Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

I'm going to say something nice about a Rod. These photos look really nice and both parents look genuinely happy and interested in their children. They only have two, though. Could be different 8-10 years down the line when they have 10.

Why cant she say Great pictures of Nathan and Nuri and their children.  The Nathan Keller Family is so impersonal and gives all the recognition to Nathan.

I laugh at her cover pic on their blog. The arrows with the words Keller Family and Hill Family. Certainly she will be soon adding an arrow pointing to the Timothy Rodrigues Family. It will have to be worded that way lest Tim and Heidi, arms clamped on each other, are confused as part of the rest of the rod fam.

It bothers me that she worded it as "Pastor and Pastor's Wife." Why couldn't it have just been "serving together in ministry" or "leading/ guiding a small church together." That's rhetorical, I know it's worded that way to reaffirm that only MEN can be leaders and pastors.

When looking at those pictures, I thought, "What a nice little family, why can't they just stop with the 2 kids?" Of course her batshit crazy mama is probably asking Nurie if she's pregnant again, every damn day.

Oooh Jill is desperate for that Hawaii trip if she contacting randos on the internet to get them to join her downline.

He is just worn out dealing with her.   He may share her hateful views, but it doesn't mean she isn't EXHAUSTING to be around.  If she were just spewing her hateful views, he might be more engaged.   But its all the constant keeping her placated and constant attention that cuases him to check out.

Oh who am I kidding?   He is checked out because he found a great way to not have to work.   She could be quiet as a mouse but he would still nap in front of the map all day.

Well, not ALL day.  He still manages to wake up long enough to do the dirty. 🤮

I just pictured Dave wearing his sexy leggings and sipping hummingbird juice/plexus cocktail smiling sexily, giving Jill a wink and saying

Wonder how many kids before Nate and Noorie will look checked out?

We'll know when Nurie's painful-looking grimace becomes permanent, and Nathan sits and stares at a map on the wall. No TV, just a map.

Where are they living now? In a tiny house? if so, I'll say kid #5.

It's probably mean of me to hope that either his testicles or her uterus packs it in after #3, but there it is. Neither of them has enough sense to realize that cramming 10, 12, 15 people in a small house on a very tight budget is a recipe for misery.

Nathan already painfully screams/wails before meals. Staring at a map silently seems like a good plan lol.

And Jill and Dave will move in permanently in a decade or 2. That house better have a backyard for a RV for Jill and David.

Do you mean an RV for Nathan, Nurie, and Ns 1-10? No way will Jill settle for living on wheels when there's a perfectly good house waiting for her to fill with schlock decorate. And who cares if the house is currently occupied by her cash cow son-in-law and his family.

The extensions are getting longer, but they're all there. Jill is wearing earrings the same color as the wall behind her.

Is she wearing a necklace under the light pink top?

Jill is always wearing something new.  Even if it's all from the Salvation Army, she seems to have plenty of time to shop for herself.

I hope the Rodlets didn't wear their denim swimwear in Pastor Vinny's pool.

I suppose this is all part of the healing process.

It’s how they have their Facebook page, similar to Jill’s. Must be such good friends to refer to them this way. 🤦‍♀️

Seriously, that is very weird, clunky language. Pastor and Mrs. Vinny-Terri Sawyer and Evangelist Schwanke. Is "Evangelist" a new honorific? When I fill out forms from now on, can I write "Evangelist Heathen"?

Tots and pears for Jill's continued healing.

You know, many years ago (like ten) when I first met a couple that shared a Facebook page, I didn’t realize it was shared for the longest. I knew the woman through my disability advocacy work and i thought she had a traditionally male middle name.

Seeing these shared social media pages makes me think “why??” If one person doesn’t want or doesn’t care for social media why do they need to be on the page.

I knew a few religious couples that insisted on having a joint Facebook page. Their reasoning was having separate pages was a vehicle for infidelity. I kid you not.

That's always been my take on why many couples have joint FB pages. Another form of "accountability" - like the Duggars' "accountability partner" practice.

Plus limited access to the internet. And when we see their account, we will know how godly they both are.

Yeah, apparently social media is a gateway to infidelity.  There’s also the whole “accountability partner” thing that we see so frequently.  The spouses becomes the other’s accountability partner once they marry. Hence the double billing on Facebook.  Can’t do anything alone (even shopping) because someone is bound to see you alone and think you are up to no good.  And FB is the devil, so you MUST gird your loins by including your spouse in your account.  Regardless of the fact that they give zero shits about your friends’ family photos, JeeSauce rants and recipes to feed an army.  It’s all about spousal control or the perceived facade of such…

I suspect that the odd reference to Vinney-Terry was a failed attempt to tag their page.  When tagging doesn't quite work, the results can look awkward.

I initially misread @oliviabenson's post as who prayed for the meal for 8 people.  But when it was followed up with certainly not David I knew it referenced paying.  Also, the guy in the white shirt in that photo looks creepy.  He looks like he's eying up a teenage girl at the next table.

How horrible it must be to not trust your spouse or partner. I'm friends with my husband on FB but rarely even go to his page. I trust him. He trusts me.

I sure David did pray for a big meal. He probably does that a lot. However, he's not going to pay for anyone's food, including his own. My money is on Pastor Vinny (andTerri). They have a nice house with a pool.

Yep.  You either trust your partner or you don't.  If they want to cheat a shared Facebook page won't stop it.

It's pretty funny that they neeed someone to stop them from cheating as if it's inevitable. If you go to Walmart alone, you will end up banging someone in the frozen section.

But seriously, I think it's a way for the cheater to blame their partner. "It"s not my fault, you're the one who didn't stop me!"

I wonder how David’s friends feel about always buying him meals and giving him $? They can see he is a lazy person?

But he's a godly man just ask him, and he'll preach unceasingly about it.  He has a godly family too.  What does a bit of laziness matter?

I'll bet Evangelist Schwanke is running the same grift as David is. He's hard at work saving souls and has no time to do anything else.

I suppose Nathan could have picked up part of the cost of the meal, but Pastor Vinny looks like the obvious mark here.

As to shared Social meda, we have friends who are hardly evangelicals or fundies. But, they share everything and sign with both names. It is "His initial Her initial last name". If I want to send her a message, it is to their shared account.  Same with email. sometimes he responds.  They are just regular folks it has always seemed to us, since we have known them 40 years, just their quirk.  I think they would be horrified to be considered like the Rodriquezes.  does anyone remember the comic strip For Better or For Worse?  And there were two teenage characters called "Rich'nAmy" and they were always intwined as if they were one person.

Chapel service today for Phillip was something called "cowbell" preaching. Each of the 5 male students were on for a turn to preach lasting 8min. then a cowbell cuts you off.

Phillip up first - omg he was so hard to follow. Phillip, of course, goes all intellectual. Did not have his bible passage references bookmarked and took forever turning pages. He is trying to explain "where did Jesus go for the 3 days between Crucifixion and Resurrection".  the first day he was in the bosom of abraham?? wth. lots of like and ums.

The other 4 guys i found interesting and their messages were topics most could relate to.

2nd guy preached on the Ripple Effect of your life.

3rd guy is the one Jill and her ilk need to listen to. I believe he stated he was there to be a music director or something. But dang he was dead on about the arrogance of christians trying to reach the unbeliever and thinking the were better and more loved by god than the unsaved. He gave an example warning of bragging at walmart, how to talk to non believing friends at work without arrogance etc

4th guy - on believing even in dire circumstances. Used the fiery furnace story of Sadrach, Mesach and Abendego (my 2nd favorite bible story after the one on evil demons sent into a herd of swine that then ran off a cliff)

5th guy - on serving and keeping faith when being weary.

any hoo, Phillip walking up to preach. still has the weird belt .😬☹️Screenshot(364).png.3663e27ba9e303272eeed1a94b914937.png
