Simone can lose me. I don't know WHY two girls on this boat have been into Tanner, but technically he WAS flirting with Kate first. And Simone did not get "played" by Tanner. He never treated her with an iota of respect, or even pretended to. And she just kept running back into his sweaty bed. 

Look, I don't really like Rhylee that much. She doesn't know when to quit. She makes everything an issue, and makes actual issues into gigantic problems. However, when I see grown men refusing to scoot over so she can sit down, I almost can't blame her.

Same with Kate. Of course it's fucking ridiculous that she's trying to ban the guys from the interior. But these brus have been at her all season. 

In fact, that's what pissed me off the most about Rhylee this episode - she acted like she was the only victim of this crap. But Kate has been dealing with it too. And I think that set Kate off, because she's HAD Rhylee's back. 

Courtney's face in regard to the scorpion - that would be me. 

And Kevin taking all the fucking food! For whom??? None of that seemed like "sexy" food. He's just an ass. 

Courtney needs to just cut her losses and write Bryan off. He is always gonna take his bro's side over her. But it's not okay if she doesn't back them all up too. It's stupid.

I noticed that Ashton has never tried to come at Simone sideways. He didn’t even try to fight back when she basically told him he was being a moron. I guess he draws the line when it comes to his fellow South Africans.

I really had no idea what Rhylee was trying to do at that market stand with Kevin.  She was being weirdly aggressive with him, and doesn't really have the type of relationship with him where she could play it off as just having some fun. 

Here is what I will say: Ashton, Brian and Tanner are kind of terrible with Rhylee.  However, she also seems to take minor situations and blow them up into major battles when they don't need to be.

Well, that should have been the episode description.  

The worst part of all of this is that the women are all going off their edges because of these jerk-offs.  They are all soooo impressed with each other, these men - they all sit there, talking big game and puffing up their chests and egos to each other.  The women would have been smarter to just laugh in their faces and not give them more fodder.

Rhylee is a hard worker and she wants to learn. With the right manager I think she could thrive. But it would be hard to find a 25 year old (or thereabouts) bosun with those kind of managerial skills. She would probably do better with a more hands-on captain.

Rhylee did that last season as well.  I agree that the guys have been awful to her this season, but I don't think you could argue that Ryhlee acts the way she does solely because the brus have been awful.

It is as Captain Lee said - they are BOTH wrong (Rhylee and collectively, all the of guys).

Rhylee looks for an argument or fight in every conversation, and the guys are more than willing to have a go at her.  Rhylee is a very combative personality and she has an extremely hot temper.  She also could give lessons in passive-aggressive behaviors.  She is a master at muttering comments under her breath, but just loud enough for the other person to hear.  She passively-aggressively throws down a gauntlet, almost daring someone to pick it up.  And when someone does picks it up, she goes in the for the kill.  She really doesn't do herself any favors displaying anger all the time.  She's exhausting!!  She would be much better off if she could learn to control her temper and have discussions instead of arguments all the time.

The guys, collectively, have decided that Rhylee is the enemy, she is the "cancer" (as Ashton so horribly compared her to) on the ship.  They decided, before even meeting her, because of Ashton, that she is to be ridiculed, disliked and excluded.  They didn't even give her a chance or tried to get to know her.  Who knows - if Tanner flirted or gave her half a minute of attention, she probably would have fallen into bed with him, like she did with that replacement deckhand last season (and, we all saw how that played out - she was a very happy camper when she was getting some sexual relief).  

I'm soooo not a Rhylee fan, but I admit - I felt very, very badly for her when those assholes wouldn't even make room for her to sit at the table.  It's like they were looking to Ashton for his approval before any of them decided to move.  It was sad seeing her sitting on the floor of her bunk, eating lunch alone.  

On the other hand, Rhylee does always come in hot, and you never know what you're going to get with her.

I'm just so over all of this - it's been a stressful, not fun season of Below Deck.  I hope they do have a reunion, just to see if any of this is resolved.

Ummm, yes, I can.  Ashton's feelings about Rhylee being on the boat were made clear to the other crew members the minute he knew she was coming.  Ashton is also the only crew member from last season, who disagreed with Rhylee staying, and Chandler leaving.  And Chandler treated her terribly last season.  Ashton has set the tone for the behavior by his crew on that boat and its disgusting.  We saw the way he manages his crew on full display tonight when they were talking about Kate.  A crew doesn't just talk about a superior that way unless the standard has been set from above, which it has by Asston.  

Rhylee may not be everybody's cup of tea, but we've seen her work her butt off and the guests love her.

I wondered about that, too.  Maybe Ashton's "charms" don't work on Simone because she's met many other guys just like him while she was growing up, she's not impressed and she let him know that?  

It is weird that we hardly see any type of interaction between Ashton and Simone, at all.

Also, I don't think someone should be asking another guy if a woman is being too much of a bitch to stick his dick in her.  (I think it was Brian who said that to Tanner, regarding Kate.)  I've got to give these guys credit - they are all certainly EXTREMELY comfortable in front of cameras - they all say whatever the hell they want without thinking of the consequences.

The thing that really, really galls me about Brian and Kevin is that they both have young daughters.  I'm sure they would not appreciate hearing some douche talking to or about their daughters in that manner in 15 years or so.  Isn't fatherhood supposed to help you grow up and stop the douchery?

Soooooo.  I still don't like the men or the women on this yacht.  Every season they have a couple of people who balance out the drama people.  Every body is drama this season.  I'm exhausted watching no one have fun.

I have mixed feelings about the cat, with glasses, in a carry thingy.  I can't decide if it was freaked out or the glasses enhanced the eyes.  I can't decide if the cat was mortified by yacht crew behavior in public. I can't decide if the cat was comfortable in that position.   

IF the cat was comfortable and chill, then that was the only fun moment for me tonight.

She came up AFTER he was in the middle of making his purchase.  I bet there are other stands selling scorpions.

So what if Kevin went to talk about this incident?  Why give the boys fodder to talk shit?  Same goes for Kate, if you don’t like being talked about, don’t give them reasons to.

Interesting that they tried to deescalate, not raise their voices, but of course she pursued it.  Even Kate was telling her to be quiet and of course she snapped at her.

Must have been Kate’s misogyny which made her snap.

 

Then at the crew mess, nobody was in a hurry to make room except maybe Courtney, because they don’t want to sit down and eat with her.

Its petty but it’s also their prerogative, given that they’ve had confrontations with her.  Even if those were entirely their fault, which they weren’t, they have a right to choose whom they hang out with.

But Tanner gave up his seat finally and she just pouted and stormed off to her room.

Did she really expect that they’d be flat to sit down and eat with her, after all the screaming matches?  The world will treat you like you treat it.  If they’re misogynous assholes, why ask them to make room for her?  There wasn’t that much room and finally Tanner moved off to the bar to eat by himself.

Simone, Kate was laughing with you, not at you about the broken glass. Not everything is a slight at you. Frankly, her laugh sounded like the exhausted laugh I get after a big work event that took months to plan, or extremely stressful few weeks at work where like basically anything, even if it's not actually funny, makes you giggle like a hyena.
