinsley's on/off relationship w/Scott & furious w/Tinsley about its ending bc it meant no more Coupon Cabin commercials for Dorinda's ego to twirl about in.  She'll never forgive Tinsley for stealing her chance for stardom away from her -- she was one commercial away from being Meryl Streep!

Are we all witnessing Ramona as the voice of reason? Crazy, right?

If Tinsley would stop trying to answer back to Dorinda, Dorinda would have nothing to get loud about.  I find that the louder someone is, the less they have to say. Tinsley should know by now that she should let Dorinda yell all she wants and in the end Dorinda will look foolish.

Also, I cannot take Sonja's drunken coarseness anymore, it is not clever or entertaining, it is sad and unwanted.  She tries for the shock value and it just comes off looking pathetic, enough already, nobody is that horny, Sonja telling everyone she got pounded hard, (ick, do we think she calls on a male prostitute?) who talks like that?

The scene with Tinsley and the boxing coach was insipid, she cannot even come up with a real tear, that guy could not care less about her life.

I am redirecting my anger today to the HW's, Maryland Unemployment systems are broken and I have been pushed to the brink of my sanity. Sorry.
