Popular Post CleoCaesar May 25, 2022 Popular Post Share May 25, 2022 (edited) Interesting move, going out on such a stale turd of an episode. I feel exhausted by the avalanche of Deep and Meaningful™ Pearson word salads. I suppose I should be used to it by now. Hilariously, 6 seasons of This Is Randall ended with long shots of Randall staring at Jack. Truly one of the most mediocre finales in recent memory. Popular Post Spartan Girl May 25, 2022 Popular Post Share May 25, 2022 (edited) Maybe last week’s episode would have been a better finale, but I’m fine with a finale that didn’t make me want to tear my hair out in frustration. This was a bad night for several reasons, and I think we needed a soft landing for the show. That moment with the Big Three on the porch and then with Jack and Rebecca on the train was lovely. While I didn’t like everything in this final season, it managed to come through in the last few episodes. For all this show’s flaws, I will miss it. It helped get through some very tough times. Popular Post Blakeston May 25, 2022 Popular Post Share May 25, 2022 And of course Toby had to tell Kate "I love you" without hearing it back. Because the writers just cannot resist highlighting that she was the real catch, and that he's the one who was lucky to have her. Sure. 70 Link to comment
Popular Post ams1001 May 25, 2022 Popular Post Share May 25, 2022 Okay, they got me in the end, but it was Kate's comment about being afraid of drifting apart from her brothers that set me off. And that's more because sometimes I wonder what will happen when my parents are gone. My brother and I have never been close. We get along fine, but we don't talk much outside of family stuff. I wonder how much we'll talk to each other when it's just the two of us. Then Randall's comment about not knowing if Kevin ever learned to swim and Kevin's response that he had to or he would have drowned in all of Randall's tears got me laughing. Was Philip even seen in this episode? 44 Link to comment

LoveLeigh May 25, 2022 Share May 25, 2022 (edited) Well I remain very disappointed. It was a good episode but as a final episode to a series it was not remarkable or outstanding, there were no shockers or surprises and it was a manipulative tearjerker. I cried more during other episodes. They missed the mark with this one. It will not go down in history though I suspect it will get good reviews. Edited May 25, 2022 by LoveLeigh 18 Link to comment
nilyank May 25, 2022 Share May 25, 2022 So they planned for it to end like this? So much Pearsoning about nothing. Eh. I did like the Big Three chant. That was cute. I would have ended it on that. 14 Link to comment

Popular Post Jeddah May 25, 2022 Popular Post Share May 25, 2022 That was crappy ending for what turned out to be a crappy tv series. It had so much promise when it started! t7686 May 25, 2022 Share May 25, 2022 I didn't hate it but it could have been so much more. It was a good episode but not a great series finale. They should have ended with the train. That said, I liked one last worst case scenario, the flashback to the ordinary day and the Big Three at the end. What was the point of Tess, Annie, Hailey and Kevin’s twins? I will miss this show though for all it's faults. All of then deserve Emmys. 13 Link to comment

That was my favorite part of the episode. I am extremely close with my grandparents, particularly on my mother's side. I'm the oldest grandchild (31), and their youngest grandchild is 5. I think often about how extremely fortunate I am to have had them in my life for so long, yet I feel such profound sadness when I know there's absolutely no way that can happen for the youngest (they would be 110). When William talked about how the grandchild/grandparent relationship starts with such an unfair time inequity, I felt that in my heart. That scene was the best writing this show has had. As a surprise to no one, that was written and filmed during the first season. I was full on sobbing, and I'm crying again as I think about it. Edited May 25, 2022 by PepSinger 21 Link to comment

Popular Post Racj82 May 25, 2022 Popular Post Share May 25, 2022 Life goes on. The major theme of the end. Remember all the little things along the way. Their lives will go on but we will just not be with anymore. There was nothing else to do in the end. I spent one last time with the family I love. That's all I wanted. I teared up several times. I'm reaching that age where I will lose my parents sooner rather than later and I'm terrified. But, I do try to hold on to all the little moments in between. Appreciate them while they are here. This isn't Lost. I wasn't expecting to be blown away. 34 Link to comment

Popular Post Bulldog May 25, 2022 Popular Post Share May 25, 2022 That was pretty anticlimatic. I wouldn't call it bad, per se, just kind of meh. You'd think the network's crown jewel would have gone out with a better episode. Mileage may vary, of course. I did like Beth saying that Randall would probably go to Puerto Rico and swim with Miguel's dead grandma's ghost. At least somebody on the writing staff has a bit of self awareness. 22 40 Link to comment

RC Jones has had a double lung transplant since he left the show after the earlier seasons, so he probably is much healthier now. Thus the fuller face. 15 4 Link to comment
