Sweet Fellowship: Duggars and Friends (aka the Bates Family and Other Featured Families Thread)

Message added by Scarlett45

If a person/family was never featured on any of the Duggar shows, and is not related to the Duggar family by blood or marriage, they do not need to be discussed here..

The Politics Policy is still in effect. A participants social media is NOT an invitation to discuss their political view points. Consider if discussion of certain social media posts will cause you to violate the politics policy BEFORE you hit the "Submit Reply" button.

We may all agree that David Rodriques is quite unfortunate looking, but let's refrain from comparing human beings to apes, its got way too much of a loaded history- please review the new Inclusion Policy updated May 1, 2022 , which details guidelines around discussing body type, capabilities, physical appearance etc. Additionally, using body size as an insult is not allowed.

It really bugs me how the Ass Raper has to mention that his victim worked in a strip club.  Because of course only filthy whores who will do it with anybody work in strip clubs, and her employment in one necessarily means he is innocent. She probably even lured him into her bedroom with her evil, nasty ways. That's what women who work in strip clubs do!

I’m glad to see a pic, seems like they had fallen off the radar for some time!  I can’t imagine what her married life must be like.

Hopefully, for her sake, he really is redeemed. I doubt it, but for her sake I hope he is.

Yup, just an extension of - "What were you wearing?" "Did you lead him on?" "Why didn't you scream?"

I do hope he's not still the asshole and assfucker that he was though.

My take away is that a woman's worth is $943 in South Carolina. I wonder if he would have been ordered to pay more in restitution if she worked in an office or retail.

Since it’s Wednesday, I thought we all might need some TFDW in our lives! Priscilla looks like she may be expecting which would mean that David had thought four times about a half naked Jesus draped in just a loin cloth with all of his manly muscles rippling just so...all while putting his thang thang in a gross who ha.

First of all, they probably gave the waitress a religious tract and probably gave thanks to God for leading them to a free meal.

Second of all, the video. The way he talks to his wife and children remind me of the way some of my fellow ex co-workers would talk to the clients in the group home I use to work at. I wanted to slap him. And yes, I will go to you know where for this, but what the heck is with Priscilla. Can you imagine trying to have a real non related religious conversation with her.

The video they posted yesterday is so cringey. She does look pregnant.

Hot Jesus on a cracker.

One: I enjoyed Paul’s (he will always be P. Willy Waller in my heart) narration 1,000 times better than Prissy’s.

Two: Its chip dip, Prissy. Spit it out. It’s also not going to feed between 30-60 people. Learn to get a head count.

Three: Your hair would look lovely straight and not in those awful, hairsprayed curls. Is this the fundie look that won’t die? Is this style going to be the DJ Tanner bangs of Michelle Duggar’s generation? It’s a nice distraction from your obvious baby bump though, so good job on that.

Four: I will give it to the Waller’s. They turned that death trap of a house into something pretty nice. I want a full house tour, David, and after I listened to Priscilla prattle on for the duration of that video, I feel like I’m entitled.

I made it until the kiddos started singing "Jesus Loves Me", then looked and realized I had only gone through two and a half minutes of a seven-plus minute video and spared my ears, eyes and brain cells the rest. The house does look OK, and she does look pregnant. That's about all I've got.

Did you make it to the end of that song? It sounded like Prissy changed the “yes, Jesus loves me” to “yes, Jesus saves me.” The indoctrination, it starts so young.

My word- free pancakes, waters and a gaggle of kids with syrup.  That waiter/waitress deserves a medal.

Of course it was for donations to Children's Hospital which they probably didn't do...?

Of course all they order is the pancakes. God for bid they spring for a side of bacon or sausage. They probably left the waitress a crap tip as well.

Tip? More like a tract.

And hopping on to Waller Wednesday, they went on a cruise and were appalled at all the drinking. Even a blog commenters said they were being too critical.

Damn, that was painful to watch.  I would rather go through a major surgery than have to hang out with those two.

Well you missed where they left 30+ permanent markers on the edge of a table where a toddler got ahold of it. Marker bowl was not moved because... Jesus will keep him from writing on the walls?

It’s a new type of blanket training. ?

If I was on a cruise with these two, I would want to drink and party too. I can picture them trying to save the evil heathens from a life of sin. And yes, I do not drink at all.

Can't stop laughing! You are more than entitled since you made it through that video. I made it till she started talking about the big roll of toilet paper in the bag and explaining the tissue paper. OMG, that VOICE!!! Who the hell could listen to that all day long???

Being our first time on a cruise we were surprised/saddened to see the drinking and party life.

Good fucking grief, these two should really never leave the house because there are sinners everywhere..lol

I have to wonder just what amount of "drinking and partying" it would actually take to "surprise and sadden" them...Was this a wild party cruise or one where people enjoyed a drink or two with dinner and did a bit of dancing? I'd imagine that they would feel themselves out of place (and above it all ) either way. Hopefully they limited their tract-distribution to the town marketplace and didn't try to foist them on people trying to have some fun on the cruise.

Sweet jesus. Priscilla is the town moron. Something is seriously wrong. When David said "What's Mommy been doing all day?" I wanted the kid to say "mommy's been drinking wine".

What did these two expect would be on a cruise? I'm sure people ordering a couple of dinner cocktails was just shocking to them. I doubt they walked in the ship's bars and saw this. Also, they would NOT have walked in any room where dancing music was being played.

Alyssa and John Webster went on a cruise with John's family a little while ago. We heard no such comments from Alyssa. She also wore shorts on that trip.

Back to Prissy.....she's one of a kind, but she is a gentle, kind person and I'd probably choose her to be my next door neighbor rather than any of the Duggars, including here sister, ANNNNNA.

I just watched the video, and holy shit, Prisicilla thinks that tiny casserole dish of dip and a dozen cupcakes are going to feed 30 people?! I didn't even see a punch bowl or any beverages set out. It took her all day to come up with that?

I also think it's funny how she's hosting this shower for a "friend" yet had no idea how many children this "friend" had. These are truly a weird bunch of people.

I would live next door to Jana and take her out to see the real world outside of Duggar Land. I do not drink, smoke or party, but I can take her out shopping, to the movie, visit and talk with women of all ages, take classes at the local community college, and introduce to nice, kind, decent looking men who would value her as a possible wife and mother to their children. Heck I would help her find a job she wants to do and earn a real paycheck.

Sounds lovely but I think she would be terrified and not trust you or your motives. Sad.

I would think people going in their first cruise would do a bit of research especially when they have such aversions. How cheap did they get this trip, I wonder. And why even refer to the bargain? I guess they thought they had to justify the trip.

And they decided to listen to an audio tape about marriage instead. OMG !! I can't drink due to my meds & my partying days are waning, but even I would be able to find something more exciting to do than that.  Hello Casino.... (I know, another No No for them but is gambling worse than drinking alcohol in their world ?)

I could only handle the first couple minutes of the baby shower video. Like others, I can't decipher her mumbling speech & i really tried to listen closely. How do the kids understand her?  But i will have to go back to hear "Jesus Loves/Saves me."

When Pris' head popped into the screen, I thought we caught her in the middle of doing her hair. Then I realized she was done & that must have been the look she was going for (fundie extra banana  curly?) At least it does take attention away from her stomach like someone said.  It's about time for another blessing.

If you keep going 'til the end you can see the room where they'll be doing fellowship and devotional before the games begin.

Maybe they were hoping to save heathen souls on the cruise by handing out religious tracts and spreading their own version of the gospel.

Doesn't Priss control the internet password as part of their marriage deal. Maybe after years of this life she's ready for some drinking and partying, and was hoping she'd get a chance on the boat. Then David was appalled, so she had to be too.

After the posts, I armed myself with a beer and a late lunch and watched the video.  I should have armed myself with tequilla.

1) D's voice - it's that super calm almost creepy sound that makes me want to ask what prescription meds he's on and can I have some.

2) Prissy's hair - all I could think of was, Oh, so this is what Nellie Olson, from LIttle House on the Prairie looked like when she grew up.

3) You have enough chip dip for like 5 people.

4) You do NOT sprinkle, what was it? Picante sauce?

5) You have enough cupcakes for maybe 10-12 people, esp. if some are gluten sensitive.

6) You have 30 adults plus daughters coming, um, I suggest you call Dominos NOW!

7) You have one game with like 8 pieces of chocolate for 40 people!!!!  Not even Amazon prime can help you at this point.

8) THAT"S what you wanted to wear?

9) Please tell me that this took ALL day to prepare because the house looked like Jessa's this morning, otherwise, um, HOW would that take all day?

10)  Is she on helium with that voice?

Off to the prayer closet I go, after I finish the yard work.

Outside of a specially-arranged alcohol-free cruise, I doubt they’re going to be able to avoid seeing other people drink, but partying can be avoided by picking the correct cruise line and ship.  Although you may have to pay a little bit more in that case. I wonder if there are fundie travel agents that specialize in that sort of thing?

Isn't alcohol, in general and in moderation, one of those things like women wearing pants? Where it's sort of up to the individual whether he/she feels "convicted" to abstain? Or is it sort of generally whispered that anyone who is not thus convicted is obviously not a "True Christian"?

The Wallers on their 6th Anniversary trip. You can't make this shit up.

The Sacred Marriage series they listened to was written and spoken by my brother in law, my sister's husband. He is an author and speaker of many religious books.

So they:

1. Went on a cruise and were dismayed by the drinking and partying?

2. Handed out bible tracts to people on said cruise and ports of call?

3. Found times and places to enjoy the cruise where the “negative influences” were not present?

its a freaking CRUISE. People specifically go on them to party.  What blooming idiots these two are.

Why are Fundies so scared of sharing the Gospel with Americans??

"There were over two thousand guests on board the ship. We were fascinated to learn that there were over eight hundred crew as well. Less than two dozen of the crew were US citizens. All the others came from a variety of other countries. We enjoyed reaching out to them to get to know them and share the Gospel with them and had many good opportunities to visit."
