The one that cracks me up for the moment is the new Geico ad with Grandpa's whistling nose.

Ha!  I hadn't seen that one, but the description sounded funny (plus, it's a Geico ad), so I went looking for it:

I log the dog's nose kicking in as accompaniment.  And everyone's reaction shots are funny throughout.

I'm sure there will be people squicked out by a shot up someone's nose, but I laughed.

I love this Johnsonville commercial, for some reason. It just delights me that the guy and the animals are having a normal conversation.

On its face, it's better than the so-perky-she-should-be-killed-to-spare-us-all's offering (from the "my commercial would be some awful musical about being made in the U.S.A." woman), but there's something quite off about him imagining a bunch of animals, most of whom do not eat meat (and none of whom would be particularly likely to prey on the animals constituting the main ingredient of Johnsonville sausage) getting excited about this dude's breakfast.

I think that is one of the reasons I love it--it is so off-kilter. And the least said about that awful woman in the other commercial, the better.

I am loving the ad where this little boy has a pet pig that goes everywhere with him until it gets too big.  Then after the pig is banished to the barn, he can check on him with a remote camera.  Not even sure what the ad is selling--Amazon?  Is it Alexa?  Whatev, the boy and his pig just warm my cold, cynical heart.

I unapologetically and unashamedly love Starbucks and the ad is pretty anyways, but Leah who gets two peppermint mochas is simply stunning.

The Elton John ad hit me right in the feels -- as they say -- and I don't give a rip what else it's promoting.

I'm a lot younger than Elton, but "Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only the Piano Player" was one of the first record albums I ever bought with my own money (*featured "Crocodile Rock", not "Your Song"), partly because my best friend Carolyn told me it was cool.  So watching this commercial, I'm walking backwards with him.

The Elton John ad is lovely but I have no idea what the commercial is for, other than manipulating your emotions.  I'd never heard of John Lewis.  (The only John Lewis I know is a Congressman from GA but I don't think it's his ad.)

I believe that John Lewis is a traditional Christmas thing in England.  It is a Department Store.  They always have an ad that pulls out all the stops and tugs at the heartstrings.  I've seen a couple others, and they were very good as well.

New favorite- US Cellular Thanksgiving ad, featuring a family so obsessed with Black Friday shopping that they are 1) vacuuming their meals directly into their mouths, 2) putting their meal into a blender and drinking it and 3) leaving for the stores with a tray strapped to their shoulders so they can continue eating (while shopping, I guess?)

Ends with the dog joyfully jumping on the table to finish off the 'leftovers.

I'm laughing just thinking about it!

The Sainsbury's ads with Mog will always be my favorite British Christmas commercial entries, but I love that one, too; definitely my favorite from John Lewis.  I am a little put off, though, by how they all react to Buster with a bit of dismay -- the kid should rush in there and join him, and the parents should be extra happy that this great surprise turns out to be an even better one than they thought, because another member of the family is just as stoked by it.

Saw a commercial over the weekend for Mizzen and Main shirts.  Now the shirts are probably horribly overpriced, but the commercial was a parody of those for erectile dysfunction medications, and was absolutely hysterical.  I especially loved the man wearing one of the company's shirts in the Cialis bathtub.

I'd only seen a few of the ones with athletes, so I had to go look that up -- textile dysfunction.  It's a great parody, and, yep, I love the bathtub shot best:

Apparently, this is a commercial that has run for five years now, but I only just now saw it. It’s a pen of farm animals that has a Pilgrim and a Native American approaching it, so they pass around a can of Red Bull from the pig to the cow to the sheep and when it gets to the turkey, it runs out and the turkey doesn’t get flyable wings so it can get away. I like it, it’s an amusing take on the story.

There's an ad for Fleet enemas now (I am NOT going to Google it because Lord only knows what the results will be) and the announcer says something like "Where will you be when your laxative starts to work? In the water? (elderly woman in aquasize class quickly gets out the pool) In bed? (elderly gentleman jumps out of bed)" I should not laugh at this because it's not really funny ... but it sort of is.

I think Kaopectate had the opposite situation:  "Where will you be when your diarrhea comes back?"
