I didn't think this episode was boring, I prefer this style of showcasing the women's home lives and when they are out and about with one another shopping, among other activities.

 What I didn't like, AT ALL, was seeing the tired snatch tightening, and the trying to be goofy and cute with Vicki nonsense.  Epic fail.

 

What really grinds my gears (good old Peter Griffin style) is the redemption tour of Vicki.  I'm annoyed but not surprised that Bravo/Satan Andy brought her back...It validates her delusional belief that it is "my show!!"  Remember her screeching, if you don't like her, "Get off my show!!" at last seasons reunion?!  If we are stuck with her, and the powers that be insisted on bringing psycho Kelly back, how about freeze them out together?  Why make it easy for Vicki by pairing her with Kelly, Lydia and Peggy?  After what she did, Vicki deserves to be frozen out, not treated as if she's "one of the popular girls?"  Isn't that rewarding a cancer scammer?  I was actually worried Bravo was going to also bring Gretchen & the other Briana Vicki knows, and create a team Vicki.  Well, Bravo did with substitutes for them with Lydia & Peggy.

Y'know,  I forgot a lot about what a dick Simon was. Tamra married him for money and dad-like material while he got a sexy OC Trophy Wife. She got to live in (less exclusive/more middle class) Ladera Ranch. She got all her procedures taken care of. Despite all, it did not go well. The marriage caused MORE pain and dysfunction. Resolved nothing.

She was freaking out about turning 40. (How's 40 looking NOW, Tamra?) They had this ridiculous yacht party with a Rolex watch gift. (I think)

Ryan, already lost and depressed, couldn't or wouldn't hold down a job at Fletcher Jones where Simon got him a job. He did seem to have plenty of money to blow on tattoos.

Simon sniped at Tamra and always had little passive aggressive things to say to her. He seemed VERY conscious of the cameras.

His redeeming aspects: Not wanting the kids exploited. Having a job. Oh wait---he quit or got fired and went into the "lucrative" tequila biz around the end of his time on RHOC.

Tamra STILL has a ton of mental and emotional baggage, but at least she got rid of Simon and got to keep her looks.

I hold that she sold her soul to Bravo.

Simon was a real jerk, for sure. Tamra tried her best but toward the end he became incredibly controlling and he didn't approve of anything she did. He was always pissed at her and always had something to say about what she was doing wrong. Her clothes were too short, her jokes were gross, she was being a bad mom, her friends needed to be gone, her son was a loser. I mean, he seemed to hate everything about her. The first few seasons he was fine, but when he became jealous of Vicki and competitive and made Tamra choose between them, I had to question his intelligence. I don't think he is the smartest guy in the room. Plus, we never heard a thing about his family-- maybe he's estranged from them as well? In any case, he's gross and Eddie is  huge improvement. But I'm glad he's able to be nice and forgive Tamra now, as before he wanted to have a war and it made her very unhappy

It's entirely possible she was much different before fame happened and then fame turned her into a very crass, bad mom, with a son who was/is essentially an unappreciative loser.

Kind of makes me think of a guy who loses a bunch of weight, becomes attractive, and then starts prowling.  Is the wife a controlling dick for wanting him to stop walking around like a hound dog, stop cracking dirty jokes, and start being a better parent?

But was he wrong?  Ha!  He was a bad husband for her and she was a bad wife for him.  She controlled the narrative so I have a hard time deciding which one was worse.  I didn't see him as jealous of Vicki.  I think he thought she was a bad friend and influence.  Both are true.  I also think Tamra is basically awful so to me there are no winners/losers except the kids.

She was a year old and amazingly her brother has no accent.  Shades of Dorit Kemsley RHOBH.  Add to the fact her mother died 26 years ago so I am a little lost as to why she has an accent or doesn't understand what "not getting along" means.  I think she is going for an exotic foreigner milieu.

I'm saying this as a very slim 50 year old, that has had to stay extremely disciplined to keep myself from not gaining weight.  I think women should give each other a break from weight shaming...She knows she blew it, it shows major cajones to show your worst body self on national television...and I think she's been an inspiration to women that it's okay...you can slip up, then reverse this and you can get healthy.  You can lower your body fat to reduce your chances of health issues and it's never too late.  I applaud her.  Also, any man that can't tolerate a 40 lb weight gain in his wife is a jerk.  

 

Oh, and the mistress?  She was overweight by about the same amount...So, theres that...

I think 2, the younger son (maybe 10) and the older daughter (16 or so) both are cute, the daughter in particular looks stunning.

It was such a mean girl move, but clearly no one was laughing with Ms. Mathers.  Instead, they were thinking, here's a woman at the gym working it and someone thinks it would be clever and funny to ridicule and troll her...which was the same as trolling someone's mother/aunt/sweet friend!   Ugh!  Cruel. I'm no Shannon fan, but, labeling people due to their appearance is unhelpful, imo.  A person's character cannot measured by their size nor is it an indication of their character.  I think Shannon provides enough for us to gauge her personality by her demeanor and the way she treats others.  Also, obesity is a complex issue. Health care and mental health care professionals work hard to treat this serious problem.  It is NOT a moral issue.   I don't think anyone could make Shannon feel any worse about her weight gain than she already does, nor do I know why they would want to.

From listening to her talk and seeing her follow up appointment, I'm assuming she had the chest expanders put in at the time of her mastectomy.  

I made the same reference in the episode 2 thread.  It's not actually what Cruella's car looked like, but it is hard to think of anything else while looking at those dumb cars.  Seeing in their garage it looks like they were not lame enough to paint all the cars that way. I don't want to put words in your mouth, but I took it to mean you didn't think it should be this big stigmatizing mark against a person.  

Those black and white cars look like a before and after wax product infomercial.

A close friend went thru breast cancer, had expanders for a bit before surgery also had the best tattoo guy in country tattoo her nipple.

I can not tolerate Kelly Dodd. RHOC is my original Real Housewives, I've watched for years and tolerated some pretty awful "stars." Kelly takes the cake. I fast forward thru all her scenes. If she is in scenes with other ladies I may/may not watch, depending on how much she is on. I am disappointed in Bravo for giving  this mean girl a forum and a paycheck.

I like Peggy. I am a breast cancer survivor as well. I applaud her for being open about her diagnosis and what she is going thru. I'm happy she didn't have to go thru chemo and radiation as I did, but she certainly had aggressive treatment with a bilateral mastectomy and I wish her the best. I think her relationship with her husband comes off as comfortable and loving, and I like her sense of humor.

I feel bad for Shannon, and hope she finds happiness. David must be a jerk to be around with her weight gain, I am not sensing love or support there. The above posts of fat shaming Shannon are nasty and not what this board is about. Its bad enough to have Kelly Dodd on once a week, I don't expect to come to these forums and see someone who gained forty pounds be called a loser and pathetic.

Tamra bemoans divorce as the root of most family problems, yet, learned nothing from her parent's mistakes, and continued to make poor relationship decisions and drag all her kids through divorces. My parents and Grandparents were divorced, and because of that, I knew from a young age that The person I chose to marry had to be for my lifetime( just celebrated 34 years?) 

Being estranged from your own daughter is sheer Hell, but, Tamra must not really mind, as she keeps bringing it up and talking about Sydney on the show. If it had been a matter of changing jobs to bring my daughter back home I would have done it in a nanosecond! 

I think Peggy has some issues, and is not dealing well with the loss of her parents, and her diagnosis of what seems to be breast cancer in situ ( early or like a pre-cancer). She and " Diko " ( wtf kind of name is that) refer to it as "the little thing " they found in her breast. It had to be a difficult decision to have a prophylactic mastectomy but, she seems like she doesn't want to think about her biopsy result, yet, she goes on a realty show, and tells everyone about her surgery. Bravo can suck it for trying to bring another cancer storyline this season.

I apologize for sending you down that path of questioning Tamra's sincerity, I believe what was astounding to many is that Tamra in front of a huge group of people and fro the show laid out her life and battles with depression.  The ex took it to mean she was accusing him of the suicide attempt.  Other questions, she was at the minimum in a locked down psych unit under California H&S Code Section 5150 for 72 hours.  During her speech she also spoke of being sexually active since she was a young teen-maybe 13 or 14 and various other forms of acting out.  I do not believe Simon knew the breadth of her mental illness issues and acting out either due to Tamra concealing them or lack of exploration of the topic.  Tamra was pregnant with Sydney when she and Simon married.  Tamra also said her mother never said she loved her.  This was dispelled by Tamra's brother during her wedding special. SO yep she lies for attention and sympathy.  I can totally see why you questioned Tamra's sincerity.  I believe after she ingested the substances for her suicide she thencalled both her mother and estranged husband ensuring there would emergency medical intervention.  Thank goodness for her they were available.

Dad, a police officer, killed on duty xmas eve when i was 12). I KNEW my grandparents loved me by their behavior, not their words. Tamra is always the poor little victim.  If Tamra was told that she could have her estranged daughter back in her life with a good relationship if she (Tamra) quit Bravo, Tamra would choose Bravo over her daughter.

You are right, we have all had our "horrors of childhood" but do not broadcast them to anyone who will listen or allow them to overtake our lives (if we're lucky). She's working the sympathy angle hard. 

I'm very sorry that you lost your Dad at such a young age but hopefully you are left with some good memories. He died in service to his community and for that you should be proud.

Thanks to all who have said kind things to me regarding my losses when I was a child. However, I had a fantastic childhood wirh my grandparenrs and all I can say is....I'm a very lucky person. I hit the lottery with them! 

I like Eddie but I wonder how he even brings in money if he works at the fitness club that he and Tamra own. She has a Bravo paycheck but I just dont see how Cut Fitness is raking in the bucks. South Orange County Ca is filled with so many health clubs. They're almost as common as Starbucks.

I think it was all the fairy dust talk that might have thrown her off. There's a lot of loud, over-talking with these women. She might have missed Lydia's mom admitting it was mostly just glitter.

I agree that Shannon has low self esteem. Unfortunately, that's something that is often very hard to control. I'm sure Shannon would love to snap her fingers and wake up a super confident woman, but life doesn't work that way. I've struggled with self esteem (and eating disorders) all my life. Shannon knows how much she's gained. She knows she doesn't look great. I hope she has people in her life her are supportive and not so shallow as to run screaming from the room because a heavier woman is just as bad, if not worse, than a serial killer or giant spider.

I think Peggy has some issues, and is not dealing well with the loss of her parents, and her diagnosis of what seems to be breast cancer in situ ( early or like a pre-cancer). She and " Diko " ( wtf kind of name is that) refer to it as "the little thing " they found in her breast. It had to be a difficult decision to have a prophylactic mastectomy but, she seems like she doesn't want to think about her biopsy result, yet, she goes on a realty show, and tells everyone about her surgery. Bravo can suck it for trying to bring another cancer storyline this season.

I've seen this name a couple of times. I think people are forgetting that Diko isn't American. He is from Lebanon which is an Arabic speaking country. There are more Arabic names than just Mohammed and Ahmed.

I think you may be on to something I checked out CUT Fitness website and they only offer 2-3 classes a day.  None taught by Eddie or Tamra.  It would not surprise me if they run out their lease and close down or "sell" it to someone else.  Or maybe they are opening in a new location.
