LOL. It's so funny how this works! I've gone on a few dates with a guy who lives up the 270 corridor in Maryland. I live in DC. When he first told me where he lives, I said, "You live all the way out there?!" It's almost an hour by car (if traffic isn't a bear), and dammit if I'm not spoiled by living in the city.

All this to say--Dorinda is not my favorite by a long shot, but if she's not trying to travel all the way to Queens, I can't blame her. If John's work and play is largely in Manhattan, then it makes sense if he stays in the city more often than not. Also, good on them for not having him on the show as often. It was a mistake to begin with. I think they assumed that  because their bickering or whatever was cute to them, it would go over well on TV. They thought.

Not sure how B meant it but I took it as they were parents and she was not so their lives were vastly different.  I am sure had she spoken with them she would have found SOMETHING in common but that seemed more off the cuff to me about parenthood vs non parenthood.

Dorinda has said in an interview she goes by Madam Paulette's every day.  Lucky John and the crew.  She said in the same interview she was going to be limiting John's screen time as it takes away from hers.  I don't mind John, and if he wants to call Queens home because his family lives there, well good for him. 

My favorite exchange last year at the Reunion, after Sonja basically told Dorinda, she had know John for x number of years and he was rough around the edges and the conversation later devolved into the Sonja calling John a dry cleaner and Dorinda calling Sonja a hostess.  I cannot think of any with much less class than Sonja Morgan.  From her various exposure of private parts to use of bidets as face washers to her tacky Grey Gardens townhouse.  Sonja is going to flip her lid with Bethenny and Frederik doing a real estate show.  Sonja's biggest issue is her townhouse is upside down financially.  They paid close to $10 million and Frederik-much to Sonja's chagrin valued it at $7 million tops.  She had to finance it to get out of her fraud judgment.

I read Carole's blog and I disagree with her statement of wanting a friend like Barbara K.

I do not believe BK did not know that the mic was "live".

She wanted to block the scene from airing to protect her "brand" It had nothing to do with any concern she had over her friend Luanne. She was being a gossipy bitch and came across as the total asshole that she is. 

There is some talk that there is also a phone conversation, so I guess she'll call Carole again to make snotty comments about Luann's wedding.

mmmmmm too ethnic.  I'm trying, but I can't.  Michael was ethnic, I'm sure there've been other men but nobody's springing to mind.  It almost makes me sad to say because I hate to see him singled out, but the guy just doesn't fit.  He's handsy and sexual and a close talker and sweats, a lot.  I mean he also looks like a bunch of fun and is pretty easy going, will take his lumps if he deserves em and can wrangle a drunken Dorinda, so he has his plusses.  But if too Queens means he's unpolished then I have to agree with you and I have to agree with them, but not because of geography.

Bethenny's grating voice was particularly annoying in this ep.  Charity whore?  Not falling down chortling from Bethenny's lame attempts at humor.  Even her Moaner impression felt forced & was meh.  Leave the Moaner impressions to Amy Phillips, Bethenny, cuz yours sucks.

Another reminder I NEVER want to go to Beautique.  But I can imagine their ads -- THE place for granny to find the paid escort (aged 18 to 20) of her dreams.

If Lu wants to marry another philandering cheater, that's her choice.  I don't give a fuck.  Ah, but these broads gotta have something to cluck about, so Lu is giving that to 'em on a platter -- & giving herself a storyline to stay on the show.

Btw, wtf was with that jacket Lu was wearing?  Looked like something my grandma wore in 1956.  What is with Lu's taste this season?  There was that fugly prairie dress a few eps ago & now this hideously dated jacket.  And she was going so nuts over that really ugly Givenchy bag.  But then again, there was a whole lotta ugly in that shit up for bidding.  Was that due to Dorinda's crap taste?  And of course there was SG.  Bethenny had to get a plug in for her crapola.  Ugh.

I really think she's happy to be in her little whirlwind romance and to HER it is a whirlwind romance.

The excuse that she was being rude or deliberately baiting or imposing to the others regarding Tom and that's why they are being so cruel to her now doesn't really fit.

Sure she is annoying but I don't think it was by intent. I think she just has a whimsical way about her. She covets the majestic fancy of it all and expresses it. I don't think she has a specific agenda when she does this.  I think she over does it cause she wants people to believe she's happy but I don't think it cause she wants to lord it over anyone.

The more forced mask has come about AFTER all the negativity that has plagued her pairing with Tom but to start I think she was lost in her own moment. Over did it with the glee but I always saw it as her just being ridiculously optimistic and wishful and believing in love aka Jennifer Hudson Sex in the City. Corny as hell but not malicious.

And if monogamy is not an absolute necessity for EITHER of them then the "transition" is moot. Just sayin'

You are absolutely right. But love is blind. Love is deaf. John should run as fast as he can to get away from Dorinda. I know the popular theory is that low class fat outer borough ethnic guy is dragging down the wonderful Dorinda but I submit that it is exactly the opposite. John is in love and he is willing to put up with abuse. He swallows the vile bile that spews from Dorinda when she is drunk. Which seems to be once an episode. He is a fool but he is a fool in love.

The episode did record Zoeysmom but with the title "TBA". I rebooted the Tivo and it still says TBA for tomorrow and also again on Wed when it should air just before episode 8. It is just doing that on Episode 7 the others all say RHoNY.    Odd.

Bethenny couldn't abide Simon and Alex and the proto-hipster parents that were at that party. They were part of the beginning of the continuing assault that destroyed the fabric of so many formerly solid neighborhoods. The Italian Salumeria and the Puerto Rican Restaurant that sold the cuchifritos has to give way to the pretentious coffee shop and the place that sells seven hundred different kinds of Olive Oil. The Met Food is gone to be replaced by the Whole Foods where everything costs four times as much. Bethenny is supposed to be a marketing genius but she missed the whole thing. Those Moms were who she should have been marketing too all the time. You see them at the outside cafe with their monster baby carriage and dog attached. They might have kids but they are not giving up partying. 

The elitists on the Upper East Side are as insular as the Cargo Cults of the South Pacific. It's a joke really. They trumpet political correctness but when they meet somebody darker than Edgar Winter they give them their coat to hang up or tell them to clean their room. They are disgusting people each and everyone of them.

Why can't Bravo get some Real Housewives. Not these menopausal morons without a clue between them. Yeesh.

I agree with this.  The UES is really a tiny area in Manhattan.  The funny thing is that most of the UES, the area east of Park Avenue, was a working class neighborhood, until the L train disappeared.   Now the rents on all these walk ups are going up because of the Q train.  And speaking of the subway, most people in NYC take the subway, no matter how much money they have, it's the quickest way to get around.  

A better NYC show was "Blood, Sweat and Heels" because they showed different neighborhoods in NYC, not just the UES and the West Village.

You know, I'm really torn about the ageist remarks.  Well, actually, I'm not at all -- I don't like them & never have.  My feeling is if older women still wanna have fun & date guys of any age -- they should absolutely be applauded!  We see (all the fucking time) old men with women decades younger (see Sonja & old man Morgan).  But the desperation on Moaner (& Tinsley too) was just all kinds of blech & ick to watch.  So the ageist remarks are particular to these broads & NOT to older women in general.  That, I'm fine & dandy with.

The weirdest thing about the show now is how it doesn't reflect New York at all.  It really doesn't.  We see the tight closeups of Sonja's townhouse, but why don't they ever show the whole block, which I walk down every day to get to the subway?  It's such a super pretty block.  And yeah, when Carole first started on the show, she rolled her eyes & said in a TH that EVERYONE in NYC takes the subway, when Lu & Sonja looked ridiculously horrified at the thought of doing so.  And you can be sure Bethenny did too (take the subway) not so long ago.  

Bethenny said when the show started she could barely afford a cab.  Her riding around now in a limo all the time merely makes her look cutoff from the city, rather than being engaged in it.  Is this who Bethenny is now?  This is who she wants to be?  I just stood next to Kevin Bacon & Kyra Sedgwick on the subway the other day & that's just one example.  Anyone who lives in the city knows that everyone takes the subway.  We may hate it, but we take it cuz it's dependably quick.  But people who don't live here wouldn't know that from watching this show.  And why not at least show Soho (where Bethenny lives), which is a chaotic & always bustling neighborhood?

There's a lot the show could do to reflect the city & yet it just doesn't.  Anyone notice what Bethenny said about the crowd at the auction?  That it was a "motley" group?  Uh, wasn't this the most diverse group we've seen in a really long time?  Sorry, but this is just not New York -- even on the Upper East Side, where I live.  Gotta say, that party finally gives me an excuse to rant on this ridiculous lack of diversity.  And if the producers give the excuse how the Upper East Side is not diverse, I would counter that is utter bullshit.  The producers are completely lazy, unimaginative & just downright out of touch in this respect.  I have the same reaction when I watch Southern Charm & never see a person of color anywhere in sight.  I mean, seriously, what the fuckety fuck?

The HWs acting like jerks doesn't really have any effect on whether the men are seen/perceived as jerks. I mean, so what if the HWs are assholes? That doesn't make the men in their lives any less of assholes themselves.

You could just as easily say "I don't get all of the Bethenney/Luann/Carole/Sonja/Ramona/insert name of HW I feel is being unfairly maligned on these boards/etc hate.

Can anyone from NYC confirm if this is still so?  Brooklyn has come a long way since I lived in NYC so maybe the Bridge and Tunnel crowd isn't as second tier as it was 20 years ago.

My SIL, who is an incredible/petty Manhattanite snob tolerates Brooklyn (some area) but would rather die and/or live in a shoe box than entertaining living in Queens...
