I always thought Christie and Carson were lured to be surrogates by Trump promising to pay off their debts from their failed GOP candidacies.... until I realized what a cheap bastard Trump is.  There must be something he's hanging over their heads.

What's hanging over their heads; positions in the "mythical Trump administration" (™ @MulletorHater):

Christie = AG
Carson = Surgeon General
Guiliani = DHS

Huffington Post had a lead story about this earlier this afternoon.  I noticed that Christie was noticeably quieter and figured it had a lot to do with his ongoing legal problems in the state he's desperately trying to get away from.

Given Trump and Christie's history, I'm astounded that Christie was so willing and desperate to gamble on the person who bankrupted his own Atlantic City casinos and still walked away with money in his pocket.  Not only that, he got a huge tax abatement from Christie which pissed off his constituents to the highest of pissivity.  Christie should be forced to pay back every dime in salary he received from New Jersey's taxpayers while he foolishly ran for president, prostituted himself for an AG spot in the mythical Trump administration, and worked as one of Trump's loudest surrogates.

I'm from the area and I really believe  Christie doesn't care about Atlantic City. I can't wait until he's not my governor anymore. The only good thing about him running was he wasn't in NJ. The stronger than the storm video  was such bullshit.

God I hope not. That won't help Hillary with her approval numbers. Chelsea is even more unlikable than her mother and less articulate. Seriously, the Clintons need to stop trying make Chelsea happen.

James Carville and he is horrendous.

Chelsea sucked as a correspondent for NBC, and for that she made $600,000 per year. For that amount of money, NBC could have divided it up 10 ways and could have actually hired fledgling or more seasoned journalists, writers, on-air talent with the experience, skills and education to do the job properly.

I know it's hard to pick with all of the terrible Trump surrogates but this guy Jason Miller that is on MTP tonight is really terrible--he comes off as if he is both clueless and not credible at ALL.   Maybe he has some value to the campaign but they should not put him in front of the camera.    This is the second time I've seen Chuck pick him to pieces.

I'm confused.  Because Drumpf once said, "I'm going to surround myself only with the best and most serious people."

Why is it so difficult for him to do just that?  You know, hiring people who (a) are articulate, (b) don't have padded resumes, (c) don't have ties to foreign despots, (d) don't grab the arms of reporters, (e) are actually skilled at "African American outreach," (f) don't settle lawsuits where they are accused of harassing female employees, (g) aren't anti-Semites, (h) aren't accused of domestic abuse, (i) aren't trying to distance themselves from the campaign, (j) or who aren't serial adulterers.

The best and most serious people don't want to have anything to do with him.   Heck, the middling less serious people don't want to have anything to do with him.  When you're deplorable, all you get is more deplorables.

I don't have cable, so I'm streaming the debate from CBS News' Apple TV app.  They are currently interviewing Jan Brewer, former AZ Governor, who had a really impressive side-stepping of a question about "rigged" elections.

Can someone throw a bucket of water on her?

Watching CNN after debate coverage.  Trumps refusal to accept the results is what they have been discussing since the debate ended.   Some of the CNN contributors are DONE, just DONE even trying to accept Trump.  Jeffrey Lord and Kayleigh trying to spin, but it is just not working.  Those two of course think Trump won the debate.

That clown Hugh Hewitt was on MSNBC, and said Trump won 14 out of 15 rounds, but hit himself in the head and knocked himself out with the comment about not accepting the election results, and I'm wondering what debate he watched, because I didn't see Trump win 14 rounds.

The Crypt Keeper and Ghouliani are talking to Chris Matthews about the whole accepting the election.

This might be the first time Ghouliani is near sane since this election began.

The Crypt Keeper of course thinks Trump will accept the results because he will win.  Right.

Jeffrey Lord is the worst!  He's so smug!  And Kayleigh is just annoying!  Gloria Borger was trying to stay calm but I think she was ready to just throw up her hands at the absurdity of Lord's remarks.

Barbara Res, the engineer in charge of the construction of Trump Tower, wrote HER book in 2013 and had an interesting story about how appearances are what matters most with Trump... but also that his temper is often mercurial and unfair:

I'd like any remaining Trump supporters to read these accounts and take note about what they really say about his leadership... and look at when these books were written (long before the election).

Barbara Res appeared with Brooke Baldwin last week and gave her opinion that she believes all the allegations against Trump.   She related incidents where Trump would stop business meetings to comment on how much women desired him.  She said she was in a meeting with Trump and a very prestigious architect when Trump suddenly went off on a sexual tangent.  She said she and the architect just looked at each other in discomfort.

Res said that Trump changed in the time she knew him, that he wasn't always that way but as years went by he became more enraptured with himself and his own perceived desirability.

The segment with Res was brief but it was powerful because here was a woman appointed by Trump to build Trump Tower, someone you might think would have reason to be supportive of Trump publicly, but she didn't hesitate to portray him as a power-mad lech.

I saw that and thought, well, CNN is going to be showing this interview all day long, but you know what?   They didn't.   It came and went and if you didn't happen to catch it during the original broadcast as I did, it may as well have never happened.   I can't imagine why CNN quashed it.    It strongly supported the stories of Trump's accusers.

I think Andre Brower (sp?) could give him a run for his money.  He's the thin guy with the chin and the Mayberry haircut.  The other day he was on CNN crowing about Trump's respect for women and how all the allegations were false.   A female panelist challenged him and he said, "Now waitaminnit, darlin ..."  She goes: "I can't believe you just called me 'darlin' at two o'clock in the afternoon."   And he says, "That's just how a Southern gentleman talks ..."

Worst, though, is Scottie Nell Hughes.

You're right.   Katrina is despicable.

I just saw another shrill crackpot defending Trump's refusal to accept the election result: Rep. Renee Ellmers.   What a piece of work.   Additionally claimed Hillary shouldn't have taken 5 days to prepare for the debate because she's a woman and no other women can take time off due to having to work and take care of children.

Were people like Ellmers always crazy or did they slip into insanity after kissing Trump's buttocks?

I had to change the channel the moment I saw these two on my screen.  I simply can't go to bed and those two are the last things I see before closing my eyes.  Shudders!

And, why is Uday Trump claiming that the presidency would be a "step down" for his father?  Really?  Then, why in the bloody fuck is he running then?  Daddy is learning as he goes, claims the younger sociopath, because he's a real American.  What does that even mean?  Oh, and Daddy wants us to have the same opportunities he had.  But, how many of us have parents who will lend us $1 million and then give us a multi-million-dollar bailout when we fuck up our money?

It's a variation of Governor Romney's theme when he lost the election in 2012, "I didn't want it anyway."  Evidently, some people never grow past the 3rd grade level.  So, the prize you fought so hard for and felt you were entitled to has to be diminished because it was denied to you and the other guy whom you consider beneath you now has it.

Whatever.  Don't worry, Junior.  The American people heard you loud and clear.  We wouldn't dream of demoting your father to a position that is clearly so beneath him!

Betsy McCaughey Hijacks CNN Segment With Laughable Proof Of Massive Voter Fraud

This is driving me crazy -  how stupid is she?   If I die before the election, then I am a dead person who is still registered to vote.   That does not constitute VOTER FRAUD .   If I move to Texas and register to vote there, and I am then registered in two states -  That is not voter fraud.   It's only VOTER FRAUD when someone pretends they are me and tries to vote in my place.  Or if I vote in one state, then travel to the other state and vote again.

Yeah, I'm sure millions of people are swarming the airports on election day to vote in as many states as possible.   After, of course, we all spent the last 6 months renting multiple apartments so that we can get fake voter registrations in all those states.  this election stuff is exhausting -  but look at the frequent flyer miles!

Every time I even think of feeling the slightest bit sorry for Kellyanne Conway all I have to do is listen to her speaking. Not only is her spin on Trump usually so dumb and/or offensive but her voice and the way she speaks just drives me up the wall. She sounds like such an airhead. This morning I read a link and saw a clip of her on CNN where she was debating with CNN's Chris Cuomo about Trump saying he can't commit to conceding the election if he loses. First of all, I wanted to reach through the screen and smack her when she made the unnecessary (and ridiculous comment) that of the two people on stage last night it was Hillary doing the whining but, worst, was she kept trying to compare it to the 2000 election and Al Gore's challenging the Florida count. She ridiculously tried to come up with this analogy that if they asked Al Gore about conceding the election after he won the popular vote and the Florida count was so close that he would have probably said the same thing Trump is saying now. Cuomo fabulously pointed out that the situations weren't the same in the slightest since Trump is whining already before most votes have even been cast.

Re the current Mrs. Trump: The thing we need to keep in mind here is that ever since she got married she likely has been compared to Ivana ( the heir appearant's mother) as well as Marla Maples ( the trophy wife from the US). Therefore, I think it's quite likely that the title of First Lady is something she'd want badly enough that would definitely (at least in her mind) would overshadow the first two Mrs. Trumps forever after. Hence; IMO nothing anyone says or anything that candidate does will make any difference to her as long as she can get that title. Now, how long the union will last if the election doesn't go his way is anyone's guess.

Someone in another topic mentioned Billy Baldwin being asked about his brother Alec's Trump impression and an interview they saw about that. It occurred to me that's really the wrong Baldwin to be asking... that STEPHEN'S answer would be far more illuminating/interesting/tragic/funny. Stephen is the bible thumping right winger, after all.

So I found it. Stephen's impression of... the impression.

EDIT - Okay, it just occurred to me that maybe this other poster simply confused Stephen and Billy (thought Stephen was Billy I mean). Not hard to do. Alec is the one who looks a bit different, but the other Baldwins are easy to confuse with each other.

Melania's biggest protection is probably Barron Trump. Donald, as much as he publicly seems to favor Ivanka, I believe ultimately sees his legacy in his male children. When Marla wanted to raise Tiffany, a girl, half a country away, I bet he barely blinked. But a split from Melania at this point would likely involve his kid living at the very least in a different household, even if he could force or coax Melania to stay nearby.

I'd say wait for the kid to be in his mid-teens, where Donald could argue that living with his father sans mother is "okay", then pay attention to how soon after Melania is traded in for a younger model.

Or not. Maybe at 70 he's less interested in that stuff than he was in his 40s, 50s and 60s. Maybe the appearance finally matters more (well at least until Melania can't pull off at least LOOKING somewhat like arm candy).

Kromm,

  I don't disagree with you re the current Mrs. Trump's current clout. However; ask yourself which of these claims to fame (and clout) would be more impressive and lasting:

1.  3rd and current wife of Mr. Trump

2. Mother of Barron Trump

3. First Lady of the United States of America (and only the 2nd foreign-born one in history -the first being John Quincy Adam's wife Louisa).

In answering that query, I think one can get a good idea of a possible MO re her stances here. Even if they split the day after he was to  leave  office, nothing could take that title away from her- if she had previously obtained  it.

Trust me when I say this: I am PROOF that is not true! (Not to be too vain/overreaching about my looks of course. :P)

My $0.02...they are chosen intentionally to appeal to the target male demographic which skews towards the Aryan Race.  Trump's surrogates might be intended to appeal to female voters, but I think it is more of an ego thing with him.  He likes to surround himself with women - not because he thinks they are competent, but because they are women.

My theory is that he sees women as objects first, and executives second. He'll still hire women if they're capable of doing the job, but he won't even look at their actual qualifications unless he finds them physically attractive. And every disgusting comment he's made about women during this campaign seems to bear that theory out.

After making that declaration, Kellyanne had better hope her next check from the Drumpf campaign hasn't been stopped for payment.  He's such a petty fucker, I wouldn't put it past him to do that.

According to Qusay Trump, his father will accept the results of the election if "they are fair."  What the hell does that mean exactly?
