I still don't see an inmate being allowed to have a swipe key. Nor would I think a prison would have an inmate wear anything around their neck, even if its a break-away lanyard.

Most of what I "know" about prison life comes from fiction, so my assumptions are likely way off but...what is the demographic breakdown of correctional officers and how would that affect how a white conservative man gets treated generally? Because I wouldn't be surprised that Josh might have more privileges that the average inmate.

Apparently some federal prisons use inmate ID cards for access to their commissary accounts and medical services and the like.  His location appears to be one of them since the rules say they have to present their ID card to get their mail.

Using a lanyard initially surprised me, but they require prisoners to wear belts where he is, so I guess one more possible strangulation device doesn't make a difference.

I was thinking more of an assault than self-harm. It wouldn't take much to strangle another inmate who essentially has a rope already hanging around their neck.

He's in a minimum security prison. The inmates may be incentivized to behave as such so that they don't get moved to a more restrictive prison. So I can see how they may be trusted enough to be able to wear things such as belts, ID lanyards, etc.

His hair and beard are looking rather shaggy.  They have to pay for haircuts and shaving supplies in there, right?  Perhaps "daddy" cut him off...

I'm going with Josh does not give a shit anymore with a side of haircuts and shaving only happened before because someone else told him to.

It's also possible that they're using "breakaway" lanyards; I've had some that would sometimes disconnect from the weight of what I had on it (which wasn't much).

And that’s one thing I can’t disagree with, lol. Why shave if you don’t have to?

I think he's having the teen rebellion he wasn't allowed to have in his teens.

Since this thread is briefly active again, I'd like to ask:  Are the majority of "sexual offenders" that Josh is imprisoned with also in for offenses against children, or does it include rapists of adult women?

Josh is in a low security federal institution.  The offenders Josh is locked up with are all federal prisoners who were charged in federal court.  The feds normally do not prosecute violent crimes like rape, they leave that up to the state.  He's with other guys caught with illegal materials on their computers and not the guys who committed the crimes on video.  Those guys would be in a higher security facility.

Though the article says so, I seriously doubt that “there are plenty of upstanding, religious men in the church who would appreciate and take care of a woman like Anna,” adding, “There’s a lot of sympathy for her.” I doubt that JimBob would allow Anna to move on with her life in that way. Her useless parents probably offer no reasonable advice or assistance either. She is stuck waiting.

I hate to say it, but the only man Anna would attract in her limited social circle would be just as much of a creeper as Josh. Not to mention if she ever divorced, she'd have to find a way to support seven kids in the interim. She's not going anywhere, and I don't think she wants to.

Mackynzie is 13 today. I wonder if her Lolli and Pops will do a birthday post for her.

I'd like to think that all of the adult Duggars have enough common sense to keep all seven of these kids completely off social media. Celebrate this kid's birthday by all means, but not publicly.

I do realize who we are talking about here, though.

Yes. I would think it would be best for the children to be off social media. Of course celebrate Mackynzie's bday, take photos (share them in a google album or something if you want family to see them), but if I were in that position, I would explain to the children given our family situation, no social media until you are 18. At 18 you can make your own decision about that, but until then I want to maintain your privacy.

AMA on Anna Duggar and the Kellers

OP says that they believe Anna is both an enabler to Josh and a victim. OP doesn't doubt that Josh SA'ed Anna.

OP doesn't believe Anna is rude despite other rumors, just that she used to be previously sassy before she married Josh. OP outed Jana and Erin Bates as the "rude" ones. OP basically painted Anna as this very different person before she married Josh.

OP attended Josh and Anna's wedding reception and said that it was the worst reception they had ever been to in their entire life.

Nurie evidently scares the OP because she is smug and judgmental LOL

How does the AMA person know Nurie? I haven't read it, but it was my impression that they knew Anna when she was younger, not now.

Does this person attend the Keller's church?

Just trying to think of the connection.

I also had questions about the timeline.

She claims to not know Nurie personally. But then she also makes statement about her, like finding her scary, that make it seem like she has met her.

She also claims to have been raised with Anna but left the cult, which I would think would limit one's ability to meet Nurie, who married into the family comparatively recently.

The moderators wouldn't let people ask how she was verified.

Nurie is scary? Guess she takes after her mother.

Well, per the mystery AMA person who may or may not have plot holes in their story, yes. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Nurie was a bitch simply because that's what she has been taught all her life. But I also am not really convinced this person is legitimate.

It is hard to say. Some of it I can totally believe. I'm sure Josh came off like a creep to everyone he met back in the day before a lot of this blew. And I would put it past him to assault her on their wedding night. He doesn't give a s--- for anyone else and his viewing habits tell me he is a sadist.

I've scrolled through the various AMAs on that subreddit, and I find almost all of them to be fabricated in some way.  If you spend enough time in the sub, you can pick up on what the sub wants to hear and regurgitated that.  I think the only person who's story I bought was the journal guy who was willing to talk about his experiences in more than one forum.  The rest of these anonymous people I think have just enough truth to their story that the mods approve.  Like they attended one church event with a Duggar and can prove they were there.

I'm also not a fan with how cruel that sub can be.

Yes I bought journal guy. I also bought the one who testified at trial. And I also think the one person who claimed to be the Fedosky (?) son was legitimate, but I also was absolutely horrified at how the sub enabled his extreme creepiness. I think he was a psycho, and they didn't care because they wanted tea. And I think that attitude is what makes them so gullible for liars and why they attract so much of it.

In any event, I do think a lot of the AMAs on there are definitely people who are just repeating what the sub wanted to hear, and I am not inclined to treat them as the gospel truth (pun intended) just because some Reddit mods claim the person is authentic.

Even if this person is legitimate, I don't think they're really adding anything substantially new to the conversation of what we already knew about Josh and Anna.

This AMA person claims Josh and Anna had sex in the time between the ceremony and reception, with one of more "naive" sisters guarding the door.

I'm calling BS on the whole thing.

I dunno.   I can see Josh insisting on it.

In theory, sure, but at a wedding with over a thousand guests, with film crew  present, with a sibling guarding the door, which means at least one parent was aware of it happening and sanctioned their unmarried daughter to stand right outside a room where a couple is having sex? I don't buy it. I know fundies think "everything goes" among married couples but midday quickies in a public place where they're hosting a huge even dont' seem plausible.

I agree. Saying Nurie is scary…well I think the whole family is terrifying and I’ve thankfully have never been near them. She was raised by a very openly judgmental person, so I’d imagine her kids are the same way. Look at Timcel and his rants about women. Just because Nurie doesn’t have social media and we’d all like her to tell Jillpm to fuck right off, that doesn’t mean she’s not as judgy and hateful as her mom and brother.

I’m sure in private Jillpm is trying to get alllll the tea on Anna and the convicted felon. Just so they can say how godlier they are because their spouses didn’t look at porn (and it’s 100000% the porn they judge, not the age of the victims) so their husbands are better and they are better wives than Anna. They use Anna to make themselves feel better. So yeah I buy the AMA. But I think any one of us could have said the same things.  One of this person’s insights was Anna was an enabler and and a victim.
Yeah, no shit.

There was no insight in the AMA.  Questions about verifiable data were gaffed off.  People wanted to know about Priscilla's issues.  Anna herself has said her sister was born prematurely and Priscilla has said she received no outside help.

IMO, every AMA (is that what they're called?) I've read is like a horoscope, they put global shit in there folks want to believe and the rest is stuff everyone already knows.

Almost everyone of us who has followed the Duggars could do an AMA(?) and we would likely be believed.
