And I must say....what in the hell was RBM wearing today, I screamed at the top of my voice out of fear of losing what is left of my eye sight, she looked so bad and really oinky, and then I look again and there is Miss Liver Lips and her HUGE RED LIPS...and THAT scared my eyelashes right off!  YIPES.  I need four gin and tonics, hey I can do anything, I'm retired! 🍸 Have a boozy weekend gang!

Dear God!  I was looking at my iPad at the start of the show and glanced up to a view of Abby not talking and I swear I thought for a second she was wearing those fake wax red lips we had when I was a kid. (50s/60s). Do they still make those?  Maybe she cornered the market. Ha!

I too caught the cacophony use error.  What a maroon.  🤡

This show is starting to make my ears bleed.  Should have given it up for lent.

I saw the show on a broadway in Feb and I have to agree. Cher is played by 3 different actresses at various stages of her career and none of them really sink into the role, it was a fun night out but really a Vegas tribute show, no depth at all.

I agree atlantaloves about Abby’s lips, I can barely hear her defense of anything MM says because her lips are hypnotic. I was just doing a search to see if she had them blown up but appears not. I feel somewhat bad about something she can’t help but that red just makes them worse.

On a shallow note:

*What is going on with Abby's lips?  She has very full lips, why would she try to make them bigger??  Wax lips is right.

*Is MM gaining a lot of weight?  Is it just her clothes are not flattering?  Both?

I hated the way they (Abby and MM) seemed to defend De Vos.  She has no experience with any kind of education (teaching, administrative work), no contact in any way with public school education, and apparently no compassion for the children she is supposed to be helping/protecting/supporting.  I call bs on MM saying that she admires (I'm not sure if that was the word she used) De Vos for not needing to do anything but still doing public service.   And why did Abby have to apologize?  Was it because she said that De Vos had no heart??

Finally, WHAT??  MM says she does not have the luxury of letting out her feelings on policy/news/opinions and she just relies on facts??  Since when?  All I can recall her doing is shrieking, turning red (with anger, imo), shouting, interrupting, saying, "not me" when someone says "Republicans".

This was so ridiculous today.  NutMeg completely derailed the topic.  They should have gotten into the topic further, but she has to take offense that Ana took a shot at DeVos's wealth.  And I cannot remember what Ana said later, but of course NutMeg took it personally and Ana had to say she wasn't talking about her.  The true NutMeg is fully back.

And I couldn't figure out what Abby was apologizing for, something she said about DeVos having no heart?  Why apologize for that, it is true.

And thank you to The View stylists, for punishing NutMeg with that horribly unflattering outfit, but frankly, that is so fugly, no one could have pulled it off.  It looks like something Nellie Olsen would wear. 😵

I can drink that much during the day, but I would never be able to go back to work, not even after two drinks, and I can HOLD IT. When I go with the retired ladies who lunch like me, we love to tie it on, let me tell you, and we get into the fancy lady cocktails or martinis.  We are hard core day drinking Atlanta gals! (actually we are all transplants, but honey WE DRINK AT LUNCH IN ATLANTA!) Burp. But seriously, they should have treated Joy to her poor pitiful soup, they are all richer than God.

I know she's not keen on history she wasn't alive or old enough to remember well, but she was a whole ass grown woman when the Country was led by a Democrat for 8 years who, back to back, received the highest total votes by any Presidential candidate in the history of US elections, lol.

All I could think of when I looked at Abby's lips was that she looked like a sock monkey (Google it if you don't know what I mean).  Yikes!

And MM's outfits lately - yes she is overweight and whoever is styling her is not doing a very good job, or maybe they want her to look terrible.  Too many ruffles, prints and high necklines. Tight skirts that look like she was poured into them. She would look better wearing something similar to what Abby was wearing, a simple tank under a jacket.  The ruffles and flourishes do MM no favors, she needs to wear classic designs.

If they were all drinking the same wine, then I bottle would be a few bucks cheaper. And you’d be wrong to think a bottle of wine in NYC couldn’t be $160. Cokes can be $8. 

And as far as the middle of the day...they’re done with work, it’s their 5:00. 

And when me and the three besties go out, we do an even four way split. The check comes, we give the server all four cards, them him/ her to divide it by four. We each get our own receipt to sign with our own tip line. We each leave 20% of our share. Easy squeezy.

No, never.  In the situation they described on the show, either Sunny or Ana should have sprung for the bill, or they should have split it between the two of them. They should never have done a three way split.

Betsy Devos - From the great state of Michigan and the person who gave us charter schools.  Charter schools suck and because they only go up to 8th grade all the public high schools need to have remedial classes in math and reading.  The charter schools mis-educate them and then dump them on the public schools.  They used to claim to be "As good as public schools" now they just claim to be "Character builders".

MM and her tirade of Devos/wealth.  She is a bit raw there, no?  Just got the beat down on legacy and its institutional bias and now this.

I have told you all that my brother is a contract electrician in Detroit, he builds high rises and does refurbishing of antiquated buildings etc, he and his crew eat lunch and watch The View.  He has been texting me to take a nickel bet that MM is pregnant.  I missed the drinking story.  So she didn't drink?  Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

If I were Joy, I would have asked for a separate bill for my soup.  Then the server would ask the winos if they wanted one bill or two. They can split it any way you want (and often get bigger tips that way).

I’m only getting more confused are you saying you all pay equal no matter what you ate or drank?  If not are you saying the server knows which card had the lobster and which had only a side salad?  It is on one ticket to start no?   Wouldn’t it be easier on server to tell them to start you want separate  tickets, so they write it up separate to start ( I’ve heard they HATE separate tickets )  I’ve never asked for separate because I’m thinking food wouldn’t come out together. Obviously I’ve never been a server therefore tip generously. 

  I’ve gotten to where I feel taken advantage of because my best friends have spilt in half ( they’re married) when it should be 1/3. That’s if they reach for ticket at all.  Now I bring cash and say how much do  I owe ( trying to emphasize you know the meal that didn’t have a shrimp salad ,an appetizer ,a cocktail and lobster ravioli) .  Even though Joy can afford it where I can’t , but it sounds like it happens often. My brain shut down because my son was just trying to explain my taxes. 

I thought MM’s stomach looked pregnant on her walk out today too.

I’m a newbie here, so forgive me if it’s been mentioned, but what is with Abby’s dirty sneakers she wears (mostly) on Fridays? I can’t help but notice them when she walks out because they’re soooo dirty. It’s like they’re her “subway/commuting shoes”, but wardrobe doesn’t have any dressy/casual shoes in her size, so she has to go on set wearing her dirty white sneakers.

That said, I’ve also lost track of how many times she’s had lipstick on her front teeth during the first segment. She must’ve pissed everyone off in the wardrobe, hair and makeup departments. That’s a rare gift!

I almost vomited when MM paraphrased Mrs. Obama and said she “goes high” when dealing with the GOP assholes. She knows damn well where THAT specific phrase came from.  Not acknowledging Mrs. Obama’s original words really pissed me off. (I know she’d never give credit to anyone, especially a Democrat, but it still pissed me off.)

Back in the days of checkpads with carbon paper separate checks were a pain in the ass (trust me, I know), but always worth it, more tip money with separate checks.  But with today's computerization separate checks are no big deal, it doesn't affect the timing of the food.  Customers pay for what they ordered, server usually cleans up, win-win!

Interesting, it wasn't until the DeVos discussion that I realized that The View is missing a regular ol' middle-class voice at the table.

• The Daughters were raised in wealth with the privilege and fame that goes along with it.
• Joy was raised in a blue-collar family.
• Ana was an immigrant whose family really pursued the American Dream.
• Sunny and Whoopi were both raised in the projects, and worked hard to get where they are now.

They need someone with the upbringing of Debbie Matenopoulos or Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Someone who went to good public schools, someone who didn't have a Porsche in the driveway (maybe a Ford, but Dad aspired to have an Audi), someone that I imagine most of us can identify with. Right now, it's not there.

Yeah, I've heard her make those kinds of comments more than once. I guess it's her way of trying to convince everyone (and herself) that she doesn't care about her weight gain. The problem is, she never looks comfortable and most days looks like a ten pound sausage stuffed in a five pound casing. I know it's been said before, but those tight skirts and high necked blouses do not flatter her at all.  I have to think that's how she wants to dress because I can't believe the wardrobe department would purposely make her look so bad. 

Oh, and I would be very surprised if she was pregnant, given her past comments about having kids. That seems to be the last thing on her agenda.

So I saw the Devos topic...Ana was not slamming Devos gor having money..she was questioning why Devos would stay in the position after the way trump has thrown her under the bus...saying that DeVos has the money..why subject oneself to this treatment...and it went over Meghan's head.

And I liked no Sunny or Whoopi on Friday..if Meghan were also absent...it would have been heaven.

And I've wondered why it's ok to shame people with money when it isn't ok to shame those without?  Shaming anyone is wrong no matter if they're born wealthy or not.

Lastly, I agree with wanting a middle class panelist on the show.  Debi M was a recent college grad with student loans....I would be open to having a 20 something on the panel trying to apply her college education with the real world.  It would be refreshing.  Who knew I would miss the Debi M and Lisa Ling eras so much.  One was fun and goofy...the other was deep and informed.

And I love how Meghan picks/chooses which parts of history to recall and screech about.  She's too young to remember anything about Anita Hill ("I was in elementary school!"), yet she HATES the French because "they didn't support us in World War Two," which ended forty years before she was born.  I don't even know why she hates the British.

And poor Abby...poor, poor sweet* Abby.  She and her advisors are all too dumb to know she and they have put her in a position of ridicule.

She has said she doesn't know if she ever wants kids, and other times she has said that she doesn't see herself with kids.   But, to me, saying those things, at her age, means she is still figuring out, still toying with the idea of having a child "someday."  she hasn't been adamant about NEVER wanting kids.  I think the number of times she has brought it up might hint that the decision whether or not to have a child has been on her mind.  

And  her age - mid 30's, means that "someday" is soon.  She hasn't been saying those things recently, that I have heard, but granted, I don't watch every show.  SO maybe she's made her decision?  she does seem to have gained some weight, but mostly in her chest, which is why I speculated

I know I'm late but...

RE: Eating out and splitting the check.  Whenever I go out with friends, we look at the check and find what we ordered, total only what each person ordered, add tax and tip.  Put the money together and hand to the waiter/waitress and say, "No change back."  The only time we split the check evenly is when all our food was roughly the same price (eg. $21, $23, $24).  No one has ever suggested to just split the check among the three or four of us.  I would find that kind of strange.  So for someone that ordered only a $10 salad to have to pay $30-$40 of a bill of over $100 is wrong to me.  

So, JOY, next time just say, "Here's my money for my soup. Tax and tip included."
