Housing is cheap and suburban in Texas isn't it? Why did they bother redecorating an apartment when, "God willing", they're gonna have a baby asap? 

Duggar skin has noticeably improved this season.

That sort of thing is NOT to be messed about with.  We have suspected Derick may have Marfan's Syndrome with his long limbs and jaw problems. Sudden aortic dissection is a complication of Marfans.

I don't have a Twitter account, but some please tweet it to him to get a CT scan to rule this out.  As many specialists that he was taken to, I'm surprised no one caught Marfans unless he's not talking about that.  With or without Marfans, he still needs to rule out aortic issues with those kinds of symptoms and get it repaired.

Jessa was decorating Jeremy's second bedroom for herself, ya know?  For when she and Ben escape the Compound of the Damned and move themselves in with dear sweet Jinger.

Jessa and Ben will take over the guest room, move their children into the main room and Jin and Jer will be stuck sleeping on the new couches.

 

On the plus side. for some reason. I thought Jessa's hair looked good last night.  Thick and healthy.

A young relative of mine needed a cat scan when an XRay showed possible symptoms of Marfan, and they checked his heart for aorta problems. Fortunately all tests came back negative.  But despite what the show is reenacting for us, I also hope Derick is getting proper evaluations.

It's a rare complication, but it's always fatal. A former coworker called me that to tell me he had fallen and broken his tailbone and was going to the doc.  The CT or MRI revealed that he had an aortal aneurysm.  It was an incidental finding, but he was so lucky. He had it repaired in time. He was luckier than a shithouse rat!

Good?  No.  Acceptable to keep them on TLC?  More than likely.  It is lower than Sister Wives.  As for the baffling part, consider the US viewing audience.  It's frequently tough to judge what will appeal.  Professionals at making that call put bombs on the air every year.  It's the audience that makes the rating with day of the week, time of airing, preceding shows, etc. all entering into who and how many people watch.  The Duggars seem to have a core audience of 900K to 1.0 M viewers and then more people watch for special events.

They are up to courtship number ??? four with Jinger?  I think Boob and J-chelle are already getting tired of trying to police everybody.  By the time Josie is old enough to court, she could roll around on the floor making out with her future headship and they wouldn't even notice.

Of course when that day arrives, Jana will still be an untouched virgin who is not permitted to make eye contact with a man.  It might interfere with her kitchen and laundry duties.

Did I hear right that they bought a new king-sized bed for the main bedroom?  That's ridiculous.  The space is entirely too small for it.  My headship and I still don't have a king bed and likely never will - just not enough space, and we have a decent-sized house.  But what the heck - Jessa wasn't spending her own money, she was spending Jeremy's (presumably)!  So while we're at it, let's also get a couch and lamps and a new headboard and another bed for Jeremy's Previous Office!  Even though the current furniture is completely serviceable!  Because Jessa!

I like your list but I would definitely put Jessa in the Bribe category.  I would see the first words out of Jessa`s mouth being, "What's in it for me?"  I see Jessa as being one of her mom's favorites and entirely too much like her dad in personality.

I think Jessa and Josh have to be bribed, cajoled and threatened. I think Jill and Joy willingly toe the line. Josiah definitely threatened. Not sure about the rest.

Does anyone think that Jinger asked Jessa to take over because she didn't have the confidence to own her own taste? And the guest bed; since when do any of the Duggars need a proper bed to sleep on?

I suspect that Fedovsky doctor guy is still using because the wall colors were totally messed up!

Nah, she made a new TX/AR string art (that ended up over the kitchen sink) with huge "J & J" lettering (I saw this both in AR and TX, so it's not the original one she made....which I didn't see anywhere in his apartment before the re-decoration). I think she EMBRACES the J nameness. She just calls him BAAAAAABE like some of us call our guys honey or sweetie or asswipe. :D

I suspect he's a little messed up if he's not getting Jill into a specialist a little quicker for a follow up regarding a health issue that could be serious. I would suspect he is even more messed up if Jill's issue is a story line to gain viewers and he went along with it. I suspect that if I was doctoring on a TV show I would have made it very apparent that I asked Derick a thorough lists of questions about his "gagging" and then re-referred to specialists because things are often missed and masked and are undetectable at certain times and medicine is forever changing.

And I for sure would have at least tried to make the exam room look updated if not fully made over.

But then again maybe the Duggars are on to something - we can all go on TV and explain our symptoms while a panel of MDs from all over are watching and they can call in diagnoses and suggestions and we can then contact local MDs for care.

If I remember correctly the guy from Flip or Flop was diagnosed with a health issue by an ER nurse that watched the show.

After 32 years, I still almost exclusively call my husband "Dear" or "Sweetie". His name is Rich. I don't like it. His family calls his Rick (or, occasionally Ricky). I like Rick fine, but he doesn't like going by that.  I just have never liked Rich as short for Richard. The texture of the word feels wrong (words just have distinct textures to me...guess I'm just weird). But given that most Richards seem to go by something other than Rich, I guess maybe there's something to it? I don't know...Ah, well, at lest neither of us defaulted to Dick anywhere along the line!

I just watched this episode and I'm baffled.  Why would Jing and Baaaabe need a bunch of tacky used stuff when they are on the brink of getting wedding presents?   With over 1000 guests they were bound to get some beautiful gifts they would be able to use in their home.  Granted, none of the nice gifts probably came from the Duggar side, but I bet they got some nice things from Jeremy's side. 

Jessa was overbearing and obnoxious.  If I were Jeremy, I'd have told her what to do with her coffee mug tree.

OMG Jessa, chaotic to drive around and find everything down there my foot, if they found things down in Laredo, surely Jeremy and Jinger could have spent some time together planning this remodel, finding things they both loved and making everything suit both of their tastes?  This, "Let's remodel in preparation for them moving in together" bullshit is rubbish! Why can't then help them remodel by letting them choose their own stuff ffs?  I am only 8 minutes in and I am fearing Jeremy's books.  That poor man cherishes them and the Duggarlings have no idea even how to open one, let alone appreciate them!

Infants and toddlers only get free bags if you buy them a seat.  There aren't a lot of airlines that fly into NWA.  Little Rock isn't exactly easy either depending on your origin or destination.  I keep hoping that Jeremy began redoing the redecoration the minute Jessa turned the corner at the end of the street.  The Duggar decorating for siblings really needs to stop unless the sibling asks them to do it.

Jessa needs to bleach her upper lip. Jinger is going to end up with some major eye problems if she does not stop the buggy eye movements. Ben is watching HIS son...Really...Is he not the kid's father and capable of taking care of his own child. I do not know what made me sick...watching Derrick gagging or hearing the way Jeremy said my love when he saw Jinger at the airport. Jill trying to get pregnant with a possible blocking in her neck arteries. A doctor with half a brain would have told her to put a stop on the baby making plans until they can be certain there is not possible blockage because plaque buildup can lead to a possible stroke and put her and the baby in danger. And of course Derick said he is concern about it. I did roll my eyes a little when they said Jill is in good health because lets be honest her mental health leaves a little to be desired, but I guess in the Duggar LaLa Land Fantasy World denial is a fact of life. And speaking of Derick, I noticed one of his eyes is smaller than the other one. Has he seen an eye doctor? Oops, I forgot who I was talking about.

I can completely see this. I personally think Josie will be at home a looooong time after all her siblings leave, just enjoying being an "only child" (Jana doesn't count, as she's from a different generation) with no responsibilities. I could see Johannah, Jenni, and Jordyn getting married around 21-22, while Josie hangs around the TTH until 30 or so. She'll wake up at noon, don long blonde extensions and trendy clothing, and lounge around on the couches taking selfies while middle-aged Jana runs herself ragged taking care of JB and Michelle. I forgot...Was Babe included in the actual furniture buying trip? If not, that just isn't right. It's their house & they are the ones that have to sit on the sofa & chairs so wouldn't you think he would like to try it out too?   Same with the mattresses.  Same with the dining set.  I wonder if Jinge actually tried out all the furniture.  We did see her sit on the sofa once & exclaim she loved it.  Most of us would have sat down & stood up a few times to try it out as well as stretched out on it.. We all know just cuz something looks nice & comfy, it may not be.

I think the staged-for-TV shopping trip - and what they chose - doesn't really matter much to Jeremy. I'm sure he didn't pay for anything. TLC paid, because it was a way to create show footage for the Dull Duggars. Jeremy knows how to use Craigslist to dump unwanted stuff. Anyway, I doubt that Babe intends to stick around in Laredo for a hot minute longer than necessary. As soon as he lands a better gig, he and Clinger Jinger are outta there. Unless TLC needs footage of Duggarlings shoving stuff into trailers for A! Big! Move! episode, Jeremy will figure out how to leave behind the stuff he doesn't like.

You know, I am truly surprised seeing Jilly in tight yoga pants. After a decade of them spouting off modesty rules, and seeing girls swim in skirts, ride bicycles and horses in skirts, ski in skirts, and didn't they once parachute in skirts?, well, it does surprise me.  Not loose pajama pants, either. (Here in the Seattle are, I can walk into most any grocery store or Target, and see women wearing baggy fleece or flannel pajama pants).

 

ETA:. They even played fire-fighter in skirts!!!!!!!
