Fuzzysox March 17, 2018 Share March 17, 2018 Dear Derick get yourself some mental help ASAP. OR get a real job because it's very evident that being on Twitter all day is not good for your mental health or anyone else's for that matter. I simply don't understand why you are wasting your life away when your mom actually allowed you to get a real education? I am starting to get concerned for Jill because she can't get away from the life her father set up for her. 15 Link to comment
bigskygirl March 17, 2018 Share March 17, 2018 (edited) I wonder if he has some serious health issues besides a possible mental illness. Sometimes symptoms of a mental illness can actually be symptoms of a undiagnosed health issue. When was the last time Jill and/or Derick had a complete checkup with blood tests, mental health evaluation etc. etc. etc. I also wonder if Jill ever had her thyroid levels check. When a person is under a lot of stress or burned out, their thyroid levels can go wacky (yes, I speak from experience.) Jesus may be sending Derick and Jill a serious message about their mental and physical health, but they are not receiving it, or wanting to do something about it. Right now I feel like absolutely crap. I know my mind and body are sending me messages something is off aka anxiety and/or hyperthyroid/hypothyroid symptoms. Should I wait until Jesus tries to cure me and pray my symptoms away and read the bible like Derick and Jill would do? No I call the doctor and patiently wait to hear if I need to go in for a blood test or make an appointment before I end up at Urgent Care or the ER. Common sense is the name of the game. In the case of Jill, she is another one of his enabler. She does not know any better. She has her own issues she needs treatment for, but she is not doing herself, Derick, and their children any favors for not seeking help either. Two parents with possible serious health and/or mental health issues. Sad all around for everyone especially Izzy and Sammy. Edited March 17, 2018 by bigskygirl Link to comment
Popular Post Trillium March 17, 2018 Popular Post Share March 17, 2018 My brother is schizophrenic and Derick doesn’t fit that IMO. My brother would insist things like you need to cook rocks in the oven and the ramble about sports and teams that didn’t exist and would post messages on Facebook titled: To the witch that was outside my door last night. As much as I dislike Derick and all the Duggars I don’t think it’s fair to speculate that level of mental illness. It’s pure hell. Derick while he may have some issues to be just seems like an extreme religious nut that needs to justify his hate. His views are very much inline with many fundamentalists. If you’ve never been in that type of religious indoctrination what he’s saying seems off the wall and illogical. I’m certain a lot of the nonsense he’s spouting is things he’s leaned or learning in his “school”. 51 Link to comment
EarlGreyTea March 17, 2018 Share March 17, 2018 (edited) Derick probably means that time is marked using the date of Jesus' death. As in, it's been 2,018 years since Jesus. Remember A.D. (Anno Domini, or "in the year of our Lord") and B.C. were widely used before B. C.E. ("Before Common Era") began being used more often. That's probably what he's referring to, albeit inarticulately. To stay on topic of the show...I can't believe how much I used to like Cathy's appearances. I still think Jill calling her "Mom" and being affectionate with her says a lot about Jill's acceptance of her in-laws, when she could have easily given her own family more precedence. I wish I was joking. I wouldn’t be surprised at all of that is what Derick and the Duggars actually believe. Even if you try and point it out to them they’ll try and spin it that it still coincides with Jesus. 7 Link to comment

That people have the freedom to worship who, what, when, why, and how they please? Because if yes, I don't understand her logic. Freedom of religion IS a concept here in the US. The second amendment disallows the government from making laws to govern religion, which is why "in God we trust" has come under fire for violating the second amendment. (As far as I know, its only current saving grace was that it makes no mention of which god, allowing for the interpretation that you can trust in any god you choose, be it Christ, Allah, Budda, the Flying Spaghetti Monster.) It also sort of negates "it's our national motto" argument because while that's true, there's a good argument that or perhaps shouldn't be. Not to mention, she wants people to trust in a Christian god only. If they do, great, but if they don't ... she would need to acknowledge that's okay, too (but she won't). Freedom of religion is not a concept in Iran. You wouldn't expect the same protections there as here in the US. The comparison is ridiculous. Besides, just like the freedom of speech, the idea of freedom of religion protects one from the government only. Any person is able, allowed, and encouraged to worship what and what they see fit. It does not protect any given person from thinking someone else is wrong or unhinged for their beliefs. For example, I respect Cathy's right to be a hardcore, devout Christian. I also think she's batshit crazy and would be better served to tone down or shut up, but there's nothing I can do about that I think you mean the First Amendment? (Not being a jerk, honestly asking. I kinda have hysterical amnesia about the constitution after being forced to recite the preamble over and over again in front of my entire class in grade six. We had to recite it until we got it right and I kept messing up that damn last sentence. Ordain, establish, who cares what order you say them in?) Yeah. I don’t really know what to say about these two at this point. They’re horrible people but I can’t really work up much anger against them because I find them so pathetic. They’re both so clearly disappointed and/or bitter about the sad life they lead. I think Derick honestly pictured himself living in a foreign country saving the teeming masses from a Christ-free life and instead he’s stuck in Arkansas trying to keep college kids from partying and having sex. Jill probably imagined that by now she’d have had at least three kids via picture-perfect homebirths while also finding the time to attend births in remote wilderness areas that can only be reached by helicopter or whatever, and instead she’s had two complex c-sections and one kid in the NICU because she’s dumber than a sack of hammers and can’t figure out that after FORTY HOURS you should GO TO THE FUCKING HOSPITAL. Okay, I can work up some anger about that. Have kids, don’t have kids, you do you, none of my business, but I do think that once you’ve decided to have a child you have an obligation to do what is necessary to make sure it SURVIVES BIRTH OMFG JILL YOU CALL YOURSELF A MIDWIFE I’D RATHER HAVE MY DOG DELIVER MY BABY BECAUSE SHE’S A SHEPHERD AND AT SOME POINT INSTINCT WOULD KICK IN AND SHE’D START HERDING ME TOWARD THE HOSPITAL WHILE YOU WOULD JUST GIVE ME SOME CASTOR OIL AND TELL ME TO PRAY HARDER. Sorry. I’m going to be in the prayer closet with a bottle of Michelle’s Xanax if anybody needs me. Edited March 17, 2018 by mynextmistake 42 Link to comment

"Izzy, can you say bancruptcy" If this is all they've got, none of these children will grow up to be readers. I guess they never heard " reading is FUNdamental". We had a lot of the Dr.Seuss books, and there is a lesson in each of them. My kids, and grands loved them and all are avid readers. There is nothing like a good book to take children to a magic land where they can use their imagination. I guess the Duggar grands will never experience that, they're not allowed to think for themselves.. 18 Link to comment
