I think I read long ago that he had a dog that was aggressive towards the little girl when she was tiny. I kind of think there’s more to that story but that was what was given to the media at the time. If I’m wrong, I’m sure someone with a better memory will put out the correct info.

It was the dog, and the fact he also has some issues with alcohol.

Wonder what a right-of-way specialist does? That is Luke Dennis’ job. Kathryn’s brother, also named Luke, is getting married soon. Kathryn is a bridesmaid, along with a slew of other women.

It is a quasi-legal/administrative job. I believe he works for the power company. A Right of Way specialist partial job description:

Determine right-of-way concerns affecting the County; determine location of right-of-way.

Prepare and maintain a complete set of records in regard to right-of-way legal descriptions, transactions, deeds, agreements, and other related documents; review documents prepared for County acceptance.

I am happy for her, but let's see if she gets married. Hasn't she been engaged three times before??

Her alleged fiance also has been engaged before. So not a new territory for both of them, LOL.

I can’t get enough of seeing TRav and JD getting arrested.  Couldn’t happen to nicer guys!

I wonder if this has anything to do with owing the location of his bar all of the back rent. I could see him writing them a bad check to pause the lawsuit, and then cackling about his genius move with TRav, a glass of his stupid bourbon in one  hand and a cigar in the other.  Hope no one posts bail, that overstuffed boar could use some time without the finer things in life that he clearly can no longer afford.

Stupid jerk. You would think he'd try to keep his nose clean after the drug rape allegations.

ABC4 said "Madison was charged with check fraud, greater than $500 and less than $1000, first offense." With it being such a small ammount I guess Elizabeth tossed his sorry ass off her money train when they split and didn't refill his coffers when they started publically making nice after the allegations. She needs to divorce him & he needs to be in prison.

His whole bourbon hospitality business must be a farce if he can't cover a $1,000 check and the bank won't extend overdraft protection.

He was arrested on Saturday, he's still in jail with a bail hearing on Monday. I hope Elizabeth doesn't bail him out and he misses Christmas.

Dang, less than a thousand?!?!? Oh, how it warms the cockles of my heart to know that he’s still locked up for this, and that it must be killing his ego that now potentially millions of people know he’s not rich.

I hadn’t known that Elizabeth was the one with the real money.  This is fantastic news!  No wonder he was living in the pool house - and he was lucky to get that.  He might have to go stay with fellow sexual assaulter TRav after this. Oh, to be a fly on the wall when they are in a room together, talking about how unfair it is that the good ole boy justice system is failing them.

I still wonder if Craig ever got that $10k or 15k check back that he stupidly wrote out as an “investment” in that whole supposed Gentry business of JD’s. Or maybe it was all just for show? Probably not.

Betcha in hindsight that Craig’s so glad that he never got that opportunity he once desperately wanted to run that lowlife’s liquor biz.

Naomi is feeling vindicated. More so with the recent drug rape allegation and the check fraud arrest. I believe her when she says that she and Elizabeth discussed last season's confrontation at Shep's party beforehand.

Having said that, I understand Elizabeth simultaneously wanting and not wanting the father of her children being outed as the cheating, drug raping, deadbeat asshole that he is,  but damn she would have more respect and sympathy if she distanced herself from him. Fuck the photo op, the walkon TV show support at Pat's party, and the supportive statements in social media. It makes her look the fool.

She wiped clean her Instagram account of family stuff and is shilling products. Hope she's developed some backbone.

Thomas is pretty much a fool for this.  Even IF they were true (because she's had routine drug tests, and I'm pretty sure she'd have faced consequences if she'd failed any of them), HE also has a drug filled past.  He's been to prison for drugs.  And, on top of that, like I said, if it was true, it doesn't make him less guilty of rape.  It would just mean that the children have an active addict for a mother and a rapist for a father.  He can't prove his own fitness as a parent by smearing her, and it's not like it was just the nanny who said he assaulted her.

He also claimed that Dennis gets “overwhelmed” when she has Kensie, 4, and Saint, 3, for extended periods of time and is consistently late to their appointments,

Show me the parent that doesn't get "overwhelmed" when caring for a 4 year old and a 3 year old for any extended period and I'll show you one who has assistance from a family member, a friend or A NANNY!  Kathryn doesn't have the benefit of a F/T nanny as Thomas has always had.  Two pre-schoolers is pretty overwhelming!  What a DB he is.

There is a video going around of Kathryn backing her car into another and leaving the scene. Apparently happened in Oct but TRav included the incident in a new court custody request, along with new drug and alcohol accusations.

Those poor babies: neither of their parents are fit to raise children....

I watched the video and it's not clear if she ever contacts the owner or not.  The video ends and you don't know if she actually leaves or not. She scrapes a parked car which is really crappy if she didn't leave a note but I don't she why this makes her an unfit mother.

Hitting a car and leaving the scene can be a serious offense in some states- not sure if Kathryn has a criminal record but committing a possible misdemeanor or felony doesn’t help her custody case. It is also terribly irresponsible, and reflects poorly on her judgment.

It still doesn't absolve him of rape, though.  And, if he was this concerned about her being around the kids due to her drugs/alcohol/driving, why wait 3 months to bring it up?

This is not defending Thomas but it’s most likely just that is when their next court date is so his lawyers aren’t going to court at every instance but just producing materials per the schedule of the court. This doesn’t reflect on their validity just when the court is going to be responsive to the arguments.

I get what you're saying.  It just seems to me that Thomas is in some shit right now, because of his current issues, so he's trying to smear Kathryn, to deflect attention off of himself.  And he's bringing Bravo into it, etc.  None of it changes what he did or didn't do, of course.  Where I get stuck, though, is that if I had a kid, I'd have a really hard time waiting a few months to address drug/alcohol abuse with the other parent if I were in a situation like this.  If it was something that rose to the level of concern that I felt the court had to get involved, then I would think it would be the type of thing you'd want to get resolved ASAP, especially given the ages of the kids.  They can't exactly advocate for themselves if a parent is too intoxicated to drive like a 12 year old could, for example, these are kids who aren't old enough to know what that concept is and also would be picked up and (hopefully) strapped into their carseats, unable to refuse to get into a car.

Not to excuse still-crappy behavior but it was like a scrape as she was backing out of her spot in a parking lot, not like a high speed thing.   It's still not okay and not responsible but I really don't think scraping a parked car should impact a custody case.

Thomas is a piece of garbage yes, but I do believe she drank of did drugs during those pregnancies. And she did back into the car and drive off that’s a hit and run no matter what kind of damage she did, it’s agsivst the law. To bring it up in court and use that is a shitty thing to do yes. To bring the drinking during pregnancy yo is also Shitty but I believe that there is truth to that and it would explain a lot.

However, Thomas seemed to miss the opportunity to bring this up when they initially split and were having child support disagreements, when Kathryn lost custody in 2016 and had to go to rehab, and again when Kathryn was petitioning for 50% custody. It would stand to reason that he would have brought this up during those earlier custody fights. Her present drug use was always an issue. From what I can recall, I don't think he ever brought up her using while she was pregnant until now. That is a pretty damn egregious oversight if he's truly trying to convince a court and the public that she's too dangerous to be around the children.

This seems like a lot of Thomas' retroactive narratives to make himself come across as a better, smarter, more successful person than he is. He only ran against Lindsey Graham because Andy Cohen bullied him into running.* He had to dumb things down to Cameron because he can't admit that Cameron just wanted nothing to do with him. Luzanne Otte became an "obsessed stalker" when he realized that she'd become closer to Patricia and could corroborate some of Kathryn's claims about his lies, manipulations and his sexualized aggression. He decides that Patricia is a carpet-bagging wannabe who is rejected by Charleston society when she stops speaking to him and has blocked him on social media.

So yeah, I can believe that Kathryn might have done drugs or been drinking during the pregnancies; though it might have been inadvertent because those two were sloppy as fuck and I don't think she ever tracked her cycle well enough to stop on a dime. And if she was drugging during her pregnancies, it managed to never show-up in any of her gestational blood and urine tests. It also never showed up in the kids' bloodstreams at birth because child services would have had to get involved.

However, you've got to question why Thomas is finally finally bringing it up now. The truth is that he didn't care before because he was winning. Now that everything is going tits up, suddenly it's Kathryn is a junkie who used while pregnant, Patricia's a carpetbagger, the crew sold Kathryn drugs, and what have you.

*This one always pissed me off because Thomas was allegedly trying to get back into the South Carolina conservative fold. It seemed to me that claiming that a drug using gay Jewish New Yorker, who specializes in tv that features trashy women bickering with each other, somehow bullied you into running for a senate seat AND spending $1 million of your own dollars does not make you seem like the strong conservative voice that conservative South Carolinians want representing them.

Since I'm too lazy to start a Chelsea topic, I'll put this here.  She sure is leading a charmed life.  I hope she continues to be what she appears to be; level-headed and drama free!

She just seems so effortlessly cool. Nick seems like such a perfect fit for her and he’s also hot as hell. Hope good things continue for her!

It was brought up years ago. It’s how Thomas got custody of the children, her drug use and failed drug tests. There was the video I mentioned earlier of Kathryn smoking pot while Kensie was screaming, and Thomas didn’t take that video... her former stylist did. I think the earlier court battles were not splayed out on the front page like the new claims are.... and a lot of people missed earlier claims.

That video gets brought up a lot, but whenever I have clicked the link, I can't really see anything or understand anything?  That might be why it didn't get much attention in the media-it's not really something that can be substantiated other than message board gossip. And divorce/custody proceedings aren't generally as horrific as an arrest for rape/assault so I can see why Thomas's legal situation is getting more attention now.

There were MANY stories on their custody case and issues. If you go back to the midpoint of the old Thomas & Kathryn thread, you'll see a ton of links to these articles. They got the custody case sealed. However prior to that, you can still find some of the filings archived in the stories and on scribd. I haven't read through all of them, but they absolutely mention her current drug use at the time the petition was filed, her alleged neglect of her children, her mental health issues, her time in rehab, and how she kept the kids from Thomas. I haven't managed to read through all of the posts and stories, but the one consistent thing that I saw was that the allegations about Kathryn was using during pregnancy were "verified" by screencapped texts and revelations from "insiders." These allegations never seemed to make it into the official petition. There were a lot of dropped hints in the blogs and tabloids, but it doesn't appear that this allegation was ever shared with the court. Many of these allegations were disseminated through All About the Tea which is slowly showing themselves to be as reputable as Fame Whorgas. And the fact that reality tv blogs got screencaps of Kathryn's texts searching for drugs really REEKS of Thomas' same shit, different day manipulative assholery.

I believe Kathryn was the one who initially requested the drug tests hoping to catch his drug use, which many viewers believe he still does. His counsel turned it back on her and she failed her drug tests. However, none of this indicates that she was using while pregnant. And the fact that these screencaps and statements kept popping up in the tabloids is enough to make me think he tried or wanted to get them introduced, but they didn't fit any allowable hearsay exception or couldn't be authenticated. Furthermore, there were months of whispers and rumors planted with the blogs and tabloids saying that Kathryn kept failing drug tests. This persisted until Kathryn released all of her drug test results.

Why anyone would believe anything coming from Thomas is beyond me. He's proven himself to be an inveterate liar with impulse control, substance issues and super fucked up beliefs on all manner of issues. Kathryn is no prize, but Thomas is a toxic stew of misogyny, bigotry, manipulations, instability, entitlement, and lies. He always goes scorched earth on anyone who disagrees with him or calls him on his shit. He throws a tantrum and threatens to quit every season when he comes across like a petulant dumb insecure aging lothario or a liar, all of which he is. Has he ever actually quit? No. He's only off the show now because he's accused of multiple counts of rape. There is basically a solid 20 - 30 year record of his behavior demonstrating that he is a liar, has poor impulse control issues, and not to be trusted at all. It's also pretty clear that he was dead drunk when he flipped that ATV and his friend lost his leg. The man shouldn't be around people.
