  1. I laughed today when Bennet was making a point and brought up that he and John McCain had drafted a Bill and Meghan cuts in and says “thank you” 🤣 Did she really think he was only mentioning John for her benefit? I guess she did. And then having sat silently scowling at him she now tells him he’s winning her over. It’s unusual for a female child to be so identified with the father and his achievements but I think it would do Meghan the world of good to get out of politics and go do something else with her life and achieve something in her own right. Hint, hint! If she wasn’t so darn rude and bratty I’d feel sorry for her.
  2. I was actually at Wimbledon during my trip to Europe. Only Centre Court has a royal box, there are 18 courts. Kate was watching a British player on an outdoor court where there is no reserved seating and no royal box. Meghan was there on centre early in the tournament watching a women’s match. The royal box is usually half empty, even for Roger Federer's match on Wednesday it was deserted. It is at its fullest on middle Saturday when lots of sports celebrities are invited and for the finals although as soon as the singles final is over it clears out and is mostly empty during the doubles final. Meghan would have had more trouble trying to fill the seats for an early round women’s match! Finally, the royal box entrance is of course private and not accessible to the public but the box is surrounded by public seating and they do not require any security clearance for those sitting behind/to the side. I mention that because it does bother me how people will use any little thing and turn it against Meghan M. I don’t follow the British royal family and as a proud Irishwoman I have little time for them. I do however find the treatment of Meghan by the press and the public appalling. Imo a lot of it is misogyny. As usual her husband who is a very non traditional royal is rarely mentioned, he’s well liked and thought of as a cool dude or even an innocent who was snared by this evil social climber. If you have a problem with Meghan being non traditional, being American, being an actress etc etc then I assume you also have a problem with her husband. I use general you here not anyone on this forum, the general you who has something bad to say about Meghan’s every move. Maybe I’m old and jaded but I’m sick and tired of women being bombarded with hatred and men getting a free pass. The press and the 24/7 obsessive coverage killed Lady Di but I guess the world has learned nothing from that. The Brits are also very liberal people who could care less about “tradition” in general. They are not at all the stuffy traditionalists that many Americans imagine them to be. Heres a pic I took during Sir Andy Murray’s match, even he didn’t fill the box.
  3. “My in-laws are evangelicals” WHY does she take everything personally 😴
  4. I was away for a few days visiting family in Europe and just catching up. Ugh that comment from Meghan about shooting guns and drinking = marriage counselling really annoyed me. That’s too real to be funny imo. During my time in generally safe Ireland there were 2 women murdered by their husband/partner. It’s a worldwide scourge and to suggest that shooting and getting drunk is a way to solve problems is dangerous and irresponsible imo. There’s no shame in marriage counselling or any type of therapy but I guess Meghan was keeping up the conservative viewpoint that it’s for weak soy boys. And yeah as some of you said already let’s hear from her when she’s living full time with her husband for several years (and doesn’t have the benefit of independent wealth).
  5. I don’t love my country more than anything else and don’t know anyone else who does. You can bet if ever my safety was in jeopardy in this country I would be taking my family and moving. There’s patriotism and then there’s ridiculousness. People with Meghan’s level of “patriotism” scare me actually.
  6. When Joy said “I’m older than you” and Meghan started popping her neck, talking in upspeak and saying she wanted us all to know she doesn’t care about age 🙄🙄🙄🙄Is there anything Joy can say that won’t get her going?
  7. I just turned off when it turned out she was attacking the wrong lady. And it took me a minute to figure it because she wasn’t as apologetic as you would expect (no surprise I guess). I can’t do this today and I knew she would go on and make it all about John McCain yet again.
  8. Meghan has said on the show that her husband is a libertarian and they both voted for third party candidates. Who knows but that’s what she claimed anyway. I assume she won’t vote for a Dem so will go third party or do a write in again in 2020.
  9. Wasn’t The View named the most important political show or something to that effect? I remember them showing the magazine cover and Meghan stepping in to take credit for the win. Lol. Anyway, it just got me thinking how can you have a show where the first segment is the hosts calling each other bitches and then the presidential candidate or a senator comes out to have a serious interview on policy. I’m no prude, I could make a sailor blush but it lowers the tone of the show and cheapens it. Men wouldn’t get away with that either, calling each other aholes and bastards and then skiing a candidate how we can all work together and restore civility and compassion. Lol it’s absurd. It’s hard to take the moral high road with an interviewee too if they’ve just watched you call your coworker a bitch on live tv. It’s only a matter of time before a guest takes the liberty to fling it back and then whoopi might as well throw on a black polo and stand to the side like Steve Wilkos with a whistle and a spray bottle.
  10. I think The View as a workplace is very toxic. We only know the tip of the iceberg. Sunny wasn’t having it today and I admire her for that. Whoopi usually cuts her off but she tries to be reasoned and make good points on every topic. I don’t believe she wants to be working on a Jerry Springer-esque sling fest. I’d like to think if I worked there I’d take the high ground and walk out but who knows. I’ve been in toxic workplaces before and stayed because I had rent to pay. Also, if the producers and bosses are enabling and encouraging a toxic workplace I might stick it out from stubbornness. I’d figure if I leave they’ll replace me swiftly and the problem people will carry on as is bottom line the culture at the show is a mess from top to bottom and they need to clean house if they want to retain what’s left of their reputation. If they want their reputation to be bitch fights and shouting matches and a classless tone then they’re going in the right direction. Im sure some day there will be a big tell all but you couldn’t pay me to work over there and I feel sorry for the good people who are stuck there. Yes, yes they can leave but NYC is expensive and a job at ABC is not something that’s easy to walk from so I understand staffers staying and then passive aggressively leaking bits to the tabloids.
  11. Loved Joy’s cemetery story. We did that too 😆 We brought a picnic and actually my grandparents went to the cemetery every single day but in summer we would go on Sunday afternoons to bring flowers and then we’d have to go everyday after school during November but too cold for a picnic. I hadn’t thought of that on a long time, brought back some memories to me. We’re Irish though so the sandwiches were ham not veal! We were taken to every wake in the area too. You’d sit beside the body and have a cup of tea and a sandwich for be “respectful”. No wonder I have a dark sense of humor. i never knew Sunny’s dad was so accomplished, I always figured her folks were very blue collar because of her stories about growing up in the projects. I’m going to have to read up about her childhood when I get home.
  12. when Meghan said Bethany was having a grief panic attack and she could understand was she suggesting some of her outbursts on The View were grief? I hadn’t thought of that but it makes sense that she could be using her grief to get a free pass for bad behavior and who would dare risk the fallout from reprimanding someone who is a grieving widow, sorry daughter! I did like her makeup today and the hair was much, much better than the childish braids. I think her saying she only socializes with Republicans is another falsehood like sitting there mute when they were discussing spouses who live apart and pretending she’s too poor to do such a thing. No way are her many, many gay friends Republicans. Unless of course, she doesn’t really consider them friends and doesn’t socialize with them anymore.
  13. That’s was my experience ! I shared it on another forum and someone copied it here and that’s how I found this forum 😆 No it wasn’t a forum for The View audience members unfortunately, I only wish such a thing existed.
  14. Wow I only saw about 5 minutes before I had to leave but Meghan was so mean to Ana. Ana was explaining why Joe changed his opinion and Meghan snapped that she already knew why (I didn’t and wanted to hear Ana) and when Ana said the audience would like to know, Meghan scoffed and said we just saw the clip. Ana just ignored her and went on to make her point. Then Meghan said “Can I say something” at the end of the abortion segment when we all know her opinion and she did a little monologue earlier and nobody interrupted. Yikes. I wonder how the commercial was, did she storm into the wings?
  15. Btw, how rude was it when Joy said we do agree on some things and Meghan shot back “we agree on nothing” and looked horrified at the idea. Gosh, I hate when people go that deep down the rabbit hole that they can’t find any shared humanity with the “other side”. Off the top of my head, LGBT rights is an area where she is in agreement with Joy. Also some women’s issues. And she had the nerve to say she liked Biden because he was willing to work with Republicans when she can’t even admit she and Joy could have one value in common! You couldn’t make it up sometimes. Also, when Joy said she had the same curriculum at Queens college as Meghan had at Columbia, does anyone else think that a little subtle shading? I mean she had just said Joy was the most radical leftist she ever knew and claimed to be from a deep red state and an outsider in NYC. I think Joy brought up Columbia to let the audience know that Meghan quickly got out of her red state, was educated in Columbia and was not a newcomer to liberal idea, to the city or to living in a blue state. It was a more subtle and polite way of letting her know that no way were her art history Columbia professors right wingers that made Joy seem like a scary radical.
