There is a lot of money to be made with running. Obviously Derick will never win race money by coming in first (world-class runners like Mo Farah are the ones who make big bucks by placing 1st, 2nd, 3rd in races around the world). But I follow a bunch of runner instagrams and some of them make a good amount of coin for schlepping shoes, energy gels, socks, diet plans, etc., etc. Derick already has a built-in following, he clearly enjoys running, and it's a fairly easy way to make a buck. I'm surprised more of the Duggars haven't tapped into the Instagram ad potential. 3 Link to comment

She posted a video of the kids playing at a Focus On the Family play area. Sammy's getting around and trying super hard but he is still not really crawling. Naturally, all kids develop differently. I just remember my own belly crawling at 4 to 5 months and hands and knees crawling by 6 months. One walked without falling by 9 months. My kid was a total anomaly. Rolled everywhere by 11 months, utterly uninterested in getting up on things, kind of crawled but not very well, and just before she turned SIXTEEN FREAKING MONTHS the kid had pulled up to stand, took her first steps--SIX of them--and was off and running. She was all about the fine motor skills and watching everyone, couldn't care less about gross motor skills. We did Gymboree and everything, I even had 0-3 testing done to see if she qualified for services, I was trying not to freak out because she seemed normal in every other way. She is now, at 16, as normal as most of us claim to be. :P 9 hours ago, Loves2Dance said: He has finished with a time of 4:16:37.56 That is really not bad. Popular Post Lunera April 15, 2018 Popular Post Share April 15, 2018 Dillard Family Update: Quote Colorado Missions Trip Update Apr 14, 2018 | Family Blog | 0 We had a wonderful Missions trip to Colorado with our church as part of Derick’s School of Ministry training. We caravanned with a group of about 20 people from Northwest Arkansas and drove all day till we arrived in Colorado Springs, CO. The goal of the trip was to come alongside and help a couple from our church who have recently started a new church (The Bridge Fellowship) in Colorado Springs. Since Israel was going to be turning three the week we were there, we decided to bring the whole family along, even if that meant that, with the little ones in tow, we wouldn’t get to participate all together in every outreach opportunity. Jill and the boys stayed at the hotel some and were able to get together with some family friends part of the time too. The boys ended up starting the trip out with coughs and colds, and by the end, our whole little family had it! Thankfully, everyone seems to be getting better now. As part of our role in helping the “church plant” in community outreach, we volunteered at a food pantry, to help organize food. We also put together meals and delivered them to the homeless in multiple locations, helped the pastor and his wife with some projects, passed out doughnuts and coffee to local businesses and schools, passed out pizzas to police and fire stations and military bases, handed out dog treats at dog parks, and picked up trash. We really wanted to show the community that, in representing “The Bridge Fellowship” we wanted to serve and love Colorado Springs, with no strings attached. On Sunday we helped with set up and tear down for the church service and worked alongside the church staff. Derick was even able to lead one man in giving his life to Christ! What a joy! We were excited to have a little bit of time amidst the busy schedule to visit Pike’s Peak, Focus on the Family, and soak up the beautiful Colorado scenery! Thank you to everyone who has supported and prayed for us! We are so grateful. Seriously, they drove all the way to Colorado to volunteer at a food pantry and feed the homeless? Why not show the love to your own city and volunteer every weekend at their local homeless shelter or food bank, or does it only count when you're paying to do it. BTW, that's also something I did in high school for community service hours, like painting a school. Derick is making me look like quite the humanitarian. 45 Link to comment
Lunera April 15, 2018 Share April 15, 2018 Also, Jill said that they celebrated Izzy's birthday early because Derick was going away, so why did she and the kids tag along if it meant she and Derick could not participate in certain activities because of them. 10 Link to comment

bigskygirl April 15, 2018 Share April 15, 2018 Ugh!!! Why did they need to capitalize Mission in the first sentence. No string attached to serving people. Bull crap!!! I bet they were trying to get people to turn to the lord while serving them. If the kids were sick before traveling, why the heck did Jill not stay at home with them instead of spreading their germs around. And Derick was able to get one person to give his life to the lord. I bet the guy went along with what Derelict said to get him to leave him alone and went back to sinning after they left Colorado. Link to comment

Google mapping from Fayetteville, AK to Colorado Springs is 11:30 hours, then add 2 small kids. The fact that she dragged 2 unwell small kids on a long car trip makes me want to slap her senseless. Add in the factors that she has now exposed the rest of the caravan as well as everyone along the route and at the hotel to the illness, since it seems Jill and Derelick came down with it as well by the time they returned home, and I want to take away their car keys. Add to it that now that we know the kids were sick and she had Izzy walk an hour for effing Chick'fil'a - I'm taking away her gift cards for restaurants and fast food. GeeGolly April 15, 2018 Share April 15, 2018 Can Jill really not be alone for more than a couple of hours? Is Jill wanting to go on these missioncations because she is unwilling to let Derick have all the 'fun' while she stays home with the kids. Does Derick feel so out of place with the college kids that he brings Jill along for security? Are they actually chaperoning each other to make sure neither strays? It's the same way with Jessa and Ben, it just appears more normal because neither Ben or Jessa 'work'. I wonder if Jinger and Jeremy operate the same way? JB once said that if he needs to leave the house without Michelle he would always take a couple of kids along for accountability. Maybe once Izzy and Sam (and Spurge & Henry) are old enough to be snitches they'll be able to function separately. 15 Link to comment

Thank you to everyone who has supported and prayed for us! We are so grateful. Some random thoughts on this trip. First, it sounds like a college alternative spring break service project the son of a friend of mine did, minus the Focus on Family and the church plant parts. Second, honestly, I'd be terrified if a "caravan" from "Derick's School of Ministry" was planning to cross into my town. I'd want reinforcements sent in. Third, Colorado Springs is full of churches I assume are passing out donuts and coffee, and dog treats, so why do the troops from Arkansas need to invade? Fourth, it must have been boring for Jilly to sit in a cheap hotel room with cranky kids with altitude sickness and colds. I could feel bad for her, but I don't. Fifth, when anyone says "no strings attached," you can be sure there are. 26 Link to comment

Marshmallow Mollie April 15, 2018 Share April 15, 2018 (edited) They drove as part of a caravan with a three year old and a nursing baby? I do not understand how that could possibly work. Hopefully Israel isn’t potty trained yet because I don’t know how you keep a nursing baby on anyone else’s schedule much less a potty trained toddler. ETA I am currently on a road trip with my twin four year olds and it drives me BANANAS how much longer everything takes yet traveling with them now is so much easier than it was when they were younger. Come to think it, if they drove, they should have been loaded down with snacks which makes the hour long walk to CFA that much weirder. Maybe Jill felt bad the kids were cooped up in the car so she thought the nice long walk would be a good idea? Edited April 15, 2018 by Marshmallow Mollie 10 Link to comment

Given that he seems to be a natural runner, he may encourage Jill to take them on extended treks wherever she can. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing in and of itself, but given that they were both at least in the first stages of coming down with a cold and at a completely unfamiliar altitude, maybe a bit of case-by-case caution might have been warranted. I feel as though Jill just follows Dreck's basic preferences without any consideration for possible changes in circumstance. Edited April 16, 2018 by Jynnan tonnix 6 Link to comment
Barb23 April 16, 2018 Share April 16, 2018 I can see Derelict driving their car to whatever place the group was missioning at leaving Jill to walk with the kids. I'm sure he could have gotten a ride with someone from the group, leaving the car for Jill, but I definitely see him as the type of person who insists on doing the driving. I know it's a control thing. This still doesn't excuse Jill for taking her sick kids out. Like others have said, she could have had something delivered or she or Derelict could have driven to Chik-fil-a & brought something back before he left. It will be interesting to see where they will be living if they have to move out of their apartment. I don't see them moving into the TTH or one of JB's properties. Jill and Derick are desperate to maintain some kind of audience for the next time they want to solicit donations. 2. Jill and Derick miss being filmed by TLC, so they are making their own videos to show on YouTube. 3. All the happy home life pictures and videos, and the marathon for an actual cause make me suspicious of his ulterior motives. In addition, he's cut down on his angry tweeting.. I may be completely wrong, but I think he's trying to clean up his image so that he's more likeable, and better suited for an actual job, or maybe, another tv show. The Duggars don't do anything without a motive, maybe JB threatened him to get his act together . 25 Link to comment
