She was only super skinny in her first season, and the complaining about weight gain every season since! 

This is from 2015  (she said this was 15 pounds overweight at the time - yes I looked it up!) This was before the "vicki made me gain weight" excuse. 

 

This was last seasons reunion - more gaining.

Peggy is obviously only impressed by OTT spending, so Shannon should have told her about the basketball court in the basement of the house she built. I don't think Shannon's weight gain is just about booze.  She's just eating more than she should.  Let's face it.  When you get into middle age your metabolism slows down and then there's the hormone changes.  She also is apparently not working out.  I feel for her and give her a lot of credit to go on national tv and show the weight gain.  

Peggy was kind of weird with the dismissal of Shannon being upset about David beat her.  I'm getting the impression she's not all that bright.  Maybe she'll change my mind.  Kuddos to her husband for saying he loves her no matter what.

It seemed like they were trying to paint Peggy with soft brush strokes, then she went to dinner with Lydia and came off a bit rude to some of Shannon's comments.  

Did they try to make Smelly Dogg look like a decent human being at the start of last season?  I recall that it wasn't long before she started fighting with Shannon.  

Poor Shannon.  That seems to be her storyline for the season.  I felt bad for her that she actually told Kelly about her trails and tribulations.  Why would she think Kelly would respond with kindness?  Has she learned nothing?  Oh wait, this is a "reality" show.  

The only thing interesting about Lydia's magazine is the possibility of it failing.

I think what Peggy was really getting at is if there is nothing going on, why get so upset about it?  Kind of the "doth thou protest too much."  Laugh it off like yeah, right, he beats me.  But I think Shannon is so upset because she either has guilt for calling the cops and exaggerating what happened (and hell as whacky as she was tonight, I could see her doing that) or it really is true that she's getting beat.

I liked Shannon too but it's painful to watch the self-depreciation, blaming, the almost child-like tattling of emotional distress, etc.  She needs meds and couch time with a real doctor.  Who didn't give her approval as a child?

I have no sympathy for Shannon when she tells everyone who looks her way about her weight gain and that she has 40% body fat, then orders a steak and a tall vodka. Let's not forget this is the same Shannon that first season wouldn't get off David's ass every time he put a forkful of food in his mouth. No carbs, no bread, no potatoes!  She knows exactly what she should and should not be eating.

It's an immigrant thing, especially a 2nd or 3rd world nation kind of immigrant thing. My brother was going to this church when he was in graduate school that many of the foreign students also attended. The church had a series of speakers to help the students acclimate to being in the US. One evening they had speakers discussing how to request treatment for mental health issues, trying to reduce the stigma of mental health issues, the differences between American child rearing and discipline, and how not to run afoul of child protective services. One of the audience members asked for examples. The mental health speaker talked about how his daughter was being bullied at school. He discussed how she came to him and said she was depressed and hurting herself. He talked about how the people in his community didn't often seek out treatment mental health. So when she came to him, he yelled at her to stop that and hit her with a switch. She posted something about it on Facebook and someone notified CPS. My parents are immigrants. That story is darkly funny in my community, not so much in Shannon's. 

That's a tip off of how limited and insular Peggy's social circle might be. She seemed to be perplexed that the others wouldn't find it funny. Another example is Heather Thomson from RHoNY.  When she called Aviva a "motherfucker" the rest of the women started acting like she hid razors in her cheeks and shanks in her handbags. It was ridiculous.

I don't know about that.  Vaginal rejuvenation is mostly used to kill time. It's a dumb filler activity that underscores how frivolous the women are. However, psychics are primarily used to stir shit on housewives shows: Allison Dubois, the one on RHoNY who said Dorinda wouldn't marry John, Tyler who said Brooks didn't have cancer, Jackie on Melbourne who implied that Gina's boyfriend might be cheating on her, and the psychic they just had on Southern Charm.

I did not mind Peggy before the dinner, but she did seem a bit rude. I kind of understood what I think she was trying to say about not letting the David hitting Shannon rumors get to her if they are not true. I thought either Peggy was not good at reading a room or some of the conversation got lost in translation. I would like to see what Peggy's reaction is to Vicki's cancer lies. I am still giving Peggy a chance, because there are very few likable people in this franchise for me.

Surrrrreeeee Vicki you trust people too much and they let you down. I hate to remind you that you where complicit in Brookes' cancer lie. So I am pretty sure he could not let you down in that regard, because you participated in it. I really do not know how Tamra let you down when you were spreading rumors about her husband. Could it be that you actually let her down? How about taking responsibility for your role in all that stuff. Oh right, we know that will never happen, because Vicki is always the victim. Vicki you lied about your boyfriend having cancer, frankly Tamra and Shannon not wanting to be friends with you is getting off easy in my opinion.

I think Shannon would be way happier off this show. I would think if Vicki gives her so much stress than why continue to be on a show with her? Tamra was right (it feels weird typing that) telling Shannon that she cannot let Kelly's comments get to her, because Kelly wants a reaction. I hope she has an actual therapist and is not relying on Dr. Moon to help her. I thought watching Shannon last season during the affair aftermath was uncomfortable, watching her now is getting way more uncomfortable and we are only three episodes in.

Lydia feels so embarrassed about the whole display at dinner? Uh Lydia, you set the whole thing up. Did she really think that they were all going to hold hands and sing songs or something? She is like a mean girl that uses her religion to give the impression that she is really a nice, quirky individual. I am not buying it.

Kelly is the worst. TPTB can try to redeem her and Vicki, but it will never work on me.

I do not mind Meghan, but I do not find her terribly interesting to watch. I would say her and Tamra are the least offensive to me. I am giving Peggy a bit more time to settle in before I decide how I feel about her. I never thought I would type "Tamra" and "least offensive" together. What is happening!?

I hope there is another fun episode of RHONY this week to counteract this franchise.

I feel for Shannon.  I hit early menopause, was slim and underweight most of my life and I have struggled with my weight, fatigue and my energy levels since.  It's certainly not for sissies and in the OC, it can be doubly hard because of all these stick insects walking around.  However, she really needs to get herself together and stop verbally exploding.  Dropping the f bomb at a toddler's birthday party is not cool.  Screeching at a restaurant and then throwing a plate of food at someone, even if that someone is a complete douchewaffle, is not cool.  Ignore the douchewaffle. Let her keep drinking and destroying the few brain cells she has left. 

I will give it to Lydia, Peggy and Tamra for not acting shocked when Shannon revealed her weight and body fat.  UNLIKE HER TRAINER.  Shame on that guy.  The constant "Wow!" was driving me nuts.  He should have been telling her "This is day 1. Wait until we look back at these photos, when you're feeling better and are healthier. You won't let yourself get here again."  And certainly not asking how David is taking it.  Maybe that's part of Shannon's problem?  After all, she said she's worried sick he will leave her because of her weight gain.  Jesus.

I like Peggy.  I didn't think I would but she seems like an okay lady.  And I so appreciate her husband, who says she's the sexiest woman in the world, with or without breasts, and she's his soulmate.
