S06.E06: Fear and Loathing

I only saw the 20 minute preview which just had Tiffany and Angela. The only thing I am going to say is something that someone posted on Twitter or IG which is how can Tiffany's dad NOT know about Ronald's gambling issues and conviction for stealing.  They are on an international tv program.  If Dad didn't watch the season, one of his buddies or their wives would have and it would have gotten back to Tiffany's dad.

I watched the entire episode on Discovery+.  

I think Tiffany and Ronald stage their own drama just to stay on the show.  

As you said, there's no fucking way her daddy didn't watch her season with Ronald.  He was in the wedding episode, so I can't believe he wouldn't have watched it.  He lives in Maryland, not on Mars. 

Also, as soon as she said her dad had come back into her life a couple of years ago, I immediately thought, "Yeah, when he found out you were going to be married on a TV show."  Ugh.  

I don't want to give spoilers for anyone who doesn't yet have access to the full episode, but I'll just say I snarked my way through the entire episode and come back tomorrow night after everyone has had a chance to watch the entire thing.

Those previews of the Potthast coven's argument escalating to an apparent physical altercation had me falling out of my chair laughing.  Normally I would just assume it was staged, but the way that crew loves their alcohol, I'm thinking it might have been "staged" but goes south pretty quickly.  Yes, I am wringing my hands in anticipation.

We also saw Mike’s mom in her weird hat - more of a summer hat and it looked odd when she pulled it down. Telling Natalie she should stay at home and be a housewife and cook and clean and do laundry. Not pursue any dreams of her own. Uh, Trish, your son married her. Not you. 
 

Angela will also need a facelift? Who is paying for all of these surgeries?

Nope, don't judge country people from Mama Mullet and Mike.     I had a lot of relatives in that part of Oklahoma, and they were great people.      

Mike and Mama are just awful human beings.    

Since Tiffy's bio. dad was wearing a wedding ring, he's going to buy another house, and have Tiffy and the kids, and criminal Ron move there?   Bet his wife won't be thrilled about that.

Well I'm fitting right in here, because I absolutely loathe Mike's mom and her smug puss. Not really a fan of Natalie, but Mom needs to butt right out. Mike calls her "strong" but opinionated and pushy is not strong; it's simply obnoxious. And I know I've seen Natalie sweeping up, cooking and washing dishes, so Mike is full of it. I think that place looked really sloppy when she moved in and it looks a lot better now.

Similarly, Angela is not strong, either. Having a loud mouth and doing as you please is not strong. BTW, her new pictures look like the doctor left her more like a B cup or a C cup. Mykull not gonna be happy, but if I were Angela, I'd be happy not to be toting my bowling balls around any more. I'd love to be able to afford that surgery.

Brandon's friend is equally obnoxious as Trish, I don't blame Julia for leaving. As usual, Brandon is tone deaf to Julia and he only knows how to stick up for other people.

Brandon is the worst excuse for a man in this whole franchise, and that's saying something in a place where David (mmmmmmmm), Caesar, Colt, and Big Ed wallow. The way that smarmy little weasel condescends, belittles and gaslights Julia makes me stabby.

I think you hit the nail right on the head, she thinks everyone is laughing WITH her and not AT her. My question would be, what self respecting medical professional would agree to continue with a patient who speaks to them like that and disregards all of their advice? The answer: none. Boy have I changed my thoughts on the Natalie and Mike drama over time. Initially, they seemed like a decent match to me when he was visiting her at Mama's apartment. Then when she came here, it still seemed to me that he was trying and sincere and she was flying off the wall reacting crazily to everything. I was giving up on them due to her. Now, watching it, I think he is horrible, Trish is beyond horrible, and Natalie is difficult but making the most sense of anyone.

I loved when in her cameo she said Trish's piggy collection was "impressive" "wow, cool".

(and yes, loved her complementing the stunning fabric of Trish''s shirt.........and Mike saying her home was coming together and was "snazzy " or some similar word).

Gotta take my laughs where I can get them.

Overall, it was a very boring show and I even watched Pillow Talk (usually I fall asleep) which is my all time favorite but last night it fell totally flat.

I think Natalie was pretty nice to even go to Trish’s house after she tried to stop the wedding.  I don’t know if I would have done it so soon.  Natalie doesn’t even owe it to Mike after he left her that way.  But, it’s a show .. so.  Now Natalie has to smell the Turkey cooking all day.  She’ll probably throw up.

Another week of Angela getting a doctor to speak to her husband on the phone is just more repetitive BS.  Then she sits in the office with the Dr. just standing there while she and Michael argue.  This has to be the most ridiculous storyline in the history of the show.   I am just not going to watch live anymore, so I can just FF through them the next day.  Does Mike even see himself and how he is treating his wife?  He is a complete jerk and he has nothing to offer, he is not even good looking.  He should marry his mother, she seems to be the one making him happy.  Maybe if they didn't treat Natalie like garbage she would not be so defensive.  She is not perfect, but no one deserves that kind of treatment from their husband and his mother. Also, the house looks disgusting, dirty (she stepped on a nail in the carpet)?  I would not eat anything that creepy woman cooked.  Libby is a fool to listen to her sister.  Her sister just wants to ruin her marriage because they don't like her husband.  Evil coven.  Can't wait till they are cracking each other around next week.  Tiffany and Ronald are doomed as are Asuelo and Kalani, although now that Low will be financially responsible, she will not walk away so easily.

I’ve been an avid viewer of the franchise since the early episodes but by the time the couples are being viewed for the third or fourth seasons, there is nothing that makes them interesting except their dysfunction and even that is boring when it is repeaated  ad nauseum.  I’m about to bail until there are some new couples.

Mike and Natalie should have booked a hotel room.  Mike’s mom also knows that she is a vegetarian/pescatarian and should ask her what kind of food she likes and a recipe she likes so she can make it or help Natalie make it.

Well, I was kicking myself for missing the live chat 4 weeks in a row due to holiday weekends and other conflicts.  This was a pretty snarkworthy episode, although because I watched the preview on Friday, it was pretty repetitive.

I cannot watch this show when it airs, because I want to FF thru the people that bore/annoy me the most.  I find all of them awful, but I can watch some of it.

Brandon/Julia---he looks like his mom, but probably acts more like his awful father.  She needs to work on her English.  The girl that had been friends with Brandon was rude to Julia.  Brandon should have quickly steered the conversation in another direction, but he isn't too bright.  I still think he wants the foreign wife to impress the people who ignored him in school.  Looks like they were headed off to some make-up sex.

Asuelu amd Kalani --so boring this season.   I cannot imagine that such a significant change in immigration law is retroactive. 

Trish, Mike, and Natalie--- Trish is such a buttinsky.  And, no, I am not sure Natalie's English is up to snuff enough to make $$$$$ as a translator.   She's better than Julia and Yara, but I doubt she is up to translating legal documents or acting as an interpreter in judicial settings. From the earlier season, I was under the impression that Natalie wanted a baby, but maybe I picked that up because her mother was portrayed as wanting a grandchild--or did I dream that?  I love Oklahoma, but I would hate to stay with Trish amd Mike.  It is 2 against 1 plus a Thanksgiving dinner she will hate.  I cannot stand Natalie, but I felt sorry for her.

Elizabeth and Andrrrrrei--- another great discussion between Charlie and Andrei.  The sister gives bad advice.  I have no idea what Elizabeth does for "work," but I doubt it is full time.   Maybe she should consider a Mother's morning out program.  I tend to ff thru this couple.

Tiffany and Ronald--another couple that causes me to hit the FF button.  I was shocked that the VISA got approved.  So far I like her dad, but I cannot stand her mother.   I feel sorry for the children, and I hate that Daniel is on the show.   Probably best for everyone for Ronald to stay in SA.  Unless the dad has been living under a rock, he has seen all the episodes and knows all about Ronald. 

Michael and Angela---this whole surgery puzzles me--perhaps because I have seen far too many episodes of My600PL.  I cannot imagine doing breast reduction plus a sleeve at the same time.  I was horrified years ago at all the surgery the people on shows like The Swan had done at the same time so I guess I shouldn't be concerned or shocked that she is considering a face lift, too.  I was surprised her friend left so soon.  At least, she seems to realize that doctors can determine if she hasn't quit smoking.   None of her doctors seem unusually handsome to me, but I guess she really is into flattering men--especially if she thinks it will make them forget she smokes and is probably not the most compliant patient.  And Michael, $25K is not going to get you a child from Angela.

Ok, in what universe is a Ukrainian Translator a high demand job, enough to warrant pushing someone into?  That was one of THE most ridiculous expectations that I've ever seen on this show and we all know ridiculous runs rampant.  There's probably one or two needed in various areas; no doubt some kind of contractor deal.  Again, not much of a market.  Does Oklahoma have all these want ads for Ukrainians or something?  Where the hell did Momma Mullet come up with this shit?  Bizarre.

There would be a limited demand for Ukrainian translators, especially if you are in an area with a lot of Ukrainians! Natalie could call or contact nearby universities and colleges for any translator type opportunities or even teaching basic Ukrainian to folks.

I told my niece (the one for whom I'm losing brain cells and $7.55/month watching this stupid franchise) that I'm officially done with Angela/Michael. Unless something major happens (e.g. Angela gets pregnant, Michael gets someone pregnant), I'm FF'ing through their scenes from here on out and I'm no longer wasting any keystrokes on them.

I'm still catching up on the Tiffany/Ronald and Kalani/Asuelu histories but I maintain that these two women are cut from the same pathetic cloth. They both act like there aren't other men out here who will be good husbands and fathers to their kids. And some of them don't have criminal records/act their actual age.

I haven't caught up on the Libby/Andrei history either but theirs is another storyline I'm thinking about FF'ing through (after next week's episode; I want to see if anyone gets thrown overboard). Why the hell is Andrei even messing with her family? On the flip side: what would Libby do if Andrei cut ties (employment-wise) with them completely? She too may be of the opinion that the family business is the only place where they can get work.

Brandon can leave my screen at any time. Any. TIME.

I really ought to FF through Mike/Natalie's scenes, except I can't help but wonder how long they're going to maintain this pretense of being a couple. I don't know if Mike's an aspiring actor also but the fact is neither one of them can act, IMO. How much money is TLC paying these folks? Is Trish getting paid? They wouldn't be able to pay me enough to be on this dumpster of a show.

As a court stenographer who often takes testimony through translation, I can assure you that Natalie would be a nightmare interpreter for me.  She is not fluent enough in English to begin with and her accent is even worse  She might do well enough as an interpreter for a company that employed a lot of Ukranians or a hospital emergency department, but that's about it.  But she would need to live where there is a high concentration of her people to have any kind of real job in it.   But her dreams of wanting to work in film or on TV.....NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.  Way too much competition among young pretty girls with degrees and clean English.

This week's sludge. I was a bit thankful for TV issues that took out some sound and picture.

Angela - you are not charming or endearing or entertaining. You and JoJo were given instructions on what you can eat or drink for week one, week 2, week 3, etc. Before you go home, you will be given your 'diet'. Your current diet may be watermelon or cucumber-infused water or some other protein type drink. Not belly up to the juice bar. Filled with high sugar and high calorie drinks. No shame in using the walking device. A lot of people use them. I would like to know when she actually started to care about herself. Her mother's passing? Her behavior around the doctors is not charming either. You act like an adult and save the wisecracks for a social function. Some may be her way of expressing fear. Does she need a facelift next week? Wouldn't the doctor want to see her off and on for the next 6 months ago to see how she is losing weight and if any work needs to be done? Yeah, it might age her and her turkey gobbler. The cost should be another factor for her. That kind of money can go toward Mykull finally getting to the US or help out her grandchildren. Keep the facelift as an option for down the road. It's probably part of the plastic surgery upsell, but see if Angela sticks to the plan and then talk to her about it.

Brandon and Julia - both of them kinda deserve each other. I would be wondering what Brandon's friend actually wants. Julia does need to work on being jealous of anything and everything. She will have tons of issues with people in all areas of her life if she doesn't not rein it in. Few friends, bad relationships with coworkers, etc. No, sweetie, no one wants Brandon. He's your special catch.

Tiffany and Ronald - yeah, hit up your dad for co-sponsoring your husband. He needs to know everything about what he is getting in to before he agrees to sponsor the dude. Unfair to him to be expected to provide for him for the rest of his life, if need be. First you are thinking about divorce, and then when the visa application news comes in, you flip to another tangent. Make up your mind. It's kinda nice having a husband half a world away. You can do what you want. What will life be like if and when Ronald gets here?

The Family Coven - Andrei, get your own job away from the codependent family. Charlie can't stand you and that is his own business.  Unless the neighbors know Charlie personally, they'd be more likely to call the cops on someone destroying the kitchen than him. I don't get the refrigerator door knocking off unless it is to prevent a child getting in to the fridge and it closes and the child gets killed accidentally. Some cities may have bylaws requiring it. If the fridge is still in working order, it could be sold to someone to use as a second fridge or given to a needy family. Libby, you know that there is going to be conflict with Andrei from all of your family members. Maybe it is just fake drama and a fake storyline. Mike and Natalie and Trish - Happy turkey day! Which one of them will be the biggest of them all? Gobble Gobble. Natalie may not know about farm animals much if she lived in a big city. Maybe also had no relatives on the farm, either. I hope that both Mike and Natalie got gloves to work with the wood. Wasn't paying attention. Trish had plenty of time to go and get the wood herself. Mike should not expect his mom and Natalie to become friends at this time, or really any time. Natalie could have been informed of the visit to the butcher shop and could have declined to go in to the mall. The turkey looked like one from a grocery store.  Natalie is an adult and she also could have waited outside the shop. I'd be looking forward to shrimp and gravy. No, Trish, if your daughter in law is vegetarian, you do have something for her besides salad. Ask what she likes, take her to the grocery store and she can pick out something she'd enjoy. And don't suggest jobs to her. You don't know what her skills are or what she wants to do. There may be a very small market for Ukrainian translators and she may struggle to find any work.

Kalani - I don't remember much about her except for the lawyer visit and she and Low would be on the hook for Asuelu for the rest of his life. That is still odd and should not be grandfathered for anyone currently in the visa system.

I will say that 90 Day Fiance people has the strangest looking lawyers that ever (hopefully) passed the bar, there have been a few that I was so distracted by their appearance that I did not hear what they were saying.

Angela and her face lift, that is not an immediate need, maybe she should find a doc in Atlanta because it would be so much easier for Jojo to wait on her hand and foot.  My cousin had a face lift a few weeks ago, the change is amazing, not pulled tight, just youthful and refreshed, the first few days she was home she had round the clock nurses that adhered to the post op directives to the letter, Angela will need round the clock help because how you heal is how you are going to be, following the post op instructions is key but Angela most likely won't listen to the doc.  

I cannot believe that Tiffany could not find a shiftless, under or unemployed man in Frederick to knock her up. 

Mike and Mommy are so bad I am feeling sorry for Natalie and I hate that. Mommy wants Natalie to act like a housewife, okay but Natalie is not in her own house so what does Mommy want her to do, cook and clean for her?  Actually at the same time Mommy wants Natalie to be a housewife she also wants her to get a job so she does not sponge off of Mike, a job would take time attention from Mike so how will she be the perfect housewife?  Natalie was right about finding a job in Sequim, it will not be easy, transportation alone will be a challenge, does Mike have another car?  After that scene at the butcher shop will Mommy expect Natalie to prepare the turkey just to needle her? I wouldn't put it past her.

No Natalie didn't have gloves for the wood stacking.   Mommy Mullett did though, and I don't care if Mike had any.  Oops, so apparently I didn't look closely enough, and Natalie had thin gloves on.    However, thin gardening gloves will not stop a splinter, they're mostly to keep dirt off your hands, not protective at all usually.  

I'm wondering if there was more time than the show claimed between surgery, and the juice bar scene?   And the doctor visit?    Angela certainly improved a lot from barely moving, to  very mobile, and bruising was definitely less.

He still has the interview to get through. Why would the US approve criminals to come in to the country? I doubt he will ever make it here. Same with Mikull. We still don't know the mystery of why he can't come here. He must have done something really, really bad. At least we know what Ronald did but no talk of what Mikull was up to. It's infuriating.  We need new couples.

Well, I was kicking myself for missing the live chat 4 weeks in a row due to holiday weekends and other conflicts.  This was a pretty snarkworthy episode, although because I watched the preview on Friday, it was pretty repetitive.

I cannot watch this show when it airs, because I want to FF thru the people that bore/annoy me the most.  I find all of them awful, but I can watch some of it.

Brandon/Julia---he looks like his mom, but probably acts more like his awful father.  She needs to work on her English.  The girl that had been friends with Brandon was rude to Julia.  Brandon should have quickly steered the conversation in another direction, but he isn't too bright.  I still think he wants the foreign wife to impress the people who ignored him in school.  Looks like they were headed off to some make-up sex.

Asuelu amd Kalani --so boring this season.   I cannot imagine that such a significant change in immigration law is retroactive. 

Trish, Mike, and Natalie--- Trish is such a buttinsky.  And, no, I am not sure Natalie's English is up to snuff enough to make $$$$$ as a translator.   She's better than Julia and Yara, but I doubt she is up to translating legal documents or acting as an interpreter in judicial settings. From the earlier season, I was under the impression that Natalie wanted a baby, but maybe I picked that up because her mother was portrayed as wanting a grandchild--or did I dream that?  I love Oklahoma, but I would hate to stay with Trish amd Mike.  It is 2 against 1 plus a Thanksgiving dinner she will hate.  I cannot stand Natalie, but I felt sorry for her.

Elizabeth and Andrrrrrei--- another great discussion between Charlie and Andrei.  The sister gives bad advice.  I have no idea what Elizabeth does for "work," but I doubt it is full time.   Maybe she should consider a Mother's morning out program.  I tend to ff thru this couple.

Tiffany and Ronald--another couple that causes me to hit the FF button.  I was shocked that the VISA got approved.  So far I like her dad, but I cannot stand her mother.   I feel sorry for the children, and I hate that Daniel is on the show.   Probably best for everyone for Ronald to stay in SA.  Unless the dad has been living under a rock, he has seen all the episodes and knows all about Ronald. 

Michael and Angela---this whole surgery puzzles me--perhaps because I have seen far too many episodes of My600PL.  I cannot imagine doing breast reduction plus a sleeve at the same time.  I was horrified years ago at all the surgery the people on shows like The Swan had done at the same time so I guess I shouldn't be concerned or shocked that she is considering a face lift, too.  I was surprised her friend left so soon.  At least, she seems to realize that doctors can determine if she hasn't quit smoking.   None of her doctors seem unusually handsome to me, but I guess she really is into flattering men--especially if she thinks it will make them forget she smokes and is probably not the most compliant patient.  And Michael, $25K is not going to get you a child from Angela.

Yes.  Fast Forwarding is the key for this shit show.  Can’t stand Kilani and husband, Tiffany, Brandon, Andrei, Trish and Mike. Now, we have the Twins coming from Connecticut.  Good Lord.
