There's an arrogance about him that is an immediate turnoff. I was suffering from second hand embarrassment while watching a 32 year old professional man, sitting next to his teenage bride as she screamed and yelled and displayed her lack of class on a television program. Not that the rest of them are much better but there's Jon, older than the hills compared to Fernanda, injecting comments into the drama and looking like such an ass.

To me, he's an overgrown frat boy.  First episode of 90DayF, all he talked about was Fern's body.  Not how sweet and wonderful she is.

I think getting Richie’s passport as soon as he could was actually smart. I have no issue with that. Trying to take him outnof the country without Olga would have been a problem though.

My guess is that he had no idea that with dual citizenship Myson would need a Russian passport to LEAVE the country. He probably just assumed that once he had the US passport he could take him wherever whenever. After all this kid didn't know what an SSN was.

Oh Olga, girl he watched that video of himself and doesn't think he did anything wrong.  Man, I don't see how that is going to end well.

Also, why is everyone mad at Larissa and Colt for being late, they are filming segments without them so it's not like they are just sitting around and waiting

When he insisted she pull the baby off her breast and hurry up...I was hoping Olga would punch him.

He has no personality at all. He has big buggy eyes with the strange combination of a protruding forehead that make him look ape-ish. He is definitely someone I would wonder about STDs if I met. image.thumb.png.43afab3debf2100ea42ee55e25fbd8ad.pngimage.thumb.png.5c69171a5160b5a8a914bc8750b9aed7.png

Can't lie. Totally someone I'd have gone home with from a club back in the day. I'd like to think he's not someone I would have actually DATED, but then again Mr. Shockermolar was pretty much someone I went home with from a club back in the day, and now here we are 23 years later, parents of a 20 year old and a 17 year old, spending our Sunday nights watching 90DF!

It was not an insult.  You can’t tell whether someone has an STD just by looking at them.  Seniors are getting STDs at an alarming rate because they assume only certain types of people get them.

I remember back in the day there was the 18 and older clubs, basically the only ones that went to said club was the 18-20 crowd, not some 30 year old ( well I am sure there was, but why other than meeting someone really young) once you hit 21 you went to the big kids clubs where at 21 I was still hit on by 40 year old men... oh the good old days.. now I am just happy if Mr Frauds unloads the dishwasher for me... f*ck getting old....

I think Asuelu grew up sheltered and in a very relaxed life and that is what is showing.  I feel like the length and stress of the tell all filming, I believe by the time he was upset , they had been there for 10 hours or more. Some of the other situations that were being discussed, much of which we either will not see or have not seen yet, was probably beyond anything he knows. I think he is trying to learn US life and can't believe that there are so many different types of relationships and situations. I would bet that he grew up thinking you get married and take care of your family and not much more.

My son was very nervous to learn to drive and was 18. I hired a professional to teach him. Part of the training was going out with another driver. I asked for it not to be someone that was also nervous or a beginner not a 15 year old that loved driving. He was matched with someone that had just arrived from Samoan. The person was smart, they were actually starting graduate school and needed to get a license asap. I was worried when my son said the Samoan student had a Samoan license because it must mean they were way ahead of my nervous son. Nope! The Samoan student had a very hard time with all the traffic, rules, and stress of driving here. They were used to dirt roads and few cars. They seemed overwhelmed with everything here being so fast paced and so many rules (that seem to conflict for them). I see Aseulu being heere the  same way. I also don't think Kalini is he best teacher for him. She is stressed with a infant and pregnant and does not seem to have the patience or even the right way to communicate. If you watch the bonus clip at the grocery store, she is not teaching him how to shop or how food is packed or stored, it is like she is treating him like a kid. Do you want me to buy you a pineapple? If you want meat , this is the way you get it here or you don't get any. She should have just left him at the grocery store alone. The grocery store they went to (I shop there often), is local owned and has the nicest staff. The produce man will talk your ear off about the different items and where they came from and how to prepare. Asuelu does not need to be yelled at or told what to do, He needs someone to explain so he can understand why it is different here. That produce guy would have loved to hear Asuelu talk about picking cocunuts and pineapple and then would have told him how our fruit comes to us in the desert.

My hope is that her brother can be his guide to life here.

If you listen to him after he bangs his head, he says I can't hear. I bet he just wanted to try and understand what the fight was about and maybe try and help stop it so they could finally finish. Shawn just was not doing a good job of keeping control.

But gosh, what could anyone really confront her about? Yes, she and Asuelu are dumb but since when is that against the law or anyone else's business? What's Shaun Robinson going to say? "Explain to us now, Mrs. Asuelu, why you are pregnant!"? LOL

Kalani should be GRILLED about not using contraception, blaming Asuelu for getting HER pregnant, her codependence on her sister, and not having her fiancees back- the complete manipulation she pulls on him around her family so she can stay in their good graces not to mention her flip out on the highway. And everything about her Dad being an ass and why is he so hard on Asuelu. So much to ask her and put  her on the spot about. I think she was nursing to get out of being confronted I really do.

I agree with everything you said about Kalani and Asuelo.  Kalani is very immature for a woman of her age, and she got together with someone younger and even more immature.  It's not a good combination.  I'd grill her about her plans for the future.  Who will be working?  Will they be able to support themselves, or are they going to mooch off of Kalani's parents in their old age?

I would be surprised if kalani and ansulo were ever in a position where they weren't heavily subsidized by her father.

I would be happy and surprised for them.  But, I can't see that ansuelo has any great marketable skills, so maybe he gets a food service job? Maybe he could learn a trade, that would be really nice, maybe become a plumber or a carpenter.  They make legit money right?

You know kalani will forever say that she can't work because she can't trust ansuelo with the children.  She may make some noise about a home based business but good luck getting her to put in substantial work to make it successful.

No snark on this, but a friend of mine got a life long STD from a guy she was dating. He was only the second man she was with and he lied about his virginity. She comes from a strict family and is embarrassed and ashamed because according to her family only slut ppl get STDs. Education is so important, I know many people who made poor choices (myself included) who never contracted an STD. Luck of the draw.

Workers Comp? Well, it is income :)  It probably wouldn't kill him. I think I recall reading that Keith Richards fell out of a coconut tree and lived and he's older than dirt.

He's not too beefy. The ones who worked on mine were at least his size.  I think he could do fairly well.......once you convinced him he had to show up at a certain time EVERY DAY.  (He's going to have to get over that 'island time' thing)

There's a show now on Netflix called Casketeers about a Maori family running a funeral home in New Zealand.  All the guys are very much like Asuelu.  Gentle, weird, kind, seemingly simple, but not... even the speech patterns are the same.  To me he's a sheltered guy of normal intelligence, who was super bored and totally over the tell all nonsense and acted out.

And Jon is NOT a pedophile.  As much as we may find the age gap squicky, being attracted to a post pubescent woman, even if she's in her late teens, is neither a mental condition, nor a crime.  (provided all are over the age of consent and there's no chance of coercion by power, like a teacher and student)

After I taught high school for a few years, I opted to go back and earn my Education Specialist credential. In the state of California, completion of that specific credential mandates that participants complete additional coursework in order to earn a separate certificate that is an authorization to teach students with autism. (Think of the autism authorization as minoring in a subject during college.)

A professor I had at the time, who earned her Ph.D. in studying autism, shared a very profound message with us. I have always believed that everyone, not just educators, would benefit from hearing her words of wisdom.

Once you meet one person with autism, you’ve met one person with autism.

I don’t know what experiences any of you have had with people who have autism, but I implore you to remember what my professor said.

Just because someone seems “off” and English isn’t their first language, it doesn’t mean they have autism.

For all we know, Asuelu could have a TBI (traumatic brain injury), hence his speech pattern and the pace at which he is learning English, which is second only to Mandarin Chinese in terms of it being the most difficult language in the world to learn.

Additionally, if Asuelo isn’t literate in his primary language, he will never be literate in a second language.

There are many reasons people act the way they do, assholes or non-assholes. Combining my personal and professional experiences, including working with students who have varying degrees of autism at the collegiate level to teaching high school in a classroom based on the format of inclusion, I can assure you that Asuelo is not on the spectrum at all.

Throwing the “autism” label around isn’t anyone’s place, especially if you have no firsthand experience or professional training with this multi-faceted diagnosis

I have a 17 year old cousin in Dayton, Ohio (Ian) who has such a severe form of autism that he’s been non-verbal his entire life. He also attends a special school for students who need 1:1 instruction, wears diapers and has a service dog. The service dog will be retiring this year, so now they are back to raising $15k for a new service dog. My aunt and uncle are going to be taking care of him for the rest of their lives. They can’t jump on a plane or head out of town for a long weekend because they can’t leave their son with a “normal nanny/caregiver/babysitter” like other parents might do. He doesn’t have friends to stay with for the weekend. They would need a home health care aide, at minimum, to look after him to ensure that he’s cared for at the level that he needs and requires.

100% agree.  As someone who is a person who has a hand in getting a diagnosis (not the actual diagnosis) for a students (lots and LOTS of assessments) and as someone who has trained and TRAINED and still gets training in her field of special education, it is kinda insulting to hear people, who for all I know have no experience/training in the field, say, "Well he must have autism."  Especially if you are basing that judgement on a heavily edited clip from TLC.

Second bolding mine:  I agree - I have had a career of working with kids with just about every disability under the sun in just about every federal setting, Ansuelo is not on the spectrum at all.  It would be VERY difficult for him to travel internationally alone for starters.  He would have been carried off that plane on a stretcher due to the noise constant stimuli in that plane, plus all the people crowded around?  He would have been in a ball, curled up in a corner or in tears.

  • Love 11

My nephew is autistic and does fine on planes.  Granted he has had a high level of intervention that someone from another country may not have had.  But if autism is a spectrum isn't it possible that a person on the spectrum may be able to do some things and not others?

Temple Grandin travels all over for speaking engagements and I'm sure she must fly pretty long distances for.some of them.

I'm definitely not saying that ansuelu is.autistic.  I don't know if he is or isn't.  I definitely think something is different with him given that reaction during the tell all at the end.  The barking and hitting of the.head....that just wasn't even in the range of "normal" reactions to me.

Off topic but I always thought English was one of the easier languages.  The verbs, for instance, are a breeze. Although there is this poem...

Dearest creature in creation,
Study English pronunciation.
I will teach you in my verse
Sounds like corpse, corps, horse, and worse.
I will keep you, Suzy, busy,
Make your head with heat grow dizzy.
Tear in eye, your dress will tear.
So shall I! Oh hear my prayer.

Just compare heart, beard, and heard,
Dies and diet, lord and word,
Sword and sward, retain and Britain.
(Mind the latter, how it's written.)
Now I surely will not plague you
With such words as plaque and ague.
But be careful how you speak:
Say break and steak, but bleak and streak;
Cloven, oven, how and low,
Script, receipt, show, poem, and toe.

Hear me say, devoid of trickery,
Daughter, laughter, and Terpsichore,
Typhoid, measles, topsails, aisles,
Exiles, similes, and reviles;
Scholar, vicar, and cigar,
Solar, mica, war and far;
One, anemone, Balmoral,
Kitchen, lichen, laundry, laurel;
Gertrude, German, wind and mind,
Scene, Melpomene, mankind.

Billet does not rhyme with ballet,
Bouquet, wallet, mallet, chalet.
Blood and flood are not like food,
Nor is mould like should and would.
Viscous, viscount, load and broad,
Toward, to forward, to reward.
And your pronunciation's OK
When you correctly say croquet,
Rounded, wounded, grieve and sieve,
Friend and fiend, alive and live.

Ivy, privy, famous; clamour
And enamour rhyme with hammer.
River, rival, tomb, bomb, comb,
Doll and roll and some and home.
Stranger does not rhyme with anger,
Neither does devour with clangour.
Souls but foul, haunt but aunt,
Font, front, wont, want, grand, and grant,
Shoes, goes, does. Now first say finger,
And then singer, ginger, linger,
Real, zeal, mauve, gauze, gouge and gauge,
Marriage, foliage, mirage, and age.

Query does not rhyme with very,
Nor does fury sound like bury.
Dost, lost, post and doth, cloth, loth.
Job, nob, bosom, transom, oath.
Though the differences seem little,
We say actual but victual.
Refer does not rhyme with deafer.
Foeffer does, and zephyr, heifer.
Mint, pint, senate and sedate;
Dull, bull, and George ate late.
Scenic, Arabic, Pacific,
Science, conscience, scientific.

Liberty, library, heave and heaven,
Rachel, ache, moustache, eleven.
We say hallowed, but allowed,
People, leopard, towed, but vowed.
Mark the differences, moreover,
Between mover, cover, clover;
Leeches, breeches, wise, precise,
Chalice, but police and lice;
Camel, constable, unstable,
Principle, disciple, label.

Petal, panel, and canal,
Wait, surprise, plait, promise, pal.
Worm and storm, chaise, chaos, chair,
Senator, spectator, mayor.
Tour, but our and succour, four.
Gas, alas, and Arkansas.
Sea, idea, Korea, area,
Psalm, Maria, but malaria.
Youth, south, southern, cleanse and clean.
Doctrine, turpentine, marine.

Compare alien with Italian,
Dandelion and battalion.
Sally with ally, yea, ye,
Eye, I, ay, aye, whey, and key.
Say aver, but ever, fever,
Neither, leisure, skein, deceiver.
Heron, granary, canary.
Crevice and device and aerie.

Face, but preface, not efface.
Phlegm, phlegmatic, ass, glass, bass.
Large, but target, gin, give, verging,
Ought, out, joust and scour, scourging.
Ear, but earn and wear and tear
Do not rhyme with here but ere.
Seven is right, but so is even,
Hyphen, roughen, nephew Stephen,
Monkey, donkey, Turk and jerk,
Ask, grasp, wasp, and cork and work.

Pronunciation — think of Psyche!
Is a paling stout and spikey?
Won't it make you lose your wits,
Writing groats and saying grits?
It's a dark abyss or tunnel:
Strewn with stones, stowed, solace, gunwale,
Islington and Isle of Wight,
Housewife, verdict and indict.

Finally, which rhymes with enough —
Though, through, plough, or dough, or cough?
Hiccough has the sound of cup.
My advice is to give up!!!*

None of them spazzed out bc of noise or complicated relationships. They all have tvs, watch movies, access YT and everything Americans do. Immigrating to the US is major culture shock but by the time of the Tell All, they'd all been here for close to 6 months. That just doesn't explain it imo.

Disagree. They are on this show surrounding their adult relationship, courtship and marriage.  She specifically blamed HIM for getting HER pregnant which is so immature. This additional pregnancy is a huge factor in their future, their careers, their marriage and relationship- esp how it relates to the fact that she wasn't even sure if wanted to marry him- and his relationship with her dad is threatening with how he performs. Knocking up Kalani might be grounds for Father Kalani to reign blows.  Not to mention all her blather about how he isn't responsible enough to care responsibly for one child now there are TWO!  It's all for discussion in my book!

Even if it is boring she needs grilling. No accountibility.  Ausuelo, her family, no one will keep her accountable. Just perpetual religious, Father Kalani dysfunctional BS.

Those poor kids. All 3, the 2 babies and Encino Man (Ausuelo).

I hope this means we don't have to see their simpleton asses on Happily Ever After.

If you have to explain to people that you are NOT autistic, youve got a lot of problems anyways.

@Pondlass1 English is one of the hardest languages to learn as a second language (Mandarin Chinese and Japanese being two others) Our lack of many standard conjugations and fewer standard rules makes it very difficult.

English, as ive heard from others, is easy to learn, difficult to master.

I have worked with kids on the spectrum and I do not think he is. Just wildly immature and accustomed to a simpler way of life. The immaturity is kind of maddening though, especially that it never occurred to him to send even $40 a month for diapers for his son. I dont care that Kalani's family is 1000000x richer tha. his. Asuelo doesnt look like he starved in Samoa, you have a kid you must contribute SOMETHING. I never liked him much.  To be honest, I think the reason Kalani hooked up with him was because he lavished her with so much attention, as he likely did with many female tourists, and she was just flattered by it.
