The Ark is not cheap.  I think tickets are like $75 for adults!  They had to have filmed or something, no way JimBoob would pay that much.

I'm amazed that at those prices, that the Ark stays afloat.  Are there really that many people who want shell out the money &  go there?

I bet they give big discounts to large groups, which would encourage churches to organize large crowds to descend upon the place.

I'm wondering if many "main stream" Christians are interested in visiting the Ark.  It seems to be geared more towards fundys.  I guess the mega churches might fill up a bus & go there for a discounted rate.

My parents in no way shape or form believe what the Ark is preaching, but they wanted to go, so my sister gave them tickets for Christmas.  I'd like to go just so I can roll my eyes so hard they fall out of my head.

It's sad that admission is expensive, because it's deliciously snark worthy. We have a goal to visit all 50 states with our 10 year old daughter. It would have been nice to look at the foolishness, along with fundie wear. We would be defrauding all fundies.

It's also likely we would be escorted out and banned for life. My husband is a science guy, and began early ed with our daughter. When I informed her of the theory of men alongside dinosaurs, she thought I was joking. When I told her nope, it's taught to kids, and lots of college educated people believe, she laughed her gluteus off.

So anything else to do in Kentucky?

How long can you walk around and look at animals in an Ark?

But...but...DINOS!!!!! (Saw them when the Bateses' show took a tour through the place that UP filmed.) We all know that humans and dinos roamed the earth simultaneously!!!!!11

Looks like a few non Duggars there including Kendra. MIA, Josh, Anna, Jessa and crew? Hard for me to see the picture is small.

Embarrassed to admit, but if you took away the pasta I wouldn't mind eating that.

I'd probably eat it pasta and all...But I do have a pretty well-rounded diet in general. It keeps me pretty well-rounded as well, I'll admit, but that's only because I like so many different things that sometimes it's hard to choose...

Skyline is good stuff, but, I grew up eating it. It's cinnamon and cocoa in the chili that makes it taste different. I prefer the coney over the pasta though. I didn't know they were all coming here. Wonder where they are staying?

I grew up on the stuff too, and we can get it in Virginia at Harris Teeter.  My husband is a converted fan and coneys are one of our treats!

My WW cookbook has a yummy Cincinnati Chili recipe, the first I'd ever heard of it!

On free Jinger, someone said the entire Duggar family went to her church in Cincinnati.  She commented that the children were so well behaved.

1) ugh. Hate that jing and jer broke the six month deal and are ALREADY vacationing with the duggs so soon after the honeymoon.

2) chili seems awfully foreign and wild!  Surprised they'd have enthusiasm for any kind of "ethnic" food. Or maybe it's ok bc it's from Cincinnati.

My understanding was that they'd have no houseguests for 6 months, not that they wouldn't see them.

In my opinion Cincinnati chili is the Bland White People version of chili. Nothing Tex mex about it. Nothing wrong with it, but it is about as "ethnic" as a bologna sandwich with mayo and ice burg lettuce on wonder bread. So wait, you're right, that's very "ethnic" and "exotic" to the Duggars.

It's seared in my mind how wild and crazy minute rice and broccoli are to this bunch, let alone Jinger being amazed by rigatoni.

Skip the Ark. Hit up Mammoth Cave instead. Amazing.  So glad I made it there ehile I was still mobile.

Whenever Jill keeps mentioning gifting banana bread it makes me think of that banana bread scene from The Simpsons where Marge attempts to gift Apu and his wife banana bread while they are dealing with 8 babies to care for, lol.  Cause banana bread solves everything dontchya know?

Israel and I (Jill) make this bread about once a week and send with Derick on home visits or share with friends we invite into our home for Bible study fellowship.

Why does she need to clarify who "I" is?  Are any of us confused as to whom she is referring?

Thank you for the suggestion @latetotheparty, we think our daughter will love it there.  We took her to the Carlsbad Caverns last year. The elevator was out of order, and she was in such wondrous amazement, the she did not complain once about the hike up. BTW, she is the laziest kid ever, that was something else for her.

Maybe Marcus was busy with his side gig as as a human shield.

At first I thought Jill was making loaves of bread to distribute.  Not so.  All she is doing is making and distributing 20 little, snack-size pieces.  Is that really the best you can do, Jill?  Never mind.  I know the answer.

Big whoop. I make banana bread weekly. I bring it to potlucks, feed it to my kids for breakfast, and give to whoever needs it. And I don't blog about it or promote it as a ministry or need to go to danger America to do it.

I think it's probably the only thing she's learned to bake. Plus, it's cheap, most people like it, and it's an American dish that few people in DA are familiar with, so she gets extra brownie points for the novelty aspect.

She looks so proud of herself. Kind of the same expression our dogs make when they take a great big poo.

If I could make a great big poo right now, I'd be smiling too!

Your dogs are leaps and bounds ahead of Jilly Muffin in intelligence. So much so, that it's hardly a compliment given who they're being compared to.

Thanks. Maybe it's because instead of homefooling, we actually took them to obedience school. So they're better educated than Jill, too.

You know, it's eminently possible that growing up in the puppy pile, Jill has never even considered the prospect you can serve people larger than a stingy 1 x 1-inch square of banana bread.  How many people does Derrick visit??  I feel like the same people could be served big-boy and -girl pieces with six poundcake-sized loaves.

Very sad, but good observation.

Wow, I'm impressed she has her hair in a braid while baking.

I wish it wasn't over her shoulder near the food, but baby step. Baby steps.

I doubt she actually put it in a braid specifically for baking. It was probably in a braid already.

Drink bourbon.  I suggest bourbon distillery tour THEN the ark.  Be sure to sample a lot at the distillery.  I have very impure motives for wanting to go to the ark but there is NO WAY my headship would approve since its spendy.  I need to take my equally hell-bound cousin with me.

I can't find the thread(s) where we've discussed this in the past , so I'll put it here and hope it's appropriate. We've talked before about the awkward fundie wedding photos where the newlyweds and both sets of parents pose kissing. So...yesterday my son and his longtime GF tied the knot, and during the photo shoot, the photographer sprang a dreaded Intergenerational Smooch Shot on us! When she was shooting the B & G with both sets of parents, she unexpectedly chirped, "Everyone kiss!" What could we do? My husband and I gave each other "Oh shit!" expressions and then obediently locked lips. Fortunately, this came up in conversation later at the reception, and the MOB said, "Yeah, that one's not going on social media," to which the FOG and I replied, "THANK YOU!" Ugh, is this becoming a thing everywhere? Who actually thinks this is a good idea?

Thank you! We couldn't be happier about the nuptials.  Once we get access to the professional pics, maaaaybe I'll post the smooch shot here . . . if I'm feeling brave. I'm sure it will be awkward AF.  Hee hee!

Michelle just posted a picture of the family that she says was taken in 2003.  But, there are 16 kids pictured and #15 was born in 2004 and #16 was born in 2005.  Could it be that Michelle has too many kids to count and just lost track of time?

Yeah, Boob is holding Hannie. There had been no girls since Joy, and Joy is clearly sitting in the tree on the right side. Jeez, Mechelle, count your kids and figure out the correct year for crying out loud! This was probably taken around the time they moved into the TTH, March 2006.
