2009 is more than three years ago though and that's really what I was questioning. Anyways, Brooke and Ridge's character profiles at Soap Central say they were married both in 2009 (twice) and 2012. Supposedly the first one in 2009 was declared invalid and the one in 2012 was never legalized.

I must've switched it around in my head. Most things Bridge related after 2006 kinda run together for me.

In any event, it's recent enough that someone should have noticed how similar it was.

Didn't Ridge and Brooke have an even earlier beach wedding? I remember Brooke riding in on a horse dressed in a Renaissance princess type of wedding gown with a floral head garland. (Not to be confused with Taylor's "I now pronounce you man and horse" wedding interruption.)  Maybe I am confused with Brooke's wedding to Eric.

 

I'd happily go back to the 2009 shows. They were so much better than the crap being doled out today.

This show is so bad right now it drove me back to GH. Yes, a show with a human nuclear cockroach and his screaming, shrieking harpy as lead characters, is better than this crap fest right now.

Actually, I don't remember what else happened that year. I think Katie and Bill got together and/or married? I have an almost encyclopedia like memory for this show that I'm not proud of but that's a huge blank there. That to me is worse than being outright horrid.

No, I wouldn't say '09 was any better than today. We've gotten overall better acting talent between Ashleigh Brewer, Ashlyn Pierce for the time she was on the show, and despite being a physical miscast for Ridge, TK has manage to bring over more than a few former Ridge bashers. And hell, as ham-fisted as Raya was, it's more progressive a storyline as I ever thought possible for B&B. Even with Steam 2.0 bringing down the average considerably, I'd put this season ahead of most of the mid to late 2000s myself. At least no one is banging former sisters anymore.

Kelsey's right, though...no matter how good an A story is, it cannot nor should not carry the entire weight of the show.

That YouTube user that uploaded the whole first season of this show did us a great service to show that, yes, one can balance stories but do it well and with only 20 minutes a day, minus commercials. Story arcs weren't rushed out (although I wished TIIC would've killed the Katie/Rocco crap a LOT sooner) and the characters, most of whom were the same age as the man-children we're stuck with now, had actual goals beyond sleeping with or screwing over one another. There was an entire arc dedicated to Kristen and Stephanie arguing over the former not wanting to rush out and date and focus on her career. What, what, What?! Impossible!

Brad Bell is far from the worst showrunner in what's left of the genre, but he's by far the least inspired. I know Pratt will find new, creative ways to ruin Y&R, but B&B will be the same shit over and over again.

As shitty as it was for Steffy to fire Ivy, I actually think it is a great plot point.  Let's assume the video is gone and also that Ivy realizes she was wrong to accuse S of murder and to blackmail, that won't stop Ivy from loathing Steffy, pitting them in an all out war.  And just how does Steffy explain to anyone why she fired Ivy.  What will Eric say, or Ridge?  Will Steffy then have to tell everyone that Ivy lost her mind and blackmailed Steffy?  Then doesn't that make Steffy once more the cause of a young Forrester having mental health issues (sort of)?  Why would anyone support her?  I cannot imagine they all find out what Ivy did and then say, oh well, then it's a good thing Steffy fired her!  I admit I am now looking forward to see how this plays out.

 I wouldn't feel bad about Ivy's being fired either, given how she got hired in the first place, it's who fired her and why that I've got big problems with. Once again, Steffy gets her way at someone else's expense. Instead of getting the old Ivy back, I hope that Steffy's actions backfire big-time and it leads to Ivy unleashing Hell on her and Liam & if it takes The Video to do it, then so be it.

I assume nothing about the Ally Death Video other than it's too valuable to delete into eternity. Leverage is the name of the game with Steffy.

 

Ivy ought to be smart enough to hang on to a copy, but if that's not the case, Wyatt must have a copy -- Steffy burns everyone, so there is no reason to trust her any father than she can throw a tire iron.

 

Entertaining to watch Liam's second thoughts about firing Ivy. He even had feelz when she was escorted into the elevator.

I'm at my wits end with how Medusa and her Minotaur are acting. First of all, CA has some of the tuffest labor laws in the U.S. And you just can't unceremoniously fire someone and escort them out of the building especially by force. CA has strict procedures that have to be followed. Medusa telling Ivy she should have her arrested for blackmail is a laugh because she would have to tell why she was being blackmailed. Medusa and her Minotaur are trying to out do the tyranny of Rick and Maya where Steffy is Rick and Liam is Maya because Steffy has bigger and hairier balls than Liam. It would be a great plot point to find out that Liam is also transgendered.

Thomas you are even sleezyer than I would have imagined by kissing Nicole even if she was slinking around you. See the difference Thomas, Nicole was giving you all the signs were Caroline signs were all in you mind. I got to give Nicole credit though in better dealing Zende. After all, Thomas is much higher in the Forester food chain. Like sister like sister.

Yes, it is the actual reception. Both Caroline and Ridge wear the same cloth as they did today.  I agree it doesn't make any sense Carter is off somewhere when his friend is getting married.

I'm not heavily invested in Caridge, let alone their unofficial marriage, but TK and LG make it work.  The problem is that, this being the show it is, you can't enjoy anything for more than five minutes before something fucks it up...again, if by technicality, in this case.

I know the Caridge fans would love it but I thought that was a sad wedding.  I am not one for huge displays at a wedding, but certainly something could have been added to the mix other than the groom, bride and a handful of flowers a four year old would pick.  I even like the idea of just the two of them, but he should have had someone (a wedding planner a la the Dubai wedding), who maybe played a bit of music, had some chilled champagne in the background, gave her some proper flowers.  I get that they are playing up the bohemian artist thing but then why go to this stark concrete Malibu mansion.  They could have just walked out the door of Liam's beach house and gotten in their swimsuits.

 

Plus, I am so over the cutesy thing that LG now plays as Caroline.  It just highlights their age difference and makes me think it is even more creepy. I liked her the other day with Bill et al, she was more her confident self.

As far as the video goes...I admittedly am not much of a tech person, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't even have to be retrieved from cyberspace. The video should be in the memory of one of her devices, Ivy would just need to get somebody who knows how to retrieve it. I think she should somehow trick Liam into doing it :)

That was a pretty beautiful setting, but then I remembered this is Southern California...that lush, green lawn and all the water in the pools made me cringe.

Aside from that, I liked the "wedding". I've seen enough "real" weddings on soaps that I don't feel like I'm missing anything by not seeing a boring ceremony.

Trust me, the video can easily be recovered from the hard drive on her phone or whatever other device she had it on. A friend of mine managed to deleted everything off her ipod and I was able to run recovery software on it and got everything back. I've done it on my external hard drive on the computer too. Nothing is completely gone from a simple delete.

 

I generally prefer it when LG isn't quite so giggly but I think that's her 'I'm soooo in love' thing. Like TK being all stutter-y and nervous like around her at times. I don't know neither bothers me that much. But then again, I love this pairing.

The view from the mansion was stunning. 

 

I can't wait for Steffy to get hers.  She's insufferable.  And Liam is even worse for going along with her power play.  Even waffles have some texture and stiffness to them, but Liam is just a completely limp, wet, pathetic noodle.  This vacuous character can't be any fun for a charming, funny guy like SC to play.

 

Also, I noticed today that JMW's bite is off.  It's not Mimi Rogers off, but off nonetheless.  Has it always been that way?

The "wedding reception" was not a real one. It was just done for the fan event, it's not going to air.

 

Yes, LG/TK wore the same clothes but it was just for the fans. During the "wedding dance", JMW, PF and JMC were dancing with fans and when the cake was cut, LG had trouble with it and PF said, that's why they shouldn't actors do this stuff.

Plus, if it was real they would have told Linsey not to cut her hair this short until after the event. :)

Like I posted upthread, I don't know the laws in California, but Brooke and Ridge got married exactly like that two times. The first time there was a mistake in the marriage certificate but the second time it was legal.

 

They just have to go to City Hall and do the paperwork.

I'm hoping that the kiss between Nicole and Thomas was a fantasy of hers because Zende is taking too long to get a clue (as she insinuated last week). Otherwise, logistics dictate that Thomas is sitting every time he goes for a kiss and that just doesn't make good TV.

In the slightest of defense for them, that has really only been true the last few months, but for years Steffy always lost out to Princess Hope. Their two marriages only happens because Hope cancelled one engagement and Steffy told him she was pregnant another time. The writing that both characters got during their respective miscarriage stories are the best highlight on this.
