Agreed 100%.   I think this is the main thing that Maci is not thinking about when she conceives her trap babies.    It's not right but it can affect the bond between the father and kid when the dad did not want to be a father, wasn't ready to be a father, there is drama with the mother.    When Bentley was a baby Maci and Ryan were fighting and Ryan was avoiding her, same as he is now.   They should have been establishing a bond at that time.   He is wrong for being stubborn but she is wrong too, she could have texted him but wanted to play the martyr.   He is wrong for also being childish when the end is that Bentleys father wasn't there for him that day.    But something I don't get is why Taylor is off the hook.   His answer to helping with Jayde was for Maci to hire a nanny!   At least mimi watches Bentley for free lol.   I  think all three of macis kids are going to spend a lot of time with mimi but how will she spin the trash talking to only include Ryan then?

Ryan's parents are in constant horror at how they could have raised a son so self-centered, lazy, and insensitive. I think both of them wonder what they did wrong and I do too. Both of them seem pretty reasonable. Was he their only child? I guess the fact that he still lives with them like a teenager must tell us something. 

I have never been crazy about Ryan's parents. They are nice to Maci and great to Bentley, but his mother is entirely too Carol Brady for me. The vibe that I've always gotten from her is that she walks on eggshells around her baby boy. She always has this dumb smile on her face when admonishing him and tries so hard to be gentle in telling him that he's being a tool. The father speaks up more forcefully to Ryan but then seems to have a ::shrug:: what are ya gonna do attitude. Tell him to get the eff out on his own and grow up. It's not like doing that will cut them off from Bentley because Maci would undoubtedly bring him to see them. What possible incentive does Ryan have to become self-sufficient? People have been wiping his ass forever.

Maci has Taylor on the payroll and she buys him silly companies to play CEO with.

Farrah has both of her parents punching a clock and at her every beck and call.

Cate and Tyler have I don't know how many people filling out time sheets and now Butch is going to get a monthly stipend for rent.

Amber much have the biggest mooch of them all since Matt isn't even pretending to work and she just bought him a house to tinker in instead of a Lego set.  He seems to also be a fan of that XIOS store for men I always see in the mall.  Like a male Forever 21.

 

The crash landing that is going to happen for these people is going to be so very hard.  None of them have any schooling.  None of them have any work experience.  With the exception of Farrah, none of them have any outside income or any hustle in them to get any income besides this MTV check.

 

What's going to happen when the next Jersey Shore comes on the air and finally pushes them off MTV's schedule.  Do they realize how quickly they are about to age out of of MTV's demographic?  If nothing else they should be demanding that their parents and boyfriends get jobs.  But no!  Play Big Willies and make the  entire town part of the entourage.  I cannot wait for the fall.

Maci isn't conceiving these babies by herself. If Ryan didn't want a baby with Maci, then he should have worn a condom, and no way do I believe that Maci got pregnant on purpose when she was 16.  Ryan's bad parenting and general not giving a shit about Bentley is on him and him alone. Lots of exes don't get along, but they don't take it out on their kids. If that's what Ryan is doing then he's an asshole, and that's not Maci's fault. That's Ryan's fault. 

 

Ryan shouldn't have to have his hand held through everything. He's an adult, and Maci shouldn't have to text him in order for him to be there for his son, when he's having surgery. Jen and Larry clearly knew that Bentley was having surgery the next morning, so there's no way that Ryan didn't know.

Well that's where we differ. I think Maci was thrilled to be pregnant by ryan and even in her earliest footage she made a comment like "I get to get married" . Taylor is a lot more convincing when he talks about Jayde not being planned.

If you read my comment you would see that I said Ryan was also wrong for not communicating with maci that day. Maci is half the problem in that relationship. you can't put all the responsibility for the tension on Ryan.

While Maci's job at Check Into Cash isn't real glamorous, it's a full time job and one that allows her the flexibility to still be able to do the job that is being on Teen Mom, so I am not gonna knock it.  I think Taylor also works a job as well, but I don't know what he does.  

 

I can't stand Ryan.  You don't have to like Maci to be a parent and he just is too non-plussed to do it.  That's a shitty thing to do to Bentley and that makes Ryan a shitty dad and an asshole.  If I was his parents, I'd kick his ass out of the house and let him fend for himself for a while and maybe he'd learn some responsibility or maybe even a wee bit of humility.  

 

Amber is also an asshole IMO.  She knows exactly what she is doing constantly mentioning wanting to take Leah to Florida in front of Leah when she didn't talk to Gary yet.  And if you ask Gary last minute if you can take your daughter away for Christmas...you deserve for the answer to be no.

I really think it's time for MTV to stop marketing this show as helping educate the kids and reduce teen pregnancy. Whatever it is now, it is not that. On the last reunion show, Drew was making his usual spiel about the effect the show has had in reducing teen pregnancy rates, and I swear the girls all had this blank look on their faces, like, "Oh right. Um. Yeah." Nothing about this show has anything to do with reducing teen pregnancy now.

 

I think that might mean that anything going on with these women right now has nothing to do with the fact that they got pregnant when they were 16. It has to do with the fact that they are a reality show. Is that true? Not to diminish the impact of pregnancy in a teen girl's life, but really their children seem to be the least of their problems.

Nothing wrong with working at a check cashing place. My niece works at one while going to college. But if Maci is not graduating from college, she should clarify. After all, she talked so much about her college education on the show and elsewhere. It would be nice to hear from her lips what the status of her education is at this stage.

Another thing, if Maci is claiming TM as her job, then she needs to shut her thin-lipped mouth about Ryan not working. He also gets an MTV check.

I was thinking about this today too. Especially thinking about why they all seem to have the same therapist. I do know therapists - primarily couples therapists - who will also see people individually in between sessions, but it's to benefit the couple. I don't know of too many who will just randomly bring whoever into the sessions, especially the same day (notice Tyler and Butch were wearing the same outfits to therapy that they were when Tyler mentioned going). I can't decide if it's heavily scripted and edited, or if she's the only therapist they could find to film for the show.

Weird to think that Maci was pregnant while filming this and complaining about how she's just sooooooo overwhelmed. As we've all learned from Teen Mom, the cure for being overwhelmed is adding another baby to the mix. At least she'll be able to cash in on MTV's "you just had another baby" paycheck boost. Ryan is consistently disappointing. I keep hoping for him to change or at least show some legit progress, but part of me knows he never will. His parents need to kick him out.

 

Is it wrong of me to hope that Brandon and Theresa somehow adopt poor little Nova? They should have come to her rescue the moment her idiot parents decided make her middle name "Reign". Loved seeing Butch misspell craigslist and attempt to install spyware. I don't think that any therapist worth their shit would allow a session to be televised, especially on Teen Mom. Is she even a real therapist, or just an MTV employee? She seemed half asleep the whole time.

 

Amber is awful, and Matt gives me hives, but Leah is such a cute little girl and her hair is amazing. She's my favorite kid of the franchise. Clearly someone is taking good care of her, and clearly that person isn't Amber. Gary seems to get fatter every time we see him, if that's even possible. I wish he would get healthy for his daughter(s) sake. He reminds me of Homer Simpson in the episode where he gained a ton of weight to qualify for a work disability, hijacked an icecream truck, and wore a mumu everywhere. Maci - I agree on the check cashing place, and I think people (not you personally, just a general comment) forget that places have a lot of levels of careers, even places that maybe aren't considered glamorous. Working at a check cashing place doesn't necessarily mean minimum wage job at the counter, just like working at say McDonald's doesn't mean you're slinging burgers (nothing wrong with that, either, but my point is those companies have a lot of various careers within them). I've never seen it confirmed but I've read several places that she's a social media manager at the check cashing place. That would explain why she can easily work from home, which is a pretty great perk for someone with 2-3 kids if it means the hours are flexible. I don't expect people to work and parent simultaneously except when they absolutely have to, but if she's got the kids in day care part of the time and assistance from Taylor part of the time, she can probably work pretty flexible hours. Or when Bentley was home after surgery and probably sleeping half the time, it was probably fairly easy to get her work done. Like you I'm very curious about her education status and plans though.

As for social media specialist, Maci mentioned becoming one because she earns money advertising on Twitter. The Check into Cash job is separate from her being a social media specialist.

I know he likes to push Amber's buttons but in this case I think his concern's about Leah getting attached to Matt were genuine because when  Amber [hopefully] finallyfinally kicks Matt out Gary doesn't want it to be a big loss for Leah.  I don't know, Little Leah Leanne Shirley seems bright to me so here's hoping 1)it happens and 2) it's not great loss to Leah.

 
And yet he [Gary] had none of that concern when he broke up with Christina, who was doing all the heavy Leah lifting when Amber wasn't there. Back then he was claiming his breakup hurt Leah the most. And then after they got back together, he still kept Kristina waiting (pathetically, IMO) as he bounced back and forth between his "feelings" for Amber and whether she'd be allowed to stay or had to go. No concern a'tall, even after claiming that first breakup hurt Leah "the most." That was set to be a far bigger loss since she was already calling her "mommy," and treating her kid like a sister. These assholes perform for the camera like the audience doesn't have a memory (or access to Twitter).

 

 Oh hell, I completely forgot about all that!   That's a great point.  I guess Gary is really is just playing to the camera and more concerned with pissing Amber off than Leah.
 

I wanted to strangle Amber for talking about a trip to FL to Leah before talking to Gary. That is rule number ONE for exes, you talk about that kind of stuff BEFORE you mention it to the kid. She of course, is setting up a situation where if Gary says no, he's the bad guy. Poor Leah, she is being so manipulated, on both sides.

 Not just for exes but for aunts, uncles, grandparents, parents of the kid's friends, etc. etc.   Amber isn't much better than Gary - the trip wasn't for Leah, it's for her to make Gary the bad guy just like his objections to Leah being around Matt is more about pissing Amber off than about anything to do with Leah.   Although I will say, whatever the reasons I'm glad Leah's contact with Matt is limited. 
 

I don't know. I distinctly remember her saying "doggies", not "dogs". I guess it could be "dollies" - either way, the no souls thing is still weird. How about dolls don't get visited by the tooth fairy because they're not real and their teeth don't fall out? Dogs don't because....well they have no use for money, would not understand the concept of the tooth fairy, etc. But, of course, that clan would never sit a child down and have an actual well reasoned conversation. I haven't watched this one yet (it's tax season!), but does Amber want to take Leah to Florida to visit her brother or Disney World? Didn't Leah just go to Disney World with Gary? Yep, no way should Gary let Leah leave the state. Amber seems like a prime suspect for parental kidnapping, with Matt egging her on.

Taylor has a job outside the home somewhere, there was a scene if dropping off Jayde at daycare a few episodes ago. I don't think they mentioned what he did specifically.

This cracked me up. Matt decides it's time to set up the Christmas tree (note the pumpkin still on the front porch). He pulls what appears to be a few branches out of a box.

 

Leah: That is a tiny Christmas tree

Amber: That's just the base

Matt: No, it's the whole tree

Amber's mom: It's a Charlie Brown tree

Leah: I think something is missing

Matt: No, it's perfect. Now that is a Christmas tree!

 

The end result is hilarious/pathetic  -- a 2-3 foot Christmas "tree" (more like a small bush) that is bigger at the top than the bottom and could fit in a large vase. It is slightly crooked and will probably fall over about the same time the taped-up lights start falling down outside (probably the same day).

The fact that she lists 2011-2014 as the dates on her linked in page means to me she did not earn her AA. In late 2014, she was telling her friend she was set to graduate spring semester 2015. Her book makes a mention that she earned her degree just before Jayde was born in 2015. She then dropped out of school after fall semester 2014 so she could focus on managing Bentley's soccer schedule (or something like that) and so she could go to NY to promote Teen Mom. I don't have any experience with book publishing timelines but I would bet Maci wrote that in her book thinking it would be true by the time the book was released, but she dropped out of her final semester and either it was too late to edit or she forgot it was in there.

 

I think both Maci and Farrah are being technically honest but intentionally misleading with their Linkedin pages. I believe they are both saying they did course work towards their respective degrees on the dates they attended, but I don't think either girl has completed her education and earned a degree.

 I thought Gary and Amber recently had a custody agreement put in place? Did they not think about holidays, birthdays, etc.? I've seen agreements where one parent has the child such and such a holiday in even numbered years and the other in odd numbered, as an example.

I don't think at this point she went through with officially taking him to court yet.  She just figure out that there's a state law where she gets minimum mandatory visitation which I think is less than what she had before but now she gets that since she figured it out.  Gary gives her the minimum and that's IT!

I think it makes it more consistent since visitation was sporatic based on gary's mood previously.

More often than not parents are going to stand by their child.  I have a feeling his mom is the main one because you tell tell his dad is super over it and he tries his best to bitch slap Ryan daily.

Luckily they don't have to worry about Ryan refusing them access to his child since Bentley stays with them and Maci has a good relationship with them.  Usually that's the main reason why parents roll over and die for their kids.  My nephews' mom is a drug addict and has even stolen from her own parents and she's been to jail so many times but they still coddle the shit out of her. And she's in her 40s!

Anyways, it seems Ryan only lives away from his parents when he lives with a girlfriend (and still hits his mom up for money, according to his most recent ex girlfriend). I'd imagine he thinks paying rent and utilities and groceries are for suckers and he pretty much comes and goes as he pleases anyways so he doesn't have much incentive to move.

You are most likely correct!  Ryan obviously doesn't strike me as the type of person to be motivated enough to actually find a place of his own... pay his own bills.... worry about utilities or grocery shopping.... when your mommy will do ti for you, why not!?

 

I also have a co-worker who's 30-some year old son still lives with them.    I am 32.  While sometimes the idea of moving back in with mom and dad sounds like a great idea.... when they come and visit me at MY house I am ready for my space back after a few days - and I love them to death ;)

I guess these idiots take procreation with animals just as seriously as they take it themselves. They're all so gross. 

 

I haven't watched this one yet (it's tax season!), but does Amber want to take Leah to Florida to visit her brother or Disney World? Didn't Leah just go to Disney World with Gary? Yep, no way should Gary let Leah leave the state. Amber seems like a prime suspect for parental kidnapping, with Matt egging her on.

 

She SAID it was to visit Bubby. I've no idea where in FL he lives. But it is interesting that Leah just recently went down there with her dad. Is Amber trying to make sure she's just as fun? Maybe she should simply get off the couch once in awhile.

I don't  know why the dogs bother me more than the way they treat their kids.... Why don't any of these girls have their animals spayed/neutered? I just don't understand. Most of them seem super overwhelmed with the pets and children they have already so why do they want to take on more?

I know a lot of this now is played up for the cameras but Amber really didn't think through telling everyone around her she wanted to take Leah to Florida before even discussing it with Gary. It was so silly. Everytime Leah was around she's bringing up Florida in front of her telling someone else "I hope Gary lets her go." It's just so manipulative to do that to your kid.

The end result is hilarious/pathetic  -- a 2-3 foot Christmas "tree" (more like a small bush) that is bigger at the top than the bottom and could fit in a large vase. It is slightly crooked and will probably fall over about the same time the taped-up lights start falling down outside (probably the same day).

 

You have to fluff out the branches of an artificial tree to make it look like, duh, the shape of a Xmas tree,   Until Matt, I have never seen anyone take it all smashed up right out of the box and put it right into the stand and start decorating it.  Idiot.

Yes. Especially small breeds. I have two chihuahuas with bad teeth. One actually had 6 removed in the fall during a cleaning. They have both randomly lost teeth. I brush their teeth every since evening too! And get them cleaned by a vet! They have a genetic disposition for bad teeth becUse of their small mouth. And puppies lose them all and get adult teeth!

It would have been easy to put a nail on each end and string the lights across.  Even if they are renting.  Or as someone else suggest - gutter hooks!
