I binge watched the first 3 seasons, so the original is still fresh in my memory. To suddenly see everyone grown and all the references to the original made me, I can't believe I'm admitting this, sob like a baby! Hugs for everyone!

I'm horrified that I remember this, but I'm pretty sure "how rude" was Stephanie's catchphrase. People kinda forget that the Olsens were non-talking babies for those first few seasons and Stephanie was the mouthy little kid spouting out one-liners.

"Full House" is the first show I remember, as a little kid, being "appointment TV', it was the show I looked forward to every week and got to stay up late to watch. So while I'm sure "Fuller House" is gonna be a slog of a watch - and the original would be if I ever went back to it - ...I'm gonna watch.

Stephanie's catch phrase was always 'How rude!' And Michelle's was 'You got it, dude!' Also, not bring a rabid fan but someone who did see every episode at some point..... John Stamos singing 'Forever' was something that was a "thing" on the original series... He wrote it for Becky and sang it multiple times during the series since it was their wedding song, and also it was a "thing" as well that Steve was always hungry and eating all of the Tanner's food in the original series. Again, not a rabid fan that needed a reboot, yet I know these basic things about the show. Research, research, research if you're unsure, before writing an article! %u263A%uFE0F

Good lord is this ever cheesy but thankfully it's very self-aware. I have to admit, I wasn't a big Full House fan but it was an absolute staple of my childhood, this is hitting me in the feels. I love that everyone (minus the Olsen twins) is back. Even though Bob Saget looks like he doesn't want to be there.

Okay--I have to also be this person. "How rude" WAS Stephanie's catch phrase. Michelle's, once she could talk, were "You got it, dude" and "Don't call me squirt." I AM a superfan. This was on when I was a younger kid and I loved it. I grew up in Olsen mania and was a huge fan of theirs, so I am absolutely tuning into this.

John Stamos and Lori Loughlin still look good. I'm enjoying the show so far despite the cheesiness (and my dislike of Candace). It helps that I grew up on this show as a kid. I like that they broke the fourth wall when mentioning Michelle. I shall be binge watching the rest of the day.

It was a bit cheesier that the original series, but still enjoyed seeing everyone together. Loved the opening and the flashback side by sides.

The laugh tracks drive me crazy. I never watch live audience sitcoms, but I made an exception here.

I was a fan growing up. I watched it every week! Not sure of the strange Michelle reference to the audience...was that meant for the Olsen twins??

All of the nostalgia! Oh my! I was weepy as hell over here (of course it doesn't help that I'm 9 months pregnant). I loved all the side by sides of the old show vs. the new show. Singing The Flinstones, Steve and his food, Kimmy still completely Kimmy, Joey and his corny jokes, Jessie and his Elvis love, Danny and his neat freak self and passing that along to the grandson. Did the original series end with Danny and Vickie getting engaged or was he single at the end?

I hope the show focuses mainly on the adults with more cameos as the season progresses as opposed to Girl Meets World which seems mostly to focus on the kids.

Best of all for me is that my least favorite character from the original is absent (Michelle).

Forever was a song by The Beach Boys, Jesse didn't write it for Rebecca. There was an ongoing thing where Jesse was obsessed with The Beach Boys and somehow later in the season became friends with them.

My sister and I used to watch this in reruns after we got out of school every afternoon school (we were too young to have seen the show during its first run), and, yes, we mocked it endlessly, but it was one of the few times we got along when we were little, so this show will always have a special place in my heart, as silly and cheesy as it was. Now, we are texting each other while watching this, until we can actually watch together in person! 

 

Steve should be lucky he didn't marry DJ. Its dangerous being a Tanner spouse. However, they are clearly getting back together by the end of this thing. They are meant to be damn it! 

 

I will admit, this was cheesy as hell, but it gave me some feels. Between this and Girl Meets World, its like TV is just trying to make me melt into a puddle of nostalgia and lovable cheese. 

 

Its surreal seeing the Full House cast with cell phones, making modern pop culture references. To me, they live in a bubble of the late 80s and 90s.

I watched this episode on my lunch break at work and I was trying not to cry in the break room. For one, I watched some of the later seasons during it's first run (but I'm only a year older than the Olsens so when it came on in 1987, I did not watch it) and I feel like I'm seeing family again (or long lost friends anyway). I miss TGIF so I'm loving all this TGIF throwback (Sister-Sister and Family Matters, anyone?!). 

 

I really liked seeing "Nicky and Alex" -- even though they had the worst lines of everyone. I also don't think we missed too much of the Olsens. Michelle was my least favorite character and I doubt either of the Olsens would've been able to pull it off. They just aren't that cute anymore. 

 

I loved the DJ Tanner stuff - "I'm DJ Tanner" "... I'm DJ Tanner". It made me laugh. I'm also okay with the older group not being there as often. It makes sense that they'd live their own lives. 

Question - was Danny's wife anyone from the original? I don't remember the older seasons too well. 

 

I'll piggy back off someone elses comment and say that I also hope they focus as much or more on the adults. While this show would be 'great' as a family show, children aren't really going to watch it or care. Girl meets World should've focused on it's fan base who cared about the show - us 30-somethings. I care more about DJ and Steve, Stephanie, and Kimmie than I care about their kids.

There was some mild nostalgia here, remembering TGIF from my early childhood.  It was neat seeing the twins, and Jesse/Rebecca are still better then the rest of the combined, but Danny and his five second wife and Joey acting idiotic and looking stupid, was not great.   I'm glad I had it on mute and read the subtitles so as to avoid the laugh track, since there was very little humor here. 

 

I don't buy that DJ was a vet who had no pets at home, even when her husband was alive and she only had 2 kids. Stephanie's clubbing outfit was painful to see.  I have no interest in watching the new children fit into these dumb old roles from 90's tv. There is technically fewer people living in the house, so it's not "fuller" and there should be enough room/space for them all.

It's like reuniting with an old friend and remembering all the reasons why none of your other friends ever liked her but you love seeing her again because meeeeemories.

I'm loving the fuller house. I grew up looking forward to T.G.I.F and was there for their first run.

I think the world needs the cheesier programs because the current shows are too inappropriate for me to enjoy with my kids.

I like how they made the show more mature (Stephanie's rack more or less haha) but still have that good feeling family type vibe.

I'm only 3 episodes in and I can safely say I'm hooked once again with the Tanner family. I'm 34 (same age as Stephanie Tanner) and felt young again watching these few episodes.

The show picked up and it feels almost like it never ended. The entire cast looks amazing (making me want to restart my exercise regimen) and are still cute and quirky with an edgy 2016 feel.

I will watch the rest of the episodes to see if I'm fully sold but for right now. I'm so glad I have this show versus all of the garbage that's being aired currently. I love sex with my husband but I don't need a show showing people having sex constantly--breathe of fresh air.

So yes the show is cheesy and overly reliant of sentiment and nostalgia.

 

However i can see the kernel  of a good snappy show here but it would involve paring down the the cast.  Instead of the power trio-DJ, Steph and Kimmy, it should be odd couple DJ and Kimmey.  Steph can be the spaced out aunt who does not live in the main residence.  They should also probably ditch one of DJ's sons . The two talking ones are annoying.  Kimmy's daughter is hilarious though.

Totally predictable and totally awesome first episode. I only watched the original as an adult so it's not quite the nostalgic feels that it could be but I still got a little mushy at basically every moment. 

 

Loved 95% of it. I hope they dial Steve's character back a little bit in future episodes. I never liked Kimmy in the original but I'm liking her so far. Ramona was super cute. I like DJ's kids. I hope that I never again have to see so much of Jodie Sweetin's breasts.

I'd be lying if I said this wasn't cheesy. But I'd also be lying if I said I didn't enjoy it. I had low expectations as an OG viewer, but it was really sweet in the corny way it always has been. The split screens made me tear up, the NKOTB dance made me squeal and Kimmy Giblers feet are still grody. Oh, and when they broke the fourth wall regarding the twins, hilarious. I'm all about being meta.

I do wish I didn't hate Candace Cameron Bure so much because it interferes with my overall enjoyment.

Not just kids, older parents too! I am not going to watch a bunch of simulated sex while sitting next to my dad. If the choice is between people having sex or cheesy sentiment I will have to go with the cheesy sentiment.

This was better than I thought it would be - it had some genuinely funny lines and lots of meta which I love too. And the cast does look great.

This was so cheesy. However that's exactly what the original was like as well. Also putting almost all the catchphrases in the first episode felt really forced. I think I would've been better to sprinkle them throughout the episodes. This is on a binge medium so it's not like we'd have to wait a week between episodes. 

 

Uncle Jessie and Aunt Becky have aged really well. Also the twins should stick to firefighting and sound editing. Kimmy was Kimmy, Joey was Joey. Danny looked like he'd rather be anywhere else and his wife barely existed. DJ was okay but I keep seeing Candice Cameron-Bure instead of her character. 

 

One thing I was impressed by was Jodie Sweetin. Probably because Stephanie felt the most like an actual person not a caricature of one like the rest of them especially the kids. She also seemed to be adding the most adult tone to the show (not just with her breasts) with her dialogue and the way she acts.  She's probably the most interesting character on this reboot.

I'm the same age as the Olsen twins, so I grew up with this show, and I remember being devastated when it was canceled. I don't think the show held up nearly as well as Boy Meets World (I always stop to watch reruns when MTV binges them) but I caught the first episode for purely nostalgic reasons. It was fun to see all the originals ham it up again, despite how cheesy and awful the humor was. I'm actually glad the Olsen twins didn't come back, because John Stamos was being such a d-bag about them actually moving on with their lives. 

 

I really don't understand wardrobe's decision with Stephanie's party outfit. Especially since the party was made up of her dad, surrogate dads, nephews, and her Uncle's 60+ band.

I've developed a real disparity between how I feel about her as an actress/comedienne (grudging respect--although really all she can do is light comedy--and only as the straightwoman) and how I feel about her as a human being (she's not quite as bad as her evil brother, but she regularly goes on Fox News to talk about how people need to follow the Bible, literally).

The episodes that follow this one is where she impressed me a hell of a lot. In real life she's rode a hard road apparently and you can sort of see that reflected a bit in her character (even though this version of her isn't supposed to be a drug addict like the real woman). 

 

That said, the whole thing with the awful British accent almost made me check out on her instantly. I actually FORGOT she did that when I watched the next episode and that's a good thing, because I think if I'd remembered it I might not have responded as well to where else she took the character.

Yeah, like I said, if it hadn't gone out of my mind a bit I maybe wouldn't have reacted as well to her in the other episodes. Even KNOWING it was meant to be a bad accent, and that the others were riding her for it, it was SO stupid that I almost turned the damn show off. In truth the entire first episode almost did that too, but thankfully the next few following really recouped things (at least until that sub-par wrestling episode).

I thought she was such a random addition. She's kind of a name - especially in this sea of has-beens - so I'm surprised she was given so little to do. Maybe she was a fan back then.

 

The entire story about who lived where and when since the finale confused me. Danny and his wife still lived in the full house? Had Joey moved out during that time? Did DJ move back in after her husband died? Where did Jesse and Becky and the twins go?
