As arrogant as Sandra is, it might be more fun to see her unacknowledged king taken out and realize she's vulnerable than it would have been to see her walk tonight. Taking out the strongest, even near-unbeatable, competitor on the other side was an excellent play. As much as I enjoy coffee, one thermos as second place? Um, woo hoo? 17 Link to comment

He seemed certain that Culpepper would go for Sandra. That was crazy. Fun to watch, but impossible to keep up. I thought that one tribe would vote for Culpepper and the other for Sandra. So shows what I know. lol That was my read...he overstrategized and thought he could bump Sandra by telling Brad who they were voting for without actually getting his own hands dirty. Unfortunately for Malcolm, JT was wrong both about who they were voting for and how much Brad cared about supporting JT's wishes. I'm pretty sure in the huge conversation mess JT flat-out told him to vote Sandra, but once Brad knew who to play the idol for, he had full control over who to send home. Shame that bad play from JT singlehandedly sent Malcolm home. What a frustrating, devastating way to go out. Also--Brad told everyone to stick to the plan. Is it possible that Hali's remark about physical threats was actually intended to warn the other tribe that the target was Malcolm rather than, as Sandra assumed, that she wanted them to vote Brad? While I found that interesting and exciting to watch, the end result left me feeling really unsatisfied. 31 Link to comment

I thought he was getting the winner's edit treatment but now I see the editors wanted to get him in as much as possible in these first three weeks before he got the unexpected boot. I doubt he would come back for a fourth attempt (looking at you, Ozzy). I don't think there is any way Sandra wins a third time. I'm almost feel like Hali, who was such a nonentity her first season, is getting way too much focus. Maybe she ends up winning. But I'm worried about my girl Aubri who has been practically invisible up to this point. It was a crappy end result but but oh so entertaining leading up to it. You got me, Probst. Keep that shit to yourself, for yourself. Since I question how much production interferes, I wonder if the castaways are encouraged to share it with someone for drama's sake. I know they can't force them to, but I can see where they assume it might make for better TV if at least one other person knows. Then there's always the question if that person will use it on their ally, or get outed. Quote I can't believe Hali didn't blab that he had it to the other tribe! I didn't at first, but I guess it makes sense. Hali needs to try and stay in the good graces of Mana, and hope someone will flip if they lose again. They don't know if/when there's going to be another swap or when the merge will happen, so she might be stuck with them for awhile. She can at least argue she didn't out Tai's idol, and it ended up saving Sierra so they kept their numbers. Edited March 23, 2017 by LadyChatts 7 Link to comment

North of Eden March 23, 2017 Share March 23, 2017 (edited) That's a tough blow losing Malcolm as he was easily one of the most likable returnees and worthy of being brought back as opposed to someone like Zeke who I can still not fathom why he would be returned and so quickly at that. Still better than losing Michalea....glad she wasn't suggested. I was worried she would draw attention to herself next week by accusing J.T. but I went back and rewound and he did INDEED spill the beans about Sierra. Some questionable editing exists when before the last 15 minutes of the show Sierra was tied with Sarah in this season's invisible edit...and then out of nowhere she is the big bad threat to be voted out? At least lay some ground work that indicates she would merit that. I never really bought into the whole Jeff has man crushes but after tonight I am a convert because he was practically orgasmic when Culpepper knocked the pegs down and caught up to Troyzan.
