I thought that was a weird line as well. Especially considering that we got references to people like Molly being at the funeral but needing to leave right afterwards which explained her absence at the reception. Alexis must have done the same since she was at the funeral if she saw the flowers. One would think Kristina could at least made an appearance since she was in town.

Kristina said something about making up hours since she's going away on a bartending seminar and she'll miss some time.  But yes, considering he's related to her and she's the one who found him in the alley and we didn't need to physically see her the same as with Molly, twas an odd writing choice.  Although it was clearly to have her and Alexis argue about something else.

They specifically showed part of the shooter’s coat which made me think it was either something we are supposed to recognize and/or confirming the assailant was a woman.  Holly being brainwashed could be it.  Lucy definitely recognized the person but she didn’t seem especially shocked to see them. I expect she would have been more shocked to see Holly, someone she hasn’t seen in years.

Michael feels that Drew should have been CEO of the merged company because he would have brought the largest stake in? There is no way that Aurora would be larger than ELQ especially considering that a large part was sold to Jax and the Invader sold to that other mysterious company.

He actually said "that's how business works" which just shows how little he knows.  Ned was working at ELQ when Michael was a Red Menace running around town ~accidentally shooting innocent people.  Shut up, you punk-ass bitch.

Would it kill Olivia to just once 100% side with her husband?  And picking that nasty fight with Nina for zero reason.  Are we supposed to think she's a badass?

The Invader was never a part of Aurora.  Peter did work for Drew at Aurora,  but no longer worked there after it was revealed that Peter was Faison's son. Peter attempted to turn a new leaf and he bought The Invader and hired Girl Reporter (never get tired of using that). Peter sold the Invader to a mysterious company when he had planned to kidnap a pregnant Maxie and leave Port Charles. Later that mysterious company sold The Invader to Shawn.

I think Holly being under Victor control will be a good way to get her off screen later too - they discover she's under mind control, send her away for treatment so Emma Samms is free to come back in the future if need or want be.

A show that doesn't have enough money for extras at a big school event or a fundraising BBQ -- but they have enough to send Drew and Carly to the seashore for Carly to spread Virginia's ashes.  (That's pretty quick work there getting her unburied and cremated.)

I'm sick of Mason sliming around the hospital and no information other than this mysterious female boss. Play this out or pull the plug on it.

I'm not a Holly fan (Ethan should be Robert's dammit) but her return has been handled well so far.

Victor ups  his anti-Anna game and gets the incompetent ADA on his side. She wants to arrest Anna for Lucy's shooting; isn't that Robert's call?  Martin is all on board for Anna to be punished.

Brook Lynn deleted the letter supporting Chase's reinstatement as a detective as Chase was telling Ned how much he wants to go back. Hopefully that will come back to bite her.

Is that legal?  I vaguely recall you can't dump ashes in the Grand Canyon, and there are special vacuums used at Disney for when idiots dump cremains there.

Edited: You can dump ashes in the Grand Canyon, but you need permission.  "Many states also have laws related to spreading ashes that prohibit cremains from being scattered on beaches or shorelines. Some states, such as California, do permit it as long as you’re 500 yards from shore."  There was also mention of digging holes near the water and putting the cremains in there, allowing them to disperse when the tide comes in.  I'm never building sandcastles again.

I could not focus on their dialogue AT ALL because I felt so insulted as a viewer that there would be no attempts to screen the cliffs, rocky waters, etc.

I loved Portia’s outfit yesterday.  Really great color on her and the earrings and updo were really flattering.

Its not Curtis’ place to mansplain to Sonny anything about getting genetic testing.  They are not close friends so why is Curtis asking for Sonny’s advice?

Forgot to add….really good soap screaming by Esme and Willow the past few days.  That’s not easy to do!

BL is trash. Normally I don’t mind schemers but Chase is such a puppy dog and has made it clear more than once that he wants nothing more than to be a cop again. Also, what exactly is stopping him from being a singer part time if he truly ends up liking it? This show has had plenty of singers with day job, like her own father for instance. I don’t understand the scheme with Linc anyway or what her plan is.

I ffwded Carly/Drew because I’ve given up hope that they can play anything interesting but hope their fans liked the beach.

Is Holly brainwashed? I saw that she put Robert’s phone in DND so Anna’s calls couldn’t come through.

BL is a selfish and trash girlfriend. I hope that email Chase received from Dante was nothing more than him being copied on it and that it was going to the panel that's supposed to hear this case. They dragged this whole thing with misunderstandings and hesitations and high school shenanigans. They finally put them together for BL to do something incredibly mean and selfish.

Chase and BL were at their best as a non-couple when they were raising Bailey together. This version of the couple is just so bad.

Oh, Carly/Drewfus had a location shoot. Even that's not going to make me like them or root for them. I saw a screencap of LW and CM doing an interview with ET and Drew/Carly being called GH's next supercouple. 

Like seriously. 

Olivia standing there fangirling at Holly was sort of weird. Holly putting Robert's phone on do not disturb is kind of a red flag. I'm going to stand by my original thought that she has been brainwashed by Victor and that she's the one who shot Lucy on the pier. I think she's under orders and that she was ordered to reunite with Robert as her next act.

Anna running after Victor in the interrogation room and him fleeing her was comedy gold. Anna is a 100lbs soaking wet, Victor. CS's acting choice of being terrified of Anna was really hilarious.

And of course she's being framed. Dare I think that they are about to bring back those cheesy Anna masks?

What I don't believe is Anna, trained spy, was so easily manipulated into losing her cool. Even knowing that Victor is pulling the strings she acts out. That's pure plot point writing. 

And those drone shots and that dress were doing LW no favors at all. There was one shot where she was looking out at the ocean, and the drone was clearly shooting up at her, and from that angle, she looked like she had a significant gut. I know she doesn't, but yikes! Those drone shots were NOT flattering.

The second I saw the Jacksonville Beach I started laughing if that was supposed to be Florida.  Desert rocky mountain terrain. How ridiculous,. They paid for a location shoot to pretend that's Florida beach?

Sorry, not even expensive drone shoots are going to convince me Carly and Drew are remotely exciting. If they start giving as much screen time to them as they gave to Sonny/Carly, it will raise this show to new heights of vomitous tedium. The only possible pay off will be if six months from now when Drew is firmly ensconced in Carly's house/bed, Jason knocks on the door. Cut to Carly coming down the stairs with Drew's suitcase and shoving him out. "Sorry Drew, but you know the drill!"

How old is chase? About 40? Why would he be the next big thing? New singers are under 40.

I've never been to Florida, but it certainly didn't look like what I imagine the Florida coast might look like. If they had kept the images more closely cropped to concentrate on the sand and water, they might have given it a more realistic look.

The irony is, they really could have set this story anywhere. Yes, Carly and her mother once lived in Jacksonville, but her mother could have always wanted to be buried anywhere. Weather could have interrupted Carly's flight and forced it to land anywhere. There could have been a moving-the-cemetery issue anywhere. Anywhere could have ended up being someplace with rocks and cliffs.

The only thing they couldn't get without a contortion or two was another tongue bath for Carly. But even bad writers should have been able to come up with some reason for a character from Carly's past to be wherever she landed.

It was really quite a leap. All she witnessed was a hug. I saw Nina giving Sasha a hug recently. I guess I should conclude they’re also having an affair? 

The entire beach scene was eye-rollingly ridiculous. And pointless. Did Virginia (a character we’ve never even seen) need such an elaborate send-off? Even Mike didn’t get a Soaring Ashes/ Tear-Stained Sonny at the Edge of a Cliff farewell.  I can only assume this happened because LW and CM negotiated a beach day.

I have to give them bonus Cheese Points, though. They pulled out all the stops, from the swelling music to the sweeping overhead shots to the gently flowing hair and garments. They covered the entire Harlequin to-do list. 

I was also amused by Drew waiting “right here” so Carly could have her privacy for the actual scattering and final words. Except she only moved about 3 feet away, presumably so they could both remain in shot. Nothing about this beach sequence was anything but laughable.

It crossed over into "so bad it's good" for me. I couldn't believe my eyes, yet I wanted it to get worse and worse.

Now I want them to go full "late '80s" with Carly and Drewfus. I want them to hang around in Florida for another week or two and have a cheesy musical montage. Carly and Drew in bumper cars. Carly and Drew eating ice cream together and laughing because they're getting the ice cream on their faces. Carly and Drew on a tandem bicycle, seeing the sights; an elderly couple smiling as Carly and Drew pass. Carly and Drew walking by the Church of Scientology, and Carly pulling Drew away from a girl with pamphlets. While all this is going on, there has to be some cavity-inducing R&B-lite song we've never heard before, with saxophone. shimmering keyboards, and a guy singing lyrics like "Free to be together, from this happy moment on." (I cheated. That was an actual song used for a montage of Vivica A. Fox and Kristoff St. John on Generations.) 

And they should just cut randomly to this gooey filler while all the murders and leukemia and Maxie's clothes and whatnot are going on back in Port Charles.

It’s totally out of character for her as well.  I guess they are trying to make her a villain in some way since she’s been the resident punching bag for so long.
