  1. Past hour
  2. I dunno, I've always found there to be something vaguely creepy about Thomas Lennon. I get Kevin Spacey vibes from him.
  3. But why? Perishable stuff goes in the refrigerator -- what is so hard for someone to understand? And what the hell does someone think will happen because a dog's food is in there? It's not like it's plopped in there, just loose on the shelf. Luckily/hopefully, these assholes are limited to commercials; I'd like to believe that I don't know an actual human who has this issue. I wouldn't sever ties with someone who was initially confused. But I would if they believed that I shouldn't store my dog's properly. I put my cats; food in the refrigerator. No one cares!
  4. I was surprised that Rod, Danny, and Vinny all did the roadblock this episode. It didn't seem like the welding task was physically taxing, nor did it seem like the people who had done it before had a massive advantage over the ones who hadn't. This seemed like a good one to hand off to the partner who is less athletic and generally less confident at doing tasks. I've always kind of liked them. Leticia has a low-key personality that nicely complements her husband's boundless enthusiasm. They appear to work together well and even like each other. Mind you, she said they've been together 13 years—couples who have been together that long (and aren't using the race as therapy) generally don't take the stress of the race out on each other. I'm with everyone who hopes that Amber and Vinny go their separate ways. I'm inclined to agree that he is the more competent racer, but I also think he sucks as a person and the way he positions himself as her mentor/coach/whatever really grosses me out. I find couples with that dynamic inherently uncomfortable to watch or be around. Partners should see each other as equals, not improvement projects.
  5. I wouldn’t go as far as to call the men good but Brennan, Austin and Michael weren’t bad guys. Brennan got matched with an absolute nightmare of a woman who had no business being on the show. A drunkard who is prone to one night stands and is mean on top of everything else. Austin got matched with someone who sat around and cried and without much drive other than her sex drive. I don’t know if he was never attracted to her or if he was and then when he observed her behavior it dwindled but she wasn’t a good match for him. I haven’t watched the roommate segment yet but that lady looks more his speed and she seems to have some pep in her step unlike pink haired Becca.
  6. Mrs farnsby is dating Bjorn. Pete doesn’t need more problems with Thor.
  7. One thing I can’t stand is when someone says after all I’ve done for them! Sonny is the king of saying this. His answer to what would he do when his kids find out he’s a gangster was I’ll protect them. Always the narcissist. What would you say to them? He can’t dimple smile his way out of those questions.
  8. Agreed. I thought this was phenomenal, and demonstrating Donny's infuriating behavior was the whole point. I'm so relieved they never gave him some big fake heroic moment to make him finally "likable," and even that they showed how far from healing he was, even in the end. Very honest. Yes, I thought they did a great job illustrating why she "picked" Donny. (And of course at the same time, it's wrong-headed to assume that abusers can only pick someone understandably appealing. That's not how these fixations work!) Me too -- obviously Donny is light years from turning into a Martha, but after all his own hurtful, damaging behavior he had the compassion to understand the trauma that could've led someone else to it as well. Possibly my favorite series of 2024 so far.
  9. Roasted beet success. Thank you, Ina! Much to my surprise, The Fresh Market didn't have beets when I was there on Monday for their BOGO fish cakes. I got some at my regular store yesterday. I'd forgotten I have these flexible plastic cutting boards I bought when B cubed had brick and mortar stores. I wore gloves and used the flexible cutting board to prep. They came out great.
  10. The empty nesters moving into the nudist colony were something else. Didn't know that people were in the nude 24/7, especially ones out playing sports. Guess I've led a shelter life.
  11. Either commercials or Jay has brought Sonic food home and all of the ghosts got to smell it!
  12. We just found out that she was a line cook during her summers beside learning how to cook from her grandmother. I am wondering if she is going to develop enough experience as the Q cook so she can be hired later at the Metrocourt to help them get back their 5th star. I sure this is so that Cody and Sasha can continue hanging out together during work now that they are no longer spoke models for Deception.
  13. Former DCC Ashlee is now the show team director for the USA Cheerleaders. https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=823163936523543&set=a.553592520147354 Probably will have an entirely new team seeing most of the girls and their director, Jourdyn went to the Dallas Jackals Dance team.
  14. Gerry Turner's daughter calls out fan 'rage and cruelty' after “Golden Bachelor ”divorce (msn.com)
  15. This reminded me of when I asked my son something similar about a math class he was taking. I didn't know what the title of the course even meant, so I told him to dumb it down and he sighed and simply said, " really hard math." 😄 I think it's a little bit of all of these. She has slowly seen how Sheldon is becoming more independent, and I think she knows that to keep him home is really detrimental to him, and it would be unfair to stifle him academically. Also, I liken it to when your teenager starts driving a car. The first couple of years are full of anxiety, but over time you get used to it. You don't necessarily like it, but the anxiety lessens, and you get more used to it. Mary has had some time to get used to this change, and although she will still have worries and won't like it, she is ready to let him go off to college. I'm so glad that they course-corrected this show away from George having an affair to someone quite likeable (as he was at the beginning of the show) and quite capable of handling certain things for Sheldon. I'm also happy that Mary followed his lead in the interviewing process.
  16. Even though I find her to be rather cold, I think I understand her reticence to say the vows. She’s taxed out from the attempts to get pregnant, and worried they’ll end up hating/blaming each other. She’s much more relaxed and happy this season, now that the pressure is off. Who knows? Maybe the season will end in a wedding. I agree, they’re involving themselves in the community more and that community is the main reason I’ve come to love this show as much as DiP-the quirky inhabitants!
  17. Another rerun. August 10, 2022 / July 18, 2023
  18. TV commercials. John Hartman (Nigel) has been a part time ghost/actor. If he's offered a bigger role on another show, maybe they will have him get sucked off after the wedding? Like you pointed out, @PaulE, Nigel had a pretty fulfilling life for his time. So getting married might be all he still desires (if fulfilling desires has anything to do with a ghost getting sucked off, but it seemed to for Attic Girl's Basement boyfriend). Or, maybe he'll get a somewhat expanded role as he and Brandon Scott Jones (Isaac) work out their differences.
  19. Well, that I can understand! The show could have explained it in that way instead of being all artsy and new-agey. It the difference between being direct and clear and being pretentious. I just realized that that is what the show, Chopped is all about.
  20. No you can't. The outside pieces can look just like the inside piece. For example the upper middle piece turned 90° to the right could absolutely be mistaken to fit in the center slot. I think what you don't get is that every piece has 4 different possible rotations in 9 different spots, which theoretically shakes out to 262.144 different combinations. Of course roads can't go off the map, which narrows it down, but not by that much. This puzzle is deceptively hard, especially without a fixed starting location. If commenters can't figure that out from the comfort of their couch, I don't begrudge racers for not figuring it out in the south american heat.
  21. "LET'S GO!!!" is this season's "C'MON DAD!!" (Not as annoying, but still annoys! 😁) Vinny might be the type who gets mean and lashes out when he's stressed and in a hurry and exhausted, as I'm sure the are. Then afterwards doesn't fully realize what a jerk he's been. Meanwhile Amber tends to whine and say she can't do things, which is no excuse for him to be a jerk, but it adds gas to that fire. She needs a nurturer/encourager when under pressure and he needs someone who gets hyper-focused and aggressive like he does.
  22. Warning- NFL Draft starts an hour earlier tonight and might muck up some of your Jeopardy TV schedules. In NYC on Ch. 7 I see it listed for 3:40 am.
  23. I can't recall if this was mentioned in a previous episode, but when Flower said she wanted to revisit Jay's "spice cabinet", I wondered if that is where he keeps his pot?
  24. After Katrina, one of my employees volunteered for the Corps of Engineers BlueRoof project and was sent to southeastern Texas. The houses there didn't have street addresses. Watching two or more teams drive aimlessly around for 90 minutes is not compelling TV, it's boring TV.
  25. She'll tell Pete that she did and he's naive enough to believe her! He's very trusting. Although the ghosts want Pete to travel and tell them about his adventures, this could backfire on him, and they could become resentful. Some people can only handle so much good happening to someone else before they get jealous and resentful. That sounds terrible, but sadly, that's the way some people are. That's what I thought, too. Sam wanted him to go and probably he would have refused if she hadn't agreed to pay his expenses, so she just lied about it. (We already know she knows how to lie.) I think that even Jay, despite his affection for Pete, would object to her actually wasting their money like that. Speaking of Jay and Pete, it was hilarious when he was trying to entice Pete to follow him by jingling his keys, and Sass snapped, "We're not pets!" I've been having the same feeling. i think Isaac does love Nigel but perhaps in a way that's not as committed. Nigel's little speech after their bachelor parties about how the two of them clicked and how he was even more sure about their wedding showed that, for him, this is the real deal. Meanwhile, of course, Isaac's fantasizing about his stripper. And then his remark yesterday about the places he'd visit if he had Pete's power without realizing how it might have made Nigel feel made me a bit uneasy. I think Isaac, if he's not careful, could break Nigel's heart, and I can definitely imagine that their path as a married couple might have some rocks in it next season--which would make for some interesting story arcs, I guess. I'm wondering if his lesser commitment is because he'd lived a pretty frustrating life--he never really got to do what he wanted or be what he wanted to be, so he still has all these unrealized dreams and yearnings. Nigel, perhaps, had a much more successful and fulfilled life (I really do wish we'd get some backstory on him one of these days) and so he's ready to settle down. He's also, I think, generally more sensitive to Isaac's feelings than vice versa despite the occasional needling about Britain vs. America.
