UsernameFatigue June 8, 2017 Share June 8, 2017 (edited) I agree with those who have said Dorinda is an amazing hostess. However that is sober Dorinda. I would love to have seen drunk Dorinda take on Sonja wearing her dead husband's gift to her. Though that would have caused drunk Dorinda even more pain, so maybe not. I was taken aback at how Dorinda looked in the pic with Jill in 2011, but then remembered that that is the year Richard died. So either she was taking care of a dying husband, or was a newly widowed woman. She may have had some work done since then, but she really looked grief stricken more than anything. I wonder if she was regretting throwing Ramona that huge surprise birthday party just a few weeks before. And Ramona thinks she is a good friend. Yikes - she has surpassed Vicki of RHOC as the most delusional HW I watch. Twice now Tom has said that he likes Ramona, (at least twice that I remember) and both times it has pissed Lu off. And ya, what is that all about - referring to Tom's dalliance at the Regent as an affair? Which makes me think he slept with the woman, and likely more than once. No one, least of all Lu, is going to call that an affair unless these was more to it that we know. She also looked very uncomfortable at the thought of Tom being footloose and fancy free the night before the wedding. As she should be. I get the impression that Tom is trying way too hard to be "above it all", in one sentence he is saying Ramona is "nice"-something never before being attributed to her-and moments later he is delivering an account of how Ramona is calling his friends. Sometimes it is okay just to say nothing about a person. My guess is Tom does not want to give Ramona a reason to go off on him in public. 3 Link to comment

The reason I thought it was interesting is that the first time was when the audience was introduced to Tom at a dinner last season when he and Lu were newly dating. Ramona's name came up, and he defended her then as well saying that he liked Ramona. That annoyed Lu then as well. So for whatever reason he seems to have a soft spot for her, even with what she has been doing/saying about he and Lu. Edited June 8, 2017 by UsernameFatigue 4 Link to comment

Oh -- maybe that was what Dorinda meant by "make the bed." As opposed to leaving it a total mess...which would be Ramina's default behavior, I imagine. Entitled wretch. I usually strip the bed, gather whatever trash I create, tie up the trash bag and leave the room tidy (ask if the host wants me to put the linens/towels anywhere special). UsernameFatigue June 8, 2017 Share June 8, 2017 (edited) I wonder with Bravo bringing in Jill a few times this season they are floating bringing her back if Bethenny doesn't return. With her new show with Fredrick, plus Shark Tank, I don't know if Bethenny will return? Regarding sheets, I usually ask my hostess what she would prefer. Personally when I have guests, unless I plan on doing laundry the day they leave (and usually after guests I have too many other things to attend to) I prefer than they make the bed and I get around to laundering the sheets when I can. I hate having the sheets sitting in the laundry basket staring at me everytime I pass the laundry room saying "Wash me now!". Edited to add- I would be fine with Jill returning, if only to see Bobby now and again. What a gem that man is. Edited June 8, 2017 by UsernameFatigue 7 Link to comment

Ki-in June 8, 2017 Share June 8, 2017 (edited) While people are split over their feelings for Jill, it seems that most everyone likes Bobby. I do wish him well in his cancer battle. I was only a casual watcher so I only saw bits and pieces with Jill (only the clip of the skating scene-oy) but what I most remember is her grilling boring Cindy Barshop over CB's twins, were they her eggs, whose sperm, did she use a surrogate, damn she was nosy. I saw Jill on a celebrity wife swap and if it was even a fraction of what her actual life is then she is a most desperate fame whore. She's rich, has a loving family and entertains non-stop yet she wants to put her life out there to be dissected and ridiculed especially after getting the cold shoulder on Scary Island. I understand some of the other women who need the money but I don't think she does. I am neutral on her return and felt that it was way too hyped up. I thought it was funny though when she almost stuck the straw up her nose. Forgot to add: they remind me of those couples where you LOVE one partner but can't stand the other. My bff was told by some friends to not bring her husband around anymore because no one liked him. At that point neither did she so she was happy to oblige. It always sounded to me like the house came on the heels of Mario's father dying. I have a hard time believing a thirtysomething, childless woman would plop down bucks for a huge summer house. If Ramona was even going to the Hamptons in her thirties she would want to be where the action is-not stuck out in South Hampton in a rambler. My mistake - I remember Ramona saying she bought the South Hampton house with her own money in an interview and I thought it was before she was married, There's this: RadarOnline recently reported that the duo had been fighting over their real estate and a source said 'Ramona earned all the money that bought both homes,' The insider added: 'the home she bought in Southampton, she bought with premarital funds of her own.' I don't know if they use generators to light the set aka Dorinda's house, but I guess it's possible Ramona just couldn't unplug the lighting depending on the set-up.. 3 Link to comment

Although she is right that Bethanny grew up privileged and definitely seems ungrateful for all that she had, instead focusing on how awful her childhood was. The place Carole showed Tinsley was pretty hideous. But it's who lives there, not what the place looks like I guess. Adam seemed like a really tall toddler at the house, playing and fiddling with toys and not really adding to any conversation or being interesting. I was a big Bethenny fan when she was duking it out with Jill. Now my attitude has changed as I realize they are both horrible just in different ways. I do think Jill would bring a lot back to the show. They need to rethink the line up and expand it a little. Even if she was just a friend of the show to start. She can be a sniper from the side. Luann could use the support. It would be interesting to see how the rest of them would line up. 7 Link to comment

Ramona is completely unhinged and needs to get a job or some kind of project/charity to work on. She got a sudden and grave case of empty-nest syndrome when her beloved daughter left home, followed by her husband in the worst possible way. She's obviously not adjusted well, especially to the divorce. I also don't blame Bethenny for leaving. She spent several hours there, it was clear that Ramona was going to keep up her nonsense. They were not spending the next day at Dorinda's. Everyone kind of grabbed something to eat on her own and then left, so why not go home and sleep in your own bed. And yes, she was very curt with the worker, but as someone who is currently dealing with a crew of daft interns, I feel her pain, and sometimes you can't help being a tiny bit rude. The Carole artwork was really cool. If I were her I'd want one to hang in the bedroom or private bathroom under glass. Don't need to see more of Jill AT ALL, ever again. Her statement about Tinsley knowing better than to ask that someone open the door and accept a package (heaven forbid!) because her mother taught her better manners was so passive aggressive. I'd like to know what Sonja's mother told her about rifling through someone's lingerie and wearing their clothing without asking permission. I felt so awful for Dorinda after Sonja used her lingerie that had sentimental value to her and then Ramona abused her lovely home. I think one of the reasons she didn't get really confrontational about it was because she was so hurt and upset. She probably didn't want to lose it in front of the cameras. Then via the psychological sadism of Jason and his mom. And, just last year, at the proverbial hands of Jules's hair. Now, suddenly, the worst thing that's ever been said to her are the ramblings of a drunken coworker? Which, to emphasize the point, didn't even include any of the epithets, bigotry, and racist undertones that Bethenny herself has deployed over the past couple of years. Exaggerations and hyperboles are fine and make me laugh, but when people make the hyperbole about THEMSELVES and how THEIR lives/struggles are the 'worst ever' then I'm sorry but it DOESN'T make me laugh and it just makes everyone not take you seriously. I know some people think their struggles are the worst ever and think they feel things so much deeper than others, but honestly, now that I'm an adult I realize I can't really be around people like that and I don't have to. One of my friends has a sort of catchphrase that sticks with me. "You don't know what another person is going through in their life." And it's just simply put, true.... It's the reason that all of the kids except for Nicky have had drug and law enforcement issues. Nicky is the only kid in that family who doesn't have a mugshot. Or from Ladies of London, the 10th Earl of Sandwich molested a number of boys including one of his sons. That house must have been a nightmare for this son despite their title and wealth. Excellent post, you know your stuff! Do you know where tinsley ended up? I was surprised she was looking at rentals, I thought she was buying an apartment. If she really wanted a new start she would change her look. She is the youngest one on the show but she has the most dated look. 4 Link to comment

I did like Jill saying, she had to admit she missed it, she missed the gossip. We know Jill, we know. No, it took her a year to apologize... She might have known she was wrong. She just didn't see the need to apologize till cameras were running. I just don't understand why people keep saying this. Beth apologized not long after it happened. It is always so interesting the way a narrative gets going and just keeps at it even when there is video evidence of the opposite. At the time folks didn't like the apology, now it has changed to just not happening at all. 13 Link to comment
Ki-in June 8, 2017 Share June 8, 2017 Re Bethenny and Ramona's childhood trauma: Whether one is rich or poor as a child you are helpless and at the mercy of adults. But once you are an adult get a grip and get therapy and don't take it out on others. I remember telling my kids that no matter what the reason, unacceptable behavior is unacceptable, act like a civilized person and not a barbarian. I can't help but read all of the ladies' quotes like the guys from the Watch What Crappens podcast. Anyone else? I'm sorry okaaaay? 6 Link to comment

She apologized to Lu in the kitchen and Lu accepted her apology. It gets forgotten because the argument had two parts. After the apology for the whore deal, they got into it again. One thing to remember, Beth is getting shit about waiting to apologize, but Beth waiting to do it on camera helps Luann... and Beth overall than a tweet, blurb, etc. ever would Edited June 8, 2017 by sheetmoss 1 Link to comment

I know some people think their struggles are the worst ever and think they feel things so much deeper than others, but honestly, now that I'm an adult I realize I can't really be around people like that and I don't have to. One of my friends has a sort of catchphrase that sticks with me. "You don't know what someone else is going through in their life." And it's just simply put, true.... I have a hard time standing anyone who makes it seem like their drama is so much worse than others'. It's not even that I want to disagree, or argue, or compete, and I don't even have anything against Bethanny. I just can't be around it. A co-worker and I were talking about some drama in our lives and she told me that when I was perplexed or couldn't figure out how to deal with a person that I should, "try to put yourself into their shoes..." ----- I heard the funniest line on the tube this morning. Some political pundit was commenting on the story-of-the-day and he mentioned the shit that some of the participants were spewing. He said something to the effect that people 'didn't taste the words that came out of their mouths'. I don't think that any of the haus ho's have an appetite for any sort of reasonable exchange? 6 Link to comment

It didn't take a whole year for her to realize that. Bethenny never said "I am sorry for what I said you, that I attacked you" until this season. Acknowledging that she crossed a line is not apologizing. 13 Link to comment

I have one of her books from the 80's : Linda Mason's Sun Sign Makeovers. Her art did look like the kind of stuff you find in a hair salon? The stock art you buy to put up in your business to set a 'mood'. 3 Link to comment

Drunk Dorinda is my spirit animal ;) 3 Link to comment

I feel like this is pretty much the personification of the notion that money doesn't buy happiness. Bethenny grew up in a dysfunctional, chaotic, violent household where she was told that she was unwanted (confirmed by step dad and multiplied by abandonment by her bio dad)...but they had money! Therefore, Bethenny should be fine? She should be "grateful"? It's like when someone grows up in poverty but has a stable, loving, supportive family and becomes successful. They key is the family, not the financials. This is why I was so bothered by Ramona saying that. She grew up with dysfunction in her house as well, abuse if I recall. Abuse can happen across all income levels. Why has she got it in her head that B had such an amazing upbringing just because of money? 9 Link to comment
Ki-in June 8, 2017 Share June 8, 2017 (edited) Remind me to never play poker with Dorinda. The way she kept her cool and the grace under fire she endured between Sonja in her sentimental pj's and Ramona wrecking her room was truly amazing. It doesn't matter who pays for the repairs, the fact that the room needed any must have been heartbreaking. And someone wearing clothes without permission, especially ones that meant something is kind of a violation. Edited June 8, 2017 by Ki-in 11 Link to comment
zoeysmom June 8, 2017 Share June 8, 2017 Bethenny didn't apologize to Luann in the Berkshires, she apologized for Luann causing her to look bad. In her blogs she simply said Luann is resilient and a survivor. It was Luann that apologized to Bethenny at Ramona's holiday party for the Skinnygirl comments. Nor has Bethenny ever apologized for being a slut shamer. She is just Bethenny and no one else's feelings matter unless one of her enemies make a crack at her friend of the moment and she can expand on the moment. It wasn't until near the end of the Reunion after she had had a couple of more name calling goes at Luann the almight Bethenny declared-"we need to stop doing this." Bethenny literally turned her talk show into a bash Luann show for most of the episodes last year so any apology would be insincere. Bethenny hasn't stopped and her threats of never speaking to someone again are becoming pretty empty. She has so far said she will not speak to Luann, Ramona and Sonja-she keeps talking not only to them but about them. I thought Ramona acted like a total idiot. I do believe Bethenny should have stated why Ramona has not been a good friend. I detested the way Ramona used the sick friend card. Ramona showed up because there were cameras at Bethenny's. Bethenny was then able to use Ramona's "concern" as yet another battering ram on Luann. I agreed with Luann's approach-"when are you going to the doctor?" "Oh, tomorrow, good luck." No one wanted to hear Bethenny's graphic description of her fibroids. Dorinda and Carole were the ones nice enough to accompany Bethenny to the doctor and listen. Ramona only cared about where she would be able to wear her new bathing suits. 14 Link to comment

phoenix780 June 8, 2017 Share June 8, 2017 I think Ramona just became the person I want to watch most. All the layers of hurt and jealousy, combined with the delusional self-involvement...she's a comparatively complex character. I couldn't believe her reaction to Dorinda bringing up damage to the house. Last year she let her dog crap everywhere, and even if she figured production would pay it surprised me to see how dismissive she was when the she caused damage again. I think I'm generally more team Bethenny in their argument. But, I also believe that if you don't want shit to come up on TV don't go on TV. I guess they both kind of suck in this situation. I wish there was more of the art show. And production should keep rolling after Bethenny leaves. I feel cheated out of the drunk Sonja part. 4 Link to comment

But seriously, if you have to unzip a garment bag then you probably should not help yourself to the garment. I was wondering about the scene that had Dorinda going through her wardrobe racks and unzipping all the garment bags. Do you think she was checking to see if something else was 'borrowed'? I mean Ramona was in the house. 7 Link to comment

I worked in motels when I was in jr high/high school and some habits never die. I never leave a motel/hotel room without doing the same (and tossing in a tip). I would never strip the bed in a hotel because it's creepy enough sleeping on those sheets--I don't want to know what's underneath them. 9 Link to comment

THen what? She calls 911. The cops come and she is sent to Foster home or worst? I feel like those who like her, say that money means nothing and then take that wealth for granted, were never poor and in abusive situations. Now that is true hell. In any case, she is pushing fifty, she has to forgive her parents somehow, if she hopes to find peace and raise her daughter in a responsible and kind way. I envy Lulu's family. She had loving parents. Bryn is being raised with money, so I guess she'll be fine? 4 Link to comment
