Of course, if Eve or Eduardo or both show up to take Ben out, that's an opportunity to reference that bit of history. As much as CIN getting this big wedding annoys me I'm so watching to watch the pandemonium unfold. Oh and get this. Want to talk about irritation? If they just wanted to reshoot the strangling with Chandler in the place of Guy, that would be one thing, but to have Sami get her son back and then nitpick the fact that his memory isn't working quite right to the point where she asks his murderer to almost remurder him? That's some super sick shit. But Ron just thinks it's adorable and has the characters roll their eyes and say "oh Sami". Is there some kind of rule that says that Ben can't be the one who is shot? I've no interest in seeing Ciara in danger for the millionth time, or to hear people telling someone who objects to Ben being free that they are "just as bad" or "worse" than he was. That's horseshit. I mean, I fully expect Ron to make it as campy because....he's Ron, but I recently stumbled across that episode, that one single episode, where they allowed Eve to cross Ben's path, blow up at the sight of him and nearly murder him in the park. Kassie was amazing in that episode. Her rage was so raw and so overwhelming that she didn't give a shit what Ben was saying and someone actually had to come into the scene to prevent it from turning into a homicide. I think we were all applauding her performance that day, but of course the show made it a one-time only thing. If we got a bit more of that, I'd be fine with it. Heck, I'm still fine with whatever it was that Claire did the last time. I didn't commit much of it to memory because I knew it was a stupid character assassination storyline, but blood is thicker than water sometimes, and I would expect anybody in this crazy town to go to lengths to try to keep Ciara away from Ben, especially family. ...I still can't believe how much potential Ciara had as a character and how it has all been washed away. Also, y'all, I have to admit, I love seeing Ivan back. He fits into this very specific time frame in which I watched Days when I was a kiddo, so I'm hoping his scenes will actually be fun to watch! I do like John with kids I wish they would let him be the cool grand dad of Salem where he doesn't need to go on adventures at his age but deal with adventures through his grandchildren which should keep him occupied tbh. I mean Tom/Alice were part of stories for years dealing with all their grandchildren's problems: Hope, Jennifer, Melissa, Julie etc. They need to give Jarlena and Stayla more grounded storylines where they acknowledge the couple is a certain age but they can still be fun. Like you said, there's a lot of stupid/unbelievable shit that happens on Days, so why argue over it. BTW, I agree Eve doesn't have to get over her grief, but no grieving person in their right mind would go to the lengths that apparently Eve will. So what the hell is the point of spending all that money on a wedding that will be undone in two months? We haven't heard anything about them recasting Ciara so it seems like they'll be moving Ben into someone else's orbit. This will be especially infuriating considering the actress was already making it clear she didn't want to stay on the show permanently when they were figuring out her last contract negotiation. I'm actually for it in this case, better to wipe out Stefan O.'s rapey grossness during the Gabigal stuff if he's staying, and they can always pair the twin with Gabi at some point if she comes back or whatever. In other news, I saw a pic of Sami and Will and it made me wonder how she is going to feel about her beloved eldest child being besties with his murderer. ETA...reading the whole article about the twin thing, I'm reminded a little of the Rex/Schuyler asspull of a retcon on OLTL. It's not the exact same because this is twins and not a baby switch, but Alison Perkins did end up lying to Roxy because of how sickly her baby was and how it probably wasn't going to make it, and that sounds like what Ivan did. I realize some people find Ericole boring, but did the producers feel the same way? They couldn't even concoct a set of somewhere else, or do a location shoot for one afternoon? From what little I can see of Nicole's dress in that trailer, it could not be more boring. If they hired extras to appear in the pub, I call BS. You can't on the one hand claim that they're having an intimate family-only gathering, and then have complete total strangers sitting there. Belle and Shawn and Claire should absolutely be in attendance. Chloe and Parker too. ...I love that trailer though. We should have been seeing this kind of promotion for the wedding for the last few weeks. I've been having to remind myself to be grateful that this wedding was filmed before the covid-19 lockdown started. Who knows what's going to happen with the show in the coming weeks. Right off the bat she's fighting with Nicole, learns her daughter is pregnant, and sees Will with his murderer. I was never her biggest fan but she does bring energy to the show and other characters. I love her look of disgust/shock at Will & Ben being the best of friends. Why do I fear she is not going to be allowed to rip into the Sainted Ben? I don't know what the hell is going on with shirtless Lucas and Bonnie, but her lustful smile is hilarious. Didn't Steve & Kayla say that since they were already at the airport they should just fly off somewhere? Then why are they in the same motel room that I've seen countless others stay in when they're in Salem? Is the show really that cheap that they can't redress their lone motel set?
