I was watching the show today with Brittney, the aggressive daughter, who berates her mother and wrestles with hotel security and sees nothing wrong with her actions.   My head started to pound from watching this chick and her dead eyes.  She seems beyond help.  I feel for her parents, that they feel duty bound to take care of their child but if she was my daughter and was violent and unpredictable like that, I'd take her for a ride to another state, hand her a bag of clothes and say 'it was nice knowing you".   Then I'd move.

Yeah, but in tomorrow's episode, coach Mike will be there to straighten her out!  Lol, if there was ever a more useless "helper" on this show, I can't remember them.  This lady needs serious help from the medical community, not some rah rah pep talk from a life coach!

Thanks for the info. Dr. P is just starting where I'm at and I wasn't going to watch because typically, any show Phil has about violent, angry people almost always involves animal abuse. So I don't watch.

I wanted Dr. Phil to pull out one of his old time sayings for the husband: If you have to serve a lifetime sentence I wouldn't serve it here. Adderal Addict was really invested in her delusions. At some point, you have to save yourself and walk away.

Saw Part 2 today.  Last 10 minutes was Robin giving a "year's supply" (6 tubes maybe?) of SPF50 moisterizer/sunscreen to a lady with sun damaged skin along with some packets of face mask.   What she really needed was a qualified dermatologist and plastic surgeon.  Olay makes a wonderful SPF30 product.

"SPF 30 blocks 97% of UVB rays and SPF 50 blocks 98% of UVB rays. So, the difference between 30 and 50 is about 1 percent."

And once again Shill seemed to side with the Psycho.... it is  always the parents fault!! Sorry Shill, some parents are not gifted like you and Plastica!!

Brittany's mother didn't want anything to do with loser Coach Bullshit with his "self" and "anti-self" 5 minute doodles. She was right, there is something very off with that young woman, she needs help. Hopefully she'll stick with the program.

Let’s face it . Coach mike is a quack and everyone knows it . While the mother was talking , I knew it was gonna be a recipe for disaster because she wasn’t buying what doctor Phil and mike were selling and dr Phil does not take to that kindly . I understand why the mother was mad though . Because it takes forever to probably get on this show , she knows her daughter needs help way beyond having a life coach , and she knew coach Mike was there just to promote his book . She was obviously scared for her life and knew her daughter needed psychological help . It must be so frustrating to have real problems and go on this show that is just one large self promotion.

I've never seen this Coach Mike dude before and I five minutes into his babble of pseudo new age words, I wondered how anyone could take his advice.  When he asked Brittney to draw a picture of her two selves, I thought "what kind of bullshit is this?!"   Can he not see that Brittney will not benefit from any of his rah rah crap?   That chick is on the cuckoo express and I don't think words are the remedy.   The mother mentioned Brittney being off her meds several times, but I don't remember hearing what the meds were for - bipolar, schizophrenia, depression, etc.

The mother is stuck in "poor me" mode, but I think I'd be the same if I had to live with that madness 24/7.   It seemed like the parents and Brittney wanted Phil to send her "somewhere" just to get them away from each other - that's why I think the mother kept harping on the 'she's gonna murder me" scenario, hoping it would make them take her seriously and send the daughter to some facility.

**I had to leave before the end of the show; I saw up to the point where the mother was going on about Brittney trying for a job in a salon.  I'm curious what Phil did for these folks.

They didn’t need two episodes for this.  The daughter needs serious psychological  help.  It was obvious from the start.  She is violent.  She cannot focus.  She has major issues.

I felt so bad for the mother when she thought all she was getting was the life coach and a free book.

Phil is all talk but I hope he comes through for this sick woman.

Why anyone cares about what Mike Bayer says... Check out his college- a step above an online school. And he only does celebrity clients? Really? He always seems bored and stoned (though I doubt that’s true). Dr. Phil must be making money off him in some way.... Between him, Dr. Sophy, and Robin... I think Dr. Phil can’t think for himself any more and is trying to be Dr. Judy.

I'm wondering if Dr. Phil is grooming Coach Mike to take over the show. At some point Dr. Phil is going to retire...he isn't as spry as he used to be and he's closing in on 70. He doesn't need the money and could retire in luxury and still be a producer of a spin off with Coach Mike and even make guest appearances. He's already doing the podcasts which he actually seems to enjoy doing whereas most days he looks like he's dragging his ass to the television studio and seems bored. I could definitely see him handing the show over to Coach Mike, producing it and continuing with his podcasts and other sidelight stuff.

I think Phil recently signed on for at least another 3 years. I mean I don't see why he doesn't retire, he certainly doesn't need the money... but my guess is he wants to live Oprah's legacy and be on the air as long. The job is probably a very easy one for him, as the producers seem to pull all the weight and he just has to show up. But if he's not on the air, how will he ever promote his other 55445 businesses?

I think Phil's son's publishing company published Coach Mike's book.  When Coach Mike comes on,  I turn the show off.  He adds nothing at all and is extremely boring.

I've been thinking that maybe he'll end up having Coach Mike on once a week similar to Dr. Phil Tuesdays on Oprah all those years ago.

This was one of the most aggravating episodes I’ve seen in a long time.  This woman is seriously mentally disturbed, delusional and violent.  To even IMPLY that a life coach can do anything with this woman was horrifying.  At least Phil is sending her to the P&P center to see what’s really going on in that crazy brain.

Her poor mother....

Not going to defend coach Mike, but his exercise with Brittany is an example of a Narrative Therapy technique.  It actually can be a useful approach for certain people and certain problems. There is absolutely no way that it would begin to scratch the surface of her problems, but it gave him a chance to promote a concept in his book.

This woman is clearly very mentally unwell and she is going to require intensive psychiatric intervention to improve. I do wonder if she has some sort of brain damage from her injury. TBI can cause some of the problems she has.

Lawd, tuned in to today's repeat of "Assaults and Arrests: Troubled Teen Confronts Her Grandma".  Couldn't take more than 10 minutes, the white trash screaming is like a spike through my head.  If these talk shows want to be viewed as legitimate, taping needs to stop until these people can control themselves or it's done.

I don't care how much trauma this asshole on today's show had. He is a criminal and no time away at a center is going to help that. He should have left the studio in handcuffs. Fuck that guy and "Dr." Phil for shaking his hand and stroking his ego. He will end up killing that girl.

I agree with you but why in the hell does she stay with him? There is no love there, just violence. I  had a hard time believing this wasn’t a put on.

There are complicated reasons why victims stay and return to abusers. Phil  should have been encouraging her to leave that dude-not try to fix him. He plainly said he would kill her and I have no doubt that he will.

Since this show originally aired in 2018 this is yet another instance where a follow-up show would be helpful.  Is she still alive?  Is he on death row?  Inquiring minds want to know!

Surely, you jest.   In the hundreds of people that have been sent to his wonderful "fix it" buddies, I'll wager we've seen no more than a dozen follow ups.   You'd think if all these "resources" are so terrific, he'd be crowing about the successes all the time.

I noticed that his biggest fear was not that he would kill her, but that he would be in prison for murder.  It was all about what would happen to him.  And why in the world was he allowed any contact with his son?

I was rather stunned he wasn't escorted off set in cuffs for just the things he coldly admitted doing to her. Did I blackout before DP sent her off to a top treatment center for long care? He sent HER somewhere. Right??

Yes, they went somewhere separately. I am sure they are living happily after now. (not)

4/2: Let Me Live My Life!

Sarah's dad says she is destroying her life by walking away from a full-ride college scholarship to chase what he calls a "silly daydream" of becoming a professional dancer; sisters say mom Laura is a reckless dater who has been married 10 times.

This episode is a repeat today, but the segment with the woman who's been married ten times is replaced with the Jonas Brothers and a member of the Dr. Phil Advisory Board.

Quote

The Jonas Brothers give their first interview since reuniting on Dr. Phil's Phil in The Blanks podcast. Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas tell all about how the band got back together and some of their latest projects, including an upcoming tour and documentary.

Then, Russell says his brilliant 20-year-old daughter, Sarah Joy, is destroying her life by walking away from a full-ride college scholarship, so she can chase what he calls a “silly daydream” of becoming a professional dancer. But Sarah says she’s a 100% self-made natural talent who will become the next Beyoncé. Lady Gaga’s choreographer, Richy Jackson, puts Sarah Joy through her first audition to see if she has what it takes to become a dance legend.

And, Dr. Phil speaks with Dr. Art Markman, professor, author and member of the Dr. Phil Advisory Board, about his new book, Bring Your Brain To Work (out today), which talks about how to communicate with the people around you at work, and “Imposter Syndrome.”

(edited)

Has The Dr. Phil show become nothing but "big pimpin' for his new Podcast show "phil in the blanks"?

I'll phil in some blanks for you Phil....the Jonas Bros suck. They are nothing but an attractive (somewhat) boy band. Talented...not. However, I will give a bit of credit for the one Jonas Bro who married (sorry I'm going to get her first name wrong) the beautiful Petra Chopra and the other Jonas Bro who landed one of the pretty young ladies from Game of Thrones. Possibly the Jonas Bros have 14 inch personalities?

I started out watching this show about an anorexic woman trying to be a hip hop dancer and I'm only 40 minutes in and I feel like a fell down a hole. Not a rabbit hole.....just a hole of "WTF is this show about?" And who the f is this crusty old dude giving advice about $hit? And the silent woman sitting next to him?

I remember the first showing of the young woman who won the scholarship to any college she wanted to attend and then decided to be a “hip hop” dancer, whatever that actually is. Then we get switched to the Jonas Brothers on “Phil me In” or whatever that show is called, then we get switched to that professor to talk to the young woman who couldn’t decide on a career and then back to hip hop girl. What in the hell is going on with this show?! Do they really expect us to continue to watch this load of crap? The Robin load of crap was insulting enough but this is truly jumping every shark in the TV universe. Bye Phil.

I'm watching him interview this guy who killed his mother with a sledgehammer and set the house on fire.  He's already been examined by three psychologists who declared him fit to stand trial,  so his defense attorney wanted Dr. Phil to give his opinion.  He's doing a bad Slingblade imitation and Dr. Phil is falling for it.

I know, especially when he'd giggle about it.  Was surprised that Dr. Phil wasn't more skeptical about his demeanor being an act.  The brother apparently said his claim about being molested was a complete fabrication.

If he had been a woman Phub probably would have been close to shouting and/or calling him a liar.

Wow....either something is wrong with this website,  or this Shill board has dried up!😨

I don’t have a DVR now, so I rarely watch nowadays. Even when I do catch it, I get bored and turn it off. It’s always a “Beautiful (not) Teen on Downward Spiral” show where Phillip blows smoke up some violent, privileged junkie’s ass, screams at her parents about two sides of a pancake, sends a shout out to Frank Lawless or creepy Dr. Sophie, then spends the last 15 minutes shilling some crap for his wife or kids.

I saw 20 minutes of today’s episode, and it was more of the same.

His stupid homilies are sooo tired.  Yet the audience just guffaws like it's the first time they've heard them.  Is the median age of the live audience, like, 70?

He has shipped dozens of "guests" off to the "ranches" , the "brain centers", the "retreats" on his nickel (for advertising), yet none ever come back on the show all "cured".  Those places are seriously high dollar.

I wonder how much revenue those "cure spots" have racked in on Schills infomercials?

I've posted a few times before...if all these places were the end-all, be-all..why aren't the "cured" trotted out like show ponies for us to see?
