Discussing the charges against Jana is fine, but do not post any information that reveals her address/contact information- even if said documents are public (i.e. a part of court proceedings.)

Discussing charges against Jana is NOT a jumping off point to speculate on other instances abuse/neglect etc towards the M-children or to elaborate on Josh's conviction and potential victims.

She flat out said she didn't like it on the show during a talking head.  Yet, they never explained why she was doing it with her.  WE all kn ow why, right?

I remember her saying she wasn't interested in midwifery but I missed her saying she disliked being a doula. Wow.

That's one of the many things that annoy me about them--they don't even have the courage of their convictions to be honest about why they do the things they do. They're so proud of doing things "a little differently" or whatever, but they can't even admit that JB required that Jill have a chaperone during her "midwifery" "training" and Jana was the one volunteered into that position by taking doula training so she'd have a seemingly legitimate reason to be around. And it's so stupid to keep that secret because a)we already KNOW why and b)it's not like it's that much weirder than their whole courtship model.

Michael Bates said the same thing on instagram (about being Daddy's little girl).  I find it creepy.  You can be a grown woman and love your Dad.  Who wants to be Daddy's little girl forever?  Yuck.

In anyone not a fundy I don’t find it creepy. It’s like when Moms say “not matter how old you get you’ll always be my baby”. Of all of the weird ass shit these people do that doesn’t bother me. Neither does “Mommy/Daddy”- I’m 33 and as far from fundy as you can get and my mother is still “Mommy” or “maternal unit” when I’m being snarky.

So agree with this! My dad was my guy until the day he died. And I had been married over 20 years at that point! I didn’t call myself daddy’s girl, or hope to be supported, but we just got each other. And I know women who are bffs forever with their mothers. My cousins forever said mommy and daddy. The difference is we aren’t living at home with absolutely no future anywhere else but what Jim Bob rules. Can you just imagine when he dies and the girls still don’t have a headship?!!

Other than Jana, Jim Bob is marrying the girls off at a faster clip than the boys. I think it's more like "Can you just imagine when he dies, and Jana is still running the TTH and the boys are still sitting around waiting to be told what to do?"

Unless the Duggars are close personal friends with Chip and Joanna (and I don't think they are) it's kinda sad and a little creepy the way they idolize the Gaines. The Duggars are like Fixer Upper groupies.

They really aren't allowed a whole lot of choices, are they?  Their family and like-minded friends.  It's pitiable.

Chip and Joanna aren't stupid; love 'em or hate 'em, they've built an empire on a carefully-crafted image and they have nothing at all to gain by allowing the Duggars to grab onto their coattails. For all the times the Duggars have visited Magnolia Farms, have they ever actually met Chip and Joanna or been photographed with them? Judging by the name tag Joanna's mother is wearing in the photo with Jana, she seems to be some sort of official hostess/greeter at Magnolia. She probably makes polite conversation and poses for pictures with everyone who visits (and they get busloads of visitors every day). She may not have even realized who Jana was.

Being totally devoid of a sense of irony, the Duggars probably can't see that they're idolizing and chasing after the Gainses in exactly the same way that Jill Rodrigues idolizes and chases after them (and with just about as much success).

Fundy classism. There isn't an ism they don't love is there?

I agree about the Duggar's limited choices but how like minded are the Gaines really?

Joanna is a pants wearing college educated businesswoman who works outside the home and gives her husband orders. She wore a defrauding strapless gown for her own wedding (yes it's very sad that I know this) and aligned her business with Target which is the modern day Sodom/Gomorrah to anti-LGBT christians   Yes the Gaines self identify as evangelical christians but they seem worlds away from the Duggar's brand of gothard fundyism. I don't get it.

Back to the thread topic, yes Jana's hair color is nice.

I think it's that fine line of following their own beliefs but allowing others to follow their own. The Gaines may believe as the Duggars do and are as biased as the Duggars, but not to the point they won't serve the LGBTQ community or go and picket Planned Parenthood, etc. I'm not defending the Gaines - just giving my opinion of what I see.

Or...  the Gaines are selling their souls.

In the flowers picture that's a filter making the flowers look fake. So they probably aren't silk/dried.

Maybe, but they also pretty much look like varieties which ARE often used for dried flowers, so they may be a work in progress if not already dried. I can see Jana getting into that sort of craft. I do actually think it's quite a pretty picture in any case.

I don't know what it is about this photo & the quote but it just makes me sad, maybe because I feel like there’s no hope for her. Eventually she’ll be married off and it highly likely to be with someone she’s doesn’t even like ( because she’s older) then she’ll be birthing babies for a few years she might not have 10+ kids but that’s what she’s taught all her worth is.

I really think Jana is going to head down the Fixer Upper lane. She's been showing off her remodeling and designs she helps with. I don't think she will help people redo their houses but more of like a DIY business or something.

She’s not particularly good at it though, just average.

Since Jana has never been employed, where does this money come from that she "shops" with? We also don't know WHO ELSE accompanied them on this jaunt. Perhaps a brother had to travel with them for accountability and 'protection'. No real time to herself without 'eyes' watching her. We will never know.

So true. I think there was an episode way back showing Josh and Anna on vacation with the first 3 kids. They were in an RV. Apparently someone spotted a photo shortly after and Jana was there. She was never shown during the episode though, so it appeared the only adults on the trip were Josh and Anna.

We do know the Duggars mess with timelines and other truths when filming and posting photos.

It happened again a few seasons back on CO where Benessa and the kids visit the Vuolos in Laredo for the first time. Turns out Jana and Laura tagged along for that trip because a fan posted a group picture of all of them. They were never in the episode and they made it look like Ben and Jessa had such a difficult time traveling with the kids when all along Jana and Laura were there to help out.

It really sucks if, Jana, a 30 year old woman and her 32 year old friend can't travel without a stupid accountability partner keeping an eye on her. If they still think Jana will stray then they know their stupid training doesn't work.

The accountability thing seems to be so ingrained into them that I don't know it's so much that they are not trusted to do anything without the accountability partner, but that they themselves are afraid of what might happen without one. They are raised to believe they are sinners by nature, and that sinning is an inevitable by-product of being human. So the accountability partner is seen as a sort of safety net.

Of course, it seems just as likely that two fallible humans might just as easily find the courage to do something untoward together than one might do alone, but since that little fact doesn't fit into their philosophy it just gets ignored.

I guess it's more about being trained to tattle on each other as well, so the tattler gets rewarded, the sinner gets shamed, and no one ever gets to really trust each other. But that's ok, because Jesus. 😢

Whether Jana is happy or not is something I don't think we'll ever know.  She's stuck between a rock and hell.  If she revolts from the family, she'll be shunned, which might not be a bad thing after all.  If she stays, well, we know what will happen.  I cannot fathom what her current life is like.  At 29 years old, I had been married for 6 years, made 3 moves (one out-of-state), and owned my home for two years.  At that point, I was a SAHW, and if I hadn't miscarried our only pregnancy, I would have been baking our baby.  I just hope for her sake that Jana is happy.

There's a cheesy commercial that used to be played that had a quote about how the world equally distributes talent, but it does not equally distribute opportunity.  These kids were robbed of so much by their narcissistic parents.  Education, true & pure love, and the simple chance of being individuals.

It's an ad, she tagged Called to Surf. Looked at their IG and the dress actually looks better on Jana than the model.

That is hard to imagine as I think it looks dreadful on Jana. I don't mind the bell sleeve but the gathered skirt is awful and the way the fabric is sort of standing away from her body makes me think the fabric is coarse. No bueno.

I like the idea of the dress for fall or winter, but not for the end of June in Arkansas.   That dress looks heavy.  If I wore that on the summer I would be glistening (Southern Lady Code for sweating).

I'm sorry but between the dress, ugly sandals and hairstyle Jana looks a cult member caught in a 70's time warp.

It is funny how they’re starting to mix in with the new wannabe hippie crowd. My ultra liberal, lesbian sister-in-law has a clothing business - fancy, expensive, baggy, hippie looking, LA style clothes. Lots of long dresses, long hair. The Duggar gals are getting close to the style (only on the cheap side). If they only had a clue.
