Ah okay! I thought it looked darker than usual, but I would have been genuinely surprised if Joy had dyed it.

I thought it looked darker as well, but you can still see some blonde strands in there. She has great natural highlights.

I don't even care if her hair looks dirty. If she actually has agency to experiment and choose various hair styles, good for her.

Joy looks a little like the Olsen twins' younger sister Elizabeth.  It's nice to see her trying new things.  Joy & Austin were dealt a shitty hand, but they have handled it with grace.

I will say that I actually believe the text under the photo unlike many of Joy's sisters' posts.  This may have been an arranged marriage,  but I see actual affection between Austin and Joy.

They seem compatible with each other, and I agree with you that their affection for each other seems genuine. It manages to be much less curated-seeming/artificial but not as ineptly staged as some of her other sisters' social media posts about their husbands.

I feel like their marriage is the most likely one to have still happened if there had never been any show. I don't think Jill, Jessa, or Jinger would have found their spouses without that exposure/lure. Second place for most likely to still happen would probably be Joe and Kendra.

Let's  not forget the older girls went through their home perm stage.  They also did that thing with combing over their halfway side-parted hair in the front &tucked behind their ear leaving the back  just hanging. Even Anna got in on that look. 

As for the boys, we all know most of them get hit with the receding hair line curse that leaves them with that awful poof in front when they hit around 16.  So not many options for them.

I think Joy looks lovely, but I have always thought she was the most naturally pretty of the girls anyway. I love that she tried a new style. This is really a nice picture of them both, and they really do look happy. Kudos to them for that.

Joy's IG is actually the only one I really follow because she and Austin both seem to have a good sense of humor. I also like that she and her Duggar brothers are close (and not in that "my sweet brothers" way).

Eh Joy does seem to only wear skirts but she's still very tomboyish and I like that about her.  I can believe she and Austin enjoy working on home repairs together. I also love that her voice is surprisingly deep and she doesn't do the squeaky "keep sweet" baby voice of Michelle and some of the J'slaves.

That's Madison County. I was wondering if they'd moved closer to the Duggars or stuck closer to the Forsyths. I'm betting they did the latter.

I don't think the records are super out-of-date, but they might have a little bit of a lag time? I just checked Madison County, and I only saw stuff in Terry's name.

Good for them. I don't know the quality of work that Austin does, but it's nice he's able to do all of that. I can feel Joy's excitement and I'm sure Gideon will love it as well.

Now this makes me question even more as to why Jessa, with 3 kids, is still in the 2 bedroom mold house?

This comment on Joy's update about the house has been cracking me up:

"Slow down little one and enjoy the gifts God has blessed you with. There is plenty of time to work but the time while you are young and your children are young only happens once in a life time. Slow down please." 

So, I guess she, Austin, and Gideon should live in the camper for all eternity to avoid possibly missing any milestones? 🙄

For real! I lived in an RV as a kid for 9 months and still can't look an RV in the face. LOL I have no idea how they did 18 months and Joy can still say she loves the camper. 

I'd venture to say that Gideon's getting old enough that they realized they really needed to expand to big quarters. I also had wondered if this was always part of the plan for the family expanding with Annabelle. 😞 Regardless of the reasoning, I cannot figure out why in the world anyone would complain about other people moving out of a camper into a real house.

Perhaps! She clarifies in one of the comments that she doesn't like seeing young people working themselves to death. Other people are really dog-piling on her!

If you don't work hard while you're young, it certainly gets harder to catch up as you simultaneously age. What does this person expect JoyStin to do? Quit flipping houses?

eta: Just remembered that Boobchelle worked like dogs when they were young. Would this person have given them the same advice?

It's truly baffling advice. I guess they approve of Jessa and Ben's apparent stasis. LOL Even Derick's shown more apparent get-up-and-go, though he rarely lasts long at any one given goal.

I hope Joy and Austin get fully moved in during the winter months. The RV must start to feel very small when you can't spread out into the yard. It looks like the kitchen/dining area is bigger than their entire camper.
