OMG Alyssa's stylist must have been drunk this week.  What the hell was that covering her left breast in the restaurant?  And to add further insult that blouse thingy at runway???

Her hair looks good though.

She has a pretty big pimple on her right cheek.

LOL..why yes I do have a life.

By the way I can never get using something "inspired by".  I would never know what to make other than color.  I just don't get it.

Did I genuinely just hear Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen being referenced as an example of a successful high fashion collaboration?

Their high end brand is Elizabeth and James.

Oh yes, I do know they have a brand (a few, right?) I think it was just the sentence that listed them alongside Dolce and Gabana as examples of collaborators that had me a bit head-spinny. ;)

Way too kind.

And to call tonight's episode Perfect Pairings is crazy.  And way too much competition for the bottom four slots.

Fabio looked a bit like Veronica Lodge in his talking head or Wednesday Adams if you don't have the same guilty pleasure TV as I do.

I agree with the judges the belly button in Ari's dress was not ok. I didn't like it and it's just really draws the eye. Lol at Whoopi saying she would wear the back of that dress.

Melissa's look was a mix between 8 year old at Easter and creepy doll.

That's only brand I know of as theirs.  Listed alongside D&G?  I haven't watched the show yet, but yeah I would get head spinny too. =)

I SO love Anthony...

"I don't want for my partner to get them sent home despite their fabulous look because of my bad one"

You just know that most of the designers were thinking the exact opposite.. that they didn't want to go home because of their partner's crappy outfit.

And Fabio... I've always liked you.. but questioning another designer's look when you're wearing Whistler's Mother's dress collar... (and for all I know, the entire dress)

No. Just.. No.

People used to be so "turned on" by Fabio and his casual style! I was never that impressed, but he knows how to design women's clothes! ;-)

I would not have been a bit surprised if the show ended with an In Memoriam for Anthony's model.

Anthony and Ken have come so far since their original seasons.  I've always liked both.

Helen - Your hair, skin, lips, and teeth, should not all be the same color.  Why do you want to look like a three day corpse?

Has anyone actually witnessed Melissa blinking?

I’m going to say it because I have to.

I’m glad that Ari is gone for no other reason than her cystic acne made me itch. You’re a pretty woman, get thee to a dermatologist.

In fact, there are a couple of others with exceptionally bad skin this season. Not sure why I’m finding it so distracting other than that I’m a bit of an ass.

The predictability of this episode was so high that the moment they first showed the pairs at the restaurant tables I turned to my husband and said "which two do they plan to get rid of?"  He immediately said "Ari and Melissa" and I said "Bingo."  PR has a serious problem when you can easily guess who's going home before the designers even begin to plan their designs.  There's literally no suspense in episodes like tonight's, which makes episodes like this one a chore to watch.

For her first look, I loved Alyssa’s hair, hated her dress, for her 2nd look I didn’t like her hair, but I liked her outfit

Too bad Ari has been eliminated, I thought her work was really great. Shallowly, I found her skin to be very distracting.

I can't remember who designed what, but I thought the lamb chop (I despise lamb) pairing was the best, even though I have no idea what the clothes had to do with lamb chops.

I didn't want Candice to go home, but Merline's dress was the hottest of messes. Ari has done a lot of good stuff, and hers and Melissa's both looked impeccably sewn, if not stellar.

Completely agreed with the top two pairings tho, they were beautiful. And I love Anthony. His little scream as he painted his fabric and then said 'it'so beautiful!'...he's adorable.  I've never noticed her before, but his model for this week is disturbingly thin.

This has been a problem with PR for years. Winners and losers are clearly telegraphed from the very beginning of each episode.

Merline's dress was hideous. The shapes on the bodice looked like amoebas. Ari's looked like something a porn actress would wear to the AVN awards. And Josh's was flat out tacky. His stuff is always tacky. I did hold out hope for a moment that maybe he and Amanda would go, but no dice.

Alyssa's stylist clearly hates her. Or is terrible at her job. I actually emitted a small scream when she walked into Daniel in that ridiculous gown. It looked like it was made from Elizabeth Taylor's shower curtain.

I was very surprised that I liked Helen's.  Fabio's was to die for.

I thought Merline and Candace (ok, Merline) deserved to go more than Ari and Melissa, but yeah I get it.  Ari and Melissa are not good tv.  And I'll third feeling bad for feeling relieved that I don't have to see that acne anymore.

I absolutely LOVED Fabio's look. LOVED. I'd wear it in a heartbeat.  Very happy that he and Ken won the challenge.

Based on the looks I think that Candice and Merline should've gone home, but I'm a fan of Candice's work so I'm happy that she's sticking around.

Ari's dress was...not good.  Melissa's wasn't terrible, really.  It looked well made, but I think the sleeves threw it off.  I agree with the judge (Alyssa?) who said pulling up the sleeves really improved it overall.  Truth be told, Melissa is dull as dirt so I'm not suprised they were sent packing.

Orange Josh continues to prove that he pretty much sucks as a designer.

I know Fabio likes to be different with what he wears -- I just don't know why he had to wear Ruth Bader Ginsburg's dissent collar.

Also, I thought Anthony's dress might have looked okay on a model who didn't look so severely anorexic but it was very distracting on her.

I find Milano's looks so distracting, I can't concentrate on the actual show.

WTF was she doing here,  with this look? Fashion Mad Libs? ("I like a short___ mixed with a long____ and wide shoulders to___ my body") Some late nineties pre-911 off-the-rails Dennis Miller riff I can't track?  ("Listen Chachi,  the lady was dressed like Frieda Kahlo -- if Frieda were a lesbian schoolteacher in Joshua Tree running a Chekhov workshop for "gifted" six year olds with panicked Boomer parents.")  STOP IT. DRESS BETTER. Because when you look like someone who has no idea which body she lives in - while nattering on about proportion and length --  it's impossible to take you seriously as a judge.

And Mizrahi, stop pretending it's all a fever dream. You sit right beside her; help a girl out.  Take her out to tea ("Darling,  I heard Garbo always had tea - lapsong souchong -  so let's!")  and tell her the truth {"Put the cup down, sweet girl -- it's hard to hear, but truth is, you're short and wide -- like Bette Davis, god bless her soul -- and in the wrong outfit-- which means everything you've ever worn on this show -- you look like a fireplug with ambitions to be a traffic cone. But fashion is magic and if you just stop pretending you're Tilda Swinton, we can find a look that is all you  - just you, and nobody else.")

The beautiful Georgina Chapman is currently living through a depraved shitstorm, but somehow -- despite the crisis -- manages to make judging fashion look like a sane thing to do. Good for her.

Alyssa Milano was often considered one of the hottest women on TV and the childhood crush of every guy that I grew.  Naked pics of her almost broke the internet way before Kim K.

I am offended at how bad she looks on the show, because it is as if the fashion industry is using her as an example of "No one but a 90 pound 6'1" Glamazon has any right to look good"  It is like they are making a mockery of short curvy women, because she is the exact opposite of their ideal.  There is no way Isaac and the beautiful Georgina, who are industry experts, should do anything but gasp in horror at most of her outfits.  They have managed to make Alyssa Milano, dream girl, look like a fire hydrant who was dressed by a drunk man with poor vision.

I opted out of watching this week's episode.  Whoopi Goldberg makes as much sense as a judge on a fashion show as Whitney Thore would make as a judge on "America's Next Top Model."

They could both be judges on a new show called "Do As I Say, Not As I Do."

Did you get a new large Hi-def TV by any chance? REmember when they used soft screens to make older stars look younger? Man, THOSE days are gone! Now you see every wrinkle and pore. I'll bet Ari's skin doesn't look nearly that distracting in real life because aside from not being blown up to 10 times normal size, our eyes just don't process real life with the same level of detail that modern tv's provide.

Two episodes in and PRAS has gotten rid of three designers I personally liked.  I think Ari had more to offer than, say Merline, but when she said the judges didn't get what she was doing, you knew she would be going home.  I also think Josh's was worse and far more trashy.  He should have been paired with Merline so we could have had a really correct double elimination.

I've liked Fabio in previous versions but he does sound like he's getting a bit sanctimonious.  We usually see the contestants mellow out but he sounds like he could be getting too full of himself.  Hope I'm wrong.

I was really disappointed in Ari last night because I wanted to see how her design mind has evolved.

When she was a finalist in her year, she didn't have much ready to show Tim because the fabrics hadn't arrived from southeast Asia.  That really made me like someone who loves and appreciated fabrics.  Her designs as shows were different and she had been heavily influenced by the Fabric Magic series which is one of the neatest series of books about manipulating fabric, ever. f

 Fabric Magin vol. 2

So we have an interesting designer who loves great fabrics and who understands fabric manipulation.  And we get a shows-way-too-much-skin in the front and back design, although at least the fabrics started out spectacular.

Heck, the design esthetic of Ari't last night might have been better paired with Orange Josh.

I don't get offended by clothing much, but Ari's was downright offensive, masquerading as elegant. All of your bits are showing! Not just cleavage, not just hoo-ha, but cleavage, hoo-ha and ass. Pick one and cover up the rest! I have a hard enough time out in public thinking I'm showing too much cleavage without having EVERYTHING on display. Awful, just awful.

Merline's outfit looked like a preschool project-I couldn't believe she would send that out. I didn't like Candice's outfit either and the hems were so uneven. Fabio and Ken did a good job although Fabio's personal choices are so strange-what the hell was the lace collar about? I liked Anthony's dress too and agree his model is very, very thin but that may be her natural build. Alyssa always looks bad but I like her so I don't harp on her look too much.

And why did she not pull up the sleeves BEFORE going out there? Most of us - if put in that dress - would automatically zhuzh the sleeves to stop drowning in fabric. But the designer herself wait to be told by a judge. Maddening.

Mychael's avant garde look blew my mind. Absolutely brilliant. As others have noted during his season(s?), the judges' and mentors' advice really impacted his designs.

I am still sad for his family and loved ones. They must miss him so much.

The food at Daniel looked amazing.

Melissa should not have chosen that fabric. Or, needed to do something less frumpy with it.

Whoopi is cute, the way she appreciates a garment that forgives a few extra pounds or weight loss.

Were Merline's sewing skills always this inferior?

Merline has a win and a top three placement to her name, so I'm not surprised the panel wanted to give her (and Candice, by extension) another chance. Still, that dress was horrific and would have been the rightful loser if they were really judging challenge-by-challenge.

The color of Candice's pants was gross. Her entries for the previous two challenges were great, so I hope she can get herself back on track.

Anthony and Kimberley were my favorite pairing; Ken and Fabio's designs were good but not particularly impactful or exciting.

Amanda reminds me a bit of a young Allison Janney. I liked her dress, but she was lucky Joshua's didn't bring her down to the bottom.

I wish Helen would get sent home and stop coming back for All Stars seasons. She is the most joyless contestant ever to appear on the show.

Before we engage in too much body shaming of Anthony's model, could we at least CONSIDER the possibility that it might be her natural build?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nilotic_peoples#Physiology

As someone who was naturally extremely thin until I was in my 40's, I can say that it is just as wrong to be body-shamed for being thin as it is for being fat. It's also just as damaging for self-confidence and emotional development as a young woman. It's obnoxious to have people assume you are anorexic until they see how much you eat, and then figure you must be bulimic.

While the historical pattern of having unnaturally thin women as models is troubling and slow to change, it's also inexcusable for a backlash to result in making thin girls feel as though their body is now unacceptable. I'm sure if someone posted that a model was too fat, there'd be no end of outcry. Let's not fix the problem by making another for a different set of women.

I searched the internet for any information about the models this season, and was unable to find anything. But I'll repeat that Anthony's model looks to me like that is natural for her.

The competition ideas aren't even interesting me. Last week's with the ripping and burning... Just ugh.

My comment referred more to the pairing of that particular dress with her particular body type. I think having someone that thin (natural or not) wear a dress that's almost non-existent (and looks too big in the bargain) was an unfortunate combination.

Is that why Kimberly made her "paired" dress so big on her model?

It is so strange that Ken is now someone I like when he was so spectacularly horrid in his original season.  He and Fabio deserved the win this time.

I think also that's the issue. A dress with such a deep neckline supposed to emphasize the breasts, when the model has a chest as flat as a boy's, and which shows so much of the sternum, when you can clearly count all the ribs under the skin, was not very flattering (neither for the dress nor for the model).

Helen's dress made her model look very pregnant.

Merline's dress looked like something I could have done (and that is not a compliment).

Very happy for Ken and Fabio, both their looks were stunning and they had a good team work. Anthony's dress I also quite loved, in spite of it being on the wrong model.
