To be fair to Jill I thought she was kind of implying that her friend getting a nose piercing was like a big deal, so Jill wanted to be there for moral support. I kind of get that. It was a big deal for Jill to cut her hair, so I'm sure it's a big deal for her friend to get a nose piercing. 

Also Jill seems to be one of the only mask wearers in her family so ...

I don't know, I think the only person I'd have up in my face during a pandemic is a dentist, eye doctor or medical doctor. I'd pass on a nose ring until after a global health crisis. Maybe that's just me.

Sometimes it is the little things that you need at times like this. It wouldn't be my first choice, but I will admit to buying some cute t-shirts in the last month.

Ugh. I dated someone who I eventually learned was a fundamentalist Christian. He covered it up pretty well when we first started dating but I didn't fully realize it until after I had broken up with him (for being a narcissistic asshole). I went to church with him one time (and one time only) and I was horrified when the born again pastor was up there talking about sex addiction and porn addiction and the mens' support group during his regular sermon. The first thing I thought was omg there are children present and second you are talking about men who are sitting in front of you in your congregation with their families right now and you're deliberately shaming them!  What the F*CK!!

But anyway, in relation to the counseling discussion, he was in counseling for his abusive family past and grief and he alluded to possible sexual abuse as a child. He went to and would only consider seeing a faith based counselor. She was licensed but based on what he told me about their sessions, I think the reason he was so hell bent on going to her was she told him what he wanted to hear. God will love you no matter how big of a narcissistic asshole you are, so go forth and be an asshole, you are forgiven.

I can't fault Jill for trying to educate her children in a way that she never was and would have benefitted from. And it's complete bullshit that Pest was allowed to get away with what he did. Kudos to her for doing things "differently" 🙂

Deertick is basically speaking the truth without all the flowery Christian mumbo-jumbo that is usually used to explain early marriages.   

Now I have never been to law school, but if you are doing clinical intern work, is it normal to refer to them as your "Law Partners"?  He makes it sound like he's one of several lawyers working at a firm.

I thought the law partners was a joke about his kids? I work from home part-time and always joke about my dog being my supervisor and see a lot of other people making the same joke about their kids and pets.

Jill grew up that sex was evil except when you're married, plus being molested and basically blamed while having to live with her abuser. She probably has had a very hard time relaxing and enjoying intimate time. The bedroom games are a fun way to train your mind that sexual pleasure is not evil.

The way she sucked Derick's fingers during their reception, and how physically affectionate they were immediately after they were married, makes me think Jill had zero problems in that department. She was pretty open about how she wouldn't wait to have sex leading up to her wedding.

People's sex lives are pretty impossible to guess based on appearances, I know, but off the top of my head, the only fundies that looked not okay after their honeymoons were Lauren and Erin Bates.

Physical affection does not always equal comfort with sexual expression. Two very different animals. Jill was starved of physical affection all her life until her marriage. Seems she's getting comfortable with sexual intimacy and its great that she can.
