Johnny Mac's school is supposed to be an augmentation to homeschooling, not take the place of it. They have the kids for 14 hours a week, and it's suggested that the parents homeschool another 16.

Wow! I missed that the hybrid program was for K-8. I thought it was for preschool-K. Well, it seems Jinger might get a better primary & secondary education than any of her siblings, even if it starts 20-some years after she turned 5.

I say go for it if they can get their kids a free education. Not that different from the Dillard boys getting free swimming lessons.

No arguments there! Despite my general eye rolling towards a life of grifting, I'm relieved when it ends up providing the kids (I'm including the Rod kids here) skills, knowledge or a chance at a better future. I guess my two issues are 1) this JMac hybrid style program that's being discussed just cements my belief that Jer and Jing have affiliated themselves with a Gothard-esque group in a shinier package. I'm concerned that Felicity and Evie may end up with a similar-ahem- quality education as their plant theologian cousins (assuming this is the way J+J go, which is just speculation at this point). 2) I don't like the vibe I get from Jeremy that all of the people in his life (most importantly his wife and children) are mostly accessories to prove his radness rather than humans with needs. Educational choices should come down to setting up the girls to make their way in the world as independent adults. If he can do that for a reduced price, fine, but I worry that it's going to be more about getting likes on the 'gram (and likes from his bosses).

This is all based on speculation anyway.

I don't get the vibe that Jeremy makes decisions based on IG or public opinion, that IMO describes Derick. I do get the vibe that J&J like nice things and likely think they're way cooler than they are though.

Yeah, they found some Christian (of course) guy who up cycles tee-shirts. He made Jinger some monstrosity with a giant teddy bear that she said Felicity would think was Paddington. Nothing to see here. 🙄

Just checked the YouTube video. It only has 13k views in 2 days. So, it looks like this is yet another failed venture.

eta By comparison, Joy has 7.6k in 3 hours on a Sunday. 😂

I enjoyed Joy's video and watched the entire thing.  She's has a good spirit and is unpretenious.  Jessa and Jinger could take lessons from her, but I'm sure they won't.

To recap: They get fueled up for a day of shopping and sewing with free food at the highest rated yelp restaurant in the country, which Jinger called next level. Aspiring designer, Chi.QC, enjoyed his food while Jinger, Jeremy and some guy they didn't bother to introduce the audience to engaged in a hard to follow conversation involving yelp reviews and Michelin stars that apparently was amusing in some way. Then they headed over to grab some t-shirts for the craft project. On the way out of the t-shirt store, Jinger and Jeremy spent several minutes discussing these invisible children the audience has no connection to. Then over to Chi's place where Jinger spaced out as he explained his mood board. Various parts of t-shirts are sewn together, Jinger pretends to love it and then proceeds to walk away in a shirt that has giant hands on the back and a big bear on the side. They linked Chi's info and he only has about 1000 subscribers and low view counts. J&J did a good deed by trying to help out this nice young man with questionable talent. Keyword with them, as always: Trying.

Thank you for the recap.

I think I’m going to call them next level and rad homie. Example

next level and rad homie went to buy rad pens at the mall.

As you've probably guessed from my name, I skate a lot. Specifically, hockey. Last week, a new guy joined one of the leagues I'm in, and the name on the back of his jersey was "BOOKS". I automatically thought "Jeremy? Plays hockey?" Never mind that I'm about 3000 miles away from California - when I saw "BOOKS", that was the first thing that popped into my head!

Did he call you homie? If not, you're probably safe. 😂

Thank you for the recap, will not give them any clicks.  Can you please mention the Yelp highest-rated restaurant to satisfy my curiosity?  I googled the phrase and came up with 10 in LA.

I love Porto's.  They did the wedding cakes for two of my offspring.  They've also done some birthday cakes for the grandchildren.  I had some items last month as they were doing a fundraiser with the grandkids' school.  Everything we've had there has been delicious.

But really Porto's is the highest rated restaurant in the country on Yelp?  Is that what they were saying?  It's good, but not *that* good.  Take me to Din Tai Fung or several other places first.

I "googled" and didn't find a reference to Porto's having the highest yelp rating in the country so who knows what Jeremy was seeing.

They really need to move so we aren't going the same places.

ETA:  I had to go back to 2016.  Porto's apparently topped the Yelp 100 best restaurants that year.

Someone in the Bates thread posted that Bates Sisters Boutique sent Jinger some free clothes. I’m going to look for the video.

ETA: it’s in her IG stories. There were 5 or 6 random pieces and Jinger said “ ‘mazing, so fun” in a sad-sack voice. Baby can be heard in the background.

I have no problem buying new shoes for a child even if they would only wear them for a couple of months and I would not mind paying good money for them if they are supportive. Good shoes are important no mater what your age.

Yeah but all these people care about it the brand - good shoes is not the criticism here.

There are lots of brand new shoes that don’t cost $70.

They have a new YouTube video tour of their house.

Pretty boring. Evy (or however they spell it) still sleeps in baby bed in their room. She wakes up at night and they don't want her waking up Felicity. I bet Jinger wished her mom would have been that concerned about her and the other sister moms' sleep. They have guest pretty often, his parents try to visit every couple of months.  It was pretty neat and clean.

How long have they been in that house?  I can't believe they are still in the freebie house.

I watched that house tour video. Did anyone else notice the enormous rack of shoes that was in an alcove to the left of the kitchen behind the stairs? I could not believe the rows and rows of shoes. These people are obsessed with footwear. Their finances do not add up, still. They should have been ashamed of themselves making a video tour of "their house". It is NOT their house, it's their landlord's house...that McArthur guy ? Earlier I posted that they needed to move out of the free house and give someone else a chance that really could use it. They are advantage takers, vain, shallow, and squatters IMO after all this time living there. "Jinger's Kitchen"??? Really, don't play with us, Jeremy. With all of the eating out that these two have posted of themselves, Jinger's obvious lack of culinary skills, I highly doubt that she does much cooking at all in that kitchen. Pouring a bowl of Captain Crunch for Feliciteeeee isn't cooking. Grubbers.

They’re everything you said, plus they’re as boring as skim milk. 😴
