bravofan27 August 25, 2017 Share August 25, 2017 (edited) The show started with Sonya and Luanne defending their relationships and Bethanny poking holes in all their arguments. Then Andy got tough and drilled Bethanny, which really surprised me because she doesn't like talking about that stuff at all, and she spent half the season not speaking to Ramona for bringing it up. That was the gateway Ramona and Luanne needed to get their digs in. I LOVED how Luanne, trying to sound musing said, "I wonder why he is so mad?" which, IMO, clearly implied that it's because Bethanny pissed him off because she's a mean bitch. I thought maybe Andy started the questioning because he was upset Bethanny admitted she was dating Dennis, when on the show she said they broke up, but pretty clearly, at least IMO, they didn't break up, just said they did. I think that sort of piqued Andy's bullshit button and he pushed Bethanny more than he would have otherwise. In any case, for Bethanny to say that her child is "isolated and happy" is ridiculous, because being isolated is not a happy place to be, and to say she's only 7 and doesn't know anything-- BULLSHIT. That kid has probably smoked pot and been drunk by now with all the mayhem going on in her life. Also IMO, Bethanny does not have any clue how to raise a child normally and just does not know how to be loving mother. A loving mother would, again IMO, not be carrying on like this with the ex, and would suck it up and give him the money or attention, or whatever he needs to make things more pleasant. She's just teaching her daughter how to be stubborn, selfish, and push people to their breaking point and then cry victim. If her life is so miserable, then why not make efforts to stop it? Also, if he's so horrible, why isn't she filing for full custody? I think she likes the attention and she likes being a victim. I had a friend whose husband was unstable and did the stalking thing, and she fought him tooth and nail for full custody for almost 10 years. I don't know that Bethanny is trying to get full custody or not, but if he is the horrible monster she says he is, I would think she would want to get her child away from him. Since she is content with shared custody, it makes me think that she has some shit to hide and she doesn't want to take the chance of being exposed. Personally, I think Jason should file for full custody, because that woman is toxic. The most she has on him is he leaves his poop in the toilet and turns the phone when Brin is on Facetime with her so he can't see her ugly ass face. The arrested for stalking thing... I don't know what led up to that, but it seems to me it isn't something Bethanny is going to want to talk about. Also, as far as I can tell, Tom lives in a Penthouse. A penthouse is a top floor apartment with great views and he has the wrap around terrace and top floor. So it's a penthouse. Just shut up Bethanny in a middle floor apartment bitch. Trump won so obviously more people voted for him than didn't. Bethanny even sort of implied that she didn't vote for Hillary, or didn't want to. This election just sucked all around. I give Tinsely props for being honest about not voting. The other ladies just "pleaded the fifth" which may mean they voted for Trump, or it may mean they didn't vote. Who knows. breezy424 August 25, 2017 Share August 25, 2017 (edited) Geez, it may be considered small but it's a 'penthouse'. Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems like the top floor of what would be considered a tall building. And it takes up the whole floor. It has a direct elevator entrance. The apartment number or elevator button may well be 'penthouse'. We may envision a 'penthouse' being big - what is the square footage requirement? It's actually pretty nice and probably works well for a single man and for a couple. On another note, there's three sides to Beth and her mother's relationship. We really only have one side. Sure Beth's mom has given a couple of interviews but we don't have the in depth side that Beth has given. It was screwed up family for sure. Seeing Beth's personality over the years, she's got a whole bunch of her own personalty flaws. She also the queen of hyperbole when it comes to what 'she's' dealing with. It's always Beth as the victim. I wouldn't doubt she's always been this way. Her mom according to Beth was an alcoholic, a bulimic, and a victim of domestic violence. That's pretty heavy, if true but isn't her mom teaching at a college now? It's funny though, in one of her books, Beth was concerned about who was going to pay for her college, spending money (IIRC), etc. Beth is all about Beth. And maybe there's more to the story of why she and her mother don't talk and why her mother feels the way she does. We know that her father didn't want to see her at first when he was dying. Beth doesn't display a whole lot of empathy. Maybe that's because then she would have to take off her victim-hood crown for a second. Edited August 25, 2017 by breezy424 12 Link to comment

Irrespective of "rumors," her voting history, and/or the Fanjuls' assertions that she beat up herself, I personally think she qualifies as, yes, a victim of domestic violence. It's one thing to openly say that you don't like either Presidential candidate because of issues xyz -- totally valid, especially in 2016. Bu you also vote for your senators and representatives, state and Congressional; your mayor, city council members, referendums, etc. Tinsley didn't say what you have astutely said about not feeling educated enough about the issues; she said "Voting just isn't my thing". This is beyond irksome because a) voting is not a hobby and b) it speaks volumes about how she has negatively conducted herself sometimes this season. She has grown up wealthy and will always be wealthy; if her problems are too big, she can pout and someone else will fix them. Silly presidential election? So stressful! Who needs THAT? She has said this on numerous interviews and now on this show in regards to the ex. “I was accused of something I didn’t do” She was arrested for criminal trespass on Nico’s property. She is the one who called 911 herself. She was told by dispatch that there was a trespass warning in place which she said she knew about. She was told by dispatch to come to the police station and they would send someone else to retrieve her belongings, She was told to leave the property and if she was there when they went by she would be arrested. She chose to stay until the police arrived. What was she accused of that she didn’t do? ... She gave me the impression from her 911 call that she went stalking and tried to get in and freaked out when he wouldn’t answer the door. He was in his house with another woman, too, apparently. Tinsley was crying and carrying on about it to the 911 operator. Maybe Tinsley was trying to deny the idea that she was being a drunken jealous stalker the night she was arrested??? Hmm. Well, she was drunk. And she was jealous. And there is something a bit stalker-ish about standing outside your ex's house screaming and crying about him being with someone else and refusing to leave, all while the police tell you that you have to leave because there is an order of protection against you and don't worry, they will get your purse that you left behind but if you don't leave you will be arrested. And you stay. The only other thing I can think of that she could be denying is that she herself was physically violent toward her boyfriend, which is a rumor that has always circulated about her. But I don't think the fact that she was accused of violence herself has ever been mentioned on the show, which makes me doubt that is what she was talking about. It would be a dumb decision to make any reference to that aspect of the story at all if she could avoid it. It would really put a nick in her "victim of domestic violence" storyline. Then again, Tinsley is stupider than a box of hair, so who knows. Edited August 25, 2017 by Celia Rubenstein 11 Link to comment

It would be like someone referring to their mansion as "the mansion." Just say "my house." As far as Tinsley goes, it's called apathy, and there's a whole lot of that nowadays (has been for a very long time). I don't waste my time worrying about people who feel that way about politics. It doesn't make me like her less either. A person has to do a whole lot worse than to not vote in order for me to put them on my shit list! Bethenny also spends a lot of time in the Hamptons throughout the year as well. Production seems to film there on early in the late fall but rarely when winter comes around, they tend to go to Dorinda's Berkshires home then. I think they, production, prefer the HWs to have their home base in the city. I like the show when they film the parties in the Hamptons. They should film a Halloween episode in the Hamptons. 7 Link to comment

I can see Jason accepting the call but then holding the phone, periodically turning it away I read somewhere can't find that their custody arrangement allowed liberal calling at any time. I disagree that he would do that intentionally and I think Brynn is old enough to hold the phone. 22 hours ago, ZaldamoWilder said: If you remove Beth from this story, consider that nobody really has a reason to invent a fucked up childhood. It's not like sympathy has some street value. My kid was 8 when I got her her first phone. And that was a Firefly, one of those rinky dink 3 button things, call mom, call dad or call the police lol. I wouldn'tve gotten her an iphone at 8. Shit I didn't wanna get her one at 16 lol. Anyhooo, I say that to say it's probably Jason's phone. Carole described other petty mess like picking up just to hang up, sending nasty emails. This dude sounds like a bitchass provocateur because none of that is about Bryn. I'm not familiar with the nitty gritty of their divorce but he has been arraigned on stalking and harassment charges, which the police corroborate. If it's just the two of ya'll {{kanyeshrug}} have at it. If accurate though, Carole's description is only annoying Bethenny, but it's hurting Brynn. If it's true he wants her to stop talking about her only child, he's dumber than it sounds like he is. Honestly, if I'm being asked to assess credibility by and among a former alcoholic, a combative stalker and chick I don't like? <-- I'm with her. Sympathy has a street value to Bethenny. Orphan was part of her brand from the moment she met Jill and got on HW. I am with you, I love your posts and insight. Speaking of I'm with her, I have run into the Clintons! I disagree that Jason is combative stalker. 21 hours ago, ZaldamoWilder said: the article above bases the legitimacy of her medical condition on the fact that Bernadette herself has never had any health problems. Nobody who believes Bernadette has answered this question: what does Bethenny stand to gain from fabricating her childhood? To me the soundbite about heredity is a perfectly appropriate answer to a reporters prompt of "can you imagine what the health issue might be? Is there anything that runs in your family?" Maybe she was just being a bitch, maybe the reporter didn't include full context like what happened with Brenda Walsh When she got hooked up smoking cigs with the tabloid journalist on 90210! :-) Bethenny has more of a following for her brand to gain from sympathy. 18 hours ago, Lemons said: But does it say PH on the elevator button? Not all top floors have a PH for a button. Typically a real penthouse has the whole top floor, maybe their own private elevator. but I agree with bethenny that constantly referring to your apartment as "the penthouse" is pretentious. ITA. I just meant penthouse is accurate I always covet that button I have no business pressing in elevators ! 11 hours ago, bravofan27 said: The show started with Sonya and Luanne defending their relationships and Bethanny poking holes in all their arguments. Agree 1000% . Except 1000% disagree on the comment about pot and alcohol that's TOO far. the last middle apartment line slayed me !! Edited August 25, 2017 by Alonzo Mosely FBI 11 Link to comment

There are many other interviews she has done over the last two years. She called her dumb and lazy when it was announced the Bethenny would be on Shark Tank. Said Bethenny had no real skills with the exception of being able to surround herself with smart people. Said recently that Bethenny was a bad mother. That she let other people raise her daughter. I believe in the same interview she also said she knows nothing about Bethenny and doesn't want to. Said that she would probably cheat on Dennis, and that she cheated on her first husband. Talk like that doesn't come out of the blue. A person just doesn't suddenly morph into being that hateful and cruel. I also find it incomprehensible that folks from these rags are calling her up randomly to get her comments. It sounds like she calls them up and gives them stuff about Bethenny from time to time to keep her own name out there. 19 Link to comment

Personally, I think that she did have some worry about it because the way she talked about the election, it seemed like she was always seeking validation from others that she was right about Clinton being a shoe in to win. I think the rhetoric, polls and springs of communities that were coming out in support of Trump did put her on alert. At the time, I think she was doing her best to convince herself that it was a small but very loud minority speaking up in support of Trump. 12 hours ago, mothmonsterman said: Luann not saying (but letting it be known loud and clear) who she voted for is the final nail in her coffin for me. This, as well as her comment about her ex being upset that she was dating someone Jewish (back when she was with Jacque). Tinsley also sealed her fate with me when she said she didn't vote and it wasn't her thing. Being a part of the decision in the country you live in isn't your thing? The laws and changes that are made by the president don't matter to you? GTFO. I took a long, hard look at her and she is totally out of place with these women. Her totally awful, too young, too frilly clothes, her out-dated extensions, the too blonde fried hair, the way she talks (like an extra out of the movie "Clueless")-she is totally weak and I am not shocked she attached herself to her new guy and is waiting to move into a place with him before she dares live on her damned own and stand on her own two feet. I don't like a lot of these women, but Tinsely is a disgrace to these women, she is weak, old-fashioned, non-stylish, and inarticulate-she doesn't embody a New York woman one damned bit. So the first strike against Luann is something that her ex husband said about Jewish people...when Luann's relationship with a Jewish man was evidence that she didn't feel the same way as her ex? And the final strike is your assumption that Luann voted for Trump. Someone choosing to note divulge who they voted for is not an indirect admission of who they voted for, it is them maintaining their right to the same privacy they were given to vote in secretly and anonymously. For the record, Luann and Bethenny spoke about politics the least on the show - BOTH of them donated to Clinton's campaign. You know who wasn't on the list? Carole and Dorinda - Clinton's two biggest advocates on the show. And there's nothing wrong if people choose to donate to a campaign or not BUT it does prove contrary to your assumption that it isn't always safe to assume. I think that voting isn't Tinsley's thing because she has always lived a life of privilege and doesn't understand how politics can shape the very basics of life such as food, shelter, jobs, etc. That is very unfortunate that her wealth and ability to live freely has not given her an appreciation for what she has and what other don't. I wouldn't say it as harshly but Tinsley does come across as someone who doesn't care about anything beyond what affects her and so her not voting isn't surprising to me. 20 Link to comment

Bethenny would be doing the kindest thing for her mother, which she is under no obligation to do of course, by approaching her shitty childhood in a way that shows compassion for everyone involved, including herself. 1 Link to comment

She's slender with long, slender legs. Of course her voice could slice ice, but that's all I got. I saw her in the same place that I saw Carole about a year ago. But it bothered me that she seemed only amused by the fact that Alexandre De Lesseps would react poorly to his daughter and son's mother dating someone who was Jewish. Maybe, as with everything else Lu presents to the viewers, she chose to soften how she really felt about the Count's bigotry. But then I wonder if this attitude had something to do with Victoria thinking it was okay to use a horrible word. 5 Link to comment
