Whoopi, for the second day in a row, screeches "don't give out your social security number!" She has no idea what's going on.  I read something recently about how some institutions use security questions like: your mother's maiden name, name of your first pet, city you were born in, etc, to recover your passwords.  Those are thing that can be found on Facebook.  Post happy birthday to your mom, and someone who wants to can use that to figure out some passwords.  You know those cutesy questions like, " what's your pornstar name? Use the name of your first pet, and the street you grew up on". Yeah you may have just given more info than you think.

I heard someone on the Today show say that if you need to provide answers to security questions like what is your pet's name you should lie.  Use your best friend's pet or your cousin's street.  Of course you have to remember what alternates you used. 

Also, check which apps are linked to your FB account under settings and delete them ASAP.

I remember one time I had to fill out something for school and they asked for my mother's maiden name. Since my parents taught me to be paranoid about these things, I created some random one and submitted the thing I was doing. Many months later I needed help with something about the application, so I called and they asked me for my mother's maiden name. I had no idea what I put for my application. I told them the truth and they were like, "That doesn't match."

It worked out in the end, but yea. It's easier to go with pet's name and then make something up from that as oppose to mother's maiden name. It will just cause you problems later on if you forget it.

OMG you are right.  Those two questions are usually security questions.

I'm sure Mark Zuckerburg had no idea when he created FB what it would ultimately become but once he brought in investors I'm sure they saw the potential.  It has become a thief's paradise.  I have a co worker who said if 30 years ago we were told that in the near future we would let our location be tracked, post personal pictures and tell hundreds of acquaintances things we used to only tell our best friends we would have said you are crazy but yet here we are.

My son got his bank card hacked twice in the past year. So did I. No losses; the bank covered the $ and noted the strange city use on our cards. 

I told my son that it will happen again.  Just be careful and  vigilant online as much as possible, and live your life.

And just what was Whoopi blathering on about yesterday? It was during the discussion how Cynthia Nixon isn't qualified to run for Governor, and then Whoopi jumps in, and instead of adding her opinion about it, goes on a rampage about New York City, the mold, and asking what Nixon's going to do about that. Huh? Is she saying she wants Nixon to make that her platform? Because you know, she's not Governor yet. Then she went and "told" Mayor DeBlasio he needs to "fix" the mold problem.

And then all that talk about puir puir puir Melania. I rolled my eyes SO HARD. I don't feel sorry for her one bit. She's not this naive delicate flower. And why didn't Joy or Sunny bring up how she was a part of the whole "birther" thing? But I see what she's doing there--she's making Cyber Bullying against children so that she doesn't have to justify it because the man she's married to is proving himself to be the biggest cyber bully there is.

When they brought up how she defended him, that he "hits back" when attacked; they also failed to mention how she called what was revealed on the tape as "locker room talk," which I was surprised that neither Joy or Sunny brought up, because Joy said Melania had no standing regarding the #MeToo movement, but other than the number of women who had filed charges, didn't mention what Melania had to say about them or the tape.

And yes, I loved how Sunny threw out how everyone held HILLARY responsible for her husband's actions. But Meghan said, they're different because Hillary was Bill's "partner." WHUT?

And sorry, Meghan, but you have proven over and over again, that your husband DOES speak for you. When you keep saying he gives you pointers. And you use said pointers when you're screeching on this show. Also, by your definition, partners are different and isn't your hubby yer partner?

I remember those days too.  I got a card immediately because I needed to save every penny (sadly, groceries are the first place for me).  My great friend didn't have to watch even her $20s.  She got tired of being asked for a card and so she changed grocery stores.  Albertson's never had them.  She was happier to drive farther to eliminate harassment.  

I joke that I grew up being taught that God was everywhere and He saw and heard everything I did.  I believed it...so it was an easy transition to Big Brother.

Wow, Elsa is just ridiculously self centred and paranoid.  Joy said, getting your foot in the door is a big deal, in other words saying that having a famous or known parent can help, and that is a big deal.  Sunny said, she likes the idea of a level playing field, because she came from humble beginnings.  They were not talking about Elsa or Eugene Levy's son, they were discussing the topic in generalities.

Then Elsa challenges the two of them:  what did you want me to do?  Not take jobs because people know my father?  What an idiot!  Luckily neither of them took the bait, and I frankly think they were stunned or had no idea what she was talking about.

So here is the thing for me, I don't think Sunny should have said what she did, about wanting someone to take Trump out back and kick his little butt. Joy even tapped her, and said, "she doesn't mean it, tell them you don't mean it," and Sunny stumbled and said about standing up to Trump.

Now I like Sunny, she is actually my favorite out of the whole panel, but I think she was wrong to say that. Now do I think she was advocating violence against the President, well her words did imply that she wished someone would physically beat him up.

The thing is now I know that she really doesn't want someone to do that, and I'm confident that all of us on this message board don't believe she really wants someone to do that. But in today's society, some people believe this stuff. Remember the guy who went to the pizza shop (I think it was a pizza shop) to shoot up the place cause he read fake news about Hillary Clinton.

There are some mentally unstable people out there, and things we let slide or know are in jest, some people take really seriously.

So I'm glad that she clarified that is not what she was advocating. Not for me, or any of us, but for someone out there that might actually believed it.

Every time Meghan brings up ANYTHING, I want Sunny to say, "I don't care, let's talk about the debt."   Because that's how Meghan tried to shut down Sunny.  Lets talk about the debt!  - OK, Meghan, what do you want to say about the debt?   Nothing?  Ok, then shut up.  She often brings up topics they SHOULD be talking about instead of the ones that make HER uncomfortable.   She may see herself as a "political commentator,"  but that's not the show that she's on.  

Meghan's "Double standard"  stuff was such, as whoopi would call it - BULLPOOPY.  Trump, at rallies, would yell "get him outta here"  and "Beat the crap outta him", about people who were right there.  That is not the same as Sunny ASKING "why hasn't anyone ever beat him up."  To me, she was expressing surprise that he had not yet been subjected to a beating for his bullying tactics. 

And when Meghan raises her voice to that high-pitched screech, while she talks over everyone - it makes my ears and my brain hurt.

The problem with Megan is that she is riding the coattails of her parents, and is essentially amateur hour IMHO.  I don't always disagree with her "views", but she acts like a spoiled brat in every conversation.... having to hog the spotlight, talk but not listen, not get sarcasm (or any joke), and is just generally an unpleasant person on a show where it is fun to have "pleasant" conversations. You need to prove yourself now, by being good at your job, and you aren't.  You are a trust fund, no talent baby, with no experience, knowledge, or aptitude to be on this panel.

During the discussion on nepotism, the feelings that they all have about each other was pretty evident.  Sara talked about someone she knew who never mentioned his connections.  Sunny said she respected that so much, and said people should be required to make their own way.  Meghan tried to respond, said "I've work very hard to get here....."  and Whoopi talks right over her,(Go Whoopi!  do that more often) but says that often kids of famous people have to work harder to prove themselves (but not that) .  Sunny  talks a little about how it's unfair, that people without the family connection can't even get in the door,  but parents help their kids.   But Meghan says "what should I have done?"  talks about a CAREER IN POLITICS, says Sunny is "throwing shade at me."  REALLY? First, Meghan has a career in being a talk show panelist, not exactly politics.  And Sunny expressed what a lot of people are saying, not about Meghan, but about the family business going on in the White House.  Everyone knows that Meghan is on the show because she is the daughter of someone famous. that is not in dispute, but Sunny did not direct her comments to or about Meghan directly.

I think sometimes the hosts of these shows get too comfortable with each other and say things they would say to friends but shouldn't say on tv.  I think that's what happened with Sonny re Biden vs. the bully.  I think she thought it, said it and instantly regretted it.  Do I think she meant it?  No.  Not at all.  Am I surprised Meghan jumped on it?  Not at all.  Meghan seems to need endless attention.  Perhaps because she doesn't have nearly as much going for her as she thinks she does.  Good thing she has money and her last name cause she ain't all that.

I think perhaps Elsa doth protest too much.  Getting her panties in a twist over jobs/family connections/etc., may well have been because deep down she may feel she got jobs based on her family name, not on her own qualifications.  Why else would she have gone off like that when the topic came up?  The whole thing hit too close to home for her, IMO.  Plus the fact that she is completely humorless, bitchy, arrogant and argues a point just for the sheer "joy" of the argument.   I can't imagine living with such a dour bossy-pants; I bet The View ladies walk out of the studio every day, climb into their rides and crack open a flask, thinking, "Whew.  Thank god that's over".

I haven't rewatched, but I believe Whoopi tried once to shut it down without mentioning the SS, then Sunny just repeated she wants someone to stand up to Trump, then maybe Whoopi said the SS thing, then Joy said, Sunny didn't mean that and urged her to say so, Elsa said she threatened the President, and Sunny said she didn't, she didn't think that was what she said.  I may have that order wrong, but the important thing is Whoopi was indeed just trying to subtly change the topic, and it was actually Sunny, who didn't catch on, and Elsa, who outright accused her of advocating violence, that made it worse.  Elsa had also earlier implied that they were hypocrites (I DON'T LIKE A DOUBLE STANDARD! done in her screechy valley girl voice), because they were opposed to violence when Trump was advocating for it at his rallies, but now they are advocating violence against Trump.

I just don't get why, when Sunny said something about somebody kicking his little butt, neither Joy or someone else piped up to say, his fat butt!

Meghan made a false equivalency regarding Ivanka and the spa and Meghan being treated badly for being a Republican.   The spa didn't turn Ivanka away.  People were upset with spa for having her as a customer.  She really does make every conversation about her being a Republican.

Me, too...until I started noticing that in order to participate, you had to click that the quiz app will access your and your FB friends' info.  That's when I stopped.  I also noted a huge increase in all kinds of junk mail being sent to the email address I have attached to my FB account.  No more quizzes for me (although, it was fun to see what Harry Potter character or Gone with the Wind character I was, or what celebrity I most identify with, LOL!!)

I loved it, too, and I loved when she laughed in Meghan's face when she tried to say Sunny threatened the president, emphasizing how ridiculous of a lunatic Meghan is. Meghan is always foaming at the mouth on this show, but she was a special kind of bitch today. Even in the lighter topics, like when Joy was cracking the rest of the table up with TMI about animal sex, she had to make a condescending, snappy remark. Like Trump, Meghan has had everything handed to her every day of her life with no real conflict, and that's why she has no respect for anyone or anything and goes into screaming fits at the drop of a hat. I guess the talk about nepotism hit a little too close to home, because her last name is the only reason she got this job--or any of her other jobs, for that matter.

And her behavior during the Joe Biden discussion is another example of why ABC would be shooting themselves in the foot by keeping her employed. Instead of standing by her co-worker like a good employee or anyone with a conscience, she instead tried her best to make the situation blow up and harm ABC in the process. I can't wait to see her ass finally get booted off this show. I'm sure daddy will find her another "career."

There's just too much rage inducing/flames on the side of my face things that happened yesterday, and I'm still too incensed to list them and respond to each, but I will do an overall reply.

First, the good. Actually, the BEST comeback from Joy. When she's talking about how she thinks 45's hair is styled, Meghan is constantly interrupting her, and Joy FINALLY says: "Will you let me FINISH???" in between her dramatizing how they probably style the hair. That is, she didn't stop what she was saying, but very smoothly inserted that line. I SO wish the camera had been on Meghan so I could have seen her reaction.

And of course the other BEST thing was Joy listing the mating habits of all the animals. EGADS. Now Meghan doesn't like the word Penis. I want to know what I missed with Meghan interrupting and overtalking, that caused Whoopi trying to keep her laughter in check. First it was her covering her mouth because she had a coughing fit; then Joy said something or was it Sunny? and I could see Whoopi's eyes fill with humor, and...mirth. 

First, yes, Sunny did say why hasn't anyone taken "him" somewhere to "beat him up." Then right after, before Whoopi, or Joy, or Meghan jumped on her, she said "Why doesn't anyone stand up to him?" This was also before the producers were yammering in her ear. THEN Meghan jumped all over Sunny, bringing up how "they" didn't like it when he was a candidate, advocating for violence, and now what Sunny was saying was the same, and it was "double standaaaahhhhhhrd!" No, I think the word she needed to use was hypocrisy.

Poor Sunny couldn't get a word in; with Meghan screeching, and then Whoopi (who should have stayed home this week; she sounded so BAD and obviously still very sick) shut it down, and yeah, she absolutely said TO SUNNY, that now the Secret Service were going to come after her for what she said. Yeah? Fair's fair--will they be going after Biden as well? The sound from the video where Biden was speaking was AWFUL. But if he said that he could beat 45's ass and would, how's that any different from what Sunny said? Then came the tap-tapping of the ear piece, but Sunny was distracted and couldn't I guess multi-task? It went to commercial and when they came back, Sunny did the sarcastic, dead pan apology. Team Sunny here.

Nepotism. MAJOR eye rolling here with what Meghan was spouting. No, even if YOU SUCK at whatever job you got because of your last name/who your parents/grandparents/siblings are, companies still keep them on because of who you are related to. And that's EXACTLY why you were hired on this show, MEGHAN. Because of your famous father.  And for all her whining "WHAT SHOULD I HAVE DONE???" Well, gee, since you've been telling us over and over and OVER again, that you grew up in/with POLITICS YOUR WHOLE LIFE, and that's ALL you and your family TALKED ABOUT GROWING UP, why the fuck didn't you major in political science? That way you could have gotten a REAL POLITICAL job, and you could show potential employers you had the know how/education for the job.

And she's one to talk about being robotic on television and blaming Zuckerburg for everything WRONG that's happened since November 2016. Considering that she defends who currently sits in the White House, his "BASE" (because we are nitwits ignorants who need to be told why they voted the way they did; every.fucking.day), blah, blah, blah, blah, blah...

The way the explained how it all happened? Well, speaking for myself, I DON'T get my news from FaceBook or social media. I actually go to reputable sources; AND I can think for myself. So here's where I agree with Whoopi--People need to self regulate and not click on articles because of "juicy headlines." In other words: click bait.  Those idiots who believe such propaganda already had the mindset to think like the stuff that was being peddled. So no, I don't think if anyone watching this show saw what Sunny said, would then go out and try to beat up 45 or do violence to him.

And Meghan wants to talk about the debt? The "awful" tax cuts? When she was all for them and supporting them? Good God, she's done more flip-flopping this week than she has since she joined the show. She NEVER until this week, believed the Russians interfered in the election. She keeps insisting that it was his BASE who brought him to victory. Of course, she's forgetting that it was the ELECTORAL COLLEGE that did that. And that ties in with the Russian interference. Because you know, he didn't win the popularity vote. And Senator Booker reminded her of that last week.

And Sara can just STFU with her straddling the fence and not picking and sticking to a side.  I don't follow her, so I don't know what exactly was said to her after she said she supported what Melania was doing. Her explanation of can't you support/like one aspect of a person's character, even if another isn't good? And Joy brought up how she's a birther, and Sara jumped on it. Nope. Nope. Nope. Let's flip the script. For me Sara saying that is like saying, can't you support a person's platform on x, which is a laudable thing, a good thing, even if that person is racist, bigoted? One does not cancel out the other in my book. So I have no problem with the people that "attacked" Sara for what she said. You can't have it both ways.

As for Ivanka. Well, again, Meghan is wrong. A business can refuse to provide service to anyone if they want to. Bitch, please. There are businesses that are out there who have done so because the people in question are gay/lesbian/black/other minority. So STFU with your constant pity party that you are shunned, refused, belittled just because you're a Republican. No, it's because of YOUR ugly personality. And IF the salon had refused to style her hair because of who she was, they would have had that right, for whatever reason. For her being a horrible, tone deaf, narcissistic person, or guilt by association because of who she's related to.

Hi everyone! I've decided to briefly leave "lurkdom" to get some things off my chest in relation to this highly annoying TV show!

Today really solidified in my mind what an awful person Meghan is. What she did to Sunny in that segment, insisting that Sunny had been threatening Trump, was so low. I did like Sunny's clarification though, she treated it like it was as ridiculous as it was, which I think was the best way. We'll see what happens next there, if anything. Meghan seems to really have it out for Sunny, especially since the "That's not what I learned in law school" discussion from the other day. I don't know if others saw it, but it spilled over into Twitter where a user asked them both to explain more on what they were getting at re: the 2nd amendment. Sunny very politely answered, Meghan then told Sunny she was wrong and cited something which Sunny then politely responded to, showing how Meghan misunderstood the very thing she was trying to use as a "gotcha". I feel like Meghan is really threatened by Sunny's intelligence.

Since Joy's apology the other day, it seems Meghan is bringing up a lot more: "Joy and I agree on this" type points, almost as if she feels people like Joy and Sunny need to be brought down a peg or two, and then she'll deign to be less combative on occasion (not by a whole lot though, obviously). I could be just reaching there though.

I agree with the frustration re: Sara's opinions. She makes me think she's kind of the embodiment of that old quote of Archbishop Tutu's: "When you stay neutral in situations of injustice, you've chosen the side of the oppressor." I will say I do think she's got a level of professionalism about her others on that show could learn from, and as shallow as it sounds (I'm sorry!), she does have a wonderful smile/laugh that is so endearing. But, and this is probably me projecting a bit, I can't help feel she comes across like a couple of friends I had back in University. When I was involved in a couple of situations where I was on the end of some nasty bigotry from others, these friends made a big show of lecturing me if I brought it up: "What you have to understand is..." followed by some rotten excuse like: "they're from the country" etc. You always felt with friends like that they didn't fully have your back, and Sara makes me think of that often based on the way she expresses her opinions. It's just a feeling I have though, and may not be accurate, I fully admit that. I obviously don't know her.

I know she's not popular among many people, but since Meghan arrived, I really miss Jed. I rarely agreed with her, but she was a much better fit for the panel. In fact when they were rotating panelists, I remember wishing they would get rid of Candace, Raven and Paula and keep the other five, and so was really happy when they pretty much did. Jed could be frustrating, but her annoying points like the fast talking and "I'm a Republican, no, Conservative, no, Libertarian, no Independent" were no worse to me than, say, Sunny's pearl-clutching on any issues relating to personal relationships, or Sara's wishy-washiness, and certainly no more annoying than Whoopi's attempts at drawing the line under every discussion with ill-formed thoughts. When they were off the political stuff too, you could imagine that Sara, Jed and Sunny really might have hung out together outside the show. Plus, I miss watching her dancing out and waving to the audience each day like she was coming out to a show called The View with Jedediah Bila. It was hilarious, but also kind of endearing.

Sorry for the rant. I'll duck back into "lurkdom" now. I also hope my points makes sense to the rest of you. I'm not from the US, and it's really late here and I'm tired. Just had to have a bit of a moan!

I think Sara doesn't want to offend anyone.  She has seen what has happened to her co hosts and doesn't want any flack thrown her way.  But yeah, her straddling the middle of the road is annoying.  Just because Melania is supporting a noble cause (cyber bullying) doesn't mean it excuses her past misdeeds (promoting the birtherism).
