Maybe Nik will do us all a favor and take Esme's baby with him when he leaves. Heck, I'd be fine with him taking Willow's baby too.

I think it’s more likely they’ll have Nina switch the babies - because the only way to redeem their pet Carly is to have Nina do something stupid.

Well, my speculation that Heather was Esme's precious nanny was dashed yesterday by Heather telling Ryan she'd never seen their daughter (after giving her up). That doesn't mean that the nanny isn't the Hook but the odds go up that the serial killer probably isn't anyone we care about or anyone that makes sense. Well, except maybe the ADA. And if it is the ADA, whose name I can't even remember, it will be a letdown.

The fallout from the "big" Carly/Nina/Willow reveal certainly has been, so I expect no less from the Hook reveal. Prove me wrong, Show. I dare ya!

Beyond the question of whether Carly deserves to be forgiven (she doesn't), it's the most boring possible writing choice. What was the point of her going to such lengths to keep the secret if the response to being found out was going to be a collective shrug? This show is allergic to drama.

Personally, I'm glad we haven't been getting those Lulu visits onscreen. There are already enough things I find to be a waste of time (hi and bye, Valentin and Anna on your spy adventure with the day players); I don't need freakin' Maxie emoting to a wig on a stick about her latest developments with Austin and Spinelli.

Idk, I think people forget but Michael has only been up Carly’s ass since 2018 or so (post Nelle). He never listened to her prior to that and always lashed out at her harder than Sonny. She hated every one of his gfs before Sasha, he didn’t care, and built a relationship with AJ over her loud objections

That's true but unfortunately I was on the barge for most of that. The last couple of years of Michael, Willow and Wiley have just made me loathe him. And his ELQ story with Ned and Drew didn't help.

But once Sean Kanan was let go (again!), he reverted back and forgave both assholes and I don't recall seeing him getting angry or even hating them forever after Mooby murdered him.

No, it was A.J.'s murder that led to him breaking with them in full the first time - when it was exposed in the fall of 2014. Those were good scenes at the time. The problem was that the show did not want to play it out for long, people began haranguing Michael to let Sonny and Carly back into his life, and Michael forgave them within a year IIRC.

CW has been playing Nina on edge and so convinced she'll be a match I'm expecting something to happen that breaks her. Then Carly will eventually figure it out and be the hero for telling Michael and Willow the truth.

If Carly tells the truth, I'll be impressed but I don't see it happening. She'll just sit on this information until Robin comes to town & has to do tests on the baby for whatever reason and Robin will figure out the baby can't possibly be a spawn of Carly. Then Robin will tell Kevin - he's the most sane & competent of Esme's relatives and hopefully Esme's parentage is out by this point - because that is the role she plays whenever Carly tries to hide a baby's true identity - Carly lies and hoards and Robin exposes it. 

I hope Nik just takes the baby and disappears with it. That way the show is not stuck with another unnecessary baby and we don't have to sit through another dead baby storyline.

I realize this is all speculation, but all of these specs are contingent upon Esme giving birth at the same time SPO's spawn is delivered, and both are in the hospital to allow for the switching to happen.

But Esme's in the "minimal security" Spring Ridge. Like, what? Accused serial killer, but sure, put her in "minimum security" facility.

I sincerely hope there is no baby switch.  It's been done so often, and frankly I'm still scarred by the Babe/Bianca baby switch from AMC a million years ago and never want to see something like that again.

Also, it's bad enough that there's been no repercussions for Carly but anything that gives her yet another reason to be smug and superior would be too much.

Ditto. That storyline made me loathe all baby switches in soaps that have come after, I especially hated how on Days they killed off the next child Nicole was pregnant with after the drama surrounding the first one.

The only way a baby switch would remotely interest me is if Nina and Carly were in on it together. Forcing the two of them try to keep that secret together while loathing and resenting each other could be fun.

There have been entirely too many baby switches on soaps and GH alone in the last decade. So of course it's time for another one, because baby stories and baby swaps are the easiest stories to approve on a gunshy network.

I still don't buy Nina and Ava as BFF. I remember when Nina came on this show nursing a 20 year homicidal grudge and how she tortured Ava giving birth.

The one baby switch story that can never be top might be the Sheila/Lauren one from Y&R back in the early 90's. 

Now they have become uninspiring, and I dont trust this currenr crop to make a potential one exciting unfortuantely.

You don't even need that to get started. Write something, get friends to act in it. Do 5-10 mins capsules, post it online.

See, I was thinking Esme's baby dies, Heather steals Millie's baby and Nina/Sonny figure it out, finally leading to Michael/ Willow rethinking their feud position. But I never get nice things.

That would confirm that Esme really has amnesia or she is even a better actress than I thought.

Heather is either the mom or was the nanny who fixated on her charge being her third chance at being a mom.

I don't see how the show can retcon Heather being Esmé's nanny after we heard her moping to Ryan about missing out on her life as Esmé's mother.
