S07.E11: Jeanne's Story LIVE CHAT

Reminder: Please do not discuss politics via topic of disability/Medicare & "stealing from the public". Only address issues related to people on the show, not everyone in a given group.  Let's veer away from assumptions that head us down that slope.

Wow, didn't know that uncleanliness and these random sores are contagious.  Mom caught the vapers.

Perhaps, we can develop a vaccine that will protect us from what I will call 'trifling asses".   Stock being sold for it...right now!

Oh Hey a fellow Michigan fan 🙂

Just how did the mom get to such a bad state?  was she always just taking care of her blob of a daughter instead of trying to heal?

She wasn't even bathing herself. I think there's serious psychological problems there.

My grandpa had to have surgery to remove scar tissue from his gut a few years ago.  It's a pretty tough surgery to recover from.

My dad died last April from something similar.  It is was blessing because of other issues and he never knew what happened.

Wow, all that AND skin removal, Dr Now? I wonder if that was the best idea.

I gathered it was unhealthy tissue that had to be removed to get the scar tissue and hernia out fully and able to fully close it. Remember, it had basically opened into a pretty large wound.

The mother had surgery on her perforated colon over a year ago, and there is an infection, and it was so bad that she was in danger of having her scar/suture line rupture.    She has a hernia, and the skin graft didn't take.     I suspect that her poor hygiene, and not going to the doctor caused it to get much worse.

Do I get a prize for suggesting Adult Protective Services a long time ago?

Don't forget to grab your gasoline soaked drawers on the way out.

I always wear them to watch this show. Saves time and energy

Why do they keep showing Jeanne jiggling her leg and foot? Is that going to be significant later?

Same thought. Wonder if it's the same leg the wound is on?

Yup.  This family would need a truckful of psychiatric help and I'm still not sure that would make any difference.  I'm about ready to give up on Jeanne who is not only physically but psychologically nasty.

I went to get my own piece of candy instead of sitting like a blob.  I only have a broken wrist, not a broken leg or a broken mind.  Why doesn't she ever get anything for herself but always wants Mom or Dad to bring everything to her?

Yes. I bet they never get walked. Poor babies.

Oh no, don't you remember her saying in the scene where she says they have nine dogs and walking them would be great exercise and then later saying she was too tired to walk them? Hose Beast.

Did she get her surgery at Dollar General Surgery Center?

The original surgery might have been fine, but if you never ever take a shower, healing will not go well for you.

I just simply cannot with this woman. "Wah! I'm in pain!" Just one excuse after another.

Right? If you were in so much pain that it legitimately impeded your following the plan, why did you not call and mention it to the doctor before now?!?!

I thought wearing pajamas in public was a late 90s trend?

I won’t say exactly where I work but let’s say it’s a place that provides assistance of some kind and I can safely say, based on our clients, that this trend is alive and well.

I love Dr. Now but shouldn’t Mom have some kind of GI specialist doing this surgery?

I have a GI, but a vascular surgeon did my bowel surgeries. Having said that, my GI said next time that we’d go with a colorectal surgeon next time. Given the severity of the mom’s condition, I’m surprised there was a more specialized surgeon in there. But then again, he wasn’t doing surgery on the bowel itself, merely the tissues around it.

I'm sorry to hear that.

her resting bitch face is uber-bitchy.  She is even less likeable than Maja.   And provides less entertainment value.

I know this is weird, but her mouth bothers me so much.  It's like she's holding it tight all the time.

Uh-oh...maybe Larry's going to be the unexpected death.

I think Jeanne and her mom have better than average vocabularies. I don't think they are particularly dim-witted but there's something really off. I mean, not even doing good basic personal hygiene.

Oh no. Maybe it's dad who dies?
