Wow...I can't even...Is there no other possible virtue or compliment in their world aside from Godliness? Nothing else a person needs ever to look for, appreciate, or aspire to? Is that the only blasted adjective in their vocabulary? How do their brains not leak out of their ears and make a run for freedom? Or has this happened already? I wish I could shake some actual human feeling and emotion into her, because what I'm seeing there can't be it!

That's pretty much the answer to every question we ever ask about them, seems to me.

Personally I think something's been leaking out of the landfill all these years.

There has been such a change in her since Joshgate 2.0.  It's sad.  She used to be so full of excitement and fun.  Now, not so much.  Its like she not only drank the Duggarade once that happened, she took a bath in it. I truly hope that Jeremy can bring back the "old" Jinger.  But somehow I think she is lost now.

That birthday video is from a woman about to marry this guy... the only thing she seems to know about him is that he "knows God." If I didn't know anything about them, I'd guess that this was some arranged marriage where they won't meet till the altar.

Thanks to those who watched the vid. I'll have to wait for a moment that my headship isn't around to behold it for myself.  Can we just get to this wedding and get these two laid, already?

We need something to save us from this excruciating banality that is the Duggars. I'm not sure how much of this season I'd be able to stomach. I can deal with an occasional SVE, but I just can't endure months of watching Jinger morph into the perfect Gothard wife, headship gaze and all.

I liked they actually did most of their courting away from the cameras and didn't make it public until they were serious, but please don't bullshit us about "the fast track", when this has been cooking for nearly a year.

Oh my word. That was a birthday video for her betrothed?   It was impersonal and the only thing she talked about was how Godly or loving God he was.  There was nothing that showed she knew anything about Jeremy. She could have mentioned all the God things, and then said, I like being with you, you make me laugh...  Take out the parts where they're spending their lives together and she could be saying Happy Birthday to any preacher.

Well, since most of what comes out of her parents' mouthed is a load of horse puckey, it must be learned behavior.  Add to that the lack of proper socialization, where body language and communication skills would have been taught, and you'll see another way the Parents of the Year shortchanged their kids.

I always thought good Christans didn't tell lies...but maybe there's an escape clause for Special Snowflakes.

Not entirely true. It depends. This technique is used by police investigators/interviewers (I took a class as part of a social services job), but first you have to establish baseline. Ask them questions they have to think about but that would require no motive for lying - such as reciting the alphabet backwards or their zipcode in reverse. See which way their eyes glance as they access the information in their brain (as well as other body language). Then start asking questions where they might have a motive for lying and see if it changes.

in light of their having flown under the radar for awhile, and not tweeting constantly or establishing registries for the fans, etc., I am choosing to believe that Jinger kept this message kind of generic on purpose, in the interest of privacy. I want this to be true. 

Honestly, to me it sounds like they saw quite a lot of each other before deciding to court. I have the impression that they actually know each other pretty well. Call me Pollyanna.

Have to wonder if she says all those things because MEchelle is in the room with her? We all know how krazy MEchelle acts when the girls are courting so Jinger keeps it simple and says the right words so she can keep the engagement going. Sad that she has picked the first guy to come along because she has no other options.

I don't have the wherewithal to actually watch all of it, but did anyone slow it down to see if she was blinking in Morse Code?  Seriously, these videos are to the point where they look like proof-of-life in hostage situations.

Thanks for saying what we have all been thinking. Cut to the chase and let the wedding bells ring already! It's not like they have a whole lotta planning to do once the church is picked. We know Jinger has her dress let's get this show on the road!

I think that's true if you're right-handed. As a fellow lefty like Jinge, I also look off to the left when I'm trying to gather my thoughts. Now, if I look off to the RIGHT.... :D

It looks like he is thinking "Do they remember me?".  The purpose is to show that Jinger is still busy at 'work' flipping cars, even though she is planning a wedding.  Duggars can multi-task, too.

I was thinking the exact same thing!  She's in love with this guy?  It doesn't show.  Kind of like - well you like God and all and that's nice so you must be the one I was praying for and now that I'm about to marry you I have to do the eyebrow thing like Jill and act a little like Jessa and speak like my mother.

Now that you mention it I think that's a very good possible explanation.  Maybe she's paralyzed just knowing her parents will eventually see this footage.  Wouldn't want to act too enthusiastic, especially carnally.

One has to imagine he's fighting with Dairy Queen and TLC's production group about when Joshley Madison will make his triumphant return to the airwaves.

One also has to wonder when the kidults are going to start demanding their fair share of the TLC cash as well.

Just read the re-caps of the latest show.  Apparently Jinger is a piece of property without any autonomy so her brothers don't want to 'hand her over' to just anybody.  How loving.  Ben and JB are apparently in charge of maintaining her virginity and Jeremy comes up with 'good answers'.  That about sums it up.

I don't know if you watch Bringing Up Bates, but there was an episode prior to Michael's wedding where the older brothers were testing out Brandon. When asked why they were giving him a hard time, they responded that since Michael is the best, they had to make sure Brandon was the best because that's what she deserved. Far cry from talking about "handing" your sister over like she's a piece of livestock.

Gil and Kelly Bates are college educated, where they were at least taught respect for both genders,unlike uneducated Boob, who makes it up as he goes along.

The Bateseses do everything a little differently from the Duggars.

If you watch the show "Braindead", you can see brains leaking out of their ears as a distinct possibility.  

I don't watch the show, but love this forum.  Does does this Jeremy guy do anything but hang around the TTH, courting all the livelong day, every day?  I know he's a preacher, but is he actually working, other than filming?  And does he get paid for it?  

IMHO-TLC filming does not count as a real job.  The lazy ass Sister Wives talk about working but they don't do anything other than film as far as I can see.  Five mortgages, 19 kids (I think).  Sorry about the off topic comment.

Jeremy works for a church plant in Laredo, TX.  The church plant has a home church in San Antonio with multiple pastors and deacons listed as employees.  He SHOULD be paid through the home church, probably around $25k-$30k/year, but we don't know the specifics.  It's possible he qualifies for health insurance based on how the home church is structured.  He also would have made some money playing soccer, but we don't know how financially prudent he is.

We have no clue what Jeremy made playing soccer. He was in Finland for four years, which couldn't have paid much; the Finns are not known as a soccer country by any stretch. He only spent one year with the New York Red Bulls, but I don't think he played much. MLS doesn't pay nearly as well as other pro sports; I imagine he made league minimum. Then he went on to play for the San Antonio Scoripions in a minor league. He couldn't have made much there, either. What I'm saying is that I doubt he's got any cash squirrled away. 

This is the reason I think KJB is going to set Jeremy up with a church in NWA, maybe even working with Jeremy's home church to plant there. He has plenty of residential property for JinJer to live rent-free, saving the church that expense. They may start out in Laredo, but I really don't see them staying there long.

Jeremy's still showing up in YouTube videos for his church as of the beginning of September.  They've also made a big deal on the show about him traveling back and forth to Laredo.

Usually full time pastors will spend 10-15 hours a week studying the bible and writing their sermons for the next week.  I'm guessing most of his texting/calling/FaceTime during the day is during that time.  He and Jinger are probably discussing scripture that will find its way into the sermon.  Then other times he would be running youth sessions, visiting members at home, hosting bible study, possibly visiting patients in the hospital/hospice, handling adminstrative church stuff, etc.  From the looks of his church on social media, there's less then 50 members currently so he probably does have some free time to visit Jinger without disrupting his work too much.  Also the home church may encourage the visits as "media relations" especially since it sounds like he's close to leadership (that Conway guy from previous article is the main pastor of the home church IIRC).

Just more proof of Duggar truth-twisting. Jeremy DID seem to want to quit soccer to focus on ministry after the disastrous season with the Red Bulls, but he ended up playing again until the team folded, FORCING his retirement. At that point, he seems to have gotten his foot in the door with this Conway guy, so he basically just had a new job to fall back on once his soccer career was over. But no, he didn't quit soccer. Soccer quit him.
