Tiffany features Cary's couture closet on her web series; Brandi deals with fallout stemming from an incident at a male strip club; LeeAnn invites Stephanie and Cary to lunch to address Brandi's behavior at the tea party.

LeeAnn is really silly and pathetic.  That entire conversation at the cafe was stupid and juvenile, then she had the nerve to march off in a huff.  Damn, she is thick.  Surely she knows that those society folks don't care whether she exists or not.  Her boyfriend is not monied and she is not monied, so she is just 1 level above the folks that work the events.  While I personally don't want to be in the same room with someone wearing a poop hat, Brandi did nothing to affect the community standing of the other women.  They are all standing at the lower end of the social ladder.

I see you Bravo.  Dallas got the same etiquette template as Potomac.

Why on earth did Stephanie and Brandi allow their children in that jeep?  Just hitting the curb seemed like it would cause someone to come out of the jeep and land hard on the pavement.  These women don't have any common sense.

Did anyone ask Mark for his fashion commentary?  He was way too involved in the conversation between Cary and Tiffany.  LOL, I needed Nene to make a cameo in this scene so she could tell Mark to stay out of women's bidness.

If Brandi's husband was dancing with a stripper the way she was dancing with a stripper, she would have hit the roof.  Girl, you earned the dog house.  I got the feeling that all is not well in their world.  They seem more like roommates than a married couple.  She does not seem like she has much to do either.

LeeAnn means bow as in fight.

http://www.bravotv.com/the-real-housewives-of-dallas/season-1/blogs/bow-at-me-what-exactly-did-leeanne-mean-an-rhod-phrase

I did not think society ladies talk about bowing at someone.  I learn something new every day.

Aren't the other women potential donors to these charities?  As in, actually giving money to support the charity, which is the whole purpose of all these events LeeAnn is so torqued up about?  Do you think the people in charge of these charities want non-donor LeeAnn trying to intimidate them and their checkbooks into not attending because they don't pass her stringent evaluation?

LeeAnn is a nutcase!  I cringe whenever she goes on her little tirades.  She's really making a fool of herself.  I feel secondhand embarrassment for her and I don't even like her.

I think I might have written at least the first paragraph of that Bravo article because that is straight up what happened in my house. The only difference is when i rewound I made my boyfriend stop typing an email to pay attention to tell me that I wasn't going crazy and she was saying "bow" at them like it was something everyone should know.

I want to know what happened to the little red head girl in the back of the kids car they left with four and came back with three!

Leanne completely lost me this episode. One I realized that the her issue with blush wasn't just going over the top to to match her hat and two when the other women were like these events aren't high society, chill. She then told them she was high society, not to bow at her, cussed them out and flounced.

I have spent some time in Dallas and I am pretty certain the main gift for a high society teen is not a pair of birkenstocks, so sit down Leeanne.

When Tiffany said that whenever Leanne introduces her to her high-society friends, they raise an eyebrow or look at her weird (I can't remember exactly what she said, but it was along those lines) I cringed.  No, they don't look at you like that because you're thin and pretty with a hot husband, they look at you like that because Leanne probably dissed you in some way to them, and/or told them one of your embarrassing secrets that you confided to her, to insure you're never fully accepted and will always be strapped to her boots.

I had a BFF for 15 years who did just that to me.  I could never understand why new people she introduced me to were weird or condescending toward me.  I finally found out that she'd been bad-mouthing and making things up about me since Middle School when we became best friends.  I see a lot of her in Leanne.

As for Brandi and her husband, I'm betting they divorce within the next 5 years.  They've been together since 8th grade, and it's pretty apparent that Brandi never really grew up and wants to play around with other men (and women) like she's 20 and single, which I'm assuming she never got to experience.

Finally, something about Cary and her husband really bug me, but I can't put my finger on it yet.

I wish a guy would buy me dresses. LOL, but I think Cary's husband is silently wishing he could wear them himself, in spite of her claiming "he's just metrosexual."

Leeann, your carnyness is showing!! I've never heard "bow up at me" before and I have lived in the south my entire life. That phrase alone puts her in trashy society, not high society. She's trying too hard to impress, and she's going about it all wrong. She can't stop screaming "CHARITY!!!!" yet she has no idea what a true, high-dollar charity fund-raiser is like because she's never been to one. She couldn't afford to go to $100,000 per plate fund-raiser.

Brandi is losing me. I thought she was funny in the first episode, didn't care for her poopy talk, and now she's sliding into the "my husband doesn't spend enough time with me" territory.

I fell asleep.  I missed almost every single minute of it.  Judging sadness.

Brandi has a hard hard hard look. She looks feral.

I am still bothered by the one who wore pink to the Mad Hatter thing.  The hat had a blue band and her dress was pink.  It didn't look very cohesive. Stephanie.  I like the hat, just not the color combo.  Same with Cary's.

How does LeeAnne make money to live?

If her parent(s) owned a carnival she may have more $$$$ tucked away than she's letting on.  If folks know she's rich, she would be expected to pay for her own hat(s), and actually donate money rather than just volunteer.  It's quite southern to cry poor.

Some of those folks in the traveling vendor business make a ton of money in one weekend.  And they all cry poor.
"Business is terrible. I'm not making ANY money this weekend.  Do you have 1,000 singles I can buy for change?"

If they make this entire season and cast friction about fake shit on someone's hat, they've hit a new low with this franchise. I keep thinking that surely they would had to have had some good footage for a TV show otherwise why go ahead with the release?

I will say, Cary's husband made me laugh when he took over her closet segment. He really does know his fashion - he was on top of all of the outfits talking about designers, prints, etc. Cary's commentary about her husband was also funny. It's the only scene so far this season where I wasn't thinking 'this is stupid'.

Well, Brandi is a bit of a trainwreck, no? I'm beginning to think half of this poop talk and childish behavior is a ploy for attention. She seems very lonely and disconnected from her husband. That sucks and all, but I do not agree that she did nothing wrong at the strip club. It wasn't like she got a no-touch lap dance, or maybe slapped an ass as a dude went by. She was straight up gyrating on that stripper, and he was grabbing her ass in a very intimate way. If they didn't have clothes on, babies could have been made, y'all! Obviously every marriage has their own parameters, but given her husband's reaction, I don't think this is something he would ever have been cool with, and she should have known that.

Also, please put your dog down in the kitchen!!!

No matter how much Tiffany tries to sell it, I'll never believe that Keith Suburban had some big record deal in LA, but chose to come to Dallas for her. If he was a big deal, they would have stayed there - not come to Dallas so she can film her friends' closets for some blog. No, my guess is that he was really struggling there and they thought in Dallas it would be more of a "Big Fish in a Little Pond" type of situation.

Can Cary get through one episode without disparaging who her husband used to be? It's become quite obvious that she was looking for a rich, successful man that she could mold into whatever she wanted. If he was fine with that, then whatever. But quit reminding everyone of what a schlub he used to be. It's not like you and your two prior marriages came into the relationship all perfect.

LeeAnne is tiresome. I am so over her harping on the rules of society and charity events. She is not nearly as important as she thinks she is.

Well Brandi's relationship really took a 180 turn didn't it.  I figured we would have one break-up/divorce out of this show but wasn't really expecting it to be them but it appears that's on the horizon....

I almost feel bad for her because her husband is essentially choosing money over his family.

But during the whole stripper scene I was thinking "is her husband going to be ok with this when it airs......?" and then turns out we find out a few minutes later that he is, indeed not ok with it lol

And did we ever learn why Brandi knew the owner of the strip club?

Because it can't be said be said enough, zip it LeeAnne.

I'm finding I dislike Cary the most, and that's saying something on a show with Leeanne in it.  Cary disgusts me with the way she talks about her husband.  And now we see she talks this way in front of him, too.  She completely emasculates him, then over compensates by saying he's such a horn-dog that she needs sister wives to share the burden.  She may be the biggest climber on this cast.

I'm trying not to judge him because he's the sole bread winner, but he seems somewhat disconnected from the family.  They already have a lovely home, yet he seems to still prefer working non-stop and being away from his family most of the time.  There is a possibility that they're living above their means and if he slows down they lose their home, and perhaps that's what drives him.  The thing is, he's been with her since middle school.  If he doesn't realize how miserable and lonely she is, he's an imbecile.

Stephanie doesn't strike me as super maternal.  Her interaction with Brandi's daughters last episode was pretty stiff, and the girls acted like they didn't like her.  In comparison, Brandi was very affectionate with Stephanie's boys, and they seemed really comfortable with her.

So listening to Brandy and Stephanie puts me in a savage mood. Juvenile potty-mouth bon mots issued in a breathy little girl voice age out pretty early. Say, age 15.  Brandi is 36 (and thanks to what she's done to her face, looks 50). I think Brandi peaked as a DCC, which is a very big deal in Dallas, and has been aimlessly coasting ever since. Her husband is probably bored and having an affair while he "travels and works."

Her cohort - Stephanie? - shows signs of intelligence when she frowns and tries real, real hard.

I guess Cary's marriage may last, but I question the longevity of the rest of the relationships.

When the site went down yesterday, I had written a post.  I realized I know our local LeeAnn.  She's the emcee of everything she can possibly get her hands on the microphone of.  She's very pretty, very smart and has been in floating around for years as part time on-air talent.  She currently is weekday traffic reports.  She is front and center at dozens of charity events, never spending a dime.  She swaps in-kind donation for the publicity she provides and her emceeing skills. She gets free tickets to everything locally.  Dances with the Stars?  She's a contestant one year, a judge one year.  Auctions. Veteran Ceremonies. Parade emcee. Band announcer.  She will not attend unless it's free and she's on-stage. (we have a mutual close friend who is no longer her friend who fed me the scoop).  She's a piranha but she's close to 50 and has maintained a presence in a tough media market.  She posts on social media the provider of the dress, shoes, hair, make up, jewelry and limo providers. I think that unless a person is at the anchor desk or is the host of the radio program, it's not a big salary.  The person I know has a podcast  talk show, a banner she hangs at every event, a large enough social media following and is fairly un-likeable.  It's given me no small measure of amusement to watch her being escorted from back stage events where she's shown up with her camera guy and media pass to do interviews with musicians.  She's 100% charity talk and 110% self-promoter. She's actually prettier than LeeAnne who is I think quite beautiful.  I went to LeeAnn's website.  She's a professional emcee, infomercial maker and voice over person  That would be more interesting that poor charity maven. I was so pleased when the light bulb went off for me.  Now I get LeeAnn or is it LeeAnne?

I think Brandi mentioned that she and her husband used to be out partying a lot, but he does not do that anymore so she goes out with Stephanie. It sounds like his priorities changed, as they should when you grow up a bit, get married, have kids, and a career. Brandi almost seems stuck in the pre-kids mentality. Brandi needs a hobby or something.

I did not think society ladies talk about bowing at someone.  I learn something new every day.

Amen on all of your comments, particularly the kids in the jeep.  No helmets, no restraints and a kid whom Stephanie said "loves to go fast around corners."  But it's a safe neighborhood!  These two are complete idiots.

While I think Stephanie is a happy SAHM who loves her husband, I get the impression Brandi would rather be anywhere else than be mother and wife.  And it's not just the stripper scene.  I think all of her identity was wrapped into being a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader and she has no other real happiness in life.    I guess they were high school sweethearts, but her husband couldn't seem anymore disconnected from her.  I feel like he's completely embarrassed by her stunted adolescence.  And rightfully so. He probably loved it when she was  a DCC but now she doesn't seem to offer that much.    I get the Kelsey Grammer vibe from him.

Cary's husband.  That was just plain strange.   I feel like he might be a cross-dresser he was so into that wardrobe more than I think a Project Runway designer would be.  Cary looked horrified as if she was worried his secret was out.

I suspect she misses her glory days when she was a DCC and people fawned over her all the time.  Now she's simply wife, mother.  And while that might be fulfulling to most people, her need to party and get hammered tells me she's still stuck in that mode.  Her hubby probably loved being able to show off his hot DCC and now that she's not that anymore, he probably is bored with it.

I feel bad for Brandi.  She seems absolutely miserable at home.  In my mind it explains away the over the top antics.  Grasping for joy or a laugh at any turn to either mask or temporarily abate the pain and loneliness.

Stephanie may not be the sharpest crayon in the box, but she seems sweet and loyal, which is always nice to see.

I liked Tiffany way better with Cary than I do with Leann.  Sub-Urban is right....she just needs new friends.

I also was able to get past Cary's comments after reading her blog this week.  It seems Mark was right there encouraging her to make those comments in her talking head.  He's proud of shedding the weight.  Now that I know she's not all catty about her spouse, she falls back into my Pro column of the show.

And finally to the Con and con.  Leann is such a poser. While I'll grant that she seems like herself with Tiffany, with everyone else she is so fake and pretentious.  You can't wear Carny like a badge one second then act like your the poster child for class the next.  Loved Cary putting her in her place about where she really stands in societal circles.

And yes to the comments about Brandi's mom.  When I did the math, I instantly thought "Rode hard and hung up wet,"  which is a crass, but apt, saying my husband bandies about.

I can only assume that LeeAnn learned to apply blusher from the clowns at the carnival.

She's so ridiculous. I actually liked Stephanie and Cary slightly more than normal for the zero fucks they give and I LOL'ed when Cary pretty much said that LeeAnn is delusional, she's not some high society chick. Yeah, I know she didn't say exactly that but we all know it's what she meant, lol. I'm glad they didn't indulge LeeAnn and though I think Brandi is a weird looking freak with the mental age of a child, I'm glad Stephanie didn't sell out her friend of twenty years.

Edit: LeeAnn's "I'm ten years older, show me respect" monologue had me rolling my eyes so hard. Brandi is thirty six years old, not sixteen... But then I am from a family and a place where an adult is an adult is an adult irrespective of whether you're twenty five or fifty five.

So, I've been studying Brandi's face carefully for weeks now and I think I've determined that her Seinfeld-esque Two Face problem is 90% a matter of makeup. I think someone does her makeup professionally for the testimonials but she does her own for the rest of the show, and she is So. Fucking. Bad! at makeup that it literally ruins her face!

When her mom was on this week, I thought, ah hah! This must be where she gets it. Then I realized - I bet Brandi did her makeup for her since she was going to be on camera. Poor thing, I think it did her no favors in terms of looking rough for her age, too! (I have a screencap but the system is telling me I'm only allowed 200kb for the image size, so oh well. I think her make up is, like you say, unskillfully selected and applied at home, except for the ths, where she may have a pro (but even that pro, is well, he's no Erika Giradi Glam Squad member), and the lighting is better in the ths I believe.  But it's also the first year HW syndrome -- when they are new, all of those ladies (most of them) lack a tv sophistication when it comes to preparation (the hair and makeup always look bad). Think of Tamra and Gretchen their first years -- same thing, maybe worse. By their third years (some second) they get it figured out.

Cary and her husband obviously have a lot more money, standing and connections than any of these other women, so I thought it was cool that she was real enough to be like "You have to be born into Dallas high society and have a billion dollars."  She didn't front like she was a member of high society, or that she aspired to be part of it.  No wonder LeeAnne hates her.

Also, Cary was so clearly repulsed by TRav on WWHL!

Brandi is just a sad person.  I think maybe she's trying so hard to keep a position on this show.  Maybe she knows her marriage is over, so she's figuring that she'll need this as a source of income?  Maybe?

I did like how Cary told Ms. Charity Etiquette that she would never be part of high society.  I would venture a guess that no one on this show is actually part of Dallas 'high society'.  The benefits we've seen look like they are fairly open to  the public or if you have a friend, you can get in fairly easily.  And Lee Anne, it's classless to tell someone to drop their friend.  If you're a true friend, you stay friends with a friend who maybe isn't the most refined or someone who's going through a hard time, as that is what a true friend does.  I think Lee Anne has acquaintances and people who she can use to get places, not friends.

Brandi has a really weird face. She looks like a Who down in Whoville. But yes, her makeup is no good. In the THs she has shades of brown and it looks nice with her coloring. But when she is ostensibly doing her own, it's pastel pastel pastel. Light blues and purples do not go with her fair coloring, at all!

I think the biggest mistake the recent shows make is trying to focus too much on so-called high society. Why not just get a bunch of diverse personalities, force them to have some functions together and drop the pretenses?

I've worked in fundraising for over 20 years. Granted, it's been in Boston, where people tend to be more quiet about their philanthropy (at least the old Brahmin families). I'm hoping someone from Dallas can offer perspective, because from where I'm sitting, LeeAnn is incredibly gauche and tacky, and I don't for a minute believe she's at all passionate about the causes she supports - I think it's all about her trying to shoehorn herself into a certain image. I find it tough to believe that a woman in the "right" social circle would appear on this show to begin with, much less call other women bitches, goad them into "bowing" her, and spend her day drinking instead of volunteering.

She swaps in-kind donation for the publicity she provides and her emceeing skills.

Ahhh, now this makes more sense. So she's like the people who volunteer to usher and hand out programs so they can see the play/opera. And there'd be nothing wrong with that if she didn't try to pass it off as something else. As for her emceeing skills, I am completely unimpressed with her mannerisms and speech and can't imagine her being in-demand.

I think Brandi's husband may have another woman stashed somewhere. He definitely appears checked out of their marriage, and Brandi is clearly miserable. If you're husband ain't giving it to you, honey, I'm pretty sure he's giving it to someone else.

I just started watching this show. I feel bad for Brandi. It's obvious that her husband doesn't seem to be interested in her anymore. She is retaliating by going to a strip club & dance with the male strippers. Brian would get very mad if he saw that. Sadly, I think Brandi will be separated from Brian at the end of the season. Leanne thinks she is the Queen Bee Socialite. I will give this show a chance. I loved watching Dallas when I was a kid. Is one of the housewives vying for the role of Pam or Sue Ellen? They drink a lot during the day.

I thought the same thing. It looks like a face/eye lift gone very, very, very awry. She looks like she's pushing 70, but then I did the math and almost fell out of my chair when I realized she's 51.

I swear I thought she was closer to my mothers age and not mine!  My mom is in her 70's and I am in my late 40's. Wow, just WOW!
