Jessa, Ben and Their Brood: Making a (Diaper) Mountain out of a Mold House

The Duggars post about politics on social media frequently, but these social media posts are not an invitation to discuss politics here in this forum. This rule extends to Duggar adjacent families, friends, associates etc. Such discussions are a violation of the Politics Policy.

I understand with recent current events there may be a desire to discuss certain social media postings of those in the Duggar realm as they relate to politics- this is not the place for those discussions. If you believe someone has violated forum rules, report them, do not respond or engage.

Henry looks like he's been crying.

Is that a sneak peek at Jessa's new décor? A white chair in a house with four young kids? Jessa can't keep sheets clean, never mind the way those kids snack no matter where they are - I have no hope for that chair.

We all should send the Seewalds bags of Cheetos, Oreos and M & Ms. 😇😉

I think Henry looks like he just woke up.

I thought JinJer would suit Ben better, but heaven forbid JinJer getting married before "hot girl" Jessa.

Only, Ben didn't want Jinger; he wanted "the hot Duggar girl." Came across an old 19 Kids and Counting episode where the Duggars had a yard/garage/rummage sale.  Was shocked to see a then unknown Ben moving some items in the tent where Jessa was working.

That rummage sale was at the very beginning of their courtship. It was the first time they were seen together in public.

Why isn't she packing? Aren't they supposed to be moving any day?

I think she's procrastinating. The move date is getting close, and she really hates change, and she's just collecting the "witticisms" or her very ordinary children rather than focusing on the actual task at hand.

She'll stand there and direct the Howlers to pack, lift, move and unload.  Giving forceful orders to others is Jessa's specialty.

Jessa thinks she is the smartest one and the “hottest” one but neither are true, imo.

Does Jessa even understand that "smart" and "hot" are two totally different things?  One wonders.

I want to say there can't be a worse name than Spurgeon, but I don't want them taking that as a challenge.

Whenever I hear the name Spurgeon, I think of something a fish would excrete at the bottom of the sea.

A sturgeon excretes spurgeon.  I always think of sturgeons when I see his name.

The transcripts came out today for the sisters' lawsuit and there was a lot about the attempts to serve Jim Bob with a subpoena. He was being subpoenaed by the defendants.

Multiple attempts were made, one of which had Jessa turning away the server.  The server made contact at the main house and Jessa told her to leave her card and go away.

Jim Bob strenuously avoided being served, even fleeing the state.  They tried for several months and he kept evading the subpoena.  There was a total of 15 hours spent trying to serve Jim Bob the subpoena, i.e. monitoring the residence for several hours, contacting JB's attorney, visiting Duggar-owned businesses, etc.  The server said there were about 15 cars at the main residence at all times and no one cooperated.

Fleeing the state, how pathetic. Boob, I thought you were all about law and order.

True. Even if the "girls" had won, they would have had to fork over a substantial percentage of their haul to Boob.

By "a substantial percentage," I assume you mean "all." Jill and Derick might have gotten their share without threatening to go back to court, but the rest would be deposited directly into "Duggar Enterprises."

In a partial summary of the depositions, Jinger and Jill talk about being hit with a switch. However, Jessa paints an idyllic childhood story, although she admitted that Boob had a temper. I didn't see what Joy said about being "corrected."

Jessa will die on the reservation.

I think this may be Jessa's personality, but I also think she may have just seized a moment.

When Jessa and Ben were "courting" she was full of rebelious zeal -- talking about eloping and posting all kinds of non-Gothard religious screeds on social media.

About the time of Josh scandal #1, Josh had lost his halo, JD and Jana were unmarried (and JD was being openly mocked by JB because of that), Jill was moving out of the country, Jinger was "courting" someone her father didn't really like, and Josiah appears to have taken up permanent residence in the dog house. I think Jessa may have realized that she could move up in the pecking order and become a most-favored child. That could account for her coming home to roost and maintaining such a strong allegiance to the TTH.

Did anyone see Jessa’s quick post on Instagram? It looked like a screenshot of someone else’s post and I’m scratching my head wondering what? It was one of those busy mom type posts but nothing to connect it to the Seewalds. Maybe there was more and I missed it 🤷🏼‍♀️

She reposted that from an Instagram account she probably follows.

At least that's gramatically correct, unlike JinJer's book title that ignores adverbs.

Poor Rhianna.  She's a fabulously famous singer with limitless resources, and also managed to make the same mistake.  "Shine bright like a diamond" is one of her song lyrics.

But something tells me none of them are too worried about such rigid grammatical correctness.  Selling music, selling books.  They're all making money regardless.

Money that Jessa and her man-baby will never see or earn.  But they do have that self-righteous attitude that JB seems to love.

I don’t think knowing the simple difference between adjectives and adverbs is particularly “rigid.” And Jeremy was in a masters degree program at the time “they” wrote the book, so  it stands out to me. 🤷‍♀️

Sorry, I've been trying to hold my tongue on the Duggalos thread, but I can't keep quiet any more. Bright can be an adverb. Yes, I know, I was taught that same rigid adjective/adverb rule approximately 45 years ago, but language and usage patterns change.

Exactly.

Plus, literary language -- and even academic literary critics -- have smiled at using "Bright" in the adverb way for hundreds and hundreds of years. And, whatever we think of the Vuolos, their kids' book intends to be a literary book.

(The carol that starts "The moon shines bright, the stars give a light a little before 'tis day" may go back as far as the 16th century and has been showing up in anthologies ever since, for example)

I do wish Jer-knew that the "grammatically correct" way is "brightly."  After all, his graduate degree and his manner of preaching are supposedly grounded in the parsing and analysis of texts so he can "teach" parishioners what god REALLY means in the bible. .... But I imagine that ship sailed about 30 years ago when Jer probably decided he had zero interest in academics but a lot in standing up in front of people being admired and listened to....

That aside, though, I don't think his book title is wrong.

Plus, would anybody who knew stuff like that and cared about it EVER marry a Duggar, even Jingle? I doubt it.

Jessa hasn't done a regular post in a while. I'm guessing they have moved, or soon will be and Ivy's birthday is the day after the sentence hearing. Is the radio silence due to the upcoming sentence hearing? Will Jessa post Ivy's birthday week? Or maybe Jessa has given up SM like it seems Joy has?

I'd be kind of shocked if Jessa gave up posting on SM though.

  • Love 6

Jessa dumped all those Sayings of Seewalds posts at once awhile back, maybe she meant to spread them out but goofed up the attempt. We will probably see Ivy’s birthday week at least 2-3 weeks later as well as the big move. Jessa really doesn’t know how to maximize her social media potential.

I’m surprised Ben didn’t post anything on Mother’s Day about what a great mom Jessa is and how wonderful Michelle is for raising such a godly daughter 🙄 also his mom for raising him.

I’m surprised at all the Duggars actually none of them posted anything about Mechelle or their wives for Mother’s Day (other than Abbies pregnancy announcement) it’s not like they can’t delete the bad comments. I guess Joshs court case has really messed them up huh.

I think they worry about the tabloids picking up their posts too and when they do they always mention Josh. I think your right, they're laying low until sentencing.

FF will be mentioned in every article about the Duggars for the next 15 years (I hope).  Even wedding announcements of his siblings.  He has really made lasting memories for everyone in his family.

And there are some amongst the public who wonder if some of them still tacitly support Josh (I’m one of them). Anna is out there crying about conspiracy theories and Josh being persecuted for his beliefs by heathens, and his siblings haven’t done that (although Justin’s thumbs up at the trial and reports of Jed! taking FF’s phone calls from jail seem supportive of him, imo), but they also haven’t made strong statements to the contrary. Jessa’s statement  conflating adult porn with CP makes me think she truly doesn’t grasp the depravity of what he’s done, despite being one of his victims. Jeremy and Jinger’s post was better, but I feel like they made it in large part because that’s what they knew they had to say to protect their image among the general public. Their beliefs are also misogynistic and hateful, but they want to continue hiding them because they know they’re afraid of the backlash from heathens and “mainstream” media. Behind closed doors, they still support church and other leaders who have been accused of/ committed similar acts of sexual abuse. Jason, Jed!, Jana, James etc haven’t said anything IIRC, and I’m not sure they don’t also buy into some of the conspiracy and persecution nonsense. Like Jinjer, they just know they need to appear one way in the media to avoid the heathen backlash.

Jed may have taken his phone calls just because Josh is his brother.  I have not a clue how I would react if my brother did something that horrible but I don't think I would refuse to speak with him. I would make sure he was never alone with a child and strongly urge him to get consoling and I don't think I would go out if state to visit him in prison but I would take his calls.
