I noticed when there was a knock at the door, he just stood there and let Maya go get it. The douchebaggery knows no bounds. When exactly is he going to get his comeuppance? Because the way the abuse is dragging on and on, it BETTER be an epic smackdown. And how long before Maya actually chirps up and tells him he's going too far--not just giggling at the end of their little talks about how it's fun to be bad?

I'm totally watching a 6yr olds' version of Mean Girls. This is terrible.

We saw how she behaved when she thought Eric was going to somehow "revoc" the irrevocable.  She was still ready to stay with him.  For how long, who knows.

My feeling is that she was expecting him to marry her as soon as the ink dried on Caroline's signature. I think that window of opportunity is slamming shut for her and she is starting to notice. Here comes baby! (spec)

I missed the episode where Brooke size shamed Quinn's ring (so ignore my spec question of we're the hell he may have gotten it). That happened? Ugh. In her circle women have rings that look like Scrabble tiles or ones made of string who the fuck cares Brookie? And Deacons been unemployed destitute for ages so its kinda something he gave Quinn anything at all. Even if it was from her own money or stolen borrowed whatever.

Maya's sister Nicole is pretty.

What mansion only has 3 rooms?

Yes!  This!  And I know it shouldn't bother me all that much, but Brooke, Bill & Katie, and the Forresters are all supposed to have these huge mansions, but they all hang out in the front room, right off the front door.  That's the foyer!  If your front room is also your largest, most elegant room, IT'S NOT A MANSION.

Brooke was scaring me as she talked to Deacon about how he could be with Quinn after all she has done to Hope. WHAAA???? But, but, but.......Just a few months ago Brooke was on the verge of marrying a man who used Hope as cannon fodder in his quest to have his son marry the "right" girl, the "fun" girl.

I'd managed to put that out of mind, but that was yet another reason I could not jump on the Brill train. It was no surprise that Brooke could overlook that, considering Hope's very existence is a reminder of the betrayal to her other daughter.

She needs to be out of Quinn and Deacon's business ASAP.

To be fair, the show has always kinda done this, at least since I've followed it. The Forresters had a dining room set back in the 80s and used to film the upstairs hallways when Ridge and Thorne and Kirsten still lived there, though.

The only vaguely interesting thing about today's show was the wicked smile on Nicole's face, over Maya's shoulder as she was hugging her. Unleash it already, girlfriend!

New drinking game: Drink every time Rick or Maya utters the word "snacks." So, Rick is moving Ally to the room near the kitchen? Cinderella much? This is so stupid. Why does Nicole NEED Ally's room? Rick is just pulling wings off of bugs at this point. It's not even amusing anymore in the Boris & Natasha over-the-top-villain way.

ETA: How the hell is Quinn (or Deacon) planning to pay for the "BIG!!!" wedding? And Brooke is right--who would show up? I think they only did the crazy camera angles and ominous music in the Brooke/Quinn scenes because they knew how tired this SL is and they're trying to somehow enliven it. FAIL.

Are we going to find Nicole butt naked in Rick's bed or show up in the steam room? Is Rick going to trade Maya in for Nicole? Or is Nicole going for lead model? Maybe Nicole is a shoe designer and Rick will choose her over Ally.

Speaking of large mansions and not having a lot of bedrooms; where is the staff that takes care of the mansion? Didn't Eric have a housekeeper? Where is she now? The room off the kitchen is usually reserved for a housekeeper. The only saving grace is that the housekeeper's room usually has its own bathroom. In any case, Rick, enough is enough. We know that your all rich and powerful but leave poor Ally alone. You think your crap doesn't stink but it does stink like week old fish.

Brooke you were so outclassed today in your scene with Quinn. RS gave you a master class in acting. When Quinn is angry you see it in her face and her amazing blue eyes are piercing. Brooke can only manage a squint and some ridiculous accusations.

Deacon, that wasn't nice reminding Chickenhead that he lost the most specialist girl in the world.

I miss Steffy.**

I was kind of happy to see that smirk from Maya's sister, because before then I thought they were just rehashing the Daisy/Maya "you want what I have" story-line.

Ivy is more sensitive to Maya's feelings than Rick is.

So if the writers don't have Thorne around they just pick on his daughter instead.

Brooke, did you leave your dignity behind in Italy with Hope? "You're not going to marry Deacon, Quinn! I forbid it!" Really? One 50-something woman telling another 50-something woman that she cannot marry an unemployed gigolo? It all seems so contrived.

Looking forward to seeing what Nicole has up her sleeve and for Rick to get his comeuppance. What a douchecanoe! Ally and Ivy should "let Rick win" and just move out. The great thing about banging your head against the wall is how wonderful it feels when you stop.

WORD to your entire post, but especially the bolded part. Brooke could care less about Deacon before but now she's against him marrying Quinn? Since when?

Aly/Ivy are rich, employed adults who can afford to live anywhere they want so why put up with the abuse. Ivy and Liam should have been married and divorced by now according to B&B law, but yet they're not even living together? Contrivance is all B&B writers know how to do.

Petunia13 quote

Why is KKL/Brooke delivering her lines that way?

It's like this awful stagey singsong quality with exaggerated intonation and mannerisms. It's very "lah di dah."

Waldo13

Brooke you were so outclassed today in your scene with Quinn. RS gave you a master class in acting. When Quinn is angry you see it in her face and her amazing blue eyes are piercing. Brooke can only manage a squint and some ridiculous accusations.

In playing the abandoned, aging ingénue and her self-medication with Good Morning, Vodka, KKL's acting style has been hokey and affected. KKL doesn't personally relate to this turn of events for Brooke, and her acting technique telegraphs her clumsy interpretation of the storyline. She's been terrible and isn't getting better.

The idiocy between her, Deacon and Quinn -- forbidding their marriage as if she had any power to prevent it -- astonishes. Brooke 'gave up' Bill for Katie's sake. Brooke is done with Ridge, and never wants him back. Eric rejected her when she was last preg-ative with Bill's spawn. Now, the last man in Los Angeles is engaged.

Deacon is in love with Quinn -- someone who actually appreciates him, is emotionally available and wants to work with him.

Brooke doesn't want that. Brooke wants to be attended to and coddled. Once she has her fill (Deacon brings himself to the table, not much else) or is convinced someone better is on the horizon, she'll dump him.

  • Love 11

I have to agree with that. Today was quite telling. There was Brooke, wallowing in her aloneness, being comforted by her bottle of vodka. Abandoned, resigned...fighting back the tears. Stephanie long ago warned her that her "destiny" would languish into dissolved dreams and single tears of bitterness.

For one brief moment today, I thought that Brooke was going to tell Deacon that yes, they still have a chance. Given that she said no, I'm rather confused then, as to why she's so opposed to Deacon marrying Quinn. This was just like back when Taylor and Nick were getting together. Even though Brooke was engaged to Ridge, she did everything in her power to convince Nick to not get involved with Taylor because she was "concerned" about the effect the relationship would have on Nick. I think she argued that Taylor was on the rebound (from Ridge.)

Good for Ivy for at least attempting to tell Rick to go pound sand. I wish that Aly would have done the same. What I want to see happen is for Aly to be totally degraded, have Rick renege on his promise to launch her shoe line and have her go all smelly evil on him. I'm talking full rotten eggs stench level crazy.

I am a Brooke fan, and have always loved KKL, but find myself cringing as I watch her since her return from Italy. It seems like she is overacting everything and it is backfiring. KKL needs to stick to her bread and butter; she is not the best actress out there, but she is Brooke, and has molded and made the character what it is today; squinty eye’s, one eye crying and sex kitten voice not withstanding. I keep waiting for that nasty silver hook to come from the shadows and pull KKL off the set.

However, I am going to make an exception to this for the Brooke and Quinn scenes yesterday. Rena Sofer is such a good actress, and just like Susan Flannery always did, she brings out the best in KKL. Quinn didn’t come off as crazy at all, if anything, Brooke came off as a little nutty. Forbidding someone to marry? And why all this sudden concern for Deacon; a guy you didn’t give a flying fig about six months ago, when he was trying to pry you away from Bill. This isn’t about Deacon’s safety. And it isn’t about what happened with Hope. This is about Brooke’s loneliness, and losing her last available lifeline. Brooke knows that Deacon has always been besotted with her. She knows that he would drop anyone or anything to be with her. Deacon, just like anyone else though, has his limits, and through circumstances he met Quinn. And these two work for several reasons; Quinn needs a stabilizing force in her life who is not her son. Just like the Beatles sang “All you need is love”; Quinn is a person who has never known love and commitment from anyone, but once she found someone who had her back, she started becoming a different person. Of course Deacon is no prize, but the very fact that Quinn needs him makes him a better person because it forces him to focus on someone else, and not himself. They challenge each other to be better people. I hope they get married and become the power couple of the show.

What is Rick’s deal? His smarmy sweetness as he insults and belittles you is nauseating. If anything, his little boy neediness has escalated to new heights. Rick is the perfect example of a blackmailer who keeps upping the ante. I watch in horrified amazement as Rick continues to whine about his terrible life, and how he deserves everything because he was always second to Ridge, all the while gazing adoringly into Maya’s doe eyes. I don’t like Maya, but if it was me, I would be handing Rick a sock filled with sand and he could choose what orifice to plug up

Oh, I can't wait until Maya gets hers and I hope Nicole gives it to her good. How convenient to have a conscience now that you've got everything you want and "worked so hard for." I imagine fucking Rick is work. She was so rude and arrogant and condescending when they were fighting for his CEO position that it was disgusting and she deserves whatever payback comes her way.

Where the hell is Eric? He may condone Rick's treatment of Ridge now that he's having some sort of senior citizen crisis over him and their past competition for the ladies, and he may totally disapprove of Ridge's relationship with Caroline, but is he going to condone Rick treating granddaughter Ally this way?

Brooke. She's the saddest thing ever on soaps these days, forbidding and snapping at adults. Wow.

It's juvenile, but I want to see Aly and Ivy move out...right after they hide some really stinky fish and rotting eggs all over the house.  Maybe ask Pam to help them wrangle up a skunk and let it loose in Rick's bedroom.

This is the big major story line they've been dying to do for Brooke?  Really??  That's pathetic.

I almost spit out my drink when Maya made that "I worked hard for all of this."

Yeah, it's really hard work, lying on your back on a soft bed or couch or warm tub full of bubbles.

Yes, I  am at a loss as to what was such hard work. She has kissed Ricky's ass with a big ol' smile so that's not it. Caroline practically gift wrapped him so that wasn't hard. Everything else has been handed to her. Why whine now?  It just makes her even more unappealing to me, if that's even possible.

Yes, I  am at a loss as to what was such hard work.

Well, she went from being practically homeless to living in Beverly. Hills that is. Swimmin pools, movie stars. I guess it was a rough climb up that social ladder. (It'd be curious to see if anyone outside of FC really recognizes Maya as having any social status as the temporary FC CEO's girlfriend.)

It's amazing to me that she acts like all that luxury is "hers". She and Rick aren't even engaged and she's a long way from being able to claim that they have a domestic partnership. Anyways, I like that Nicole is not only intelligent, she's also apparently pulling something on Maya.

I'm starting to love Nicole because she could be bringing the rain on Maya's parade. But, with that said, what secret could Nicole have that would bring down Rick and Maya's relationship? Rick knows Maya was in jail and lost a child and even if Nicole was Maya's daughter, he would accept it.

The only thing I could think of is that Maya has gotten away with murdering another rich boyfriend. It was smart of Ivy and Ally to befriend Nicole but to be a little suspicious of her. I think after questioning Nicole, Ivy and Ally were not sure that she even goes to UCLA. Nicole has one heck of a body and I think that Rick noticed it also.

I'm an admitted Brooke-hater, which may make me hate her storyline more than I rationally should, but at least we finally, finally, finally got some forward movement today. Watching her pour drink after drink, then try to act composed to whatever guest happened to be at her revolving door over the last few hours (she’s seriously had that shirt on for like 2 actual weeks, but it’s obviously the same day on the show) has been excrutiating, probably because KKL seems to have left her mojo on the dance floor.  I'm hoping when she wakes up, she thinks she's gone back in time to a decent storyline (I can't think of one to insert at the moment, but anything is better than this drivel). Bring back CaRidge, or even more Forrester Creations-drama, the drunk Brooke stuff is painful to watch.

Artsda, I think Maya is definitely Nicole's mom. Wait until Caroline gets ahold of that!

Who wouldn't? Why was she walking around with tiny shorts and a tank top in a house where she knew no one? I don't have a problem with her wearing them in general (I know it's what I wear to bed in the summer), but it just seemed suspicious in that scenario. Especially knocking on Rick and Maya's door when she knew Maya was in the shower.

I want Maua's secret to be that she DID grow up rich and indulged in every way possible. Prep schools, cars, nannies a pony... but she decided to walk on the wild side with the criminal ex boyfriend. Her parents disowned her and vowed to be more circumspect with the younger kids, so they grew up with fewer of the rich trappings.

Or she's a terrorist, or on the payroll of an opposing fashion house (Is Spectra still around?) Anything would be more interesting than what they'll eventually come up with though. I think we can all agree on that.

That said, I love DeaQuinn, and have since they first met at Bikini. Someone upthread mentioned they should be the new power couple, and I'd second that emotion!

I got this. One of two things is gonna happen:

1. Deacon, on his way to his AA meeting, can't help himself and stops by to check on Brooke. He finds her unconscious and takes her to the ER. She's OK, but they are gone for HOURS. When Deacon gets home, a furious Quinn confronts him. When Deacon spills, she goes ballistic. Meanwhile, Brooke decides that she has to sober up and needs support. Deacon introduces her to AA and they bond over the shared experience of recovery.

2. Deacon, on his way to his AA meeting, can't help himself and stops by to check on Brooke. He finds her unconscious, but she slowly wakes up. She's OK and right on the spot, agrees to go to AA with Deacon. When Deacon spills to Quinn that he's going to make sure Brooke faithfully goes to AA (with him) she goes ballistic. Deacon and Brooke bond over the shared experience of recovery.

He'll be her only "support system," blah, blah, blah.... Just like back when she was raped and Ridge and only Ridge could support her...

Something must be wrong with me. Again, today, I had a brief thought that Brooke was going to hit on Wyatt. All the signs were there: divorce papers, beckoning bedroom upstairs, maybe both get a little tipsy (well, Brooke a LOT.) Brooke, lonely, abandoned and in despair, grasps on to the nearest man as tightly as a life preserver. Only this time, instead of Deacon/Bridget... lather, rinse, repeat.

I do hope that the Nicole/Maya secret comes out soon. I can't take drunken Brooke much longer.

P.S.: I miss Clarence. He'd be all over this hot mess.

The only thing I think the writers will do with Maya will have to do with the time she spent in jail.  Like maybe it will be that the boyfriend was the innocent bystander and Maya was the mastermind to whatever crime it was that took place...and Nicole found out by hacking emails between Maya and the boyfriend.

Ally was great today. She's such a good actress and I like how natural she is. The stifled laugh was great. I'm enjoying Nicole too.

Are they chem testing Brooke and Wyatt? Wouldn't be the 1st time she screwed a daughters lover or husband. At least it seemed that way until she kinda creeped him out with her little weirdo grasping "i wanna dance! i wanna laugh! i wanna sing!" speech and he made a hasty, almost frightened exit.

Raya seemed over the moon gooey head over heels gaga in love today. Which was cute even though I dislike them it was cute. Of course this is to make it more dramatic when Nicole starts being the spoiler in their romance. I think the Nicole secret was Maya was a black widow or gold digger who's man died in mysterious circumstances or she was guilty of her crimes in her youth. Nicole seemed a bit devious and like she has designs on Rick.

I don't think Nicole is Maya's daughter because I'm not sure Rick would give a damn, other than a couple of days of typical Rick pouting. I think the big reveal has to be a lot bigger and better than that, like she (a) killed somebody--maybe a boyfriend or even their parents, and that's when she left home, or (b) she was a prostitute, or © she stole a lot of money from their family or some rich guy, or (d) she set out to snare Rick in the first place. I'd be happy with any of THAT dirt. I hope they don't drag it out, though, because this show has been a slog lately. I just don't give a crap anymore. This must've been the period of time in filming when LG was in the hospital after her accident.

ETA: I bet it cannot be a coincidence that Nicole is a computer science student--maybe she hacked into Maya's home computer, or found out something by digging into prison systems. It just seems like that's the ticket--she found out something about Maya, and Maya isn't sure she knows it yet.

Maya: There's nothing in the past I want to revisit (referring to Nicole).

Whatever Maya is trying to avoid from her past, it's nothing that directly dealing with Nicole's living situation wouldn't have taken care of.

I think it would be pretty awesome if Brooke had a Scrooge like experience, and was visited by three ghosts while she is unconscious:

The Ghost of Brooke’s Past = Storm, to remind Brooke of how they grew up, and how the Logan’s always had each other’s backs

The Ghost of Brooke’s Present = Caroline 1.0, to demonstrate to Brooke how you can have a relationship, but still maintain your own identity

The Ghost of Brooke’s Future = Stephanie, to generally kick Brooke’s ass for fucking up after she was generous enough to hand her the Forrester Matriarch mantle

I would love Maya’s secret to be really, really BIG, but I doubt it. We’ll probably get something like she got suspended from high school for smoking in a non-designated area, or she was a party girl who drank and did drugs, or she was rebellious with her parents. I want something like:

Their parents are dead and she and Nicole are grifters who planned this whole thing out, but Maya cut and ran after she got out of prison.

Maya comes from money, but was always the bad seed, and got mixed up with and pregnant by the wrong guy, and mom and dad cut her out.

Maya is Bill’s long lost daughter who was given up for adoption. After discovering she was adopted, Maya left home and wound up in prison. While incarcerated, she corresponded with Nicole, who used her computer savvy to find out who Maya’s birth dad is. Maya came up with this plan to get into Bill’s orbit, and little sis now wants some of the pie.

I don’t know why, but I get the feeling that Nicole is not the bad sister here.

I absolutely believe they were chem testing Brooke and Wyatt. Outside of the fact that he is available, and Brooke hasn’t already slept with him, is the fact that now Brooke is going to have a feud with Quinn. And B&B must always pull the offspring into the parent’s wars. I think it would be hilarious actually, to see Brooke getting her cougar on, and Quinn’s head exploding. It would sure be more entertaining than watching Brooke fight Quinn for Deacon.

Maya is only 30ish, right? If Nicole is Maya's daughter that means Maya would have had her when she was a young teen and that would probably mean sexual abuse. Plus, Maya's behavior toward Nicole is anything but maternal. I'd be guessing that either Maya "forgot" she gave birth or she doesn't know (e.g., she was told she miscarried). Do we really need another one of those stories? Nicole clearly knows some kind of damaging secret about Maya but it doesn't seem to me like she's holding a "forgotten child" kind of grudge.

I don’t know why, but I get the feeling that Nicole is not the bad sister here.

Today's slow clap goes to Ivy. I loved everything she said to everyone. The only thing I questioned is why she actually thought any of that would make a difference. Not that I think she shouldn't have said anything, but her saying she was going to speak to him "cousin to cousin"? They never had that cousin/familial type relationship.

"Go ahead. Call my daddy." Oh, Jacob Young. You make me laugh.

Truthfully, this crapfest is insulting to every viewer.  First, these writers are lazy ass dumb.  Look at it this way, the show, here in my city, starts at 1:30 and ends at 1:55.  You have approx 9 minutes of commercials, so that leaves the writers with about 14 to 16 minutes of dialogue they have to write.  But don't forget, there's the obligatory helicopter shots of houses, FC headquarters and beaches before every scene commences.  That's not a whole heck of a lot of words they have to write, but still they can't come up with anything interesting?

The reason I call this show insulting is that no one, especially a family member of a "family" business, would EVER take the kind of crap that Rick is dishing out.  I can't for the life of me understand how supposedly mentally fragile Aly is taking this crap.  She should have gone batshit crazy on Maya and Rick a couple of weeks ago.  But no, these idiot writers are having us believe that Aly is so worried about some silly shoe line that she's acting like a maid.  Hey Rick, HIRE some freaking help in the big mansion.

Everyone needs to just quit, leave Rick and Eric to it. It is abusive. Loved Ivy taking her shoes off and telling Maya to rub her feet.

Brooke has Beata Vodka on speed dial? She just calls them up to send a case ASAP.

If Maya becomes anyone's long lost daughter, I hope to God it's not Bill. He's already found out about two of his sons like that, does he really need this story yet again?

If Nicole is May's daughter, then she can't possibly be the one she gave up when she went to prison...which bears asking why TIIC didn't do more with that when they wrote it in. Or why she just doesn't have an inconveniently-timed pregnancy when Rick inevitably dumps her.

I was wondering why when Ivy mentioned that the profits were actually Ridge's and Caroline's Rick didn't have a retort but when Ivy mentioned her popularity, on social media, Rick told Ivy that Quinn gave FC better designs than her.  Rick also laughed at the prospect of Ivy calling Eric.  Once again we have Maya being Rick's voice of reason.  Yes Maya, Rick is only having a little fun.  I hope that Maya's secret is that she is an enchanted horses ass because she certainly acts like one.  Instead of macking on Maya all day and all night why not check on your mother.  After all she is suppose to be an employee of FC and she has been MIA at the office (not that anybody works).  Now we are going to have Brooke and Deacon bonding and Quinn getting an itchy trigger finger.  I've found that people who drink alcohol, socially, heavily, or as alcoholics, have a special bond.  They gravitate to each other and view non-drinkers as outsiders.
