You'd be surprised.  Child porn, even molestation charges are often very, very drawn out investigations, mindbogglingly so.   

My suspicion is something financial, except I'm stumped on the idea that JB probably is being generous when he allows Josh access to pocket change anymore, so I have no idea how he could be involved in something big enough to merit a long-term investigation and be granted no bail.   I'm wondering if there's any possibility Josh was only the visible part of the iceberg and the feds finally came up with enough to hold him and intend to try to apply pressure and offer him a deal in order to get the goods on anyone he's been acting in concert with.  

One way or another it seems the Duggar pedestal may be completely smashed in the wake of this.

I'm waiting for the drunk-sounding happy-talk posts from Hilary Spivey about JB's brilliant offspring-raising techniques that result in maturity and competence otherwise unknown in American families.....

.....and for Kory Nakatsu to weigh in on the level of due diligence he performed before biblically betrothing his unwitting daughter to the Duggarling who (fairly or unfairly) reminds me the most of brother Josh.

That's a good question. I honestly don't know since any uncredited source's credibility is debatable. 

But I can see the Duggars perhaps having unrealistic expectations of this since their last go-around with law enforcement happened with local law and Josh was a minor at the time. They may very well have not grasped that federal charges and investigations with him as an adult are a whole nother ballgame.

Maybe that’s why the 2 boys got married so quick! After this no one might want to marry a Duggar.

 I have a major statistical analysis dud for work tomorrow, dammit. Otherwise I’d be breaking out some liquor.

Anna’s last tweet aged like milk.  I’m so sorry she’s pregnant. 

Jeremy will be completely bald by tomorrow.  If only the publisher had waited another week! 

 I’m thinking we can Count On  The demise of Counting On.  I feel the most sympathy for Jill right now just because it will stir up a lot of crap as she is at least semi-reformed and healthy, and who knows what this will do to that. 

 The rest of them can all burn together. Whatever comes out will be delicious. Just don’t let a child be harmed. I’m hoping it revolves around medi-corps. I’m hoping we see Jim Bob do a purp walk as well.

Probably not the case, but I know a business owner who took Covid business relief money. He the spent it on a huge boat. Hundreds of thousands of dollars. The feds arrested him and he has already been to court. He was found guilty and is to be sentenced later this month. The feds were FAST. 

Maybe josh did something similar?

he was first raided before Covid tho?

maybe this arrest has nothing to do with the earlier raid?

I can wrap my mind around her decision to stay. She loved Josh, or believed she did. She'd always dreamed of having a big, "traditional" family and she hadn't had much exposure to other paths. She took such pride in marrying "royalty" and seemed so focused on "out-Duggering" her sisters-in-law, who always appeared to look down on her a bit. Her brother offered to help her, but that's a short-term solution and she doesn't have the skills or education to stand on her own two feet with (then) four children in the longer term. She didn't want to fight the Duggars; she wanted to continue as a stay-at-home mom whose financial worries were handled by someone else. I don't love the decision, but it makes sense.

But I do have a hard time figuring out how she could possibly have believed that Josh was a hard-working good provider who would be a good father to THREE MORE KIDS when he didn't even want two of the four they had when the first scandal hit.

The Marshals are the enforcement arm of the DOJ, so one of their tasks is to pick up and deliver the arrested. Since this all seems federal, that makes sense. 

BTW also things that could be federal that you don't think of might be fraud across state lines, trafficking etc. The biggest federal dragnet is that if you use a phone or computer to commit your crime, it becomes a federal wire fraud crime.

There's at least one news report that seems to have a sourced report that it does relate to the 2019 raid. for what that's worth....

I think Anna will double down on standing by her man. She has to if she wants to stay on the good side of JB & Michelle, and I bet she is counting on them to support her and the kids if Josh goes to jail.

Considering their last ratings were terrible,  I think they would be stupid not to. 

 Of course, they canceled the show after the first scandal. And yet, it came back in a new form.   Like in a horror movie where are you think the serial killer is dead, but they rise up as soon as you turn your back. 

 So, we might still have to suffer through Jer and a Jingle: Down and out in Beverly Hills, Jill: The Fugitive Years, or Jessa: More in love than ever!

 I do wonder if this is part of the reason why Josiah kind of vanished from social media. Not that he is involved in it necessarily, but was wise enough and in the know enough to see it coming.

Yes! I also don't see any of the Duggars wanting to give up a platform and a TV show, but after the last scandal go-around, I wonder if any of the family really wants to opt out right now. They actually do know what it involves to be caught up very publicly in a Josh scandal, and I could see some of them absolutely not wanting to endure it again.

I’m going to personally gloat at my own post from like a day ago where I said God was setting up Jim Bob for a big fall. He even waited until big Sandy!

I just looked at the IBLP schedule and there doesn't look to be anything official going on now, at Big Sandy or any place else.

So if they are there, it must be some exclusive confab or other of old Gothardites huddling to...I don't know what?

Can you imagine. JB & M giving a talk and all of a sudden someone pulls out their phone. Then another one does and another one. Everyone staring up at the stage in disbelief. And the audience looks like a rock concert with lit phones.

Looking at the arrest report, it looks like AR just picked him up and is holding him for the feds (there's a section "hold for other agency" - - Fed). So unless there are independent state charges, the next we hear will probably be that he has been transferred to a fed facility, and will then be arraigned on his fed charges. 

If you're holding a dude for another agency, you wouldn't let the guy out--you'd wait for the feds to come pick him up from you. 

I haven't seen the federal arrest warrant, so I've got no idea what they picked him up for. I will say the feds are quite unlikely to just issue a warrant & see what's up. They're usually issued based on extensive backing evidence, and had to go through multiple reviews before being issued. 

What I'm curious about is if they'll have warrants for the TTH. Obv they're going to search his home, vehicles, etc, but I can't imagine they cant/didn't find a nexus to a crime entitling them to a warrant for the TTH. 

The OTHER interesting question for me is now his financial records get pulled apart by the best forensic accountants in the world. I can't imagine a scenario where there isn't substantial financial contact between Josh, JB, and possibly other Duggars. If they're all tangled up together, they go down together. 

(Please note I am not barred in AR, but I am admitted to federal practice, so this is just spitballin') 

Ooooooh, I bet they're all sorry they drove away the only Duggar-adjacent attorney to be, Derrick. 

HUH. The other interesting thing is that this may affect Derrick's bar admission. Having a bunch of charged criminals for family can tie that up for a loooong time, esp since they were financially entangled. 

And if THAT happens Dillard is going to be pissed, as he should be, and I bet he will spill all sorts of tea!!

No, the family conference is this week. IBLP takes down dates after events begin. David Waller posted from there earlier this week. Boobchelle were scheduled to be keynote speakers. I hope that's going well for them tonight. 😂

Or staring up at the stage in belief ... ("I KNEW those people were shady!") .... and glancing around at the doors to see if any Marshals were coming for Jim Bob....
