Then Pete and John, Kyle and Andrew. Josh, I don't like you! Gets one. Connor C, Brendan, David get one. No Aaron is the I don't like you! Guy. Christian and hunter, the whiners, get one. Chris H says final rose better than Kaitlyn. And I think Cody is the guy who's not liked.

She has really cute guys. I didn’t like the guy with hair hanging in his face. The one guy does look like Judge ReinhoId .  I wish Chris was still on, he added a sense of tradition. I don’t mind Taysha but can’t stand Caitlin. Katie looks prettier than I remember.

Ok, I’m going to jot down the names of the guys I liked so I remember them. Let’s kick it off with First impression rose Greg, and…Tre, Thomas, Connor, Andrew S, ugh I missed a name, Brendan, David, and Christian.

My 13-year-old wants me to say she likes “Motorcycle Man Brad” (who likely isn’t actually named Brad) and once I said it was a scooter, she said, “Ok, Scooter Skeeter then!” And also catman Conner and boxman James. She also wants to make it clear she’s very anti-Hunter because he seems more like a forager.

Its not a Bachelor/ette start of the season promo without everyone crying, screaming, and the Bachelor/ette saying they want to give up. 

Did she only send three guys home? Two of them I don't think we ever heard from, I have no idea who that guy with the bangs was. For all I know, he could have been a sound guy they just tossed onscreen last minute. I am still not at the point where I remember names, but I like cat guy, Vienna guy, art guy, and ballpit guy, and first rose guy seems nice but I don't know if he will make it to the end. They seem like a decent batch, they are all really good looking and most of them even seem to have real jobs, but its so hard to tell in the first episode. Everyone usually starts off well then show their true colors, good or bad, later. 

Except for poor Matt, I could tell right away that half of his producer picked contestants were absolute messes that Matt would never want anything to do with in the real world. At least these all seem like real competitors that Katie could like. Nobody too over the top ridiculous clearly picked for drama or memes.

Especially in the middle, they belted out 5 names without pausing. I went back to the article in the media thread to look at pictures and figure out who I missed, but my memory already waned. But I did notice that the two Connors look exactly alike, so once the one comes out of his cat suit, there will be no discernible way to tell them apart. I don’t remember the other one, so conceivably I’ve already assumed all the Connor talk was coming from catman.

Several of you have mentioned some the men wearing ill-fitting suits, but I want to point out that Katie's dress didn't fit very well, either. It's one of my biggest fashion pet peeves when the seam that's supposed to be *under* the boobs is in the middle of the boobs. That dress looked much cheaper than the designer gowns the Bachelorettes usually get on the first night, and none of her outfits from the promos and previews looked good either. I guess the wardrobe budget got cut in half this year because there are two Bachelorette seasons, and then Kaitlyn's and Tayshia's wardrobe budgets had to come out of Katie's half as well.

Most of the men are handsome and seem nice. I wish the Nashville math teacher hadn't dressed up as a cat and the Viennese football player hadn't done the fake British accent; I liked them better before they did those things.

I would never go inside the creepy old van of a guy who sells skin, and I'm sure Katie only agreed to it because there were camera people and producers with her.

Katie's kissing style is very off-putting, she goes from zero to full make-out with everyone. The expression "sex positive" has already been overused.

I already forgot, who got the first impression rose?? I must be in the minority, I liked the cat guy, and maybe his "shtick" gave him attention and made him stand out. I also like the shy awkward guy. I cannot remember names at all. Kaitlynn-I was horrified to see what she looks like--her whole face has morphed into like a picasso painting--scary--can she fix that???

I thought Katie looked good--anyone know what she does for a living??

Small detail that made me giggle... usually the first impression rose is on something fancy-ish looking, but last night's was in a small woven basket. Perfect for the setting, but it doesn't scream "first impression rose."

She's got a good group of guys. Not a fan of the motivational speaker, the dude who picked the fight, and blow up doll guy. 

Eternally hopeful that we'll get a good season, but this franchise has been very disappointing the last few bach/ette seasons.

I hated how she kept telling the guys not to be nervous and every time they were , she kept shaking them and saying “ breatheee .” 
Telling someone not to be nervous is the same as telling them to calm down . It has an opposite effect . 
 

Also  , she kept saying she wants a “ fiancé “ out of this when the usual shtick is wanting a “ husband “ or “ wife .” I Guess we see her end goal lol .

I wasn’t going to watch. Then I decided I wanted to see the men. I watched, but was distracted, so I watched it again the day after. I was not happy they were having Katie as the B’ette, but found her to be more attractive than I remembered, I think because of the new do, with the side part in her hair, instead of in the middle. They certainly did cheap out in the wardrobe department for her big debut, her red dress had the material and look of a slip, thats worn under a dress. I remember past gowns these women have worn and some are drop dead gorgeous. This dress was .. eht. I’m not too thrilled shes leading her “journey” on the premise shes a sexually free and wild kinda gal. Not likely to be the kind of girl you want to bring home to meet your mom, unless of course, your name is Peter. I guess we’ll see where that all goes.

 

Caitlin better stop spending her money on trying to achieve her dream face. Big mistake to start messing with your face like that. Her right eye is looking pretty wonky and I don’t remember it being like that before. 

Reminds me of discovering on tik tok and youtube, videos of women pranking their boyfriends, or husbands, that they went and got lip filler injections to see their reaction. It is downright Roll on the floor hysterical the way the men react. Not one of them thinks its a good or attractive enhancement, and some laugh uncontrollably in their faces. So funny. They achieve the false lip filler look by using eyelash glue in an interesting way. Its a great prank. All the men are fooled until the joke is revealed.

 

So, anyhoo, me, who wasn’t going to watch, got out my notepad and kept track (and secret score heheh) of the fellows as they were introduced. At least I have a list of the names now, but will take all season to place the names to the faces.

Katie sure did get Lucky this night! What a handsome group of men they were.

I’d say up there in the top five groups assembled, this bunch was high up there.

 

I really liked Michael 36 the business owner, Christian 26 real estate agent, Artist Justin 26, Brendan 26 fire fighter trainee, Josh 25 consultant for IT, and Connor 29  the  math teacher cat. See? I told you I took notes! Those are my personal picks so far, if I were in Katies shoes. I could do without all the sexual innuendoes during first introductions though , so boy scout points are lost on those who did that. In my book, that is. Katie on the other hand might have added a boy scout point to those who did.

 

It was fireman Brendan who offered his jacket to Katie outside while they were playing hockey, as he was the only one without his jacket on in that scene. Extra point for him! 

They seemed to breeze through a few introductions in the middle of them there. The scooter guy was Brandon who was shown saying nothing, not even the introduction part they seemed to bypass. He was that dark quiet kinda dracula looking guy. He did not receive a rose, but when he left, seemed like such a gentleman when he said goodbye to Katie, that now I’m intrigued, and wish he stayed.

 

I predict........... (drumroll) ....... that Christian will be the Grand Prize Winner. I dunno. I just do. He was really sweating it out standing there waiting for his name to be called. They focused on him going through that quite a bit too, so i knew he was going to end up being picked eventually. Just like they did with Hunter 34... I didn’t note his occupation, wasn’t interested.

I know those Boston boys (Christian is from boston) usually think very highly of themselves, and he seemed almost in disbelief as he stood there waiting, seemingly forever for his Name to be rosed.

All in all a very handsome and interesting (hopefully), batch!

I think that Andrew M from Newport Beach is gorgeous- he's what I'd call "office hot"; he really wears a suit well and has a nice masculine, friendly demeanor and a great face/eyes/hair.  I remember seeing the ABC website when they first announced The Bachelorette cast and there was a handsome guy named Bao who had high cheekbones and great bone structure and I was really looking forward to seeing him- I guess he had to leave the casting process for work or something.  There are some good looking guys this season.  I haven't dated since the pandemic started, so its nice to see some eye candy on my TV!

I totally agree about the ill fitting dress; it looked like a 2003 Wet Seal prom dress and the seam cutting into the middle of her chest was so distracting and unflattering.  Katie needs to learn about the art of a "slow tease" and subtlety in kissing rather than devouring a guy's face.

I honestly didn't recognize her at first and it is so unnerving to see! She reworked her entire face and here's what I think she had done: Botox, lip fillers, cheek fillers, a nose job and possibly a "cat eye" thread eyebrow lift. I loved her natural face- she didn't need any of this done and the nose job especially distorts the proportions of her face.  I will never understand why some women feel the need to follow the "Instagram Influencer" surgery bandwagon- they all end up looking the same and it reminds me of the Twilight Zone episode "Number 12 Looks Just Like You".

Dang, I just looked up Bao. Wowza - I hope they cast him for a future season. 

I doubt Katie is as sexually free as the show is portraying her, I think they just once again lean HARD into whatever theme and trope they're going with. I enjoyed Kaitlin and Tayshia as co-hosts, though I don't think it'll be ongoing, nor do I want it to be. I'd like to see a set host again, but perhaps different hosts for Bach and Bachelorette. I thought the interaction they had with Katie improved the show and I'd like to see them develop the host position a little more.

The after the episode thread is my favorite too- I buy the season on Amazon since it is HD commercial free, so I can't watch it live until a few hours after the episode premiers.  Bao is gorgeous- I hope that he's cast on a different season.  The producers definitely lean hard into one personality trait or value- like with the Colt Underwood virginity thing.  I do hope that with Katie's "Sex positivity" that she can somehow hold her horses around these guys and not give too much too soon without evaluating their character.  I have a feeling that a few of these guys will end up playing her with ulterior motives like social media fame or TV exposure in mind. Great phrase for Greg- "regular guy hot", he really is! He looks like the really cute guy I'd see in a grocery isle and ask to reach something for me- very "approachable hot"!

I'm so torn on cat guy. In his intro footage, he seemed like a giant geek and I was cringing for him. But he won me over with his "it's not a costume party? Fuuuuck..." approach to entering the house, it was a nice ice-breaking moment. Also, every time the editors cut to him thoughtfully nodding along to someone's Night 1 deep thoughts with his "paws" around his chin, I laughed out loud.

However, the kissing part was a bit skeevy. He was actually trying to lay her down mid-kiss, she was able to scoot out of it, but it was A LOT for a night 1 kiss with 30 other guys in the vicinity and cameras in their faces. So I just can't decide if I like him or not.

Christian seems like a show villain waiting to happen. Arrogance wafting off of him, disparaging comments about the other men on night 1, he seems destined for the douchebag role.

Which seems fitting, based on his vibe. He seems like that guy who would walk away from a girl in a bar mid-sentence if he spotted someone hotter walking in.

I kinda liked Greg, but his shyness routine puzzles me since his job is listed as being a sales/marketing manager or something like that. You cannot be in sales and be that nervous and awkward around new people.

ETA: forgot about the guy in the box. That was a pretty funny running gag with him doing interviews from inside the box. And he seems like a pretty cool guy. It's bugging me that he talks JUST like somebody and I can't place it. That slow, chill California speech pattern sounds exactly like some actor and I can't put my finger on it.
