I feel that diet margaritas are like diet chocolate - the real thing is too good for a diet version to compare.  SkinnyGirl is not terrible, but it's not worth it to me to forgo a tasty margarita.  If I drank a lot of margaritas all the time, perhaps I'd be willing to go with a diet version now and then, though.

Loved how uninterested Bethenny's staff looked I her attempts at humor "...so I ended up humping Jamie Foxx! Look how much I don't care what people think about that!!" Their wan smiles as they barely glanced up from their work said it all "Bitch please. We have work to do." It's i stark contrast to the boundary pushing relationship she had with Julie or all of her young lackeys on"Bethenny Ever After." I always felt really uncomfortable for her employees and wondered how they put up with her constant need to blur the lines of boss/employee. I remember she called them all a "band of misfits," it was so odd and inappropriate. Looks like her money paid for real employees.

She needs a good groomer or hell even a competent one. The dogs and the 1 that passed are cute as hell but some attention would be smashing. The hair isn't shaped and is stained also its all frizzed.

Sonja herself has never been a raving beauty but has looked rough the past 2 years. JMHO!!

I think Carole's faker than fake and really feeling herself way too much. I don't know why she's felt compelled to put on this performance as the quirky, fun, full off life/experiences/wisdom chica maybe it comes from a place of insecurity. Maybe arrogance. I don't really give a damn or care to sort it out since all of these HW are damaged goods, sob stories, "Poor me! look at all I suffer(ed)? ---Pause--- Ain't I cute and amazing? Envy this." And she and the ones who pull that schick look like hags and reek of try hard.

I kinda like Sonja's hairstyle & cut, altho my mom had that style in the '70's & my sis had that style when she was a high school cheerleader in the '80's.  Is it a "classic" style or just boring & dated?  Does she cut it herself or have the intern-slaves do it?  Her hair color seems fairly well-maintained.  The color looks kinda nice to me & not much roots showing.  Maybe she sends the intern-slaves to go begging for change in front on Bloomie's (she's only 3 blocks away) & scoops up the change to get a box of color in Duane Reade?

Last year, I was in DC and decided to get some for whatever reason, and I just couldn't drink it. I swear they changed the formula when Beam took it and made it horrible. Another note, I am not sure if it is still true, but when I originally tried it I noticed that it is not as low-cal as they want you to think. It was some trick with the serving size, which was so small it was ridiculous. As if they were just hoping people would only look at calories and think it was good. I don't remember the exact numbers, but it seemed like it worked out to being just slightly less than a real margarita. Maybe Beam had to change it so they wouldn't be hit for false advertising and that's why it tastes so bad now.

I think a lot of what Bethanny will be showing is because she can't really include anything in her real life--just her business.

I remember reading (I thought it was right before they started filming this season) that she had moved out of her apartment but was staying with her millionaire boyfriend and then I think before the show aired, she said he also refuses to be involved with the Housewives.  So she can't film the apartment where Bryn and Jason live, she can't film the boyfriend she is seeing/staying with, so all that's left is events and her business.    Nice of Frederick to give her someone to film with--I somehow doubt that he would be showing her that little apartment if it wasn't for the show.

I'm probably alone in this, but I never thought Josh was all that awful.  Kristen is exhausting with her whining and neediness, and she's also not too bright so I'm sure it's hard to stay patient when she starts in over & over again.   I was done with her after her first episode, and he's been with her much longer than that!  Yeah, he doesn't always act loving and sweet, but she was intent last season on painting him in the worst possible light since she's clearly comfortable playing the poor-little-me victim role.  She will never be satisfied unless he stays home all day and tells her every hour on the hour how much he loves her.  I find her shockingly immature.

 

I think she also seems really lazy, quick to complain, and almost resentful that she has children.  At least he's out there working hard to support his family.  Having a business is stressful and time-consuming.  She gets to be home with a nanny and all the freedom to do whatever she wants, so she really should just shut up about how hard her life is.  Or at least have a conversation like an adult.  Women like Kristen are exhaustingly high-maintenance.  Personally, I think Josh could do better.  She's no prize by any means.

 

Her friendship with Brandi doesn't help me like her much either.  I don't follow her on Twitter, but I heard she was defending Brandi after the recent BH reunion.  I have no idea what planet either of them are living on, but it would make me happy to see them ride off into the sunset together.  Josh deserves to be married to a grown woman with some intelligence, IMO.  I think they're really not well-suited at all.

I have tried several of the Skinny Girl products because I wanted to like them. I remember when Beth talked about her Skinny Girl homemade Margarita in S1 I think. I tried it and loved it, so I thought I would love the botteld stuff. To me, it is all horrible. Horrible. Having said that, it must be doing well. The big secret in the food/drink business is shelf space. There is simply not enough room in the store for everything. You fight hard for it; like you would not believe. When you expand a brand as she has done, with new and additional products, it doesn't happen if the existing brands are not doing well. This line has expanded like crazy, and I cannot believe that would be happening if folks were not buying it, although the key is in repeat purchases. I wonder how many folks who buy it once will buy it again? Did I say I think it is all horrible?

ETA: maybe enough people have tried it and are not doing it anymore. The expansion might be coming to an end. Maybe this is why Beth was interested in doing this show?

I just can't with Ramona and her newfound understanding of divorce and it's impact. Ramona is not a 20 year old. She is in her mid-50's. She has seen people go through divorce in her life. You don't need to have someone cheat on you to know it sucks or to have empathy for them. She was so smug for way too long with Lu. If it had been one or two comments, it wouldn't bother me. It was a pattern for Ramona to try and make Lu look bad while at the same time making herself look superior. And not just about the marriage stuff; she seemed to enjoy painting Lu as a bad parent. I hate her kind of personality. If it didn't happen to Ramona, then it didn't happen and it doesn't matter. Only when that thing happens to her does she care at all.  I am going to hate watching her garner sympathy in a situation where she had no sympathy for others.

I am by no means a big Ramona fan, but I watched one of the older episodes the have been airing--the one where he sang a song to her to "serenade her" in front of all the friends...and in front of America.    What a prick---   knowing her, I can't think of too much else that would be more humiliating to her looking back.  If he was screwing around, the least he could have done is stay wayyyyyyy in the background if he appeared on the show.    Him being actively in that scene gives her a place to have her go on and on about her perfect marriage and how much they love each other.  I don't care how crazy she is, nobody deserves that.  I'd put him up there with Kelsey Grammer and the Count in terms of ex-husband assholes.    The Count let LuAnn know he was done via text--but I don't think he ever appeared with her and made it look like they were all romantic and lovey dovey--he showed up once in a while, but mostly stayed in the background.

 

And didn't it take Carole like 8 years to write the Widow's Guide?  What the heck was she thinking to commit to another book in a year.  I think this is all for the show.  First off did the Widow's Guide sell very well?  I can't picture anyone pestering her for her next book that quickly.

Him being actively in that scene gives her a place to have her go on and on about her perfect marriage and how much they love each other. I don't care how crazy she is, nobody deserves that. I'd put him up there with Kelsey Grammer and the Count in terms of ex-husband assholes. The Count let LuAnn know he was done via text--but I don't think he ever appeared with her and made it look like they were all romantic and lovey dovey--he showed up once in a while, but mostly stayed in the background.

And didn't it take Carole like 8 years to write the Widow's Guide? What the heck was she thinking to commit to another book in a year. I think this is all for the show. First off did the Widow's Guide sell very well? I can't picture anyone pestering her for her next book that quickly.

Maybe she got a 2 or 3 book deal after the success of What Remains? I could see it, her first book was pretty well received both critically and commercially. Since they had to wait over a decade to get The Devil Wears Something Borowed to the Funeral of the YAYA Sisterhood, the publishing company may be anxious to get what they can out of this deal and move on.

PS is the TV show happening? Carole's been talking about it for a while, but we haven't sceen anything yet. Odd since it sounds like the perfect thing for Bravo's new scripted programming. Maybe it's too similar to The Girlfriends Guide to Divorce.

RHNY is not unlike the Girlfriends Guide to Divorce considering we saw Luann through her divorce, and are now seeing Ramona and Bethany through theirs,and Sonja is still acting like she's going through a divorce 10 years later.  Kristin and Heather are the only wives on the show.

I've never been a big Carole fan, but I don't remember her doing the giggly dumb girl act before. Besides everything we know about her career, I recently read that she has an MBA. What does she accomplish by acting like this?

Solid proof that she's an even bigger pothead than we ever realized?

There were many times last season Carole struck me as being a giggly dumb girl.  When she 'entertained' the others at her house and served M&Ms and pizza, bragging about staying up late and editing other people's Wiki pages. The list she put together as 'must haves' for her birthday party.  The bear scare in Montana was pulled off like I imagine a giggly 12 year old would do.  It had the potential to be funnier.  And for the $600 she paid for the costume, it should have been, but she's got this dumb girl act that makes her always seem like she's not smart enough to know how or when to pull the trigger. Some of her clothing choices come off as less quirky, more giggly dumb girl to me.

 

Now something nice....her hair looked pretty in a couple of her talking heads last night.

Say what you want about Kristen (and I agree with many of the comments here - particularly the one about how she sometimes seems resentful that she has children), but she can ROCK an outfit like none of the other ladies. I'd be totally fine if she was removed from the show and just left in the opening credits looking FIERCE in that top and pants. :P

 

I'm pretty much underwhelmed by her looks & by what she wears.

 

It's fascinating, isn't it, how people can have such varying opinions?  Vive la difference!

The most interesting thing about newbie Dorina is that her boyfriend looks like he could be a brother of her late husband. He isn't of course, but odd that she doesn't seem to notice the resemblance. Or is it just me? And the worst thing about Dorina is her vapid daughter. Dorina claims that her daughter dropped out of college three years after her step father passed because she could not cope with the loss and needed to find herself. If her daughter's behaviour in her debut scene is any indication she may have flunked out just because she is not that bright. I did laugh at Dorina saying she didn't want to carry a purse with a tongue, when the necklace she was wearing in her lunch with Ramona seemed to feature a big mouth with teeth.

 

Kristen is just as boring as ever. I laughed when she said her relationship with hubby is so much better, then she proceeded to berate him as per usual.

 

Why has Carol done a 180? Last year she went on and on about how important her work is to her. Now she doesn't care? And claims to not know that contracts have deadlines? WTH has happened to her? Apparently she feels she has to dumb herself down to get boy toys. And who knows, maybe she does. But it isn't something I am interested in witnessing.

 

Bethany. I have no words. She will always be a glass half empty (or in her case bone dry) person. Four years with her must have felt like a life sentence to Jason. I know it would to me.

So I had no intention of watching this season. I didn't even know that it had come back. But I follow podcasts and things that mentioned and it and I'm going to give it a trial run and see if it's more entertaining than aggravating with the cast shake-ups. I kind of like Bethenny though I do not believe for a second that she's happy about the talk show ending because she didn't enjoy doing it.

 

It seems like Josh is on his best behavior. We'll see how long this lasts.

 

Luanne sounds croakier than usual. Her relationship with Sonja isn't a great storyline but it holds more water than Heather's supportiveness and enabling? What? Sit down. How long have you even known her, Ms. Heather? You can't trick me into thinking you've been on the cast longer than you have. 

 

LOL. I enjoyed the way Bethenny fired questions at Luanne. It was like she was interviewing her on her talk show. I also enjoyed the frantic ice-shaking. So hilariously rude.

What? Without Aviva around forcing her to prove she's a writer Carole's new brand is incompetent, loose bohemian?

 

So this Dorinda person is Ramona's friend, huh? I'm reserving judgment.

 

So Beverly Hills is just surrounded by tragedy. But with NY I wonder if they would have all gotten divorced anyway. I don't really feel like it's the show creating these problems. Is Heather the only one who is happily married?

 

I know a lot of people like Carole. I never liked Carole. I didn't watch RHONY until recently but I think Bethenny is so much better at doing what Carole was trying to do than Carole was.

 

"You birthed me. Why do you charge me for living?" was little bratty in context but I did enjoy it. It was a good line. Hannah wears too much makeup though. 

 

How does Sonja keep getting interns? Is that a new dog?

 

For now I don't mind Dorinda and the boyfriend. At least he does something sort of interesting.

 

If Carole was as brash and awkward with all the fetish stuff it would annoy me but for some reason with Bethenny I am amused by it.

 

As long as there's enough Bethenny I'm tentatively in for this season.

Just catching up on the shows (thanks Demand).  I would need $10million if I had to live 10 minutes with Bethany.  She is my least favorite HW.  So disappointed she is back and hoping she isn't going to take over the whole show.

Missed Heather.  Loved seeing little Kingsley running!  That brought such joy : )

Luanne's house is so pretty.  So far I like the new housewife & glad Ramona has someone to talk to. 

   Sonja is  just sad.
